It looks like brick-built books are in these recent days. In case you missed it, the LEGO Group has now unveiled another new wave of LEGO Harry Potter sets that cleverly complements the storybooks behind the theme. The LEGO Harry Potter HogwartsMoment series follows a 2-in-1 design that is somehow similar to that of the LEGO Disney Storybook collection from last year.
This latest collection of LEGO Harry Potter sets features some of the more popular classes in Hogwarts Castle during the early year of Harry and the gang. These include the Transfiguration Class under the tutelage of Professor McGonagall, the Potions Class with Professor Snape, the Herbology Class of Professor Sprout, and the Charms Class under the guidance of Professor Flitwick. There are plenty of exciting things about sets such as their new minifigures and pieces. But what I feel like the most outstanding play feature of these sets is the fact that you can combine them to form several adjacently connected classrooms. Pretty neat in my opinion.
This new LEGO Harry Potter collection will be available in LEGO brand stores and online beginning January 1, 2021, retailing for $29.99 per set. Check out the following images below for reference and you may also visit LEGO Shop@Home if you wish to add them to your wishlist of must-have 2021 LEGO sets. After several months of speculation on a possible LEGO tie-in for the upcoming Ghostbusters: Afterlife film, LEGO has now broken its silence and has finally revealed the LEGO Creator Expert Ghostbusters ECTO-1 (10274).
Coming in at 2,352 pieces, this largest and most detailed brick replica of the iconic 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor ambulance recreates this classic vehicle straight from its ghostbusting days in the 80s. For the first time ever, LEGO has opted to recreate this pop-culture symbol in all its glory, and in an aptly scaled set that surely deserves a premium spot in any LEGO collection. This is a long time coming, considering that the very first LEGO set that accurately portrayed this legendary vehicle was released 6 years ago in the likes of the LEGO Ideas Ghostbusters ECTO-1 (21108). I did not count the LEGO Ghostbusters ECTO-1 & 2 (75828) as a proper predecessor considering how it heavily modified the original ECTO-1 – plus considering the fact that its tie-in film back in 2016 did not pan out well with fans.
The current LEGO Creator Expert Ghostbusters ECTO-1 (10274) is expected to retail for $199.99 once it is made available to the public on November 15, ahead of the Ghostbusters: Afterlife cinematic release in June 2021.
Read on for the complete product description of this set. You may also click on the following affiliate link below if you want to add this to your LEGO wishlist.
2,352 pieces | $199.99 | Available starting November 15, 2020

LEGO has released an accompanying designer video that shows us the many intricate details and cool, hidden features that comes with the now available, LEGO Batman 1989 Batwing (76161). Senior LEGO Designer Adam Grabowski gives us a closer look at what we can expect from this premium collectible set. Watch the video below.
Similar to last year’s LEGO Batman 1989 Batmobile (76139), the Batwing takes its cue from Tim Burton’s late 80s vision of the Dark Knight and gives it a LEGO twist that fans can clearly identify. Coming in at 2,363 pieces this accurate, centerpiece brick rendition of the 1989 Batwing is the first model to be capable of being displayed as a wall-mounted set. Thanks to a new wall hanger element that was first introduced in the LEGO Art theme, this version of the LEGO Batwing can be securely mounted on a wall despite its massive size and weight. According to Adam, this particular Technic piece is also quite concealed within the build which also prevents the set from accidentally slipping or dropping from its mount giving it an impressive, seamless display.
This new Technic piece, a wall hanger element 6302094, allows the LEGO Batman 1989 Batwing (76161) to be securely mounted on a wall.
The set also comes with an info plate and three limited-edition minifigures: Batman and his exclusive one-piece rubber cowl and cape, a mime version of the Joker, and Lawrence the Boombox Goon. Other than last year’s Batmobile (76139), this minifigure version of the Caped Crusader can only be found in this 18+ set, giving it a more exclusive feel.
The LEGO Batman 1989 Batwing (76161) is currently available for $199.99 over at LEGO Shop@Home and in your nearest LEGO brand store. Check out the set’s official product description below. You may also click the following affiliate link if you wish to check out the rest of the set’s details and photos.

