Exclusive Target LEGO Star Wars Micro Millennium Falcon Polybag Now Available – Sold Out in Some Areas.

Since the launch of this year’s Target Toy Book a few weeks ago, some leery eyed collectors were closely eyeing on a relatively, unappealing piece of promotion, or so as we thought. For a minimum purchase of any LEGO Star Wars products worth $30 and above at any Target stores starting today and throughout the whole week, entitles you to a free LEGO Star Wars Micro Millennium Falcon Polybag. Alternately, you may also opt to purchase this polybag separately for $4.99.

legotarget2017

The polybag promo comes with 20 LEGO grey pieces including a clear bar piece and a printed minifigure stand. If not for the printed plate and bar, I guess this one will be sitting on store shelves for a long, long, time. However, what happened next is quite the contrary. We’ve received reports that the said Micro MF polybags are now sold-out in some Target stores.

Apparently, the polybag was a hit for more unconventional reasons. LEGO Star Wars minifig collectors may have struck gold with these minifigure baseplates – a good way to flaunt their prized collection. However for a price point of $5 per polybag for a single LEGO piece, I think it is too much of a haul for me.

Well, I guess even LEGO collectors have different tastes and preferences. I just hope that this poly will not suffer the same fate as that of its way larger sibling, the UCS Millennium Falcon (75192). Be sure to check out with your local Target store first if they still have the LEGO Star Wars Micro Millennium Falcon polybag (DPCI# 204-00-0266) lying around in the LEGO section. Thanks to FBTB for sharing these images.

More 2018 LEGO Star Wars Set Names and Images Surfaced.

After the reveal of the Sandspeeder (75204) and the Target limited edition LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz Rey and Kylo (41489), we now have several images coming in that gives us a glimpse at other LEGO Star Wars sets included in this wave. Slated to be released in January next year, we have what it seems 13 new sets, 4 of which have images that are already circulating the Internet since two days ago via Reddit. Check these out.

Microfighters: Millenium Falcon (75193)

75193 Millennium Falcon

Microfighters: First Order TIE Fighter (75194)

75194 First Order TIE Fighter

 Tatooine Battle Pack  (75198)

 75198 Tatooine Battle Pack

 General Grievous’ Combat Speeder (75199)

75199 General Grievous Combat Speeder

Other LEGO Star Wars sets that are said to be a part of the January 2018 release are as follows:

Microfighters

No mention of what minifigures are included in these sets as of this posting.

  • Ski Speeder vs. First Order Walker (75195)
  • A-Wing vs. TIE Silencer (75196)
Battle Packs

First Order Specialists Battle Pack (75197) – I assume that this set will include a selection of never before seen First Order troopers, both from The Force Awakens, and The Last Jedi not far away from what LEGO released last year with the First Order Battle Pack (75132) and First Order Transport Speeder Battle Pack (75166). Set 75197 is said to include 3 to 5 First Order Troopers.

Regular Sets

Ahch-To Island Training (75200) – if this is indeed an official LEGO set, then we might finally have an old man Luke minifigure that LEGO has been hinting on for quite some time already. Tyler also previously created a MOC around this scene, so be sure to check it out.

????? (75201) – described as a diorama looking set, I guess it has something to do with the set depicting a particular background similar to that of the Battle on Takodana (75139) and Battle on Scarif (75171) sets. 75201 is said to feature a redesigned Captain Phasma, and First Order disguised Finn and Rose. Images of these minifigures have been circulating via Instagram so its just a matter of clicks before you can find them.

Defense/Battle on Crait (75202) – similar to 75201, this set may also feature a diorama-like, outside battle scene but this time, on the crimson red sands of the planet Crait.  If our predictions are correct, then this set might include the long overdue Resistance Skimmer that we are waiting to see. Tyler made a custom LEGO Resistance Skimmer MOC a few months ago, so it’s kind of interesting to see how the official LEGO set will turn out. The set includes four minifigures: Poe Dameron, Two Resistance Soldiers, and one mystery minifig.

Buildable Figures

We’re not sure if these are all rehash or re-releases, but most likely it could be the former.

  • Boba Fett (75533)
  • Darth Vader (75534)

We’ll keep our radar open for more LEGO Star Wars news and updates so be sure to stick around.

