LEGO Aquaman Rage of Atlantis Movie Now Available in Blu-ray and DVD

The King of Atlantis made a huge splash during last month’s San Diego Comic Con with the exclusive theatrical premiere of the LEGO Aquaman Rage of Atlantis film. To top it off, SDCC attendees who were fortunate enough to witness the screening went home with an exclusive minifigure version of Green Lantern Corp member Jessica Cruz. For those who were not able to attend the SDCC, this is our chance to bring home a Blu-ray or DVD copy of the film together with its exclusive minifigure freebie via Amazon.

LEGO Aquaman Rage of Atlantis

The LEGO Aquaman Rage of Atlantis features the king of the seven seas pitted against the forces of the Red Lanterns while dealing with the loss of his throne of Atlantis. Aquaman must now muster the courage, with the help of all his loyal sea creatures, to face the threat of the menacing Red Lanterns, rescue the Justice League, and save the planet along the way.

In LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Aquaman – Rage of Atlantis, the King of Atlantis must make some difficult decisions to ensure the future of his ocean realm. Under attack from Atrocitus and the Red Lanterns, Aquaman realizes he must relinquish his sovereignty and go on a journey to regain his confidence before returning to his rightful throne. Along the way, Aquaman reunites with the Justice League – including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and newest member Jessica Cruz/Green Lantern – to conquer Atlantis’ latest enemy and reemerge as the ruler of the Seven Seas.

LEGO Aquaman Rage of Atlantis is WB Home Entertainment’s latest offering and is now available through Amazon. Be sure to grab the opportunity to get a copy along with the FREE Jessica Cruz Green Lantern minifigure.

LEGO Star Wars Han Solo Mud-Trooper (40300) Minifigure Spotted In LEGOLAND Store Germany

Fans of Star Wars, especially those of a certain inclination, might say that the hype for Solo didn’t die to thunderous applause the way the Old Republic did to become Palpatine’s Empire. For more casual followers, it really doesn’t matter. For LEGO fans, they might argue that the tie-in sets at least were quite cool. Aside from the big box sets, there were also LEGO Star Wars polybags for Solo that got revealed earlier on. Some, like the Han Solo Mud-Trooper (40300), were originally presented as exclusive Toys ‘R’ Us freebies. We all know what happened; but that also left the status of these polybags in limbo for some time.

Han Solo Mud-Trooper (40300)

We can stop wondering now. Promobricks from Germany has just broken the news that since the last weekend of July, LEGO Stores in that country, particularly the one at their LEGOLAND Deutschland in Günzburg, have the Han Solo Mud-Trooper (40300) as a gift-with-purchase polybag.

lego starwars 40300 legoland2

Yes, word is that certain Solo-related LEGO Star Wars sets were going to be released in August 1. But some LEGO markets love jumping the gun, and Germany did by a few days. Plus, any LEGO Star Wars total purchase of at least €65 at LEGOLAND Deutschland’s store gets a free Han Solo Mud-Trooper (40300) minifigure polybag.

Well, it’s now the first day of August as of this writing, so we can expect other LEGO Stores to start offering the scheduled release sets for this day. And now we know that will also include the LEGO Star Wars Mud-Trooper Han Solo (40300).

LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle (71043) Officially Revealed – And It’s Massive!

It’s finally here!  LEGO Harry Potter fans rejoice, for LEGO has now updated their servers to include a huge stash of high res images of the much awaited LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle (71043). Rumors were up in the air since last month on what we can possibly expect from this set, most noticeable is the speculation that the set will weigh in at more than 6,000 pieces making it possibly the largest LEGO HP set to date. However, the speculations can finally end since the Hogwarts Castle (71043), as predicted, indeed comes in a mammoth size of 6,020 pieces.

Hogwarts Castle (71043)

What is also interesting in this LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle (71043) set is the fact that this is also the very first LEGO HP set to contain all of Hogwarts’ Founding Fathers (or parents for that matter in the case of Helga Hufflepuff and Rowena Ravenclaw) in their respective minifigure forms.

