More LEGO BrickHeadz Licensed Themes Coming in 2020

After revealing its initial offering of LEGO BrickHeadz sets for 2020, it seems that more is expected for this year featuring some of the most iconic characters that we grew up and love. Our friend Lukas from Stone Wars has shared some bit of LEGO insider info that points to the highly probable release of more LEGO BrickHeadz licensed themes for 2020.

Though these sources may be treated as rumors until they are confirmed by LEGO, a similar report and thumbnail images shared by Promobricks corroborates the release of these sets. And from the looks of it, we will be getting two additional BrickHeadz inspired by Disney classic characters that we are very much familiar with.

UPDATE: The Brickfinder was able to get his hands on several official images of these new BrickHeadz so I opted to update the images on this post as well.

LEGO BrickHeadz Donald Duck (40377)

LEGO BrickHeadz Goofy and Pluto (40378)

214 pieces | $14.99

LEGO BrickHeadz Licensed Themes 40378 2

Though we really can’t see the finer details of these sets based on these thumbnails, these pictures are enough to give us a general impression of what to expect from these new Disney-inspired sets.  As a fan of classic Disney animation, I’m certain that these blocky versions of Donald, Goofy and Pluto will look great standing beside a pair of LEGO BrickHeadz Mickey (41624) and Minnie Mouse (41625) sets.  Aside from this trio, we might also get additional LEGO BrickHeadz licensed themes as we go through the year. Here is a listing of both confirmed or released 2020 BrickHeadz sets, together with those that we can expect later on.

  • LEGO BrickHeadz Valentine’s Bear (40379) – 150 pieces | $9.99 USD
  • LEGO BrickHeadz Wedding Bride (40383) – 306 pieces | $12.99 USD
  • LEGO BrickHeadz Wedding Groom (40384) – 255 pieces | $12.99 USD
  • LEGO BrickHeadz Lucky Cat (40436) – 134 pieces | $9.99 USD
  • LEGO BrickHeadz Sheep (40380) – ??? | $9.99 USD
  • LEGO BrickHeadz Donald Duck (40377) – 90 pieces | $9.99 USD
  • LEGO BrickHeadz Goofy and Pluto (40378) – 214 pieces | $14.99 USD
  • LEGO BrickHeadz Rubeus Hagrid And Buckbeak the Hippogriff (40412) – ??? | ???
  • LEGO BrickHeadz Falcon and Black Widow (40418) – ??? | ???
  • LEGO BrickHeadz Hogwarts Students (40419) – ??? | ???
  • LEGO BrickHeadz Minions (40420) – ??? | ???
  • LEGO BrickHeadz Minions (40421) – ??? | ???
  • LEGO BrickHeadz Frankenstein (40422) – ??? | ???
  • LEGO BrickHeadz Nutcracker (40425) – ??? | ???

It’s quite obvious that we’re still missing a LEGO BrickHeadz Star Wars candidate from this list, so I’m still crossing my fingers if stories of a LEGO BrickHeadz Jabba the Hut and Salacious Crumb will still happen this year. And if the above listing ends up to be true, then it only reaffirms the fact that this collectible theme still has it going with LEGO fans.

Are you excited about these rumored, upcoming sets? Do you think they will most likely happen? Comment down below. Special thanks to Ben for the heads up.

More LEGO Disney Princess 2020 Sets Revealed

LEGO servers have been updated once again to include official images of additional LEGO Disney Princess 2020 sets that are slated to be available in January next year. If you recall from last month, the first wave of these sets was revealed by third-party retailers abroad, including some new sets that offer a new pop-up book design similar to what we’ve seen with LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315).  This time around, these previously revealed sets are now listed at LEGO Shop@Home, with three, new additional sets whose official images are now unveiled for us to see.

As it seems, we will be getting four (4) new Storybook Adventure sets including one that is inspired by the Frozen 2 sequel. Mulan will also have another set dedicated to her, particularly one that shows her in a rehashed set that took inspiration from last year’s Mulan’s Training Day (41151). This is the second LEGO set that features a new minidoll version of the Disney heroine that also comes with new printings. If you’re a fan of Mulan, then this is will be a nice incentive to get this set in January.

