The LEGO Movie 2 The Rexcelsior! (70839) Revealed at the London Toy Fair 2019

Summer seems to come early as LEGO finally lifted the veil on one of its second wave of LEGO Movie 2 sets at the London Toy Fair 2019. UK’s premiere toy fair has just kicked in, and LEGO is intent to make an impression. And what better way to do so through a set that represents the bold and daring character of the film’s newest brick hero. The LEGO Movie 2 The Rexcelsior! (70839) has just been revealed, and it boasts a pretty cool interior and plenty of play features befitting of a LEGO Movie 2 set.

70839 2

The Rexcelsior! – Rex Dangervest’s space abode – made its first appearance in the LEGO Movie 2’s official trailer where Emmet gets to know more about Rex and variety of things that he does. When I first saw the Rexcelsior, I immediately had this feeling that this is a most likely candidate to become a LEGO set, if not a direct-to-consumer (D2C) one. Glad to see that LEGO had this in mind all along. The LEGO Movie 2 The Rexcelsior! (70839) comes in at 1,826 pieces and comes with Rex Dangervest and Emmet minifigures. By far, I think this is the first alternate version of Emmet that we get to see among so many that are generously included across several TLM2 sets. This particular remake of Emmet is comically called Stubble Trouble Emmet owing to the fact that he just dotted his face using markers to mimic those cool and manly, facial hairs that Rex has.

70839 1

The Rexcelsior! (70839) also features several raptor microfigures, 3 of which are a first in any LEGO set. It also includes two nanofigures of Emmet and Rex, and microbuilds of Emmet’s house, a forklift, interaptors, and a dropship. I guess LEGO intends the Rexcelsior (70839) to be a microscaled build similar to the likes of the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle (71043) and LEGO Marvel Superheroes The SHIELD Helicarrier (76042) though obviously in a much smaller size coming in at around 1,800++ pieces.

The LEGO Movie 2 The Rexcelsior! (70839) is expected to retail for $149.99 or £ 139.99, and will be available to all LEGO fans beginning May 1, 2019. Read on for the set’s full product description below. We don’t have additional images of this set as of the moment except for some close-up ones of Emmet and Rex. I’ll give you an update as more images come in later on. For more info on the current TLM2 sets, visit shop.LEGO.com

LEGO Returns this Year at the London Toy Fair 2019

Last year, the LEGO Group opted to skip the highly celebrated annual London Toy Fair and other toy exhibits which it traditionally attended to. Though there were no official reasons that the company mentioned, it was speculated that the reason for such is the slight decline in sales that LEGO experienced in general, and the significant change in leadership that it needed to go through. However, for this year, LEGO returns to the floor of the London Toy Fair 2019 or to be exact, at one of the venue’s showroom to flaunt its latest sets. According to the event’s floor plan, LEGO will not be setting up a booth at the floor area like it usually does but will be presenting in the Olympia Room, near the Visitors Entrance at the West Ground side of the venue. The choice of having an enclosed room as an exhibit area could mean that LEGO is gearing up to exhibit a significant number of sets, mostly coming from the LEGO Movie 2 tie-ins.

70841
The LEGO Movie 2 Benny’s Space Squad (70841) has proven to be one of LEGO’s most popular set to date.

There is no information yet as of this posting if new and still, yet-to-be-revealed sets will be featured by LEGO inside the Olympia Room, and if ever media outlets will be allowed to take images. Traditionally, there are sets that can be photographed during these events, while others are off limits from camera lens.

Whatever is the case, it’s a great comeback for LEGO after a year of hiatus from these events. And I hope that the London Toy Fair 2019 is just the start of a series of toy exhibits that LEGO will actively participate in this year. We still have the Nuremburg Toy Fair in Germany to be held from January 30 to February 3, and the New York Toy Fair from February 16 to 19. Keep tabs with our blog site for updates regarding LEGO’s announcements during these toy fair events. Be sure to subscribe by clicking on the red notification bell at the bottom of this page.