Based on the upcoming MCU spin-off of the Black Widow (the film has been eventually rescheduled for an April or May 2021 release due to the pandemic), this LEGO version of the Taskmaster’s Ambush (77905) comes in at 230 pieces and was initially offered via Amazon for $40. However, due to the high demand for such exclusive collectibles, this particular set now sells for as high as $135.
The set also follows the familiar SDCC stylized box art featuring a comic book version of Natasha Romanov’s Black Widow. The set itself also features an exclusive minifigure variant of the Black Widow, and our first ever minifig rendition of the Red Guardian. The Taskmaster minifigure that comes with the set is not unique though since this particular character already appears in the LEGO Marvel Superheroes Black Widow’s Helicopter Chase (76162), less the hoodie.
If you’re still eyeing this limited edition LEGO Marvel Superheroes Black Widow Taskmaster’s Ambush (77905) despite the somewhat bloated price, then you still have a chance of getting one. It’s still unclear if this set will make an appearance over at LEGO Shop@Home same with the now out-of-stock LEGO DC Wonder Woman (77906), but when it does, I’ll update this article and keep you in the loop. For now, check out the following product description of the Taskmaster’s Ambush (77905) as posted via Amazon. If you wish to have a detailed look at this set, then Brickset’s Jacob Lyman did an excellent review that you might be interested in.

After making its appearance via the LEGO Customer Service portal, it seems that the elusive LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate (77904) will now be coming soon to Amazon as well. And though there was no mention of any particular release date whatsoever, the arrival of this set is now confirmed by Amazon considering how it is clearly advertised in the LEGO Star Wars section of Amazon’s LEGO Shop landing page.
The LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate (77904) is expected to be in high demand among LEGO fans considering that it was originally intended to be released as an SDCC 2020 exclusive. Coming in at 459 pieces, this brick version of the iconic rebel cruiser also bears the 40th-anniversary emblem of the Empire Strikes Back, celebrating the film’s first screening way back in 1980.
As I’ve mentioned in my previous report, we still have no official word from LEGO on when the Nebulon-B Frigate will arrive in LEGO brand stores, but a cursory search over at eBay will tell us that some folks already have this in hand, with some posted images even suggesting that these sets may have been sourced from LEGO stores as well. It doesn’t come as a surprise though, since it is understandable that these stores may already have kept a very limited stock of these sets ahead of their soon-to-be-announced release date.
If you wish to give it a try in creating your own collectible LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate (77904), then you may want to take a look at its building instructions and see if you can create your own using the LEGO pieces that you have. There seems to be no particular part or piece that is exclusive to this set so you might want to take a look at your own LEGO collection and see if you have the required pieces. These pieces are also made up of mostly dark and medium stone gray colors, so it something that is also pretty common in most LEGO sets.
Again, considering that this set was meant to be a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, better expect that this set will disappear quite quickly from store shelves and online. I’ll update this post once the Nebulon-B Frigate (77904) Amazon listing goes live, or you may also want to keep tabs with LEGO Shop@Home for more updates.
It looks like we’ll be building the official brick version of this iconic Harry Potter creature (or thing, whichever you may want to call it) any time soon. This time around, LEGO has just revealed the LEGO Harry Potter Book of Monsters (30628), together with its official building instructions.
The reveal came via LEGO Shop@Home’s kids’ section where we get to see this long-overdue LEGO HP set. If you recall, news about this set came out mid-October, with the LEGO Harry Potter Book of Monsters initially spotted as a gift-with-purchase (GWP) set in a brochure found in a LEGO Discovery Center Store in Shanghai, China.
Details regarding its international release were scant during that time, and now, LEGO HP fans, in general, will be glad to know that we will be seeing this official brick-version of the Book of Monsters anytime soon. Other than these official images, we only have its published building instructions in the US as proof that this set is just around the corner, perhaps as a GWP set as well.
The LEGO Harry Potter Book of Monsters (30628) set comes in at 319 pieces and comes with a Draco Malfoy minifigure. It measures almost 5 inches in width and comes with a pair of wheels at the bottom that allows it to move around while making its jaw mechanism move up and down similar to how it is seen in the movies.
