LEGO City Arctic Official Box Art Images Revealed

As early as January, we already mentioned that the new LEGO City-themed sets will go north to for one awesome brick-built, icy adventure. Following the recent Mountain Police and Mining themes, the next LEGO City sets will focus on an Arctic adventure, as we can glean from the following box art images as posted once again in Radio Kontrol’s website.  Check out the following LEGO City Arctic images and product descriptions below, with additional box art images from Croatian LEGO Store Brick.hr

I am particularly interested in the new animal molds, particularly on the mammoth bigfig from Arctic Mobile Exploration Base (60195) and the saber-tooth tiger. All in all, I am pretty positive that these new LEGO City Arctic sets will go well with fans once they appear on toy shelves in June.

LEGO Ninjago Oni Titan (70658) Box Art Revealed

Following the reveal of the LEGO Ninjago Summer sets and the highly anticipated LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City Docks (70657), it looks like we have another mech-type set under the Ninjago theme. Said to be spotted first at LEGOLAND Billund, the LEGO Ninjago Oni Titan (70658) borrows several aesthetic features from the Garma Mecha Man (70613), but with a more balanced look. However, I’m still kind of frustrated about why LEGO still insists on building those knees in such an uninspiring manner.

Anyways, the LEGO Ninjago Oni Titan is expected to be a part of the summer wave of sets that represents the upcoming Season 9 of the TV series which has dragons as one of its central themes. We don’t have a piece count yet, but based on its size in proportion to the four minifigures included with it, the build seems to stand around the same height as that of Garma Mecha Man, but relatively smaller as compared to the Fire Mech (70615).

LEGO Ninjago Oni Titan

Save for the legs and knees, the upper part of the build is pretty impressive. I like how intimidating the face of the Oni Titan looks, especially its purplish, sinister-looking eyes.  Its dark bluish-gray colors also give it a nefarious feel, heightened by its overbearing katana and oversized knuckles.

70658 alt1 70658 alt4

Though the LEGO Ninjago Oni Titan (70658) was first spotted at LEGOLAND Billund, rumor has it that it will be a Walmart exclusive starting in May when the rest of the theme’s summer wave of sets are released. Will keep you posted once official images of this set are out. Thanks to Brickset forum members for sharing this image, with additional reporting from The Brick Fan.

First Look At The LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City Docks (70657) Box Art Image

Radio Kontrol is still at it with another reveal that is a pleasure to behold. Also announced last January at the Nuremberg Toy Fair, it looks like the monumental LEGO Ninjago City (70620) is about to get bigger with the introduction of the LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City Docks (70657). We were able to catch a glimpse of its leaked image back in February, but this time we now have a better idea what to expect thanks to its official box art image. Here’s a first look at this newest Ninjago set, followed a Google-translated product description.

LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City Docks (70657)

70657

Prepare yourself for so much humor, chaos and conflict at the Port of NINJAGO® City THE LEGO® NINJAGO MOVIE ™ 70657! Operate the crane at the port and take a boat ride. Rotate the turkey on the spit inside the grocery store, but watch out for the simple soldier Puffer who is about to overturn the food showcase. Observe the statues in the Runme sculptor’s workshop and refine your ninja technique in Dareth’s dojo. Check out Runde’s travels in the map room and then enjoy a cup of tea in Mystake’s tearoom. Change the billboards, buy a drink at the vending machine and play video games in the game room with the big pink balloon in the shape of a pig on the roof! You will also be able to recreate the iconic fighting scene between the Green Ninja Lloyd and Gardamon on the roofs of the LEGO Ninjago Film.

Same as with the LEGO Ninjago City (70620), the Ninjago City Docks follows the former’s vibrant color scheme, with very impressive attention to detail. It also comes with a boat (it’s a dockyard after all), and more than a dozen minifigures (13 to be exact) including Lloyd and Garmadon in their respective battle gears.

Frankly, I really can’t figure much based on the box art, whether or not the build itself stands on a standard baseplate or on a rather unorthodox one. With regards to its feature as a sort of an expansion for the LEGO Ninjago City set, I can only assume that it can be connected at its back side using standard Technic pins which are typical on existing modulars.

Lastly, though Radio Kontrol has not listed a retail price, the Ninjago City Docks (70657) is rumored to sell for $299.99 leading most LEGO fans to assume that it may have the same piece count as that of LEGO Ninjago City. It’s kind of difficult to conclude in that manner since at face value the Ninjago City Docks seems to be a smaller build made up of less pieces as compared to the gargantuan Ninjago City coming in at 4,867 pieces.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City Docks (70657) is slated to be out sometime in June, so expect crisp, official set images to be out soon.

LEGO Unikitty Collectible Figures Series 1 (41775) Revealed!