Are We To See LEGO Fabuland Figures in Future The LEGO Movie 2 Sets?

Warner Bros Animation has released its latest teaser spot with a very interesting twist. We all know by now that the LEGO Movie 2 is chockfull of cameos and references coming from LEGO’s diverse range of home-grown themes and third-party licensed sets. Pop culture icons (though with some mild, political undertones) such as Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is also rendered in minifigure form. The latest teaser also has a very brief, but significant cameo towards the end, which is loaded with nostalgia and the possibility that we can get to see them again in future TLM2 sets. If you haven’t seen it yet or just missed it during the last 2 or 3 seconds of the teaser, then here’s the video once again that clearly shows a couple of LEGO Fabuland figures as posted in the LEGO Movie 2’s official Twitter account.

AFOLs quickly noticed these LEGO Fabuland figures amongst this team of LEGO minifigures, minidolls and Duplo figures. For those who are new to LEGO, Fabuland is a theme that began in 1979 and lasted for more than a decade until 1989. It is designed for younger children and features animal characters in a town-like setting. Imagine an old-school version of Nintendo’s Animal Crossing and you’ll get the idea.

02 lego fabuland and fox suit girl 1
A screenshot of a LEGO Fabuland figure.
01 lego fabuland and fox suit girl 2
Another LEGO Fabuland figure is seen further back.

As you can see from the above screenshots, the LEGO Movie 2 adds a couple of LEGO Fabuland figures as cameos in the film. We get to see a Fabuland Bulldog in front and a gray Fabuland Dog in the third row. As far as the LEGO Movies are concerned, this is the first time that these LEGO Fabuland figures had their actual screen time since they were only casually mentioned in the first film. This is only speculation at this point, but since LEGO has basically broken away with the tradition of offering minifigs, minidolls, and Duplo characters in separate themes and boxes, can we expect therefore that the next wave of LEGO Movie 2 sets will include actual LEGO Fabuland characters? We saw how LEGO is very much willing to bring back classic minfigs that alludes to the Classic Space theme such as those from Benny’s Space Squad (70841), and the rumored re-emergence of classic LEGO Star Wars sets and minfigures as part of LEGO’s 20th Year Celebration of the LEGO Star Wars theme. So is it possible that we will see the same treatment offered to LEGO Fabuland figures? The possibility is surely exciting.

00 lego fabuland and fox suit girl 1
A new Fox Suit Girl minifigure is also seen in the teaser spot.
03 lego fabuland and fox suit girl 2
It is likely that the Fox Suit Girl minifigure may be a part of a second series of TLM2 CMF.

In addition to these LEGO Fabuland characters, perhaps a second wave of the LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures is now in the works. This is not far-fetched considering that LEGO did the same with the LEGO Batman Movie CMF Series 1 and Series 2. The idea is spurred by the appearance of a new costumed character, now dubbed as Fox Suit Girl. Again, these are just speculations at this point but it is something really cool if it turns to be true. It is highly unlikely that we’ll get confirmation from this soon, even if LEGO’s presence is very noticeable at the London Toy Fair that is currently happening at Olympia London. In any case, a second series of TLM2 CMF is surely welcomed, and we’ll have plenty more ideas of what characters can be possibly included in the series once we see the LEGO Movie 2 in theaters on February 8.

From the Rumor Mill: LEGO Star Wars 20th Anniversary Sets and Minifigures Identified

2019 is a special year for the majority of LEGO fans since this year marks the 20th year milestone of one of LEGO’s longest running licensed theme. LEGO has already revealed its intention of coming up with an exclusive line of LEGO Star Wars commemorative sets when it unveiled its special, 20 Years of LEGO Star Wars logo. Needless to say, whatever sets and minifigures that will make it to the cut of this prized, limited-edition anniversary sets will closely be monitored by the excited majority of LEGO Star Wars fans. Thanks to intel gathered by German LEGO fan site Stone Wars, we now have an idea on what these LEGO Star Wars 20th anniversary sets are, and how their minifigures will look like.

