New Characters To Watch Out For in LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2!

Day 3 of this year’s San Diego Comic Con was a show-stopper for LEGO and Marvel fans. During the LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2: Meet the Talent Behind the Video Game panel, the powerhouse team of Arthur Parsons (Head of Design for  TT Games), Bill Rosemann (Executive Creative Director of Marvel Games), Justin Ramsden (LEGO Designer), Kurt Busiek (Comic Book Writer for Avengers Forever), and Dan Veesenmeyer (Comic Content Artist, and artist for LEGO Marvel’s Avengers) were all present to give SDCC attendees a glimpse on the additional characters that will grace the sequel to the highly popular video game, plus tons of other interesting info about the game.

According to The Brick Fan, an exclusive, never-before-seen LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 trailer was shown during the panel, and several new characters and vehicles from the Marvel comic books were introduced. Some of these new characters were the Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming, Doctor Octopus, Cosmo, Greenskyn Smashtroll, Throg, and Forbush Man. Also presented to the audience were previously revealed characters of Howard the Duck, Iron Duck and Gwenpool.

Vulture Doc Ock Cosmo Greenskyn Throg Forbush Man Gwenpool

As it seems, our LEGO superheroes will also be capable of using their signature vehicles as seen in the comics and on the big screen. Examples of these are the Black Panther Jet, Crossbones’ Truck, and Star Lord’s Mini Ravage Jet.

What is also interesting is the fact that players can use several versions of the same comic book character during game play. For example, you can play as Spider-Man in his Homemade Suit version as seen in Spider-Man: Homecoming, while your friend plays as Spiderman Noir or Spiderman 2099. The legendary Stan Lee will also make a comeback in LMSH2, where you will have a chance to save him and, if you are successful in your mission, be rewarded along the way. The possibilities are endless, especially if you have more than 200 playable Marvel characters at your disposal. These 200+ characters are all available to players as they progress through the game, regardless of what type of console you are using. As such, WB Games and TT Games have no plans of offering any console-specific character packs which is fair for all gamers and fans of the franchise.

During the panel discussions and Q&A, Parsons also hinted at the possibility of Moon Knight making his way to LMSH2 as a playable character, and the inclusion of Mysterio going head-on against the Sinister Six. There was also some hints about the in-game mechanics (96 in all) and several abilities of some of the game’s characters. One example is Kamala Khan’s ability of shrinking down to size, and pass through different mazes.

Finally, Arthur Parsons also mentioned that a new LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 trailer will be aired likely on Monday. He reiterated this announcement via his official Twitter account.

In closing, attendees were treated with ticketed parting gifts of the foil comic print of Kang Dynasty, and the LEGO Marvel Superheroes The Avengers Quinjet (30304) polybag which was quite rare when it was introduced in 2015. An in-game, LEGOlized digital version of the Kang Dynasty comic book cover, and other similar classic covers will all be available in LMSH2 via collectable minikits.

We’ll keep an eye on the latest trailer of LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 when it hits the web on Monday. In the meantime, you may now pre-order your copy of this highly anticipated LEGO video game via Amazon. A Deluxe Edition is also available that comes with a Season Pass, the Classic GOTG Character Pack, and an exclusive Giant-Man minifigure. The game is expected to be released to the general public on November 14.

Thanks again to The Brick Fan for giving us an inside look on the happenings during this year’s SDCC.

Here’s A Wrap-Up of Everything That Is “Good and Dad” About The LEGO Ninjago Movie @SDCC 2017.

We’re almost down to the final day of this year’s San Diego Comic Con, with The LEGO Ninjago Movie making waves during last Thursday’s panel presentation. Prior to that, SDCC’s Preview Night also allowed attendees the opportunity to witness the unveiling of one of TLNM’s retailer-exclusive sets, the garmadon, Garmadon, GARMADON! (70619) and a new poster to boot. The reveal of Garmadon’s intimidating metal shark was a sign of more good things to come throughout the celebrated fan convention. Here’s a round-up of everything that was revealed thus far about The LEGO Ninjago Movie, exclusive at Comic Con.