Boy, oh boy! This weekend is jam-packed with a ton of reveals from LEGO that it’s kind of hard to focus where to begin. Better start the ball rolling, and let’s begin with the multifaceted (read: bipolar?), brick-built kitty sensation from the highly successful LEGO Movie.

Now that she has her own TV show, LEGO opted to push through a dedicated theme for her and the rest of her gang.  We already reported back in January during the Nuremberg Toy Fair that the sensational Unikitty will be having her own line of collectible figures, or more specifically LEGO Unikitty Collectible Figure series (41775). For one, this is definitely not your typical CMF series due to the very feature of Unikitty herself being made roughly of 14, mostly printed, standard LEGO pieces set on a cloud shape baseplate.

Now thanks to Italian toy and hobby store, Radio Kontrol, we no longer need to guess how this Unikitty collectible figure series will turn out. Now if you’re looking forward to this one, then a word of caution: it is virtually impossible for you to feel your way through most of the characters in this series because as you can see, each blind bag basically has the same kind of pieces save for their own unique printings. Here’s a rough Google translate from the Italian website, which interestingly states that this is the first among upcoming series.  Read on and check the images below.

LEGO Unikitty Collectible Figures Series 1 (41775)

Jump into the wonderful and glittering world of Unikitty! ™ with the Series 1 Collectibles Unikitty! ™ 41775, with buildable characters in limited edition. Discover Unikitty ™ and Prince Puppycorn ™ in a completely new version! Each character comes with a collector’s brochure and a cloud-shaped display plate. There are 12 to collect and exchange with your friends! Which character will you find in the surprise bag?

The LEGO Unikitty Collectible Figures Series 1 (41775) is expected to be available sometime in June. Will keep you posted as more info comes out so be sure to stick around with us here in the Brick Show.

Its LEGO Batman, Star Wars and Castle Featured In This New And Revamped Blocks Magazine

I have to apologize that this piece of news has been placed in the backburner for a while. Nevertheless, for those who are looking forward for Issue #43 of Blocks Magazine, this latest issue will surely not disappoint, along with its fresh new look. Read on for the complete press release. May’s Blocks Magazine Issue #43 is currently available for purchase so check out your local Barnes and Nobles bookstore, or visit blocksmag.com.

Blocks 43

LEGO Batman, Star Wars and Castle in new-look Blocks magazine

Blocks magazine gets a fresh new look with Issue 43, launching the new LEGO Family Tree feature and checking out a detailed LEGO cruise liner.

Having spent a career at sea, David Wardle uses his know-how to construct an exacting replica of the Queen Victoria Cruise Liner and explains how this fascinating build project came to fruition. Top ten short-lived LEGO sets counts down those releases that had an exceptionally short shelf life, while Updating the Classics looks at a fun build project.

The first instalment of an all-new feature, the LEGO Family Tree, takes a walk through 40 years of LEGO Castle sets. In the reviews section an eye is cast over new releases from The LEGO Batman Movie and Star Wars themes, with one set getting the lowest ever score in Blocks magazine.

Technique makes waves, showing how to add an extra level of realism to choppy waters. For those looking to up-skill when it comes to brick photography, this month’s guide explains how to use lighting effectively.

When fans buy a set as huge and time intensive as the UCS Millennium Falcon, it is a shame to just have it sat on an oversized shelf – so Daniel Konstanski continues to tweak and improve the ship, this month adding smuggling compartments.

As well as all of that, regular features Brick Wife, Month in LEGO, Brickpicker, This LEGO Life and Month in MOCs round out another issue packed with LEGO fun.

To get Blocks magazine delivered to your door – ahead of everyone else – visit www.blocksmag.com and check out the subscription deals available.

Check Out These Latest LEGO Training Manuals From Scholastic

It seems that there are still plenty of LEGO themed books to watch out for this second half of the year. Other than the impressive collection offered by DK that comes with exclusive, free LEGO sets and minifigures, children’s book publisher,  Scholastic, also has something to offer worth looking into.

It may not really fall under that ‘exclusive’ category such as those offered by DK, but still, any free LEGO is something worth catching. In this case, for those who are still missing the DC Comics version of Aquaman as found in Arctic Batman vs Mr. Freeze: Aquaman on Ice (76000), Black Manta Deep Sea Strike (76027), and LEGO Dimensions Aquaman Fun Pack (71237), then this is your chance to add him to your collection without breaking the bank. Amazon France Does It Again – First Look at LEGO DC Comics Batman Attack of the Talons (76110) and Brother Eye Takedown (76111)

Amazon France is being hailed as a champ in LEGO circles right now. They’ve already pulled a hat trick with their advance reveals yesterday and early today of new summer 2018 set reveals for no less than three of LEGO’s own product lines: LEGO Creator, LEGO Ninjago and LEGO Friends.

40861775214 ee8924965a

Now, Amazon France is going 4 for 4 with another wave of 2018 official LEGO set reveals, and this time it’s for one of their major licensed franchise, LEGO DC Comics. It also doesn’t take a genius to guess that these two new sets feature the Dark Knight himself: Batman.

