This Year’s New York Comic-Con LEGO Exclusive Will Be… LEGO Star War BrickHeadz!

We’re counting the days away before this year’s New York Comic-Con kicks in this Thursday. Similarly to this year’s SDCC, expect legions of LEGO fans to flock the halls of Javits Center from October 5 to 8 to have their try on this year’s exclusive NYCC LEGO set. As it turns out, Jedi News has reported that this year’s exclusive set will be a LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz, in contrast to the DC and Marvel-themed LEGO BrickHeadz sets exclusively sold during San Diego Comic-Con last July.

Do take note that the box art images for this exclusive pair of LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz do not represent the actual product. Same as in other comic-con events, purchasing these sets will be determined via a lottery system (which was already done and attendees who qualified were already notified), which eventually spikes up interest for these collectibles. The NYCC LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz comes in at 329 pieces retailing for $40, and will be available for sale for qualified attendees from October 5 to 8. Each BrickHeadz comes with its unique series number (27 and 28 respectively) and customized baseplate.

So what do you think brick fans, which Star Wars characters would you like to see receiving the LEGO BrickHeadz treatment? Let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned here at the BrickShow for the latest news updates about this year’s NYCC exclusive.

LEGO Clarifies the Availability of the LEGO Star Wars VIP Card.

Purchasing an $800 LEGO set hailed to be the largest of all time is no easy feat, and being a proud owner (or planning to be one) of the currently out of stock LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192), LEGO makes sure that you’ll have the bragging rights to mark the occasion.  As a VIP member, you are guaranteed to receive the plush LEGO Star Wars VIP Card – not just for aesthetics, but also for a ton of exclusive LEGO Star Wars promos and deals even until the end of 2018.

As such, loyal LEGO Star Wars fans have their eyes locked onto this shiny, black card. In case you haven’t seen it yet, Rebelscum managed to get in touch with Kidults Inc, and has shared the following images below.

To answer several questions about how and when the LEGO Star Wars VIP Card will be received, LEGO has posted a FAQ page to address these concerns (though in hindsight, LEGO could have done a better job if they’ve done the same to address the most important questions surrounding the availability of the MF). As it seems, if you happen to spot the MF in your local LEGO brand store and decides to make a spot purchase, you still have to wait for a few weeks before you can get your new card since it will be forwarded to you by mail. Here’s the rest of the details surrounding the equally elusive LEGO Star Wars VIP Card.

Limited edition, collectible LEGO® Star Wars™ VIP Card

Get your special edition membership card when you buy the Millennium Falcon™ (75192) and enjoy a full year of LEGO® Star Wars™ themed benefits!

Who is eligible for the LEGO® Star Wars™ VIP Card?

All VIP Members that purchase the Millennium Falcon™ (75192), including members signing up for the first time. This includes all countries VIP operates in, including countries that don’t normally receive physical membership cards. For country list, please see VIP.LEGO.com/terms.

How will I receive my card?

The card will be sent via postal mail – please note that cards are not available in Brand Retail Stores. These will also be sent via post to ensure they’re personalisedand if applicable, linked to a pre-existing account. This means that all previously earned points will be available on the new card and it will already be activated. The original account will need to be fully registered by December 31, 2017.

What does the card do?

Card holders will still receive all standard VIP benefits, in addition, they’ll be eligible for a full year of special Star Wars-themed offers throughout 2018.

What are the special offers that this card entitles a member to?

Special offers will include points promotions, special events, gifts with purchase and more! The offers will be shared directly with applicable VIPs throughout 2018.

Will the VIP Number on this card be different from my regular VIP card?

Existing members will keep their existing number. It will be printed on both their original card and the Star Wars™ collectible one. They can be used interchangeably.

Can I obtain this card without purchasing the Millennium Falcon™ (75192)?

Unfortunately not. This card is meant as a special gift with the purchase of the Millennium Falcon™ (75192).

Why can’t I have my card right when I purchase the Millennium Falcon™ (75192) in a LEGO® Brand Retail Store?

This is to ensure the card is linked to any existing VIP accounts and personalized with the member’s name, they need to be custom-printed, which is not possible at the Store.

How long is the card available for?

The collectible card is a limited-time offer until 12/31, or while stocks last.

How long will it take to receive the card?

It can take up to 6 weeks after purchase of the Millennium Falcon™ (75192) to receive the card.

LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) Will NOT Be Available Today for a General Public Release.

