LEGO servers have been updated recently to include additional official images of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars The Mandalorian sets including the Razor Crest (75292) and a BrickHeadz mashup of The Mandalorian and the Child (75317). If you recall, they were first unveiled by LEGO just in time for the annual New York Toy Fair held last month.
Aside from the fact that we need to wait a good five months for these sets to be released, we still need to wait a bit more before the second season of the highly popular Disney+ series, The Mandalorian, starts streaming in October. In the meantime, you can already pre-order both of these new LEGO Star Wars The Mandalorian sets, with the Razor Crest retailing for $129.99 and the series’ BrickHeadz counterpart for $19.99. If you wish to be one of the very first LEGO fans to see these sets at your doorway come in August, then be sure to check out the following images below, and visit these LEGO Shop@Home links below. You may also be interested to know that from March 20 until 29, all of your purchases at LEGO Shop@Home earns you Double VIP points for those sweet rewards waiting for you at VIP Reward Center.

The Child has adjustable ears to create happy and sad expressions, and it sits in a hoverpram ‘floating’ on 4 transparent LEGO elements.
We first caught a glimpse of this little guy’s official LEGO tie-in set last month during the annual New York Toy Fair. And now that we get to watch the last installment of the Skywalker Saga at the comfort of our homes with the digital release of The Rise of Skywalker, perhaps now is the best time to have your building hands busy with this latest LEGO Star Wars set. Though we’re still counting the weeks before we get to see the official LEGO Star Wars D-O (75278) building set rolled-out in LEGO stores, we are fortunate to see what it has to offer with the release of these official images.
German LEGO online retailer Proshop has listed the LEGO Star Wars D-O set for pre-order, with a release date of April 20. If you recall during this year’s NYTF, LEGO D-O was reported to come in at 519 pieces and will retail for $69.99 in the US.
This latest LEGO Star Wars display set also seems to cater to the adult fan base of the LEGO Star Wars theme, with its UCS-like design that features its own display stand and plaque. At almost 1 foot in height, it makes a great display piece to celebrate the legacy of one of cinema’s most enduring film franchise.
Here’s a rough English translation of the LEGO Star Wars D-O (75278) building set, while we wait for LEGO Shop@Home servers to be updated. Thanks to Promobricks for the heads up.

Inspired by epic villains from the Star Wars™ films, the new build-to-display models will be available to pre-order from [US: March 17th/ROW: March 18th] online at LEGO.com before launching on April 19th priced at (EUR/$ 59.99):

Pay tribute to the legendary bounty hunter by recreating the distinctive shape of the Mandalorian helmet with this awesome, 21cm tall brick-built display model.
Create the notorious contours of the TIE pilot helmet with LEGO bricks to complete this 18cm tall model and receive the glory of the Empire
This LEGO Star Wars Helmet collection adds to the LEGO Group’s much-loved LEGO® Star Wars™ range that continues to unite fans of all ages all around the globe.
Jens Kronvold Frederiksen, LEGO® *Star Wars™* Design Director, said: “The Star Wars™ galaxy continues to provide us with endless opportunities to bring scenes and characters from the movies to life using LEGO bricks. The new LEGO® Star Wars™ Helmets provide a challenging building experience but only use existing LEGO pieces to recreate the iconic contours and colors of headgear, showing what is possible with the LEGO System in Play.”
“Helmets have been a staple in Star Wars™ iconography since the very beginning, helping to shape the designs of some of the most notable characters in the galaxy,” said Derek Stothard, vice president of licensing at Lucasfilm. “So, it only made sense to immortalize those helmets in LEGO brick form. It’s always fun to work with the LEGO Group to create new, engaging and mentally stimulating products for builders around the globe, and we’re so excited to bring these LEGO Star Wars™ helmet building kits, and brand-new packaging, to our fans.”
The new LEGO Star Wars Helmet sets are the latest example of how the LEGO Group aims to inspire builders of all ages to build, rebuild, and get excited by the process of creation. The new LEGO® *Star Wars™* Construction Sets will be the first products designed for those aged 18+ from the LEGO Group to be launched with a new stylish packaging designed to reflect the sophisticated nature of the creative process.
All new products in the LEGO Group’s ranges that appeal to adults will now feature the sleek, minimalistic new design across related packaging, building instructions, exclusive content, and in-store, and online store design.
Genevieve Capa Cruz, Audience Strategist at the LEGO Group, commented: “For generations, children and adults alike have used the LEGO System in Play to challenge themselves creatively and we have millions of adult fans around the world who inspire us day after day with their intricate creations.
“Our older fans often look for building challenges related to their passions or interests and many want to display models once they have completed the build. The new stylish packaging of the LEGO Star Wars Helmet collection reflects the sophisticated LEGO build process to clearly differentiate our sets that appeal to adults from those that are loved by our younger fans. The design for different products will also use cues from our older fans’ favorite films, sports, or hobbies to help them choose their next challenge and get them excited to proudly display their creations when complete.”
If you recall back in August of last year, news from the leaking faucet hinted of more LEGO Star Wars busts that are in the works, following the release of the Darth Vader (75227) and Sith Trooper (77901) brick-built busts. However, it should be noted that this pair of LEGO Star Wars busts are exclusive to their respective fan events and were not made available to the larger general public.
Like any other LEGO event exclusives, a lot of fans were left feeling a bit disappointed about not having access to these collectibles. But this time around, LEGO is now introducing a pair of new LEGO Star Wars sets to make it up somehow to the fans of one of its most lucrative licensed themes. It looks like that the LEGO Star Wars Stormtrooper (75276) and Boba Fett (75277) busts are now a very sure thing, with first images of its box art now shared online by LEGO 3rd party retailer Toy Santa.
The way LEGO markets these brick-built busts (intended for adult builders 18 and up) clearly shows that they are for LEGO Star Wars AFOLs. I like the premium, UCS-like packaging on these sets, which are quite sizeable by the way, considering that they come with more than 600 LEGO pieces – almost double the size of the Darth Vader and Sith Trooper busts that were mentioned earlier.
The box art for these LEGO Star Wars busts also hints on the fact they are commemorative sets, marking the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back when it was first released in theaters back in 1980. It also bears the film’s commemorative logo bearing the silhouettes of Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader’s in their timeless father-and-son confrontation.
There is also no definite retail price as of this time, but we can expect these sets to be somewhere between $70 to $80 USD considering the number of pieces for such licensed sets.
The LEGO Star Wars Stormtrooper (75276) and Boba Fett (75277) are not yet listed at LEGO Shop@Home, but considering that images such as these are starting to appear already from third-party retailers, then we can expect more info to appear very soon, so stay tuned!
Following the reveal of the LEGO CMF Series 20 (71027) at the New York Toy Fair, LEGO has also unveiled another set dedicated to the next cutest droid in the Skywalker Saga. The LEGO Star Wars D-O (75278) set comes in at 519 pieces and is expected to retail for $69.99, as reported by Zusammengebaut.