The two Batman-themed summer releases for LEGO DC Comics are Attack of the Talons (76110) and Brother Eye Takedown (76111). Both are based on the Dark Knight’s struggles with two fairly recent threats from his comic-book rogues’ gallery: the Talons of the Court of Owls and the Brother Eye satellite.

27703047648 6246738b3a

Attack of the Talons (76110) sees LEGO Batman take to the streets on his Bat-Tricycle, putting the hurt on the Talon assassins of Gotham City’s Court of Owls secret society with the help of his canine crime-fighting partner Ace the Bat-Hound. The Talons are heavily armed but so is Batman.

Next on the list is Brother Eye Takedown (76111) where the Dark Knight faces his very own Skynet, Brother Eye: an AI over-mind reverse-engineered from Superman foe Brainiac (13) in a killer-sat body commanding the meta-human-hunting OMAC units. Batman has a new Bat-plane for the mission, with Bat-woman joining in.

27703047908 7687a3eb71

Aside from these two sets, there’s also the App-Controlled Batmobile (76112) first mentioned at the Nuremberg Toy Fair earlier this year. There’s no photos for this one yet though, so for now, enjoy the first peek of its immediate predecessors which are now listed on Amazon France. Kudos to them.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 to Get Avengers: Infinity War DLC

It’s that feeling again: the sensation of anticipation that comes before the impending premiere of a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie. MCU fans felt it last before Black Panther opened in cinemas last February; now it’s happening all over again for Avengers: Infinity War, set to come out on the 27th.

Leave it to LEGO and its gaming collaborators from WB Interactive and Traveller’s Tales to add to the hype. Yes, they’ve just announced the latest batch of DLC for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. You only get three guesses as to what the theme is; the first two don’t count.

The Avengers: Infinity War DLC has got to impress players of LMSH2, and what better way to do it than by giving playable control over the mad titan of the hour, Thanos himself? He even brought his Black Order crew along: Corvus Glaive, Cull Obsidian, Proxima Midnight, and Ebony Maw.

27691977228 25b9349e94

Why make Thanos and his lackeys playable? That’s because the added game level for the Infinity War DLC is a villain stage, involving Thanos and the Black Order attacking Attilan. From their viewpoint, they must power through the defenses of the Inhuman homeland until they reach King Black Bolt.

But it’s not just the baddies getting new additions; other new playable characters included moody Teen Groot and the Hulk-buster 2.0 from the movie itself, pushing the total character count for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 far beyond 200 at this point. That’s even more gameplay fun to be had.

Aside from the announcement that it’s coming, no date has been given as to when the Avengers: Infinity War DLC will actually arrive on all of LMSH2’s platforms (PC, Xbox One, PS4, Switch), but it’s bound to be soon. Hopefully it’ll be close to the film premiere on April 27.

Here’s the press release from Warner Bros. Gaming.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today revealed the content for the Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War Character and Level Pack, the new DLC for LEGO® Marvel Super Heroes 2. The upcoming pack, available at £2.49 on PlayStation® 4 and Steam and at £2.39 on Xbox One, adds a level and characters straight from the comics in celebration of the upcoming film, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War, in theatres nationwide on 27th April.

This action-packed level offers players the chance to control Thanos, one of the most dangerous Super Villains in the Marvel Universe, and his ruthless army. The Mad Titan and the Children of Thanos have invaded Attilan to take on Black Bolt and the Inhumans in an all-new original game level. Working as a team, the menacing crew must work their way through the various levels of Attilan before they are given the opportunity to break through to Black Bolt’s throne. New unlockable characters Thanos, Corvus Glaive, Cull Obsidian, Proxima Midnight, Ebony Maw, Hulkbuster 2.0, and Groot (Avengers: Infinity War) add to the main game’s roster of over 200 Super Heroes and Super Villains.

New LEGO Friends Summer 2018 Set Images Revealed

Coming again from Amazon France’s reveal of the summer 2018 Creator and Ninjago sets, we now have our first images of this year’s LEGO Friends sets due to be out sometime this summer. If you recall, we mentioned a rumor back in December that mentions that the next wave of LEGO Friends sets will see the gang having a go-kart racing theme. This time, it seems that the rumors are now set in stone with Amazon France giving us a glimpse of how a brick-built, LEGO Friends-inspired go-kart racing will look like.

I’m not particularly fond of the LEGO Friends theme, but I have to say that the karts are pretty slick coming in at mini-doll proportions. I like the color scheme on these karts, and their design somehow speaks of their riders’ characteristics and personalities. I’m also impressed on how the Heartlake City Resort (41347) turned out, and the nice selection of mini-builds included with this year’s LEGO Friends Advent Calendar (41353). Let’s take a closer look at the rest of these sets.