After much fan fare surrounding the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon 75192 during its debut last September 14, (and its eventual scarcity just after 24 hours of its VIP offering) the largest LEGO set ever made as of this writing, is still nowhere in sight either in LEGO Brand Stores and at shop.LEGO.com. Though this no longer comes as a surprise since LEGO already released its official statement regarding its availability, another announcement by the company may likewise add another frown on people’s faces, especially from non-VIP members where there are no LEGO brand stores within their region.

LEGO has been circulating this message among its VIP members, assuring those who haven’t received their set yet, will have the chance of receiving their own as soon as possible since they have the extended the VIP period until November. VIP members will also have the option to sign-up for a back-in-stock notification to receive regular updates about the set’s availability. However, bear in mind that signing up for the notification service does not necessarily guarantee reservation or the availability of the UCS Millennium Falcon. LEGO has also suggested checking with your local LEGO brand store starting September 29 to know when the next batch of MFs will be shipped to them. Here’s the complete message circulated by LEGO to VIP members.

As you may know, the new LEGO® Star Wars™ Millennium Falcon (75192), our largest LEGO set ever, went on sale exclusively to VIP Members on September 14. We are very excited that we received such a positive response from fans like yourself, it exceeded all of our expectations! Unfortunately, that also means the first batch has already sold out.

The good news is we are making more as quickly as possible and expect to have very limited quantities available for the remainder of 2017. We have extended the VIP-only access period, which means the new inventory will remain exclusive to VIPs at least through November.

To make your wait a little easier, you can now sign up to receive back-in-stock notifications. Simply confirm your interest below and we’ll email you when a new batch of the Millennium Falcon (75192) is available on shop.LEGO.com

If you’d rather make your purchase at your favorite LEGO Brand Retail store, please call or visit your local store starting Friday 9/29 and ask a Brick Specialist to add you to the wait list.

*Please note, stock will be in very limited supply and each batch will likely sell out quickly. Signing up for notifications does not guarantee availability of the product.

Now this may be a little reassuring for VIP members, but not to LEGO fans who have no option to avail of the VIP program, particularly among countries where there is no presence of a LEGO brand store. Extending the VIP program until November also means that non-VIP members will have to wait longer (as opposed to the expectation that the MF will be available to the general public by October 1) to even have the remotest chance of purchasing this set within their region. I guess we just have to trust LEGO to carry on with their promises at this point.

LEGO Ninjago BrickHeadz Now Available at shop.LEGO.com – Will Be Retired At The End of The Year.

Just in time with the release The LEGO Ninjago Movie in theaters, LEGO has announced its next line of brick-built character collectibles. Initially thought to be a retailer exclusive via Toys R Us, LEGO has revealed that the LEGO Ninjago BrickHeadz Lloyd (41487) and Master Wu (41488) will now be available at shop.LEGO.com and at LEGO brand stores worldwide. However, they will be on a relatively short run until the end of this year. So if you’re into collecting LEGO BrickHeadz, better grab these sets before they are retired by December 31st.

Yes, you heard it right. These two LEGO Ninjago BrickHeadz, for some reason, will no longer be available by December 31. I don’t know exactly what LEGO  has in mind for such a limited run, but it does add to the exclusivity of these sets. They are relatively cheap as of now, $10 each so now is the best time to get them if you’re into collecting BrickHeadz, and before they become insanely expensive in the aftermarket.

The LEGO Batman Movie The Joker Manor (70922) Revealed!

It seems that more The LEGO Batman Movie sets are on its way! LEGO has just unveiled its latest TLBM D2C slated to be available beginning Black Friday, November 24 at all LEGO Brand stores nationwide and at shop.LEGO.com. The LEGO Batman Movie The Joker Manor (70922) comes in at a total 3,444 pieces and is expected to retail for $269.99. LEGO seems to be levelling the playing field when it also mentioned that it will not offer any early VIP access for this set.

70922 Prod

If you remember from the film, this set alludes to Joker’s complete makeover of the Wayne Manor when he literally took over Batman’s crib and renamed it as the Joker Manor.  The film version is understandably packed with more carnival-themed details such as a Ferris wheel and larger watch towers. Nevertheless, the accompanying TLBM set is still impressive in itself, especially the inclusion of a functional roller coaster, and the disco dancing minifig versions of Batman, Robin, Batgirl and Joker as seen in the music video towards the end of the film.

