LEGO Elves Banner on LEGO.com Teases a New LEGO Ford Anglia from “Harry Potter” of the “Wizarding World” Franchise

Back in early April, LEGO opened up a new section on LEGO.com, dedicated to prospective tie-in merchandise to Warner Bros. and JK Rowling’s Wizarding World multimedia franchise, covering Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts prequels. Over a month later, there’s still no content on the page, but that might change.

Interestingly, the spoiler of a new Harry Potter set was made on a banner for one of LEGO’s original product lines, Elves. A banner on the Elves section has a blurb describing the action on one of the upcoming 2018 sets, but the accompanying image…is a familiar flying Ford Anglia.

Said vehicle, prominent in the second Potter book/film The Chamber of Secrets, has already appeared in past LEGO sets such as Escape from Privet Drive (4728) and Hogwarts Express (4841). This Anglia, with Harry and Ron minifigures naturally, might figure in any one of two new sets coming this year: Aragog in the Forbidden Forest (75950) and Whomping Willow (75953).

Now, whether or not these new updates on 2018 Wizarding World LEGO sets will be put on their dedicated theme page any time soon, we’ll just have to wait and see. Goodness knows; there’s so many of them announced already.

LEGO Unikitty! Unikingdom Fairground Fun (41456) Set Revealed

It seems that LEGO has invested quite a handful with its latest LEGO Unikitty! theme. Not only do we have a good amount of initial sets dedicated to this purveyor of good cheers, but we also have a first series of collectible figures and even a polybag.

This time, LEGO is throwing in another set that may prove to be interesting even if you don’t find yourself getting the rest of the sets. Thanks to BrickFanz, we now have a first look at the LEGO Unikitty! Unikingdom Fairground Fun (41456) set, with its fun looking roller coaster, bump cars, and spinning chair rides.

The set also includes Unikitty, Puppycorn, Dr. Fox, Master Frown and Brock. I initially have my reservations with this theme, but seeing the Unikingdom Fairground Fun (41456) set, I have to say that this is a sort of redemption for the line. The set is expected to retail for £40, and is to be an online exclusive. Check out the official product description below.

LEGO Ninjago Dragon Hunter (30547) Polybag Found

It looks like LEGO Ninjago’s latest subtheme will also have a polybag of its own. After the reveal of its initial summer wave of LEGO Ninjago Free the Dragons sets which is based on the TV show’s Season 9 offering, it looks like LEGO has thrown in a polybag set to go along with it.

This particular LEGO Ninjago Dragon Hunter (30547) polybag was found listed on eBay, and it looks like it features a unique Dragon Hunter minifigure not found in any of the seven sets originally revealed. There is no other information listed on the eBay posting regarding this polybag, but it is likely that it is made up of 50-60 pieces. I like the clever use of the LEGO Nexo Knights swords on the dragon’s legs and tail, and the over white color scheme of the dragon’s build. We don’t have any release date or price point as of the moment, but we’re sure to keep you posted once more info comes in.

On a similar note, the Japanese magazine CoroCoro has just shared via its YouTube channel a teaser for the Ninja’s next adventure in the realm of Oni and Dragons. Though it is dubbed in Japanese, I have to say that there are some spoilers ahead so be warned. Thanks to Brick Samurai for the tip.

New LEGO Creator Christmas Train (30543) Polybag Spotted

It seems were getting our first look at another Christmas seasonal set, followed by the reveal of the LEGO Friends Advent Calendar 2018 (41353). It’s not yet summer, but LEGO has already given us a taste of things to come with a new seasonal set, the LEGO Creator Christmas Train (30543) polybag spotted over at Amazon Germany.

This very much welcomed addition to the LEGO Christmas seasonal polybags, which has been dominated by various iterations of Christmas trees, snowmen, and St. Nicks. We don’t know much about this set other than it comes at 66 pieces. Most likely, it will also be a promotional offering, a gift-with-purchase during the holiday season at shop.LEGO.com and at LEGO brand stores.

If you want to have a head start in setting up your LEGO winter village MOC as early as now, and you can’t wait to have the LEGO Creator Christmas Train added to your village, then you may want to check this eBay listing. But paying 40 bucks for a 66-piece set is not my thing, so I will prefer to wait for LEGO’s official announcement later on. For now, let’s take a look at these images.

More Box Art Images of the LEGO Unikitty! Sets

Though the LEGO Unikitty! sets have been revealed a few weeks ago, we never saw anything beyond its front box art and its roughly translated product descriptions. Slated to be released next month, we’re still waiting for additional images to pop up so we can have a better look at each set’s play features.

But for the meantime, additional box art images of the LEGO Unikitty! sets were released by The Brick Fan that gives us a closer look on what to expect from these sets. I’m posting these images right here, together with the ones that we’re previously revealed for a better perspective. Check these out.

First Look At the LEGO Unikitty! Collectible Figures Series 1 (41775) Blind Bags

Brickset has uploaded our first images of the contents of the upcoming LEGO Unikitty! Collectible Figures Series 1 (41775), which were first announced by LEGO last April. Found over at a LEGO Certified Store in Zagreb, Croatia, Brickset reader Alan K was kind enough to share these images. The flyer itself follows the typical collector sheet format similar to LEGO CMFs. The sheet and blindbag itself is marked with the Series 1 logo, which suggests that LEGO intends to follow-up with another wave later on.