03 lego star wars anniversary

It should be noted that though LEGO has released and rehashed many LEGO Star Wars sets in the past, the LEGO Star Wars 20th anniversary sets are unique in themselves because of certain commemorative minifigures included with them. According to Stone Wars, these are the upcoming LEGO Star Wars sets that will have the special commemorative minifigures.

It is also rumored that these commemorative minifigs will also retain the exact same look of their predecessors from 20 years ago: they will sport the original yellow skin tone (except of course for Darth Vader and Lando), and the same torso and leg prints. Now I understand that devout LEGO Star Wars collectors may be shaking their heads in disappointment considering how their precious collection may depreciate in value because of this. However, LEGO was kind enough to include one very distinctive feature to these commemorative LEGO Star Wars minifigures. They will all have a special print on the back of their torso in big bold characters that say: ’20 Years, LEGO Star Wars’. Collectors will surely welcome this nice gesture from LEGO, and it will definitely help in distinguishing these new LEGO Star Wars minifigures from their original prototypes from two decades ago.

Other than the special print at the back of these minifigures, each of them will also come with a commemorative minifig display tile similar to those included in the LEGO CMF line, the difference will be that the studs from the former are placed near the edge of the tile. The minifigure stand also features the same unique print, and the name of the LEGO Star Wars minifigure emblazoned on the larger part of the tile.

Just a bit of a disclaimer though: as the title of this story suggests, this is all but a rumor until such time that LEGO confirms these LEGO Star Wars 20th anniversary sets and minifigures, or a barrage of official images starts to come in. As of now, we’ll keep our radars open and I’ll update you accordingly as new info comes in. While waiting, be sure to check out this year’s newest LEGO Star Wars sets at shop.LEGO.com

LEGO Teams Up With Chevrolet Once Again to Create the First Life-Sized, Custom LEGO Chevy Silverado MOC

The LEGO Group is teaming up once again with Chevrolet to create another brick feat following its life-sized Batmobile from 2017. If you recall two years ago, LEGO partnered with Chevy to render into bricks its larger-than-life concept car of the Batmobile based from the LEGO Batman Movie Batmobile (70905) set. The outcome is simply breathtaking, and this time, LEGO and Chevrolet are set to wow its fans once again with another brick-built creation that celebrates the next hit brickfilm, The LEGO Movie 2. Check out the following video of this life-sized, custom LEGO Chevy Silverado MOC courtesy of Chevrolet.

Taking a total of 18 master builders and 2,000 hours to build, this life-sized custom LEGO Chevy Silverado MOC is made from a total of 334,544 LEGO bricks and pieces. This brightly red, life-sized creation is based on Chevy’s new 2019 Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss – a new feat for LEGO considering that this is very first Chevy to be rendered as such. It may not have the ingenious mobility and engineering complexity as that of the fully drivable and life-sized LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron (42083), but it is still an admirable MOC nonetheless.

The best part of this tie-up between LEGO and Chevrolet is that the LEGO Movie 2 will also feature in the big screen a smaller, brick version of the Silverado High Country, and will make an appearance in one of its scenes. Will this eventually be translated to an official LEGO set? Well, we can only speculate as of this moment. Read on for the complete press release of this life-sized, custom LEGO Chevy Silverado MOC.

DETROIT — Chevrolet and students from the Oxford Community School’s FIRST LEGO® League and Detroit’s Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary’s A World in Motion Program unveiled the first-ever full-size LEGO® Silverado today at the North American International Auto Show just ahead of the show opening to the public. The model is an exact life-size replica of the all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss, and it is the first full-size Chevy vehicle built entirely of LEGO bricks.