71043 alt4

I guess the downside of such a huge set is on how to keep the build in scale with regards to its characters. I think this is the reason why LEGO opted to have it scaled to nanofigs instead.  Based on the images below, it seems that each part of the castle portrays a memorable scene from Harry Potter films, much like how LEGO did it before with the Disney Castle (71040)

The Hogwarts Castle (71043) is not yet officially listed in shop.LEGO.com or any of its regional portals. But we can be rest assured that they will be updated very soon to include their official product description so that we can have a better grasp at the set’s play features. For the mean time, let’s enjoy these images.

In may not look exactly like the original LEGO Hedwig statue, but considering how much effort was needed to figure out its design, a shout out and a word of thanks to mc_survival_man should be in order.

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Knightmare Batman Accessory Set (853744) Coming In September

It seems that LEGO still has something in store for DC and Justice League fans. The LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Knightmare Batman Accessory Set (853744) has now been listed at shop.LEGO.com, and is scheduled to be available in September. It features another rendition of the Dark Knight based on the scene where Batman had an apocalyptic vision of a world ruled by fear from a raging Superman, as seen from the DCEU film Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. This particular Batman minifigure sports the sand brown trench coat he is seen wearing in that particular scene. Here’s a closer look at the said minifig.

The LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Knightmare Batman Accessory Set (853744) has 46 pieces, including two Parademons and some pieces to build a turret, and will retail for $12.99. Here’s the official product description for your reference. I reckon that this accessory set will be a hit for Batman minifig collectors once it is made available in September 1. To be honest, I lost count already on how many LEGO Batman minifig variants are out there to the extent that I feel the LEGO DC Super Heroes theme is quite over saturated of it already. But I guess having a LEGO Knightmare Batman minifig can be a forgivable exception.

LEGO Releases Official Building Instructions of LEGO SDCC 2018 Exclusives

As much as I would love to have been present at the recently concluded San Diego Comic-Con 2018, unfortunately, I simply can’t make it half-way around the world to join what could be the world’s largest gathering of super cool comic book fans. I guess it safe to assume that I’m not the only one having these sentiments considering that the annual SDCCs have drawn throngs of fans not only in the US, but also around the world. And for those who are geographically challenged to experience this one-of-a-kind fan convention, LEGO seems to have a soft spot for these challenges is very keen to them as well. Having an active presence throughout the annual SDCCs for the past few years, it has been customary for LEGO and other exhibitors, to release certain comic-con exclusives that you’ll never find anywhere else. These year’s SDCC exclusive sets come from LEGO’s largest licensed themes such as those coming from Marvel, DC Comics and Star Wars. Though these 2018 LEGO SDCC exclusive sets are made up of LEGO parts and pieces that you can easily find from your own LEGO bin, the look and feel of its packaging gives it an undeniable air of rare exclusivity. Like them or hate them, LEGO takes its fan base very seriously and has now made available the building instructions to create your very own LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon Cockpit (75512), LEGO DC Super Heroes Aquaman and Storm (75996), and my personal favorite, the LEGO Marvel Ant-Man and the Wasp (75997) sets.

Check out these official building instructions for the above mentioned LEGO SDCC 2018 exclusives, and see if you can build them using your own LEGO bricks and pieces. Click on the set names below to directly access and/or download these instructions in pdf file format.

New Facts About “The LEGO Movie 2” Revealed At SDCC 2018 Panel

One of the major reasons for any fan (with ways and means) to come to the 2018 San Diego Comic Con was the huge amount of panels for every upcoming comic book, video game, film, or any media imaginable. LEGO of course has its own share of these things. In particular, there’s star-studded the panel for The LEGO Movie 2.

Granted, the movie is still some seven months away from cinemas, but it’s never too early to drum up interest with strategic reveals such as with the film’s first trailer released last June. But in the LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part panel during SDCC’s last leg during the weekend, the dropped hints are heavy and hard-hitting.