First off, we have LEGO’s third largest set put on display for the first time. Coming in at a whooping 4,867 pieces, The LEGO Ninjago City (70620) has been finally showcased to the public and attendees of SDCC. Slated to be released on September 1 just in time before The LEGO Ninjago Movie is shown in theaters, Ninjago City (70620) will retail for $299.99 and features a highly detailed, 3-level modular model of the brick-built city. Credit goes to the Brick Vault for this firsthand look.

Perhaps other than the star-studded cast of TLNM present during the SDCC panel, LEGO fans and attendees were particularly excited about the launch of the film’s 2nd official trailer. In the said trailer, we’re given an inside look at Lloyd’s internal struggle of wanting to know more about his dad while foiling his plans of ruining Ninjago City. We get to see a sort of backstory on how Garmadon was prior to his marriage to Lloyd’s mom Koko. Will both father and son finally come to terms and acknowledge the strength of their familial bond? In case you missed it, here’s the 2nd official trailer of The LEGO Ninjago Movie.

Those who attended The LEGO Ninjago Movie Panel at SDCC 2017 were surprised by a very much welcomed treat. The Brick Fan was at the heart of the action during Comic Con, and was one of attendees during The LEGO Ninjago Movie Panel. Announced a couple of days back, panel attendees were given a Green Ninja Mech Dragon (30428) polybag as a souvenir. Check out the image below courtesy of The Brick Fan.

The cast of TLNM also had a brick-building, bonding time at the LEGO Booth while having their try on the latest LEGO sets dedicated to the film.  Justin Theroux and Dave Franco, who played the father-and-son duo of Garmadon and Lloyd, were caught having a blast with the LEGO Ninjago Movie sets as posted by LEGO via social media.

Lastly, IGN has also revealed the very first game play video for The LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game during a live panel at SDCC. During an interview with TT Games Producer Tim Wileman and Game Director, Arthur Parsons, we had our first exclusive look at how the video game will tie-in with the film across eight (8) action-packed locations within the vast world of LEGO Ninjago. Here’s a sneak peak of how our young ninjas will fair in their digital gaming versions.

Needless to say, it has been a great Comic Con year for the LEGO Ninjago Movie, and with the film getting the same love from The LEGO Group in terms of a wide variety of sets similar to its predecessors (The LEGO Batman Movie and The LEGO Movie), we’re very much certain that we will see more of our teenage ninja heroes in the near future. The LEGO Ninjago Movie will hit theaters on September 22, 2017 and features the voices of Dave Franco (Lloyd), Justin Theroux (Garmadon), Michael Peña (Kai), Fred Armisen (Cole), Kumail Nanjiani (Jay), Abbi Jacobson (Nya), Zach Woods (Zane), Olivia Munn (Koko), and the legendary Jackie Chan (Master Wu).

More LEGO Ninjago Movie Polybags Revealed!

More news is coming in with regards to The LEGO Ninjago Movie sets and polybags. After the reveal of several TLNM set polybags such as the Kendo Lloyd (30608), Ice Tank (30427), and The LEGO Ninjago Movie Movie Maker (5004394) we now have reports of two additional polybags that will be coming out soon. Thanks to Hoth Bricks, we now have a look at what these polybags are, and how they fare as micro-scaled versions of the original mech sets of our Ninjago heroes.

30427 1

Coming in at 64 pieces, we have the Quake Mech (30379) polybag which takes its cue from it’s yet to be revealed larger counterpart, set 70632. It is the unicycle riding mech supposedly driven by Cole in the film, and rumor has it that the larger 70632 is slated to be a part of TLNM’s 2018 wave of sets. In the meantime, we’ll settle for this smaller rendition which is not bad in itself.

30379 1 e1500334418192

Next we have the smaller Green Ninja Mech Dragon (30428) polybag which quite frankly, looks more like a hatchling of its larger predecessor. Being at microscale coming in at 60 pieces, it actually looks more like a baby lizard rather than a dragon! I can just imagine someone building a MOC of the Green Ninja Dragon Mech flanked by these little baby critters.