The LEGO Silverado continues the partnership between Chevy and Warner Bros. Pictures that began in 2017 with “The LEGO Batman Movie” and the LEGO Batmobile from Chevy. This partnership builds on the Silverado marketing efforts that launched earlier this month.

A custom mini-build of the Silverado High Country will make an appearance in the new big-screen animated adventure “The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part” when it debuts in theaters on Feb. 8. In this fun and action-packed sequel, the heroes of “The LEGO Movie” reunite to save their beloved city from a new threat: LEGO DUPLO® invaders from space.

“Chevrolet is once again thrilled to be working with Warner Bros. to integrate the brand and one of our most iconic products – Silverado – into ‘The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part,’” said Sandor Piszar, director of Chevrolet Truck marketing. “The themes of determination and teamwork in the new movie align perfectly with our Chevy brand values and we are sure that the all-new Silverado has the features, technologies and strength that would help Emmet, Lucy and their friends as they take on exciting new challenges.”

Eighteen specially trained LEGO Master Builders spent more than 2,000 hours hand-selecting and placing each of the 334,544 pieces on the red LEGO® Silverado, which has unique working lights and graphic details.

LEGO® Silverado Fast Facts:

  • The LEGO® Silverado model is 72 inches (6 feet) high, 240 inches (20 feet) long and 96 inches (8 feet) wide.
  • Total weight: 3,307 pounds.
  • Total number of LEGO bricks used to build the LEGO® Silverado: 334,544. Each piece was hand-selected and placed by a specially trained builder.
  • Most common LEGO brick used: red 2×8 stud brick.
  • The LEGO® Silverado took 18 builders more than 2,000 hours to assemble.
  • The LEGO® Silverado was designed and assembled by LEGO Master Builders in the LEGO Group’s Model Shop in Enfield, Connecticut.

The LEGO Movie 2 To Feature US Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Truth be told, this piece of news caught me blindsided. I know that the LEGO Movie franchise (both the first and upcoming film) has its share of wacky characters that are very surprising, to say the least, but this one really caught me by surprise. First reported by USA Today, the LEGO Movie 2 now adds another sort of pop culture/political icon in its brick mix with the cameo of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, or fondly referred to as RBG by her followers.

lego movie 2 RBG

This minifigure version of the oldest sitting Justice comes, of course, with her court robe, distinct hairstyle, and a gavel. The reason for including RBG in the LEGO Movie 2 is a bit of a mystery, though I am inclined to believe that LEGO and Warner Bros have no intention of whatsoever in giving the film a political undertone. According to director Mike Mitchell, “These movies are so full of surprises. And we were thinking, ‘Who’s the last person you would think to see in a LEGO film as a minifig?’ Ruth Bader Ginsburg!” No further details regarding RBG’s role in the film were mentioned, but my guess is that the inclusion of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in the LEGO Movie 2 has something to do with keeping up with one of the film’s underlying message of empowering women, and particularly dispelling the common myth that LEGO is primarily a toy for boys. The USA Today also reports that the role of Justice RBG fits well to the sequel’s story considering that her minifigure version is part of the younger sister’s brick-built world.  If that is the case, then the younger sister (who is probably 6 or 7 by now considering the years that have passed since the events of Taco Tuesday), may prove to be a creative builder herself.

To fan the excitement over this version of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Mitchell also reveals that RBG’s minifigure version on the big screen will also have its physical, minifigure counterpart. “So there will be a real Ruth Bader Ginsburg toy that boys and girls can play with. It will even come with a gavel,” says Mitchell. LEGO is clearly alluding to the possibility of a second wave of LEGO Movie 2 sets that are now in the works, and we can expect its reveal sometime in June or July as part of LEGO’s wave of new sets for the second half of 2019. For the meantime, be sure to check out the first wave of LEGO Movie 2 sets at LEGO Shop@Home, and its upcoming LEGO Movie 2 CMF Series.

So what do you think about the choice of having Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg as an official minifigure? Do you think it’s a good call on the part of LEGO and Warner Bros? Let us know in the comments below.

