LEGO has recently uploaded an image on their Twitter page on what could be a teaser on the next wave of LEGO Batman Movie sets. If you recall, a rumor has surfaced two months ago on what could comprise the third wave of TLBM sets slated to be released early in 2018, and now it seems that LEGO has given out the first clue on how some of these sets may look like. Check out the Bat Segway!
The talk in brick town suggests that we will be seeing five (5) TLBM sets in 2018 which includes unnumbered sets such as Justice League Anniversary Party, Egghead’s Food Fight, Harley Quinn’s Cannon Ball Attack, Bat-Buggy, and the Bat-Space Shuttle. Interestingly, some of these abovementioned sets, including that of a modified Bat Segway called the Whirly-Bat (which is one of the many actual bat vehicles that Batman and Robin used in the comics), can be seen in some of the pages of DK’s The LEGO Batman Movie: The Making of the Movie. According to DK, some of the vehicles and contraptions that were seen in the Batcave in TLBM were built as actual LEGO sets, and the book itself may be giving away clues on how these Wave 3 sets may actually look like.
Here are some other snapshots from the pages of The LEGO Batman Movie: The Making of the Movie courtesy of The Brick Fan. From these images, it seems that Egghead will have the upper hand with his chicken-powered mech. Perhaps a team-up with Condiment King is in order?
Now that the Bat Segway is out, it’s just a matter of time before we see the rest of TLBM’s Wave 3 sets. Keep tabs with LEGO in social media for more teasers in the next few weeks. Now I wonder if Tyler has something in the works… Bat-wise! Stay tuned!
It seems that the LEGO Nexo Knights has gained some steam. In spite of being relatively quiet during the past months without any recent announcements of new sets, and its rumored cancellation due to its underwhelming market share, it seems that LEGO is not willing to drop the curtain yet for this relatively young theme.
Brick Fanz was quick to take notice of the tease in the latest issue of the LEGO Life Magazine, which confirms that the LEGO Nexo Knights will not be cancelled, but in fact, will be having a string of new sets based on a sinister, ancient enemy. If you recall, since the theme’s launch in 2016, the heroes of Knighton has battled against the quick-tempered Lava Army, together with Jestro and his infamous Book of Monsters, and this year against Monstrox and his Stone Army. The Lava Army together with some of the Nexo Knights are all predominantly colored red, while Monstrox and the Stone Army are rendered in purple.
For 2018 however, a new foe now looms over the horizon with the ability to seemingly influence our heroes and manipulate their thoughts and emotions. We have little information about this new foe which has been coined as the Tech Infection, except for the fact they are probably luminous green in color.
If ever the Tech Infection sets’ color schemes will be near to that translucent green color as seen from the image above, then I can just imagine a whole lot of potential sets that may take its cue from the early 90s’ Blacktron 2 and 2015’s Ultra Agents. Brickset has also updated its database to include placeholders for 6 sets under Season 5 of the Nexo Knights’ line-up. Design wise, the Tech Infection subtheme has the potential of becoming the best Nexo Knights sets.
What do you think brick fans, are you glad about this latest subtheme addition to the Nexo Knights? Let us know in the comments below.
LEGO has made it official: several LEGO VIP members in London may now become the very first proud owners of the massively cool, LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) ahead of the set’s global release on October 1. Posted as a Facebook event, LEGO announces the midnight launch of the famed 7,500+ piece set at London’s LEGO flagship store at Leicester Square. Here are the details.
LEGO Star Wars fans rejoice! The time to celebrate the arrival of the biggest ever LEGO set has come!
Come join us and become one of the first owners* of the brand new LEGO® Star Wars™ Ultimate Collector Series Millennium Falcon 75192.
We will be opening the LEGO Store at Leicester Square on September 13th at 11:59 PM for the release of this epic set!
The first 100 people to purchase this set will receive a limited edition LEGO VIP card** entitling the bearer to exclusive VIP benefits in 2018.
You can even have your LEGO Star Wars set signed by the LEGO Designers Jens Kronvold Frederiksen and Michael Lee Stockwell.