30428 1 e1500334540582

We don’t have any info as of now on the availability of these polybags, but we do expect that LEGO will keep up with the trend of offering micro-scale versions of these much larger sets just in time before The LEGO Ninjago Movie debuts in theaters on September 22. It’ll be fun to collect these micro-scaled mech polybags and have it stand alongside their larger versions.

Which of these polybags will you pick up? What other TLNM mechs will you like to have polybag treatment? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Batman Classic TV Series – Mr. Freeze (30603) Polybag Now Officially Available

There has been some recent hype (and worry) about the limited availability of the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Batman Classic TV Series – Mr. Freeze (30603) polybag, which was first spotted at the New York Toy Fair a couple of days ago. Some feared that the said piece is only made available during that event, same with what LEGO does with its other promotional exclusives.

30603 1

Well, we can set aside our fears since LEGO has officially announced that the Mr. Freeze minifigure will be made available through all LEGO Stores, and online at shop.LEGO.com along with a minimum purchase of $75 of any LEGO product. LEGO’s April 2016 Store Calendar also mentioned that the coveted minifigure will only be made available from April 1-15, 2016 or while supplies last, limited to only one minifigure per customer. We can just hope that LEGO has plenty of stocks to go around since this cool minifig is surely destined to be a hot item.

Other than the store debut of the Mr. Freeze minifigure, the following are some of the April highlights in all LEGO Stores:

April 1 – we’ll see the debut of new LEGO sets based on the Angry Birds Movie, together with LEGO Juniors Lost Temple (10725), LEGO DC Comics Superheroes: Batman Gotham City Cycle Chase (76053), LEGO Elves: The Water Dragon (41172), and LEGO Minecraft: The End Portal (21124)

April 5 to 6 – The Monthly Mini Model Build features a Bumblebee.

April 11 to15 – The LEGO Ideas Maze Competition every 5 pm onwards. Brick fans will get a firsthand look on LEGO’s new Ideas- based product (21305) which may debut on LEGO World Copenhagen. We’ll keep you posted on this.

April 18 – Minifigure Swap Monday on all LEGO Stores.

April 25 to May 8 – LEGO Elves: Sira’s Adventurous Glider goes for FREE with a Friends, Elves, or LEGO Brand Disney Princess purchase of $35 or more.

Check out their April calendar here for more info.

LEGO Friends Jungle Boat 30115 Selling at Toys R Us | Get Them Now Before They’re Gone!

A new LEGO Friends Jungle Boat polybag may be hitting Toys R Us stores, and the Amazon online store very soon.

The LEGO Friends Jungle Boat 30115 has shown up on Amazon and is now available in TRU stores. It retails for $4.99 each and you get a LEGO Friends Olivia mini-doll with a lime-green boat.

If you’re looking for a cost-effective way of bagging this LEGO Friends Olivia minidoll, then I wholeheartedly endorse this set as an option. Building the boat model is a joyful experience, accentuated by the introduction of a fresh color for the classic walkie-talkie accessory.

I have to say that the choice of mini-doll pieces, specifically Olivia’s legs, feels somewhat commonplace for the selected color scheme, and her top doesn’t seamlessly complement them. Nevertheless, I’m confident that younger builders will be more than glad to experiment with mixing and matching mini-doll parts, and this polybag provides a cost-effective solution to do so.

LEGO City Police Helicopter 30226 Showing Up at Target

A new LEGO City Police Helicopter 30226 polybag has started to show up at Target stores.

It was found at the checkout aisles where you usually find other LEGO polybags. It retails for $3.99 each and it’s a small upgrade from last year’s helicopter 30222.

It was first spotted over at LEGO Shop@Home and is now unlisted. Perhaps LEGO intends this latest LEGO City polybag to be a Target-exclusive, though I’m just speculating at this point.

LEGO MINI Cooper 40109 Polybag Discovered!

It looks like there will be a new polybag coming out later this year – the LEGO MINI Cooper 40109.

Based on its larger counterpart the LEGO MINI Cooper MK VII 1042, this LEGO polybag rendition is a miniature-scale version of the iconic camping vehicle.

There’s no word yet on how to get the polybag but there’s speculation that it may be a freebie at LEGO later this year. Below are the instructions for the set and you can build your own if you have the right pieces.