Toys R Us Singapore Is Giving Away This Cool, 20-Inch Minifigure Maxi Stand.

Toys R Us Singapore and Taiwan is currently running a contest in connection to its Bricktober 2017 promotions. If you have your eyes set on collecting TRU’s exclusive Bricktober 2017 minifigures, then you might be glad to know that you have the chance of winning a 50-centimeter (or roughly 20 inches), maxi minifigure stand made entirely of LEGO bricks.

00

Based on its description, this brick-built giant minifigure replica is specifically designed with a hollow torso, large enough to fit and display an entire 16-piece LEGO Collectible Minifigure Series. It is entirely made of white bricks and at 50 centimeters in height, it comes close to the size of the 18-inch brick-built Medusa that was raffled away by TT Games at E3 last June.

Toys R Us exclusive giant minifigure raffle contest.

The Maxifigure/Minifigure Stand is a creative way to flaunt your prized minifigure collection. Though I hope that it will be able to accommodate at least 20 minifigures (for example, those from the LEGO Batman Movie CMF), the idea of coming up with a brick-built giant minifigure to display your minifgs is a very creative one. It is also a pretty straightforward build, which any LEGO fan can replicate – granted that you have enough white bricks, super glue, and building instructions of course.

To be eligible to join, contestants must be able to present four printed receipts, each of which reflecting the Bricktober Minifigures promo, and are dated within the specified promo periods that the minifigure sets were received. All four receipts qualify you for one raffle entry, and though multiple purchases and receipts are allowed, submitted receipt numbers may only be submitted once. Registration starts on October 20, while the winner will be announced on November 24 via TRU Singapore’s official Facebook page. For more details, you may read the full contest details right here. Will the LEGO faithful see this same raffle contest happen in the US? We just have to wait and see.

TRU’s Bricktober 2017 Minifigure Sets Comes in a Diorama Format.

A couple of weeks ago, we saw the official images of this year’s Toys R Us Bricktober 2017 minifigure sets and this time, more info is coming in from TRU’s outlets in south east Asia. Thanks to TRU Taiwan and Singapore, we have additional images that suggest that we’ll be expecting more than just the usual package of four minifigures.

TRU Singapore’s Bricktober 2017 ad.

TRU Taiwan’s blog site shares details on this year’s Bricktober minifigure sets which apparently includes a diorama for each of them. Each set comes with its unique, foldable diorama that complements the minifigs’ in them. Check these out.

LEGO Toys R Us Bricktober 2017 Collectible Minifigures (5004941)

As  you can see, the LEGO Batman Movie Minifigures (5004939) comes with what it seems to be a facade of Gotham City, while the LEGO City Jungle Exploration Minifigures (5004940) is placed on a jungle themed background (that seems obvious), and the LEGO Collectible Minifigures (5004941) set comes in with a sea rescue diorama format. What I find rather odd is how the LEGO Ninjago Minifigures (5004938) set is packaged. Since it is clear that the set specifically refers to Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu, the accompanying background is expected to be based on the recent season of the TV show. However, as you can see from the image above, its choice of diorama takes its cue from The LEGO Ninjago Movie, which is quite out of place in my opinion. Nevertheless, the diorama itself is a nice addition to these limited edition sets and adds a touch of exclusivity to them. It reminds me of the LEGO Batman Movie Movie Maker Set (853650), and the LEGO Ninjago Movie Movie Maker Set (853702) which comes with their similar backdrops.

toy 013

Though TRU stores in some parts of Asia and Europe have already announced their Bricktober release schedules, we still yet to see the same in the US and North America. Traditionally, these sets are released in the month of October, so we are expecting to hear some word from Toys R Us any time soon. Let us know in the comments below if you happen to spot these minifigs in your local TRU store.

70617 alt1

Coming in at 1,403 the Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon is the third largest LEGO Ninjago Movie set offered to the public. Other than the Destiny’s Bounty (70618) where you can have the entire team with their ninja masks on, the Temple of the Ultimate Ultimate Weapon (70617) is the only set that has the complete minifigure roster of our teen ninjas, each donned with their own unique hair pieces and signature weapons. The Temple itself is like a shout out to Indiana Jones Temple of Doom, filled with a host of traps, a secret entrance, and two monstrous stone guardians. The design of the Temple itself is impressive, with an Asian inspired outer facade concealing the many traps waiting inside. Over-all, this is a LEGO set that I will not hesitate to recommend.