Line up early to ensure entry, as space is limited. Looking forward to see there.
Though LEGO’s announcement of the Falcon’s first 100 sets being made available for the first 100 customers who will hold a vigil on the 13th, the post didn’t mention exactly how many sets will the store be able to sell on that day. Rebelscumseems to stumble upon an intel that suggests that the LEGO London Leicester Store will be able to hold stocks for 147 sets and no more, considering the sheer size of these sets and its box dimensions. Once sold out (which I reckon will be very, very quickly), the UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) will only be available again during its global release on October 1.
Another interesting bit of novelty that comes with the perks of being the very first owner of the UCS Millennium Falcon is the privilege of having your UCS MF sets signed by its respective designers. However, the lead designer for the 75192 Hans Burkhard Schlömer (who goes by the name BrickCommander over at Brickset) has confirmed that he will not be around during the signing.
Nevertheless, there are still plenty of good things in store even if you missed out on meeting Hans in person. Being one of the very first LEGO Star Wars faithful to own the UCS Falcon also allows you to be the proud holder of a limited edition black and silver LEGO VIP Card – a fitting tribute to the world’s largest LEGO set. As The Brick Fan pointed out, LEGO released the very first Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon (10179) back in 2007 together with a Certificate of Authenticity. Now fast forward 10 years later, a set as grand as 75192 is also expected to land in LEGO stores with a sense of exclusivity. Though there seem to be no double VIP points offered during this period, being an owner of this exclusive black VIP card will entitle its bearer to special LEGO Star Wars promotions slated in 2018. According to sources, LEGO fans in the US who will purchase the 75192 until the end of this year, both in-store and online (given that there are still stocks left), will also be entitled to this exclusive LEGO VIP card.
LEGO fans in London surely have the larger share of the brick-built pie on this one, and the rest of us will have to wait until October to secure our own copy. We’re not sure if this midnight launch promotional on the 13th will only be limited or exclusive to the LEGO Store in Leicester Square – we’ll keep our eyes and ears open for more news on this side of the galaxy so be sure to bookmark our site and sign-up for our notifications.
We’re just counting the days before we tap on that inner ninja, and swing our way into theaters to see The LEGO Ninjago Movie. Promotions are also revving up via social media prior to the film’s US screening on September 22, particularly with the release of a new batch of pretty interesting TLNM posters. Since a couple of months ago, Warner Bros have released a series of new posters, including our ninjas alongside theirmechs, andelemental affinity. This time around, we have not one but as it seems, two new series of posters that highlight our ninja heroes and their respective voice actors (and actress).
Courtesy of Fandango, this series offers a closer look at our main characters amidst their elemental backdrops.
Though it seems that this next series is incomplete, I hope LEGO and Warner Bros still has plenty of these posters in the works. As of the moment, we only have the character posters of Lloyd, Naya and Sensei Wu beautifully rendered in Japanese-inspired, woodblock-type, prints. Among these series, I personally prefer this one.
If you wish to get updates on what’s new about The LEGO Ninjago Movie ahead of its September 22 theatrical release, be sure to follow our ninjas via social media, or you can also subscribe to our site to get instant notifications about TLNM and other LEGO-related news. Just click on the bell in the lower right corner of your screen.
We’re now just a couple of weeks away before The LEGO Ninjago Movie hits the big screen, and to mark the occasion, Toys R Us in the US will be running another in-store building event on September 23 – just a day after the first screening of TLNM. From 12PM to 2PM of the said date, kids ages 6 and up will have a chance of building and bringing home their very own, Mini Ninja Training Temple at all Toys R Us stores nationwide.
Similar to previous TRU build and take home events, the Mini Ninja Training Temple comes in limited stocks so it will be better if you take advantage of early registrations. The temple itself is sort of like a microbuild, that takes cue from Ninjago’s second largest set (but not necessarily part of the LEGO Ninjago Movie film franchise), Temple of Airjitzu (70751). There’s also a mention of another ‘ninja training activity’ where in-store participants will receive a free Ninjago headband on the 23rd.
