LEGO Architecture World of Wonders (40585) GWP Set Coming Soon

LEGO.com’s customer service portal, particularly its building instructions page, may have given us a glimpse of the next gift-with-purchase we can expect any time soon. The LEGO Architecture World of Wonders (40585) set is the next LEGO promotional set that fans of the Architecture theme may want to add to their collection.

UPDATE (February 2, 2023): The LEGO  World of Wonders (40585) is now listed at LEGO’s VIP Rewards Center. For 2,700 VIP points, you can redeem a promo code that you can use for the next 60 days if you’re planning to make any LEGO purchases any time soon. If you’re looking forward to some of the March and April sets, while bagging this exclusive freebie at the same time, then planning your next purchase ahead will all be worth it.

First is the LEGO World of Wonders (40585) which costs 2,700 points. The other gift is the Birthday Diorama (40584) which costs 2,100 points to get. Once you redeem the codes, you’ll have 60 days to use them so if there isn’t any catching your eye this month, you can wait until March when the next larger release schedule is happening.

Though there are no specifics yet regarding when and how to claim it, the LEGO Architecture World of Wonders (40585) microscale model is expected to weigh in at 382 pieces and features some of the world’s new Seven Wonders of the World.  This freebie of a set features miniature brick-built replicas of The Parthenon, The Great Wall of China, Al-Khazneh, and the Taj Mahal.

LEGO World of Wonders

To date, the LEGO Architecture theme has produced replicas of some of these new wonders of the world. And it’s cool to see how LEGO designers captured the likes of the LEGO Architecture Great Wall of China (21041) and Taj Mahal (21056) sets into microscale formats with this latest promotional offering. I am a fan of microscale models, so I’m looking forward to seeing this gift-with-purchase up close and personal. I hope LEGO will throw in some printed tiles instead of stickers for a premium GWP set like this one.

Currently, there is no official product listing for this new promotional set aside to this link pointing at its building instructions. But given its value and features, I say this will definitely come at a higher price point for qualifying purchases. I’ll keep this updated once new information comes in.

Our List: August 1 LEGO Set Launches

The start of a new month usually means one thing on a LEGO news site. It’s LEGO set launch recap time! We’ve covered a wide selection of sets coming out this August 1 and it’s time to take a look back. You surely won’t be lacking in choices with these:

Architecture
Art
BrickHeadz
Disney
Duplo
Icons
Marvel
Minecraft
Star Wars
Super Mario

All items above were featured by us here on The Brick Show. And there are still more LEGO sets coming out later this month. We’ll do further mini-recaps of these when the right time comes.

LEGO Architecture Great Pyramid of Giza (21058) Now Listed, Coming August

For LEGO builder-collectors who love real-life buildings and structures, LEGO Architecture’s been a godsend theme. Nothing quite beats how the Architecture design team can encapsulate famous structures in remarkable scaled-down detail. Be it solo structures or building collections like city skylines, LEGO Architecture sets never fail to wow. Since the LEGO Architecture Singapore (21057) set launched in January, the wait has been on for the next entry of the line. Rumors over the past few months stated that it’ll be an ancient historical build this time. We can now confirm via LEGO.com that we can expect the arrival of LEGO Architecture Great Pyramid of Giza (21058) anytime soon.

21058 alt12

We can expect LEGO Architecture’s Great Pyramid of Giza (21058) to be available beginning August 1. The interesting thing about this set is its presentation of the above structure. Rather than the now-familiar weathered brown appearance, LEGO recreates how the pyramid may have looked circa 26th Century BC. Ancient contemporary sources described it as being white with a golden peak. So it is in this set. We also get a recreation of the smaller companion pyramid and temple complex at the nearby Nile. Great Pyramid (21058) demonstrates why the real thing was named a Wonder of the Ancient World. But enough of that; here’s the blurb:

German Retailer Lists Multiple Upcoming LEGO Sets Including Optimus Prime (10302), More Ninjago

Through thick and thin, LEGO strives to maintain a regular product release schedule year in and out. And while the best source on set launches would be LEGO themselves, sometimes retailers would jump the gun. These early announcements can contain the most exciting LEGO set notices, which we must wait for until confirmed or debunked. Last February we caught wind of a LEGO set for a mega-franchise from fellow toy giant Hasbro. Who could imagine a LEGO-Hasbro collaboration to make LEGO Transformers? That rumor, plus other LEGO items, just got their advance product reveal courtesy of an online German retailer.