LEGO Reveals the Official Character Names of the LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023)

LEGO has finally unveiled the official names of the characters that comprise the LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023). We had a closer look at their official images, and we already know how they’re distributed per box, and now LEGO has finally made the reveal giving us an official description of this new CMF series.

First off, we have some of the main stars of the sequel and also those from the previous film, including some new for 2019 minifigure costumes and accessories such as Emmet’s headphone wig, Lucy’s hood, and Rex’s Fedora and wig. President Business also comes with a new golf club accessory while Benny has a new mechanical arm, toolbox, and sporting a rather tough expression. Unikitty is being her usual self, beaming with positivity.

The iconic characters of the classic fairy tale Wizard of Oz are now rendered in LEGO minifigs. LEGO also went the extra mile to make this quartet extra special: we have a new Dorothy hairpiece, new hat accessories for Tin Man and Scarecrow, and a new lion’s mane accessory for the Cowardly Lion. Add the Wicked Witch from LEGO Dimensions (71221) or from the Ultimate Bat Mobile (70917), then you have one great classic collection of fairy tale characters.

The LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023) Box Distribution Revealed

LEGO has officially revealed the upcoming LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023) via its Facebook page. We are also aware that each box contains 60 minifigures, however, we don’t have an inkling on how the 20 minifigures in the series are distributed. Much so if LEGO opted to throw in a certain chase minifigure, similar to what it did with the LEGO Movie CMF Series 18 (71021) Classic Policeman minifig. But thanks to Promobricks and BrickSanity, we now have an idea about the LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023) box distribution, and how many complete sets can we get out of each box.

71023 box distribution 3

Thankfully, it is confirmed that there are three complete sets included in each box of 60 minifigures. And to make it even easier, Promobricks has also confirmed that each row of 20 minifigs corresponds exactly to one complete series, virtually removing any efforts of feeling your way through each blind bag if ever you can get your hands on an unopened box. This is a much-welcomed gesture from LEGO, and as far as I remember a first one of sorts.

One thing that you’ll notice is that the blind bag for the LEGO Movie 2 CMF is also considerably larger than its predecessors, similar to the size of the LEGO Unikitty Collectible Figures (41775). Furthermore, according to Promobricks, the material used for the blind bag is somewhat thinner than before which makes feeling your way through each minifigure relatively easier.

71023 box distribution 1

Since the LEGO Movie 2 Collectible Minifigures (71023) box distribution has already been revealed, making it much easier to acquire a complete set, we can expect a lot of LEGO collectors rushing their way to LEGO Stores at the end of the month to be one of the firsts to get an unopened box. The LEGO Movie 2 CMF (71023) is not yet listed at shop.LEGO.com, but you can bet that some LEGO physical stores already have them stocked in their storerooms.

The Spider-Man: Far From Home Teaser Trailer Has Landed, and What LEGO Marvel Superheroes Tie-In Sets Can We Expect

Earlier today, Sony Pictures and Marvel Entertainment gave us a glimpse of how things will be like after our Marvel heroes overcome the post-Thanos, finger-snapping catastrophe that rocked the MCU to its core, and it looks like everything’s back to normal. It’s a breath of fresh air actually, especially after seeing Tom Holland’s Spider-Man crumble into dust as one of the casualties in Avengers: Infinity War, it’s nice to see the friendly neighborhood spidey back in action and just trying to appreciate his well-earned vacation. In case you haven’t seen it yet, here’s the Spider-Man: Far From Home teaser trailer, and let’s spend a few minutes talking about the possible LEGO Marvel Superheroes tie-in sets that LEGO has in store.

Like other MCU trailers in the past, the teaser trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home is full of hints and references to possible LEGO sets to be revealed sometime in May. Though there are a lot of rumors making its round over the internet regarding what LEGO tie-in sets we can expect, there are some scenes in the trailer that we would really love to see re-imagined as an official LEGO set.