This brick rendering of D-0 follows a kind of UCS style similar to what LEGO did with the LEGO BB-8 (75187) set back in 2017. The LEGO Star Wars D-O (75278) set is slated to be released on April 19, a month ahead of the annual May the Fourth celebrations and promos.

Similar to its screen counterpart, this life-sized model of D-O (standing at almost 11 inches in height) emphasizes its monowheel form and its recognizable white and green color scheme. It should be noted that D-O’s wheel is fixed and does not rotate. It also comes with a base to keep it stable, its own UCS-style plaque and its own minifigure version similar to what you can find in LEGO Star Wars Rise of Skywalker sets such as the Resistance Y-wing Starfighter (75249) and Millennium Falcon (75257).

Similar to LEGO Star Wars UCS sets, this LEGO Star Wars D-O set is better built for display purposes rather than for its play features – which is very much limited to its head being able to turn from left to right, and tilted up and down. The antennas at the back of his head may also be adjusted to give it a wide range of non-verbal cues, giving D-O a sort of personality and range of emotions as seen in the film.

Andres from Zusammengebaut also posted a video about the LEGO Star Wars D-O as you can see below. Be sure to stay tuned here in our blogsite for more updates from the LEGO Booth at NYTF 2020.
LEGO is slowly revealing some of its new sets ahead of this year’s New York Toy Fair which will commence this weekend – and it looks like the Mandalorian and the Child (aka Baby Yoda) is getting an additional LEGO treatment. LEGO Shop@Home has now listed two new LEGO Star Wars the Mandalorian sets, including an earlier revealed BrickHeadz set dedicated to the duo.
Earlier this week, we saw the unintentional listing of Amazon Canada for a LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz The Mandalorian and the Child (75317), and this time around, LEGO finally confirms this as another entry in the growing number of BrickHeadz sets under the Star Wars theme.
Additionally, in a rather surprisingly welcomed move from LEGO, we can now expect a full LEGO set dedicated to the highly-rated Disney+ series – that includes the official LEGO Baby Yoda minifigure! The LEGO Star Wars The Razor Crest (75292) is slated to be released in September – just a month early before Season 2 of The Mandalorian series streams on Disney+. For most LEGO fans of the miniseries, the obvious selling point will be the inclusion of the much-hyped Baby Yoda minifig. Strictly speaking, Disney execs and writers are quick to point out that “The Child” is not in any way the toddler representation of the Master Jedi himself, but since fans were so adamant in referring to it as such, then Disney somehow let it slide.
The LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz The Mandalorian and the Child (75317) comes in at 295 pieces and will retail for $19.99 once it is released on August 1. The LEGO Star Wars The Razor Crest (75292) clocks in at 1,023 pieces with a retail price of $129.99, slated to be released on September 1.