2018 LEGO Ninjago Official Images Now Up – Features Season 8, Sons of Garmadon.

Brickset has updated their database to include several new images of LEGO Ninjago’s 2018 sets. It is bound to happen actually, with Season 5 of the Ninjago TV series announced already during this year’s San Diego Comic Con last July. It is basically a continuation of where the previous season, Hands of Time, left off. The sneak peek trailer featured during the SDCC panel featured a gang of Ninjago doppelgangers donned with kabuki masks that may prove to be equal rivals to our teen ninjas. To top it off, these copycats are also equipped with the same high tech weaponry and gear that may prove to be a handful. Little is known about the season’s plot except that the so called Sons of Garmadon will stop at nothing to revive Lord Garmadon from the Temple of Resurrection.

There is no confirmation yet on when the new Season 8 series of LEGO Ninjago will air, but we’ll update you as soon as new information comes in. For the mean time, check out these images.

It looks like LEGO is fond of releasing rehashed sets nowadays. The ripcord powered spinners are an obvious shout out to LEGO’s previous Ninjago spinners, though looking at the Kai – Spinjitzu Master set, I am interested to have a closer look at that new minifigure design on Kai, and of the rest of the team. As per Brickset’s posting, each ninja will be having a new spinner of its own – Nya (70634), Jay (70635), Zane (70636), and Cole (70637). This upcoming theme also seems to give that need for speed vibe, with its emphasis on high speed vehicles and chase scenes.

Brickset has also listed several sets that are yet to be revealed. What interest me the most is the last set on the theme which is called The Temple of Resurrection (70643). Brickset tagged a rather curious element or character which is a baby. I assume that this will be the newer baby minifigure that has been recently introduced in LEGO City. But including it in a set where the supposed resurrection of Lord Garmadon will take place, well, it sounds a bit scary. Will Garmadon require a baby in order for him to be revived? I guess we just have to wait until LEGO Ninjago Season 8 officially airs next year.

Save Mushroom Kingdom from the Clutches of the Custom LEGO Bowser MOC!

What’s better than a custom Super Mario and Yoshi MOC? Well, but of course – a custom Super Mario, Yoshi, AND a Bowser MOC! Yup, you heard it right, because just after Tyler’s latest super cool Mario MOC from Super Mario Odyssey, now comes the most iconic turtle baddie of all time – Bowser!

Untitled 5 1

To begin with, this custom LEGO Bowser is absolutely spot-on! I couldn’t overemphasize how this next brick-built creation from Tyler is so close to how we imagine Bowser to be. The scale and color combination is superb. Admittedly, it was quite a fun challenge for Tyler and in fact, it took him some time before he got Bowser just right. For example, if you look closely at Bowser’s head, you’ll see a lot of different angles and weird shapes. Coming up with Bowser’s shell is also kind of tough considering the relative difficulty of coming up with domed shapes using a combination of LEGO plates and pieces. Nevertheless, the result was all worth it.

Untitled 3 1
Untitled 4 1

The level of detail that Tyler added to Bowser’s head is very impressive. He even added several hinge pieces for the mouth and jaw to make him look more menacing, plus on the lower jaw, you’ll see that Tyler added a sort of a movable lip to add more expression to Bowser’s already intimidating stare. The mouth completely opens and closes with his teeth and jaw on perfect alignment.

Untitled 6 1

As it turns out, Bowser’s shell is also removable and you can easily replace it with any color that you want. It is made of many LEGO panel pieces that are hinged on a central piece.

Untitled 7

Due to the sheer size and weight of this LEGO Bowser MOC, it is understandable that movement along its points of articulation may somehow be limited. Nevertheless, Tyler managed to add some play features that allow some minimal movement on its arms, hip and feet. Bowser’s fingers can also move and his hands can hold a weapon or two if you wish. I love how the hands turned out, with its menacing claws and joints.

Untitled 8

In case you’re wondering how this custom LEGO Bowser will fare with Tyler’s earlier rendition of Mario, well, here they are with both MOCs scaled just right.

Untitled 9

I would certainly want to see this iconic pair standing side by side on my LEGO workstation. Here’s Tyler with more about this LEGO Bowser custom build.

If you wish to add Bowser to your roster of brick-built Super Mario characters, then be sure to check out Build Better Bricks on how to come up with your own. While you’re at it, be sure to see Tyler’s building instructions on how to make your very own Mario from Super Mario Odyssey, and everyone’s favorite Nintendo dinosaur, Yoshi. Happy building!