What I find particularly interesting is the use of new parts to make the Unikitty! Collectible Figures more stable, especially at the neck area. Unlike Unikitty’s first iteration, this later version is sturdier thanks to the introduction of a new 1×3 inverted tile with hole in the middle as you can see below. This allows a 1×1 round plate with shaft to be inserted snugly underneath. It’s surely an improvement both functionally and aesthetically. The cloud baseplate is also an excellent piece with lots of potential.

However, it should still be noted that feeling your way through these LEGO Unikitty blindbags is practically impossible. So if you’re planning to collect all 12 of them, then your best shot is to purchase the whole box and share some to your Unikitty-minded friends. Are you planning to get all of the LEGO Unikitty! Series 1 Collectible Figures? Let us know in the comments below.

More Images of the LEGO City Hospital (60204) Released

Last April, we saw the very much welcomed announcement of a LEGO City Hospital (60204) set that fans have been waiting for so long. Slated for a summer release, this set is the first ever City Hospital that LEGO will release following the LEGO City Helicopter Rescue (4429) – which quite frankly, does not really come close in looking like a hospital building.

Another huge thanks to The Brothers Brick, we now have additional images of this much awaited LEGO City Hospital, with its interesting array of pieces and builds such as the baby stroller, minifigure arm cast, and wheelchair. As the images below suggest, this three-storey build follows a modular design in predominantly white and red colors. It features the bare essentials of a hospital facility such as an ambulance, rescue helicopter, operating room, x-ray and laboratory.

As of this writing, we do not have any confirmed price and piece count, but LEGO fan forum members were suggesting a piece count at around 861 pieces, and a retail price of 80 Euros. Check out the set images below including the set’s blueprints which gives you an idea on the LEGO City Hospital’s exact measurements.

Walmart Lists LEGO BrickHeadz Jack Skellington and Sally (41630)

Just a few moments ago, another welcome surprise came from Walmart’s online portal. Though I’m not quite sure if this is accidental on the part of the online retailer, but it sure gave credence to what was rumored across LEGO fan forums for quite some time.

As of this writing, Walmart has not officially removed the listing of a LEGO BrickHeadz Jack Skellington and Sally (41630) set, though no images were uploaded as of the moment. But just in case the brick police come to clean things up, here’s a screenshot from Walmart’s site.

The Walmart listing has no further details other than the official set name and set number, but rumor has it that this ghoulish pair of BrickHeadz will be available in October together with the rest of other LEGO BrickHeadz sets slated to be released during the fall season. Now, I’m not really a fan of Tim Burton’s A Nightmare Before Christmas except when I saw Tyler’s re-creation of Jack Skellington’s House over at Build Better Bricks. That custom MOC which I did a review before, really won me over. Though I find it hard to imagine how these skinny characters from Tim Burton’s film will render in LEGO BrickHeadz format, I’m excited to see how they will turn out.

On a similar note, Brickset has listed the following list of upcoming LEGO BrickHeadz to watch out for following the summer wave of releases.

Expected July release
  • Harry Potter & Hedwig (416150); $14.99

  • Newt & Dumbledore (41621); $19.99 (Target Exclusive)

First Images of the New LEGO City Passenger and Cargo Trains

It looks like it’s not just the LEGO Technic Rough Terrain Crane (42082) that was revealed earlier during the Russian Toy Fair, but we also have a first look at the new LEGO City train sets that will be available this August. If you recall, we first made mention of these sets back in January when they were first announced during the Nuremberg Toy Fair. However, same as with any other exclusive toy fairs, LEGO has been quite firm in preventing any unwanted leaks. But this time around LEGO seemed to have relaxed on the restrictions, and has allowed fans and visitors of the toy fair to take some pictures and to share them to the rest of the LEGO fan community.

Thanks to Instagram user dimaks_lego,  we can now have an idea on how these new LEGO City train sets will be like. Frankly speaking, these new sets do not have so much of a difference as compared to previous ones like the High Speed Passenger Train (60051) and the similarly named Cargo Train (60052) both from 2014. What makes it interesting though is the option of having it motorized using LEGO’s latest Power Functions 2.0. The selling point here is the new configuration and design of the controller that allows better, fine-tuned controls over the power functions.  Check out the images below.

First Look at The New LEGO Technic Rough Terrain Crane (42082)

As early as December last year, we already reported a bunch of new LEGO Technic sets that will soon hit toy shelves this summer. These were eventually unveiled at this year’s New York Toy Fair but during which, photography was strictly prohibited with particular instructions to media not to post any of them in their sites or any other similar medium. This time around, LEGO may seemed to relax the embargo a little bit, and we’re now getting our first look at one particular set from this summer wave of LEGO Technic set.

Thanks to Zusammengebaut, we now have our first glimpse of the LEGO Technic Rough Terrain Crane (42082) which is now on display at the trade floor of a Russian toy fair, with no explicit photography restrictions this time. The following images eventually made their rounds over social media networks, particularly via Instagram.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BilaaDOAQnz/

The LEGO Technic Rough Terrain Crane (42082) set comes in at 4,057 pieces which is a sort of a re-make of 2007’s Rough Terrain Crane (8270), but in an obviously grander scale. In fact, the current Rough Terrain Crane is now by far the largest Technic set in terms of piece count, dethroning the Bucket Wheel Excavator (42055) from 2016 by 128 pieces. This upcoming set features a striking red color scheme and will also come with LEGO’s new set of Power Functions which is the XL Motor System.

It is expected to retail for 299.99 Euros, and is now listed for pre-order via Amazon France. According to the website, it is has an expected release date of August 1.