Again, there is not much info on LEGO’s website as of this time but I can bet my bricks that this will be a substantial GWP set, perhaps in line with a LEGO Harry Potter promotions that will launch as part of LEGO’s Black Friday sales. If you wish to give it a try and build your own version of this set, then you may download the LEGO Harry Potter Book of Monsters building instructions right here, and see if you have the parts needed to come up with this cute brick monstrosity. However, be advised that you have to settle for a sightless brick critter considering that the official version has stickers for its eyes and title.
Thanks to Brick Fanatics for the heads up, with additional info from the Brickfinder as well. I’ll provide you with more updates as new info comes in, but in the meantime, you may also want to check some of the LEGO Harry Potter sets that are rumored to be released in 2021.
LEGO servers are now updated to include the November 2020 LEGO Store Calendar, giving us a glimpse of things to come in your nearest LEGO brand store. As the LEGO Group gradually resumes operations of all of its stores, we can still notice the lack of in-store building activities that the stores used to have. Despite these limitations, there are still plenty of reasons to visit (following health safety protocols in your area, of course) your fave LEGO Store and to check out the freebies that they have in store for next month. Take a look at next month’s LEGO Store promotional calendar below. You may also download a PDF copy of this LEGO promotional calendar right here.
The LEGO 1989 Batwing (76161) Takes Center Stage
Front and center in next month’s November 2020 LEGO Store Calendar is Tim Burton’s 1989 vision of the Dark Knight’s aerial assault vehicle now captured in LEGO brick form. The LEGO 1989 Batwing (76161) features an 18+ branding that caters to the adult LEGO fan community. It comes in at 2,363 pieces and retails for $200. It had an early VIP launch last October 21 and is expected to be available for all starting November 1.
Free LEGO Hidden Side El Fuego’s Stunt Cannon (30464)
October 26 to November 1, 2020
This polybag freebie has been around since the start of this week and is still currently available over at LEGO Shop@Home or over at your local LEGO brand store. For every LEGO purchase worth $35 and more, you’ll have the LEGO Hidden Side El Fuego’s Stunt Cannon (30464) added to your cart automatically. This set comes in 46 pieces and is valued at $4.99
Free LEGO Star Wars Han Solo Carbonite Metal Keychain (5006363) for VIP Members
November 1 to 8, 2020
LEGO VIP members are in for a treat this November. From November 1 to 8, LEGO VIP members with single-receipt purchases of LEGO Star Wars sets worth $100 or more will be entitled to receive an exclusive LEGO Star Wars Han Solo Carbonite Metal Keychain (5006363) or while supplies last. As far as I recall, this LEGO Star Wars element has only appeared in five LEGO Star Wars sets, so it’s a nice move from LEGO to finally have this as a keychain accessory. The window to claim this VIP-exclusive freebie is quite narrow, so be sure to time your next LSW purchase accordingly. This freebie will be offered in all LEGO brand stores and over at LEGO Shop@Home.
VIP Sweepstakes: Limited-Edition LEGO Store Lester Minifigure
November 9 to 29, 2020
Now that the LEGO VIP minifigure sweepstakes seem to be a regular staple of the LEGO VIP Rewards Center, the next exclusive collectible minifigure to be raffled is the limited-edition LEGO Store Lester minifigure. This rare minifig first appeared back in 2016 as a raffle prize during the grand opening of the LEGO Leicester Square brand store in London. Back then, only a total of 275 pieces were given away to walk-in customers who visited the store in its opening. Fast-forward to 2020, you may use your 50 VIP points if you wish to try your luck in bagging this exclusive, starting November 9 until 29. Remember, no purchases necessary to join the LEGO VIP minifigure sweepstakes.
Other things worth noticing in the November 2020 LEGO Store Calendar is the official announcement of this year’s LEGO Black Friday Sale. The highly anticipated annual LEGO sale event will happen from November 27 to 30. Stay tuned for more updates on the hottest LEGO sets that will go on sale during this promo period.