The first minute of the trailer shows Peter Parker and his friends looking forward to a great summer vacation in Europe, and judging from the fact that this is the first time that Peter is getting his passport, the Far From Home subtitle may probably refer to his supposedly peaceful vacation time together with his high school buddies. When everything seems to be running smoothly as expected, Nick Fury enters the scene, knocking off Ned with a S.H.I.E.L.D.-grade tranq, and practically hijacking Peter Parker’s summer vacation, enlisting his aid to stop a series of never before seen threats.

First off, we see one of the first Elemental villains in the film, very much the same as that of the character of Sandman from the Tobey Maguire era. It is highly unlikely that this is a rebooted version of Sandman, but considering how the supervillain has recently appeared as a new LEGO minifigure in Spider-Man’s Spider Crawler (76114), then I’m open to the possibility that a LEGO tie-in set may arrive including this troublesome enemy.

01 Untitled 1
Screengrab from Sony Pictures.

Next, we have this scene at the iconic Tower Bridge in London where the Elementals seem to be causing havoc, and where Spider-Man swings off to meet them head-on. Though we already have a similar LEGO set that portrays Spidey in action similarly located at a suspension bridge (Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle 76057), it will be great to have this scene from the trailer turned to an actual LEGO set. I know it’s a long-shot considering that historically among MCU films, it is only the Avengers titles that get to see a larger share of LEGO tie-in sets. But adding to this our wishlist of LEGO what-ifs is a welcomed one.

02 Untitled 8
Screengrab from Sony Pictures.

There was also a very brief shot, given only a few frames of airtime, that shows another high-powered baddie that is highly rumored to be included in an official LEGO set. This towering, fiery hot and melting giant is said to be MCU’s version of Molten Man – one of Spider-Man’s first supervillain enemies which made his debut in 1965’s The Amazing Spider-Man #28.  Rumor has it that a certain LEGO Marvel Superheroes Molten Man’s Battle (76128) set will be released as one of the three LEGO tie-in sets slated to be revealed in May. With a price point that is said to be at $30, it will be interesting to see how this fiery colossus will look like when built using LEGO pieces. My guess is that it may follow the size and design of other big builds in the LEGO MCU genre such as seen with Ant-Man/Giant-Man in Super Hero Airport Battle (76051) and DCEU’s version of the God of War, Aries, in Wonder Woman Warrior Battle (76075).

03 Untitled 2
Screengrab from Sony Pictures.

I’m not really sure what’s happening here, but this stealthy, alternate Spider suit seems to be a shout out to one of Spidey’s comic book roots, specifically to the gothic styled Spider-Man Noir from Earth 90214. For the record, LEGO has not yet released an official Spider-Man Noir minifigure, save for a digital version of the character as seen in the LEGO Marvel Superheroes video game released in November 2017. LEGO fans of this alternate version of Spider-Man will certainly love to see him rendered to an official minifigure, but we have to wait and see if LEGO intends to give us this character.

04 Untitled 3
Screengrab from Sony Pictures.

lego spider man noir

This next scene, which is also shot near a bridge over a river (Paris, perhaps?), shows us another Elemental villain that Spider-Man has to contend with. If fighting against sand and fire monsters are not enough, then why not throw in a water elemental just for good measure? This teaser trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home will leave us guessing on the nature and character of this water golem, but again rumors circulating within the LEGO community points to the possibility that this character may in-fact be Hydro-Man from the comics, and that we might see him included in an official LEGO set as well. Rumored to be called as LEGO Marvel Superheroes Hydro-Man’s Attack (76129), this set is expected to sell for $40 and may likewise involve a big build of the Elemental villain.