The LEGO Ninjago Movie will hit US theaters on September 22, 2017 and are voiced by Olivia Munn (Koko), Justin Theroux (Garmadon), Jackie Chan (Sensei Wu), and Dave Franco (Lloyd) among others.
Please allow me to divert for a moment from my usual LEGO news, thoughts and stuff. I know most of the good people of Florida are now prepped up and ready for what has been dubbed as a ‘potentially catastrophic’ Category 5 hurricane which is Irma. I am also aware that most of the good people there are in tune with the latest development as this monster hurricane is now pummelling its way to Orange State after wreaking havoc at Barbuda, St. Martin , Anguilla, St. Kitts, Nevis, the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. With all the devastating effects that this Cat. 5 hurricane now poses, let’s take a quick look at some of the facts that surrounds hurricane Irma.
1. Hurricane Irma’s winds have now reached sustained speeds of 185 miles per hour, which is already considered as “life-threatening”.
2. Irma is expected to sustain its Category 4 or 5 strength for the next five days or so, which means its devastating effects may linger for a while. However, there is no evidence to show that a new Category 6 moniker will be applied to Irma.
3. Hurricane Irma is the furthest hurricane with a strength of 175+ mph that ever developed in the Atlantic Ocean, right after Hurricane David in 1979.
4. Hurricane Irma is expected to hit Miami with threatening speeds of up to 150 mph and incredibly powerful gusts of 225 mph. To visualize how strong a Category 5 hurricane is, here’s a cool simulated video demonstration from the Weather Channel.
5. While common hurricanes develop at a slower pace, Irma evolved from a Cat. 1 to Cat. 2 category in just 24 hours, and in just a matter of days became a monstrous Cat. 5 hurricane.
6. Hurricane Irma requires preparations of utmost diligence. Though Florida is no stranger to hurricane systems, Irma has posed a disastrous potential never before seen in the area. It poses such a large scale threat that the state is now placed in a State of Emergency.
MOC courtesy of Blake Baer
7. Finally, hurricane Irma’s strength is currently so off the charts that it is now registering on seismographs – equipments that are primarily meant to measure earthquakes, according to the National Oceanography Center of Southampton (NOCS). Talk about literally pummelling the ground and the ocean floor!
Even though I remain a spectator of everything that is happening from this side of the globe, my heart goes to all the people who has been affected and will be affected later on by Irma. For our friends living in the Sunshine State, please keep in touch and be sure to stay tuned for regular updates on this monster hurricane. Indeed, LEGO bricks are close to our hearts, but you are much closer.
Stay safe everyone!

After the reveal of the LEGO Christmas Build Up (40253) a few days ago, LEGO seems to be gradually building up the Christmas cheers with another Christmas themed set or accessory. At LEGOLAND in Windsor, UK a new magnet accessory was put on display retailing at £6.99 or roughly $10. The LEGO Christmas Seasonal Magnet (853663) comes in at 45 pieces consisting of a girl minifigure, a pine tree, and microbuild snowman.
As far as we know, this is the fifth Christmas seasonal magnet released by LEGO since 2006, with the first four consisting of Santa minifigures. I know that most people might still prefer a Santa minifig over this latest accessory, but I personally prefer this most recent Christmas iteration over the previous ones, and the vignette-styled build that it shows. Though the build is very basic, which is to be expected from a small accessory such as this, its design stands from the rest with the thoughtful inclusion of white and blue translucent pieces that represent winter elements of ice and snow.
No word yet on when and where this Christmas seasonal magnet will land in the US, but if you’re into collecting LEGO accessories such as this, then keep your radars open and stick around here at the Brick Show!
This past weekend Stephen and I had fun roaming around during the Force Friday II festivities. Afterwards, we sat down and looked over the new LEGO Star Wars The Last Jedi sets and RANKED them. Now, please note, we have not yet built them, so these rankings are based on a few minutes of research, pricing, minifigures included and the play features we could see from the box art. It does not factor in the build experience and anything we may have missed from the box art.