Hello, it’s me… LEGO Mario!

If there is any Nintendo game that gets better and better with each release, I have to give credit to Super Mario. I remember the time that I played this 8-bit game on a Nintendo Family Computer or FamiCom. This was my very first dive into the gaming scene, and I was hooked since then. Since its inception in 1985, Nintendo just kept on pushing the boundary of gameplay with Super Mario. With the advent of the Switch, Mario is now taken at a whole new level with a lot of new characters, and an awesome sandbox type of environment to explore. Super Mario Odyssey, which was officially released a few weeks ago, is now considered as the fastest selling Mario game in the US,  selling  2 million copies in just 3 days after its release last October 27. It is proof of how the humble plumber from Mushroom Kingdom is still very close to everyone’s heart.

To celebrate the release Mario’s next adventure in Super Mario Odyssey, Tyler got busy again in his studio and the result is short of breathtaking – it is a custom, LEGO Mario from Super Mario Odyssey, together with his new pal, Cappy!

Untitled 1

Tyler created Mario in a similar scale to that of his custom LEGO Yoshi MOC which he did before. Though it may look great to have this brick-built Mario mount on the back of Yoshi as an added play feature seen from the video game, Tyler opted not to so we can better appreciate the articulation on these MOCs.

Untitled 2

Similar to the Yoshi figure, there are a lot of ball joints in this custom built Mario that added plenty of movement and articulation to this set. From its ankles, hips, arms and neck, you can add plenty of motion on this MOC without compromising its stability. The joints add more life and fluidity to the build, which is only fitting considering how dynamic Mario’s character is in Odyssey. Tyler even added that extra play feature of adding movement to Mario’s mouth using some hinge pieces. It adds a little more expression to his face, together with the head’s movement.

Untitled 3

Untitled 4

I think one of the best features of this custom LEGO Mario is Tyler’s rendition of Mario’s newest companion, Cappy. Tyler nailed it perfectly when he recreated those pair of wide-opened googly eyes on Mario’s cap, and the cool thing is, you can easily switch back into Mario’s classic cap with its iconic logo. The classic M logo was custom printed on a round tile.

Untitled 5

Untitled 6

Tyler also added the classic gold coin to give that Super Mario vibe. You can also easily make one using a gold plate and a gold tile, mounted on a clear bar piece to give that floating effect. Here’s Tyler with more on his custom LEGO Mario. Watch this.

If you enjoyed watching this video, then you’ll be glad to know that you can also build one of your own. You can visit BuildBetterBricks to see how you can come up with your own custom LEGO Mario, and with a minimal fee, you can download the building instructions together with a parts list that allows you to easily export to BrickLink and order the LEGO pieces that you need. In fact, you can even get a 20% discount on all the building instructions across the store during this entire month of November when you enter the coupon code BRICKSET at checkout. These, and the rest of Tyler and Sean’s creations, were so cool that even Brickset took notice.

These are the Custom Adventure Time Collectible Minifigures That LEGO Must Make!

It is no secret that LEGO has been representing some of the best titles and licenses from every corner of the entertainment world. Ever since The LEGO Group struck gold with its partnership with Disney and Warner Bros., it has never run out of new material – and characters – to immortalize in that iconic LEGO plastic mould. From Star Wars to Marvel, to the Simpsons and Batman, there seems to be no limit to the potential of what LEGO can do with its minifigure renditions. In fact, there is still a lot of room for other official LEGO minifigs that already carry the LEGO brand. One particular subtheme (if one can call it that) is Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time. However, like what most Jake and Finn fans know, LEGO didn’t seem to do justice about the highly popular CN series. Sure, we have the LEGO Ideas Adventure Time (21308) that was released earlier this year; and also don’t forget about the uber cool (and now discontinued) LEGO Dimensions Adventure Time Level Pack (71245), Team Pack (71246), and Marceline the Vampire Queen Fun Pack (71285). But with only four official LEGO minifigures representing the cartoon series, there is still a lot that we’re missing.

Long before LEGO closed the deal with CN to render the world of Adventure Time into brick-built form, Chris Malec from Buckinghamshire, England already came up with the idea of rendering Jake, Finn, and the rest of the good ‘ol folks from the Land of Ooo, in custom LEGO minifigure form using a medium that has recently caught the fancy of many budding artist – 3D printing. He managed to design an initial 16 Adventure Time minifigures, close to creating a custom LEGO Adventure Time Collectible Minifigures. Take a look at these sweet, gorgeous renderings. Though they may not feel the same way as compared to a standard LEGO minifigure since they are 3D printed, the level of detail and accuracy, if I may say, exceeds that of LEGO prints. The clean look and finish on these custom CMF is beyond expectations.