Moana also gets another 2020 set which shows a more accurate rendition of her travel companion, Hei Hei the Rooster. I like this newer version of this spaced-out fowl as compared to how he is seen from 2017’s Moana’s Ocean Voyage (41150). His recent microfig version offers a larger eye print and a more movie-accurate color scheme.

I’ve updated this listing here to include the links to these LEGO Disney Princess 2020 sets to their respective LEGO Shop@Home pages whenever applicable. Check these out.

New LEGO Disney Princess Storybook Collection Revealed

New LEGO Disney sets were also revealed by third-party retailers that introduces a new collection of minidolls that are quite different from what LEGO has released before.  These notable ‘microdolls’ are included in LEGO’s new line of LEGO Disney Princess Storybook collection alongside other new sets that will arrive in January next year.  These new offerings include one 4+ set and five regular sets intended for kids 5 years and above.

Similar to the LEGO Ideas Pop-Up Book (21315), these new LEGO Disney Princess Storybook sets features buildable scenes from some of the Disney classic films that can be neatly tucked in or folded like a typical book. And perhaps to make this play feature possible, LEGO opted to modify its current version of existing minidolls and give it a new twist. These ‘microdolls’ are obviously shorter in height and come with larger eye prints.

Read on and check out for more images of these new LEGO Disney Princess Storybook sets, together with other regular sets that will be released come January 1st. I’ve also included their expected retail price in Euros and will update this post once more info comes in.

Olaf's Traveling Sleigh (40361)

For those familiar with this LEGO Disney subtheme, the first thing that is noticeable about this GWP set is the inclusion of the newer minidoll version of Olaf that only comes in two particular LEGO Disney Frozen 2 sets: Enchanted Tree House (41164) and Anna’s Canoe Expedition (41165). So if you’re a fan of the comical snowman, then having this freebie added to your cart is a great incentive to get this new LEGO Disney sets.

Olaf’s Traveling Sleigh (40361) comes in at 97 pieces and also includes a mini sleigh, a small buildable Christmas tree and gift, lamp, and a storage box to place Olaf’s skiing accessories.  I don’t see it yet on my shopping cart via LEGO Shop@Home, but since the set’s images have already been added to the online store’s database, then I guess it will just be a matter of time before you see this freebie listed. For now, you may want to delay your purchases a bit if you wish to get this free gift. Word on brick street has it that this free gift will be available from October 7 to 31 or until supplies last so I’ll keep a close eye on this one.

UPDATE: This promo is now currently live at LEGO Shop@Home, confirming our earlier announcement of its availability. You’ll get the Olaf’s Traveling Sleigh (40361) set for qualifying LEGO Disney Frozen purchases worth $50 and above starting today, October 7, until October 20 or when supplies last.

Disney+ Will Feature A Collection of LEGO Star Wars Animated Series

Disney is already paving the way for the arrival of its ambitious Disney+ streaming service that may prove to be a strong rival against the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime. Details are still scant as of the moment regarding the repertoire of its movies and series, but one thing that we can be sure of is that Star Wars fans will definitely get their money’s worth with all the exclusive Star Wars content that they have access to. This includes the much-awaited spin-off series The Mandalorian and additional content on The Clone Wars. To top it off, subscribers will have exclusive access to previous and upcoming LEGO Star Wars content all compiled in one convenient streaming service. This is at least what an eagle-eyed fan spotted and confirmed when a preview of the new Disney streaming service was released, together with some interesting collection of LEGO Star Wars animated series.

From what we can learn from this preview screenshot, it looks like that all of the LEGO Star Wars animated series featured in the service are those that are currently licensed under Disney. Rights for streaming or releasing other titles such as the LEGO Star Wars The Yoda Chronicles are still perhaps under Cartoon Network and negotiations are still in order for Disney to have full control over this franchise. What is certain is that newer LEGO Star Wars animated series such as LEGO Star Wars All Stars, The Freemaker Adventures, The Resistance Rises, and Droid Tales are now part of Disney+’s initial line-up.