Finally, you may also mark your calendars on November 17 for the official launch of the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, which will begin streaming over at Disney+ starting on this date. This animated Holiday Special directly follows the events in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. We find Rey embarking on a time-spanning adventure that will allow her to meet some of the iconic characters in the entire Star Wars saga. It will be an interesting mash-up of all LEGO Star Wars characters wrapped around that LEGO holiday humor.
So what do you think of the November 2020 LEGO Store Calendar? Are you excited for next month’s freebies? Let us know in the comments below.
If you’re keeping a watchful eye on some of the things that are happening in the LEGO community scene, then you might have noticed that last month was a roller coaster ride of rumors and teases that gave us a glimpse of what we can expect from LEGO next year. Given with such an enormous amount of info from the leaky faucet, let’s take time to sum up everything that we have learned so far about the upcoming LEGO sets for the first half (H1) of 2021.

76182 DC: Batman Cowl 18+ (410 pieces, €59.99)
76187 Marvel: Carnage Helmet 18+ (565 pieces, €59.99)
LEGO Super Mario
And of course, LEGO obviously has more plans for its latest collaboration with Nintendo. In 2021, we can expect another series of Character Pack similar to its LEGO Super Mario Character Pack Series 1 (71361)
71380 Starter Course Set 2 (366 pieces, €59.99)
71381 Expansion Set (160 pieces, €19.99)
71382 Expansion Set (267 pieces, €29.99)
71383 Expansion Set (374 pieces, €39.99)
71384 Power-Up/Mario Costume Pack (18 pieces, €9.99)
71385 Power-Up/Mario Costume Pack (13 pieces, €9.99)
71386 Character Pack 2 (€3.99 per blind bag)
The names of these upcoming LEGO sets under the Super Mario theme are understandably kept under wraps, but from the looks of it, we can expect a new Starter Course set, 3 Expansion Sets, 2 additional Super Mario costumes, or Power-Ups, and another series of Character Packs. The Starter Course Set 2 is quite interesting and we’ll have to see how this will turn out.
LEGO Harry Potter
Rumor has it that the LEGO Harry Potter theme will receive its Disney-like series of Storybook Adventures, but in this case, based on the various classrooms of the iconic Hogwarts Castle. Each LEGO Harry Potter Storybook playset is expected to retail for €29.99, with a release date of January 2021.
Yeah, I know it may sound redundant already but hey, the Millennium Falcon still holds a special place in LEGO Star Wars fandom. As proof of that, we can expect another LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon Microfighter similar to what we have in set 75193 to be part of a repertoire of upcoming LEGO sets.
This is an exhaustive list though since we can still expect plenty of new information to come in as we approach the last quarter of this year. However, since LEGO is quite mum about these things, for now, I highly suggest that we consider all of these things for the rumors that they really are for the time being. Unless we hear LEGO’s official press release and product reveal regarding its upcoming LEGO sets, then let’s take this piece of news with a healthy amount of salt.
While we are still waiting for the arrival of the biggest LEGO Star Wars video game as of to date, Warner Bros and TT Games are throwing in a LEGO freebie to sweeten the deal. Those who will be purchasing the Deluxe Edition of the LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga video game will be treated with a new and exclusive minifigure – the LEGO Star Wars Luke Skywalker with Blue Milk (30625) polybag.
The polybag itself features a new minifigure version of Luke Skywalker, albeit based on a younger version of himself with his fave blue milk drink of all time. Thanks to Dutch video game retailer Game Resource, we can have a closer look at what this latest exclusive polybag has to offer. For what it seems, purchasing the Deluxe Edition of the said game will include the base game, a Character Collection Pack that includes six (6) exclusive playable characters, and the LEGO Star Wars Luke Skywalker with Blue Milk minifigure. It is most likely that the polybag itself will also feature a unique unlock code that will let you have this blue milk-drinking version of master Luke exploring the open brick worlds of the game.