Chris is still working on another series of Adventure Time custom LEGO minifigures and other titles, including another personal favorite, his rendition of a custom LEGO Super Mario Odyssey minifigure. I reckon that if LEGO will ever come with a Super Mario set, THIS is how Mario should like.

Speaking of Mario, be sure to check out Tyler’s latest super cool Custom LEGO Mario from Super Mario Odyssey. It is so great and spot-on that even Brickset took notice. I’ll talk more about that in my next post.

So if you are impressed as much as I am about these custom LEGO Adventure Time Collectible Minifigures from Chris Malec, be sure to check out the rest of his 3D masterpieces right here. Image credit goes to Chris for sharing his creation to the rest of the brick-loving world.

Here’s a Sneak Peak at the LEGO Batman Movie CMF Series 2.

So, it has finally come down to this. After months of speculation about Wave 3 of The LEGO Batman Movie sets, it seems that we now have our first, ‘unofficial’ confirmation of TLBM’s Series 2 of Collectible Minifigures. Though we’re still months away before they are supposed to be released in the market, one Reddit user – hiroki1998 – managed to have his hands on the series’ checklist/flyer. Just in case we are not making the brick police (aka LEGO’s legal team) jumping off from their seats again, we will take down this post anytime if the good guys in black suits will politely ask us. Check this out.

LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures Series 2 flyer

The way I see it, this next wave of TLBM collectible minifigs are way better in some aspects compared to the previous one. Where Series 1 capitalized on the many minifig variations of the Dark Knight himself, Series 2 pays homage to the rest of the heroes and villains that Batman has brushed shoulders with in the film. I reckon LEGO has a good pulse among the community when they sense that we are getting too saturated already with so many bat suits. In fact, we only have 2 Batman costumes out of 20 in this latest series. The rest were either iterations of the Bat Family as seen in the movie, or some selected members of the Justice League Party (also portrayed in the film), and some baddies that Joker himself introduced.

Here’s an “unofficial’ list of TLBM CMF Series 2 character names as they appear on the flyer.

  1. Disco Harley
  2. Disco Alfred
  3. Clock King
  4. Hugo Strange
  5. Mer-Bat
  6. Swimming Pool Batman with Dolphin
  7. Vacation Joker
  8. Vacation Robin
  9. Vacation Batgirl
  10. Vacation Alfred
  11. Soccer Mom Bat
  12. Killer Moth
  13. Jayna
  14. Zan
  15. Apache Chief
  16. Jor-El
  17. General Zod
  18. Doctor Phosphorus
  19. Black Canary
  20. Black Vulcan

There are so many minifigures here that I really want, its kind of hard to zero-in on one particular minifig! For starters, I’m sure I’m getting that Clock King, Swimming Pool Batman with Dolphin and Vacation Joker mifigures. What do you think brick fans? More LEGO Nexo Knights 2018 Reveal – the Twinfector (72002) and Axl’s Rolling Arsenal (72006).

More and more images of LEGO Knights 2018 sets are now making their way online. After the official reveal of the LEGO Nexo Knights Berserker Bomber (72003) from Toys R Us, we now have reports that other Nexo Knights sets have been spotted in the wild, apparently in an unnamed TRU branch. Thanks to Eurobricks forum member Robert8, we now have several box art images of two other Nexo Knights sets, leaving us with only 3 more sets out 6 waiting to be revealed. Please take note that this are not in any way can be considered as leaks, since they are now officially on display for purchase.

Here’s how they look.

Twinfector (72002)191 pieces

72002

Those who are familiar with the Blacktron II theme from the 90s will easily recognize the apparent similarity that the Twinfector has with the classic Space subtheme. In fact not only this set, but even that of the Berserker Bomber and that of the Vyro Glyder from Axl’s Rolling Arsenal. It’s all too familiar trans-neon green on black color scheme brings back nostalgic memories. It further gives credence to the idea that LEGO intends to fuse the classic Space and Castle themes in a combined format with the hopes of making it appealing both to AFOLs and a younger generation of LEGO fans.