With Disney having almost full control of its Star Wars properties, we can expect a lot of interesting content that will cater to every LEGO Star Wars out there in the galaxy. Disney+ is scheduled to launch on November 12 in the US and Canada, and on November 19 in Australia and New Zealand. Viewers can opt for a monthly subscription fee of $7 USD per month, or $70 USD per year.

Thanks to Brick Fanatics for the heads-up.

LEGO Disney Frozen 2 Sets Revealed

Disney’s sequel to its 2013 blockbuster hit is still slated to debut in cinemas in November, but it seems that LEGO is up and ready with its next wave of Disney tie-in sets. Since early February, it was already rumored that we will be seeing a handful of LEGO Disney Frozen 2 sets just before Triple Force Friday kicks in next month. And thanks to Russian online toy retailer Kockarium, we now have our first look at these six building sets – 4 regular sets and 2 that carries the 4+ subtheme. As of this posting, Kockarium seems to have taken down these images but not without them finding their way into mainstream LEGO fandom.

So before you take a look, be warned that their might be some minor spoilers ahead. These LEGO Disney Frozen 2 building sets don’t really reveal much about the plot points of the film, but it still quite interesting to speculate on how accurately these sets might portray the story in this animated sequel.

LEGO Shop@Home Now Offers An Entire Box of LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 2 (71024)

LEGO’s online store has been busy updating its site with yet another item. After listing the LEGO CMF Series 19 (71025) which will be available starting September 1, LEGO seems to be introducing (hopefully) a way in which we can get a complete series of CMFs all throughout. A complete box of the LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 2 tagged with set number 66625, is now offered at LEGO Shop@Home containing 60 blind bags, retailing for $239.99 USD. This is a great opportunity for collectors to snag a complete set or two straight out of the box since you may recall that the Disney CMF Series 2’s box distribution guarantees 2 complete sets of the 18 LEGO Disney minifigure characters that go with it. I’m not quite sure if LEGO is just replenishing stocks or will it be offering complete CMF boxes moving forward. Or perhaps because of the rarity of the Huey, Dewey and Louie minifigs prompted LEGO to make this offer. Whatever is the case, we just have to wait and see. However, since LEGO makes it clear that this complete box set is for a limited time only, then we can expect that this particular offer might end soon.

LEGO Disney Train and Station (71044) Revealed!

LEGO has just revealed its next direct-to-consumer (D2C) set that will surely win the hearts of Disney Park fans. Coming in at 2,925 pieces, the LEGO Disney Train and Station (71044) building set is not just aesthetically pleasing to look at, but also includes a Powered Up Hub and Motor which can be controlled remotely using a smart device. This set will retail for $329.99 USD and will be available to LEGO VIP members beginning August 21, with a general public release on September 1st. This is the next large Disney set that LEGO has offered following the release of the humongous LEGO Disney Castle (71040) back in 2016. In case you’ve noticed, the LEGO Disney Train and Station also gives us our first proper Goofy minifigure. We first saw him given the LEGO treatment in the Mickey and Friends Beach House (10827) Duplo set, but it does not kind of fit the common minifig category. Thankfully, we finally have an official LEGO minifigure version of him. I just wished that LEGO has thrown in a Pluto minifig as well.

LEGO Officially Reveals the LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 2 (71024)

Well, this really made my day. In its official Facebook page, LEGO greeted us with a very welcome surprise, and officially announcing its next wave of collectible minifigures. It has been teased since early this January with the release of the 2019 LEGO Catalog, particularly along side with the LEGO Movie 2 CMF. The LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 2 (71024) consists of 18 minifigures, featuring timeless, classic characters and newer ones. LEGO’s selection for this wave doesn’t disappoint because some of these minifigure offerings complement the ones that were released before in LEGO Disney CMF Series 1 (71012) – such as Princess Jasmin and Jaafar; and Edna Mode and Frozone. I am personally looking forward for the Ducktales and the Nightmare Before Christmas minifigs.