The first wave of LEGO Star Wars The Last Jedi sets has already been revealed, alongside the much hyped launch of the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) during this weekend’s Force Friday II sales event. Undoubtedly, one of the most popular the LEGO Star Wars The Last Jedi sets is the brick-built version everyone’s favorite droid (next to R2, that is), BB-8. Consequently, as of this writing, shop.LEGO.com lists BB-8 (75187) as temporarily Out of Stock already, with almost all of The Last Jedi sets now on Backorder status.
However, the good thing is that Amazon still has BB-8 and the rest of LEGO Star Wars The Last Jedi sets up for sale. If you’re eyeing for this UCS-styled astromech droid, be sure to check the links below. Clicking on the images will bring you directly to the Amazon website. If you act quickly, you may still have a chance to grab this sets and of course BB-8 along the way.
Escape to safety in the Resistance Transport Pod. Open the cockpit, seat Finn and Rose and launch! If our heroes run into trouble, turn the engine to aim the stud shooter or roll the wheel to fire the spring-loaded shooters! Now has anyone seen BB-8?
Go in search of Resistance fighters in the amazing First Order Heavy Scout Walker. Place General Hux in the cockpit and send orders to the Flametrooper. Give the walker a push and see the crawling legs start to move! When you spot the enemy, raise the spring-loaded shooters and get ready to fire!
The Resistance has been spotted! Put Kylo into the cockpit of his super-fast TIE Fighter and blast off in hot pursuit. When you get close, push the triggers to fire the spring-loaded missiles and send those Resistance ships spinning out of control!
Own your very own LEGO® BB-8! Turn the wheel to spin the head and turn another to open the hatch and see the welding torch pop out, just like it did in the movie! You can also sit BB-8 on the stand so you can show your friendly droid to all your friends when they come to visit!
Join Poe and Vice Admiral Holdo as they set out on daring raids aboard the Resistance Bomber! Jump Paige into the rear gun turrets and fend off enemy ships or fire the spring-loaded shooters for extra firepower. When you reach your target, press the trigger to release the bombs and send the enemy troops running for cover. Good luck, Captain!
Grab the First Order Heavy Assault Walker and lumber into battle against Poe, Rey and the Resistance allies. Fire the head-mounted spring-loaded shooters and take aim with the rapid-fire stud shooter on top. When you run short on ammo, open the compartments and reload. In the Resistance fighters get too close, drop the mines at the back to give them a big surprise! Can the Resistance defeat this tough walker? That’s for you to decide…
Join Supreme Leader Snoke as he rules the galaxy aboard the mighty First Order Star Destroyer! Fire the stud shooters to defeat enemy ships and then open the panels to play inside. Ride the elevator to Snoke’s command center and issue orders to the mini hologram. Give the fleet orders from the bridge, prepare for battle in the conference area, get the droids aboard and monitor the ship from the control room. When you’re ready to move out, grab the handle on top and zoom into action at hyperspeed
Buckle up and get ready for action with the Elite TIE Fighter Pilot! Build this intimidating figure with red-striped helmet and breathing system and then put him in a battle pose. Arm his spring-loaded blaster rifle and you’re ready to take on the Resistance!
Awaken the power of the Force with buildable action hero Rey! Put her in a battle pose and gear her up with her blue Lightsaber and blaster pistol. If she runs into trouble, turn the wheel to take a swing at the First Order troopers!
Protect the First Order with Supreme Leader Snoke’s Elite Praetorian Guard. Reach for the awesome 2-handed bladed staff with lasers, or separate it to create 2 smaller weapons. Put this amazing guard dressed in tough red armor in a fearsome battle pose, then move the lever to swing the arms and send opponents running for cover.
Roar into battle with everyone’s favorite Wookiee, Chewbacca! Strap on his ammo belt and bag, grab his spring-loaded bowcaster and put him in a cool battle pose. This is the biggest, baddest (yet still lovable) LEGO® Wookiee ever!
