Yesterday, images of our first LEGO Ninjago summer 2023 set surfaced which gave us an impression of what to expect from the new and upcoming Dragons Rising subtheme. There are still plenty of things that we don’t know about this latest series. But fortunately, LEGO.com has now dropped a ton of new information introducing the many different sets that comprise this wave.

LEGO has officially announced the release of its new LEGO Ninjago Summer 2023 sets. With this new release, the LEGO Group aims to introduce a new world of Ninjago that features exciting characters, products, and elements while staying true to its iconic legacy. The products and TV show will be launched on June 1st.

A New Ninjago World: A Perfect Blend of Old and New

The new LEGO Ninjago Summer 2023 sets will feature not only the well-known ninjas but also introduce new and fantastic ninjas and dragon characters. LEGO conducted research in 2021 and found that children wanted dragons to be a more prominent part of the new Ninjago story. In response, the LEGO Group created a new world of merged realms where dragons will be front and center, and where new and old Ninjago characters will have to come together.

Meet the New Ninjas and Dragons

Two new ninja characters, Sora and Arin, as well as a baby dragon character named Riyu will be introduced in this wave of LEGO Ninjago Summer 2023 sets. These new characters will have to unlock their true potential to find the well-known ninjas who have gone missing in this new world of merged realms. It will be a challenging journey for the new generation of Ninjago characters, who must defend the source dragons to unite their world forever or risk total destruction.

Usually, we have to wait until August to get our hands on the latest Technic sets, but this year, we’re in for a treat. The John Deere 948L II Skidder (42157) and Bugatti Bolide Agile Blue (42158) sets are now available on LEGO.com, with the NASA Mars Perseverance Rover coming soon (42158).

On a personal note, I do appreciate this LEGO Technic version of the NASA Mars Perseverance Rover. It will surely be cool to see if this LEGO Technic set can be equipped with power functions and features. It has been a while since we have had a LEGO set like this, and will certainly look great together with other NASA-themed LEGO sets such as the majestic LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309) from 2017, and the NASA Mars Science Laboratory Curiosity Rover (21104) from 2014.