Finally, we get to see an all too familiar character and his fishbowl helmet that is kind of hard not to ignore. Jack Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio is kind of an ambiguous figure in Spider-Man: Far From Home. With Gyllenhaal already mentioning that the classic Spider-Man villain will be actually teaming up with Spidey as a ‘good guy’ in taking down these menacing elemental forces, it leaves one to think on how the MCU will actually pull this out since Mysterio has been, and will always be, one of Marvel’s formidable villains. It will surely be interesting to see how Mysterio will turn out as an official LEGO minifigure, and given what we see in the trailer, it is most likely that Mysterio’s minifig version will be included in the Hydro-Man’s Attack (76129) set.

Lastly, another LEGO set is rumored to be included in the Spider-Man: Far From Home subtheme and this one is most likely to raise even more questions until such time that we see Avengers: Endgame in cinemas. The LEGO Marvel Superheroes Stark’s Plane and Drone Attack (76130) is said to be the largest among the three sets, with a tag price of $70. I’ve watched the Far From Home trailer several times just to be sure that I didn’t miss out on any subtle details that may point out to an aircraft that Tony himself might have built. However, it is kind of intriguing to see that there was no mention or any scene whatsoever of any particular aircraft that may give a hint to this set. It leads to a lot of questions actually because we really don’t know if Tony Stark has survived the events of Avengers: Endgame, or will he even make an appearance in Spider-Man: Far From Home. In any case, it is possible that this rumored LEGO set will actually turn out to be just a rumor, or it could also be that Sony and Marvel are putting a very tight lid on these crucial details right now. I’m inclined to believe in the latter since it’s kind of odd to create a set that includes Stark’s plane without a Tony Stark minifig included with it.

So just to give a recap, here are some of the LEGO Marvel Superheroes Spider-Man: Far From Home sets that are rumored to be released in May:

  • Molten Man’s Battle (76128) – $30
  • Hydro-Man’s Attack (76129) – $40
  • Stark’s Plane and Drone Attack (76130) – $70

I’m not certain if these will be the actual set names for these, and we have to wait and see if they will include the characters and minifigures that we hope to have later on. For now, be sure to check shop.LEGO.com for the latest LEGO Spider-Man sets. Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man: Far From Home will arrive in theaters on July 5, 2019.

The LEGO Movie 2 Sweet Mayhem’s Pod (853875) Revealed

Hot on the heels of the LEGO Movie 2 Emmet’s Pod (853874), the same Promobricks reader who shared images of this newest collectible set, has also revealed that the LEGO Movie 2 theme will not have one, but two LEGO pods as well. Thanks again to Promobricks, we now have our first look at the LEGO Movie 2 Sweet Mayhem’s Pod (853875).

Coming in at 28 pieces, the LEGO Movie 2 Sweet Mayhem’s Pod (853875) comes in a white-colored pod with, of course, Sweet Mayhem herself. The pod also sports a lenticular front panel showing the LEGO Movie 2 title and an image of Sweet Mayhem with her helmet on. I’m curious though on why LEGO did not opt to include Mayhem’s helmet in this particular pod, choosing instead to include her pony-tailed hair accessory.

The special parts included in the pod itself are quite interesting: from the heart-shaped plate to several clips and hinges. I’m not really sure what the pod is trying to replicate with these very limited parts – it may be like a mini-cockpit of some sorts, but I’ll leave this to your imagination on trying to figure this one out.

Similar to the Emmet’s Pod, the LEGO Movie 2 Sweet Mayhem’s Pod (853875) was accidentally released earlier than expected, with several displayed sets immediately returned to the storeroom until their official release date sometime in February. Unlike Emmet’s minifigure which you can practically get from almost all LEGO sets, the Sweet Mayhem’s Pod (853875) offers a good opportunity to get this particular minidoll version without breaking the bank. An alternate version of Sweet Mayhem, where she particularly wears a helmet, can be found in the following sets: Introducing Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi (70824); Sweet Mayhem’s Systar Starship! (70830); and MetalBeard’s Heavy Metal Motor Trike! (70834).

Once again, a big thanks to Promobricks for sharing these images.