If you noticed, this minifig version of Luke Skywalker is not entirely new. Its first appearance was back in 2016 together with the release of the LEGO Star Wars Death Star (75159), and once again this year particularly in three new sets: Obi-Wan’s Hut (75270), this year’s LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar (75279) and the most recent set in the Master Builder Series, the Mos Eisley Cantina (75290). However, what sets apart this exclusive minifigure is, of course, the unique blue milk mustache print and the milk carton box with a Bantha silhouette. The milk carton box is further accentuated with the inclusion of a white cheese slope piece.
The LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga Deluxe Edition is also currently available for pre-order via Amazon. This latest LEGO video game offering is slated to be finally released on December 31st, after some apparent slip-up regarding initial announcements of its release date. This galaxy-spanning culmination will also available across multiple gaming platforms including the latest ones such as the upcoming Playstation 5 and X Box Series X.
This past weekend was full of surprises. And in case you missed it, The LEGO Group has unveiled its next 18+ set that will surely appeal to Tim Burton fans. Following the crime-fighting footsteps of last year’s LEGO DC Batman 1989 Batmobile (76139), the LEGO Batman 1989 Batwing (76161) now brings the Caped Crusader’s high-flying action to the skies of Gotham City, packed with all the authentic details of the original Batwing as envisioned by Tim Burton in his 1989 film rendition.
The LEGO Batman 1989 Batwing (76161) comes in at 2,363 pieces and is expected to retail for $200 once it is available starting November 1, with early VIP access on October 21. The set measures at an impressive 4 inches high, 20 inches long, and 22 inches wide, making it a sure head-turner once it is assembled. It also features three minifigures that can be displayed alongside the completed Batwing all reminiscent of the original 1989 film – it includes Batman, The Joker, and Lawrence the Boombox goon.
Read on for The LEGO Group’s official press release, together with the set’s official product description and tons of official photos. You may also click on the following affiliate link below if you wish to add this to your LEGO wishlist.

BILLUND, September 19, 2020: It may not soar to Gotham city, but the LEGO Group’s latest release with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and DC, the LEGO® DC BATMAN™ 1989 Batwing, is sure to transport fans to their most memorable DC Super Hero moments this Batman Day. Fans of Batman and avid builders are in for some serious fun as they embark on their journey to construct the ultimate Super Hero vehicle in the LEGO® DC BATMAN™ collection.

DC and LEGO fans alike can indulge in their passion for the Caped Crusader as they explore all the delightful features of this new set, including a full interior, removable canopy, and posable aerodynamic flaps. To add to the excitement, the construction kit is also dotted with Easter eggs to surprise builders, such as a screen featuring The Joker’s gas balloons and a ‘Bat Engine’ label on the vehicle’s engine – helping to truly transport builders back to 1989 and into the BATMAN universe.
Once completed, the 2,363-piece set is a real showstopper, measuring over 4” (11cm) high, 20” (52cm) long, and 22” (58cm) wide. The construction set also features a special brick which allows builders to mount and display their model on the wall for added impact, making the LEGO® DC BATMAN™ 1989 set a wonderful addition to a Batman lover’s LEGO collection, joining the previously released LEGO DC BATMAN™ 1989 Batmobile™ to make a dark and dramatic display in any home.
peaking about the details of the new set, LEGO Creative lead Jesper C. Nielsen said: The emblematic set truly takes fans on a journey, as they immerse themselves into Gotham city and get hands-on with the set, using Batman, The Joker™ and Boombox goon minifigures to relive their favorite moments from the film. Fans can even create the infamous scene when The Joker barges in on the Dark Knight and utters his classic words “have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?”.
The new LEGO® 1989 Batwing construction set is the latest example of how the LEGO Group aims to inspire builders of all ages to build, rebuild, and get excited by the process of creation. A complex and rewarding build, the LEGO 1989 Batwing construction set allows builders to relax as they escape from the real world and enter the Batman universe. Designed for those aged 18+, the new set will also feature the new stylish packaging designed to reflect the sophisticated nature of the creative process.
All new products in the LEGO Group’s ranges that appeal to adults will now feature the sleek, minimalistic new design across related packaging, building instructions, exclusive content, and in-store and online store design.
LEGO® 1989 Batwing will be available for LEGO VIP members from 21st October and for remaining LEGO fans from 1st November, directly via LEGO.com and LEGO Stores.