The Brick Fan tells us that some upcoming LEGO sets now grace the online listings of Wagner’s in Germany. This listing includes the aforementioned long-rumored LEGO Optimus Prime (10302), from Hasbro’s “Transformers.” Not your thing? LEGO Architecture Singapore (21057) Revealed, Coming 2022

LEGO Architecture is a theme that seems to thrive in contrasting between its set releases. One set could be of a storied historical building and the next, a strikingly modern structure. Another might depict just one edifice and then be followed by a set depicting a city’s iconic skyline. The most recent LEGO Architecture release, Taj Mahal (21056), provides the first example. The second and fourth cases in turn are exemplified by 2020’s Tokyo (21051) and Dubai (21052). We’ll be getting more in that vein next year with the reveal of the next Architecture set.

Brickset has it that LEGO first revealed their next Architecture release on Twitter this past Monday, November 29, as above. Now, LEGO.com officially lists the LEGO Architecture Singapore set (21057) for our perusal. Like other “skyline” sets in this theme, Singapore collects key structures from that island country and groups them together. The set is dominated by the towering skyscrapers of Marina Bay Sands, One Raffles Place and OCBC Center. Below are brick-build renditions of the Fullerton Hotel Singapore, Lau Pa Sat, Boat Quay and the Gardens by the Bay. This writer has had the pleasure of visiting some of these locations in Singapore a few years past. Their LEGO Architecture designs are spot on.

Singapore (21057)

827 pieces | $59.99 | coming January 1, 2022

21057 alt2

  • A building project for adults – This LEGO® Architecture Skyline Collection model (21057) recreates some of the most iconic buildings in Singapore in LEGO style
  • Brick-built landmarks – Marina Bay Sands, the OCBC Centre, One Raffles Place, Lau Pa Sat (also known as Telok Ayer Market), The Fullerton Hotel Singapore and Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay
  • Landscaping details – Attach LEGO® elements symbolizing the Singapore River and trees, and discover building techniques to attach buildings at angles to the base

The Architecture Singapore set (21057) costs $59.99 and will officially launch January 1, 2022.  We can bet Singaporeans and lucky travelers to Singapore might just anticipate this particular New Year’s set release. It makes a nice memento of Singapore for the latter group who are unable to revisit anytime soon.

LEGO Architecture Taj Mahal (21056) Officially Revealed

LEGO Architecture is also getting its share of summer 2021 releases with its official reveal of the LEGO Architecture Taj Mahal (21056). This upcoming set is scheduled to be available for purchase starting June 1 and will retail for $120.

LEGO Architecture Taj Mahal

Though this set is touted to be the 2nd largest LEGO Architecture set to be offered, it is still dwarfed in comparison to its larger cousin, the LEGO Creator Expert Taj Mahal (10256). The latter is no longer in circulation since it was released back in 2017, it is still nice of LEGO to offer a newer iteration (albeit smaller) for those who may have missed the set 10256.

The LEGO Architecture Taj Mahal (21056) comes in at 2,022 pieces and will sell for exactly $119.99. Check its complete product description below, and you may also add this to your LEGO wishlist by clicking on the following affiliate link below.

A First Look at the LEGO Architecture The White House (21054)

If you recall earlier this year, attendees at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany had front row seats on the unveiling of the next LEGO Architecture set slated to be revealed this summer. Photography was strictly prohibited at that time, and rightfully so given that such a set is better off not spoiled with an ill-timed reveal. But thanks once again to online retailer Skvis Arena, we now have our first glimpse of the aesthetically impressive LEGO Architecture The White House (21054) set.

Similar to the earlier reveal of the LEGO Ninjago summer 2020 sets, what we have at the moment is a single box art image in a rather low-res quality. However, it is sufficient for us to appreciate the intricacies of this latest Architecture set. This brick rendition of the White House, is in fact, the second iteration of it. If you’re familiar with the theme, you might remember that the LEGO Architecture line had its first model of the said symbol of power back in 2010. However, this particular model is somewhat incomplete giving preference to the central portion (or the Residence Villa) of the White House as its highlight.

21054

Thankfully, the latest LEGO Architecture The White House (21054) supersedes its predecessor, and now includes a more accurate version of the presidential residence. Included in this newest version are the East and West Wings of the White House, with more details for its gardens and yards.

The set comes in at 1,483 pieces and measures at a remarkable 50 centimeters in length, retailing for 99.99 Euro making it a striking display piece. It is also the first LEGO Architecture set to bear the 18+ logo, clearly indicating its target audience. Skvis Arena lists the LEGO Architecture  The White House for a June 1, 2020 release, so we can expect additional and hopefully better images of this set anytime soon.

Special thanks once again to Promobricks for the heads up.