The LEGO Movie 2
Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks and Stephanie Beatriz
‘Warner Bros Studio’ panel, Comic-Con International, San Diego, USA – 21 Jul 2018

Sitting on the SDCC panel were writers and producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller, animation director Trisha Gum, and voice talents Chris Pratt (Emmett), Elizabeth Banks (Wyldstyle) and Stephanie Beatriz (new character Sweet Mayhem). One can’t help but be impressed with Miller who did the panel with a broken wrist done up in a cast (that’s also been doodled on to look like Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet).

Among the details dropped by The LEGO Movie 2 panel involve how the storyline follows up from the 2014 original’s ending, where Finn, the boy whose playtime with his father’s basement LEGO set created the story itself, now has to share with his sister. Her introduction of LEGO Duplo to the mix triggers an “alien war” scenario in Bricksburg that turns it into an apocalyptic warzone, where The Second Part picks up years later (in-universe).

Lord talks about how the central conflict in LEGO Movie 2 is brought about by the clashing imaginations of Finn the “story-maker” and his sister. Gum then describes the plot and visual escalation of the sequel as blasting off “out of the basement into the Systar system”, while new footage from the film was screened.

Even Chris Pratt got into talking about how the events and elements of the movie have grown bigger from the first installment, comparing it to his own casting history. When he voiced Emmett in The LEGO Movie back in 2014, he was easily known by his role in NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation; by the time his voice work was done, he was cast by Marvel as Star-Lord, and the rest was superhero blockbuster history.

To illustrate that point, Pratt reveals that he is also voicing a minor minifigure character, one that’s a fun fusion of Star-Lord and his other new big role as Owen Grady the Raptor wrangler from Jurassic World and its sequel. And as a reminder, JW and Marvel both have LEGO sets with Pratt’s characters on them.

All these info tidbits point to the great potential The LEGO Movie 2 has in surpassing what surprise box office success its predecessor had years before. We’ll have to wait for February 2019 to see if all these hold true.

Thanks to We Live Entertainment for covering the panel.

SDCC 2018 Teasers Reveal DCEU Aquaman Actor Jason Momoa Will Also Voice LEGO Version in The LEGO Movie 2

San Diego Comic Con has come and gone, and boy that weekend that passed by was one of the wildest yet since the event came to prominence because of superhero movies. DC and Warner Bros. didn’t fail to disappoint fans with two movie previews, one being Aquaman starring Jason Momoa.

We already have info down on the upcoming LEGO DC Super Heroes Aquaman: Black Manta Strike (76095) set that directly ties in to the said movie (featuring a Momoa-as-Aquaman minifigure), but that apparently wasn’t the only place we’d find the Hawaiian actor where LEGO’s involved. We’ll be hearing him reprising his role in an eagerly-awaited film.

We know The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is coming out next year. Some little teasers shown by the Warner-DC panel in SDCC’s “hallowed” Hall H last Saturday (July 21) apparently tip off the fact that a LEGO Aquaman will be among the loads of characters present, and he’ll be voiced by Jason Momoa.

The DC superhero minifigures in the LEGO movie sequel already have some notable stars voicing them like Will Arnett as LEGO Batman, and Channing Tatum as the voice behind LEGO Superman. But Warner-DC seems to be trying to pull some performer synergy with the DC Extended Universe with the Momoa casting for LEGO Aquaman. Even Suicide Squad’s Margot Robbie is taking over from The LEGO Batman Movie’s Jenny Slate in voicing for LEGO Harley Quinn.

Jason Momoa
This brick-built LEGO statue of Jason Momoa’s Aquaman majestically stands at SDCC 2018.

Aquaman of the DCEU premieres on December 21, but already the iconic underwater hero who can talk to fish has been getting plenty of love at SDCC 2018. There was also a brick-built LEGO statue of him (portrayed by Jason Momoa, naturally) on display there, while the LEGO Super Heroes Aquaman: Black Manta Strike (76095) arrives August 1.

As a parting treat, here’s  Aquaman’s first official trailer.