This is one LEGO BrickHeadz that will take LEGO Star Wars fandom by storm. Promobricks managed to capture this now-deleted post from Amazon Canada that shows the latter listing a LEGO BrickHeadz Star Wars The Mandalorian and the Child (75317) set, together with a glimpse of what to expect from it.
The listing was obviously a bit early since someone from Amazon has to do some damage control. I assume that this set will be officially unveiled sometime during this weekend’s New York Toy Fair, but I guess Amazon got a bit excited so… Well, who wouldn’t especially now that the Child (aka Baby Yoda) now has an official LEGO set just in time to level up the hype for Season 2 of The Mandalorian which will arrive in Disney+ in October. This newest callback to the Star Wars spin-off series is the third set offered under the LEGO Star Wars The Mandalorian subtheme, following the AT-ST Raider (75254) and the Mandalorian Battle Pack (75267).
The LEGO BrickHeadz Star Wars The Mandalorian and the Child (75317) comes in at 295 pieces and will likely retail somewhere between 20 or 25 Euro, with a release date of August 1. Check out the product description below.

A few weeks ago, LEGO Ideas launched a voting campaign to hear what LEGO Star Wars fans have to say about what they want to see as the next Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) set. There were three choices to consider and now that the votes are finally in, it looks like we will be getting a LEGO Star Wars UCS Republic Gunship anytime soon.
The announcement was made over at the LEGO Ideas blogsite, where the iconic transport from the Star Wars prequels (Attack of the Clones) emerged as the top choice of more than half of those who voted. Following the Republic Gunship is the Nebulon B Escort Frigate, and the TIE Bomber.
Truth be told, I was expecting the Nebulon B to come up on top since this is a UCS set intended to be displayed with all its intricate details. Furthermore, we haven’t seen this frigate before in LEGO form so it will be nice to have a unique LEGO Star Wars set that wasn’t rehashed before. Nevertheless, since more than half of the votes were in favor of the Republic Gunship, then I guess that proves it to be more popular and appealing.
The LEGO Star Wars Republic Gunship (75021) from 2013 is currently the largest LEGO tie-in version of this ship with over 1,100 pieces. A UCS version is expected to be significantly larger.
Obviously there are no details yet on when this LEGO Star Wars UCS Republic Gunship will be arriving. My best guess is that we’re looking at either a January or May 2021 release date for that matter. As an extra surprise, those who participated in the voting process also has the chance of winning a free UCS Republic Gunship once it is released, together with a LEGO Star Wars Yoda (75255) set. Three winners will be randomly selected and will be contacted via email.
So what do you think of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars UCS Republic Gunship? Will you be looking forward to this? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
More 2020 LEGO licensed sets such as those from the Marvel, Star Wars and Minecraft franchises are on its way this summer. However, LEGO is still strictly putting a lid on most of them at the Nuremberg Toy except for some that visitors are allowed to see.
LEGO Star Wars 2020
As always, upcoming LEGO Star Wars are one of the most tightly guarded licensed themes and only the LEGO Star Wars 2020 Advent Calendar (75279) was revealed during the toy fair, and it is expected to be released sometime in September retailing for €29.99.
LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2020
Only one LEGO Marvel set was allowed to be seen and this is the first one under the theme. The LEGO Marvel Iron Man Bust (76165) is reported to be also bear the 18+ tag similar to the LEGO Architecture The White House (21054). It is expected to retail for €59.99 with an early release in May. I assume that this will be based on MCU’s version of Iron Man, and will somehow larger in scale as compared to the LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Bust (75227) which was exclusively released during the Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, and at Target stores.
It is most likely that the LEGO Marvel Iron Man Bust will be similar in scale as that of the LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Bust (75227).
LEGO Minecraft 2020
There will be the LEGO Minecraft Crafting 3.0 (21161) that will be released as the newer version of those that were released in 2014 (set21116) and 2017 (set 21135). It was also mentioned that a LEGO Minecraft Red Stone Battle (21163) set is also in the brick pipelines. There were no other set details that were revealed about these sets and that’s quite a bummer for fans of the LEGO Minecraft theme.
Another version the LEGO Minecraft Crafting Box will be released sometime in summer. The image above is from the LEGO Minecraft Crafting Box 2.0 (21135).
I am more interested in how that LEGO Marvel Iron Man Bust (76165) will turn out. Being larger as compared to other LEGO busts, I expect greater detail and more realistic design on his helmet and armor especially if it will accommodate the power core on his chest. It’s a fitting tribute to the legacy of Robert Downey Jr’s version of Iron Man as the whole MCU basically started with him. And having a release date this upcoming May will sure to see some official images pop-up anytime soon.
So what do you think about the rest of the sets 2020 LEGO licensed sets that were not exhibited at the toy fair? Are you impressed about them? Let me know in the comments below.