If there is anything that excites me about this upcoming wave of Nexo Knights sets, it is perhaps the look and feel of Knighton’s baddies, the Cyberbyters with their mysterious weaponry. It also includes a rather interesting new piece which seems to be the bane of Knighton’s champions – the tech-infected Critters. I’m surely looking forward to see how the rest of the Cyberbyters’ gear will turn out.

Axl’s Rolling Arsenal (72006)604 pieces

720062

This set is the largest set that we have seen yet, coming in at 604 pieces. It is somewhat bulky, considering that it is literally a 4-in-1 vehicle set. According to the description provided in LEGO Life Magazine, the set includes Axl’s Tank, the detachable Jestroyer apparently piloted by Jestro, the Critter Trapper which is stored inside Axl’s tank, and the Vyro Glyder. Personally, I do not find Axl’s Rolling Arsenal really that appealing due to its yellow and gray colors, but the number of vehicles that goes with the set is a good deal in itself. Also, this is the first time that we see Jestro siding with the heroes of Knighton, which also somehow reflected in his more ‘knightly’, minifigure form.

If LEGO plans to release the Berserker Bomber (72003) on November 25 as announced in the December Store Calendar, then it is not a long shot to consider that we will be seeing the rest of these sets anytime next week.

  • Lance’s Hiver Jouster (72001)
  • Tech WiZard (72004)
  • X-bow (72005)

Are you excited about these latest LEGO Nexo Knights set? I’m definitely looking forward to see the rest of the sets, especially those Cyberbyter mech and ships. We’ll keep you posted as soon as we have more info within the next few days, so be sure to hit that Subscribe button down below, and stay tuned here on the Brick Show!

5 LEGO Sets Named as Finalists for 2018’s Toy of the Year Awards.

It has been customary for the Toy Industry Association Inc. to recognize certain toy manufacturers for their outstanding contribution to the toy industry, and LEGO is one of the industry leaders that have a legacy of being recognized time and again as a Toy of the Year (TOTY) awardee. Last year, we saw LEGO bagging not just one, but two awards with the beautiful and mechanically impressive LEGO Friends and Amusement Park Roller Coaster (41130) earning the title of Construction Toy of the Year Award, while the grand LEGO Disney Castle (71040) received the Specialty Toy of the Year.

As it seems, it looks like LEGO has earned a greater chance of bagging the same title again. Earlier this week, online voting for this year’s TOTY has officially begun, and LEGO once more dominated the nominees’ list with five sets under various categories. Nominated for Collectible of the Year, we have the LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures (71017). For Construction Toy of the Year it is everybody’s favorite droid in brick form, LEGO Star Wars BB-8 (75187) and Captain Salazar’s dreaded ghost ship, the LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean Silent Mary (71042) that has made it to the cut of being qualified as nominees. The still elusive, and hard-to-find, LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) also made it as a nominee for Specialty Toy of the Year, and the LEGO Boost Creative Toolbox (17101) was named as a candidate for Tech Toy of the Year.

It should be noted that a LEGO-compatible product also made it to the roster of TOTY finalists with the Mayka Toy Block Tape by Zulu. The concept behind a LEGO-tape is relatively new and has recently caught the fancy of builders both young and old.

The voting process officially began last November 3, and will end on January 5, 2018. The voting will include not just Association members, retailers, and journalists, but also the consumers. The winners will be announced in a formal presentation ceremony on February 16, 2018. You may refer to this link for the complete set of guidelines on how the Toy of the Year finalists were selected. Consumer voting is on-going, and if you wish to show your support for these LEGO sets, then head over to the voting page for the Toy of the Year Awards.

Check out these LEGO Juniors 2018 Official Images.

It looks like Toys R Us is in a roll with its upcoming LEGO set reveals. After pulling off the veil from the LEGO Nexo Knights Berserker Bomber (72003), the toy retail giant has updated its catalog to include images from the next LEGO Juniors sets. These first four from the 2018 Juniors sets borrows from the Friends and City themes, with 9 more sets coming from Ninjago: Sons of Garmadon, Superheroes, and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Though intended primarily for budding LEGO fans ages 4 to 7, these sets have also taken a following from AFOLs and builders because of their relatively unique pieces and minifigures. No word on their availability as of this writing, but we can assume that they will go on sale when Brick Friday arrives this month. Take a look at their official images below.
