Now, in the wake of the Star Wars weekend celebration of May the 4th (and Revenge of the 5th), a new and jaw-dropping LEGO MOC has appeared courtesy of builder Grant Davis. In honor of the unofficial holiday he created a diorama of a famous scene from The Force Awakens.
Surely anyone who’s seen the Star Wars sequel trilogy thus far would remember the establishing scene of Force-sensitive scavenger Rey spelunking inside the hulk of a Star Destroyer wreck on the planet Jakku. Davis put his mad building skills to work recreating the gutted interior, using lots of bricks (naturally).
The result is a magnificent rendition of the scene with Rey roping down from the Star Destroyer wreck’s ceiling. And this was only enhanced further by Grant Davis’ insane photographyskills.
All in all, it’s a nice punctuation to May the 4th. Aside from the above video, you can check out more LEGO works from the hand of Grant Davis on his official YouTube channel.

May the 4th be with you now, as the Star Wars fandom commence their celebrations this Friday, which has fallen on the pun-iest day of this month of the year. The various Star Wars-connected promotions on LEGO for May 4 would’ve also gone into full swing by now as well.
Perhaps one of the most rewarding promo items one can get from LEGO on May the 4th is this R2-D2 minifigure made out of 18-karat white gold. There’s only one of these available, and only those with a LEGO Black VIP membership card have been automatically entered for the raffle.
This would’ve already been made known to Black VIP cardholders via email. Said message includes an assurance that the recipient need not do anything more to join the raffle for the 18-karat R2-D2 (they’re already entered). Said minifigure also comes with a certificate of authenticity for the white gold R2-D2.
Aside from this “grand prize” of sorts, there are other great giveaways that one can get from LEGO for May 4. Next in prominence is the LEGO Star Wars UCS Y-Wing (75181) technical blueprints (numbered 5005624), available with a minimum $35 LEGO purchase (or any amount for Black VIP cardholders).
Note also that LEGO VIP members get double the VIP points this Star Wars Day, and they can “Make & Take” Porg figures or buy the UCS Millennium Falcon (75212) at LEGO Stores. Here’s hoping you enjoy the festivities, for this is the day you’ve been waiting for; move along.
Just when we were ready to proclaim the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon model (75192) as the pinnacle of LEGO creating a model of the famous space freighter, we got introduced to the Kessel Run version (75212); while not a UCS set, you can’t say no to the “newness”.
Really, at times it feels like the Kessel Run Millennium Falcon (75212) comes across as the better model in part because there’s enough of a difference to it compared to the “worn-down” ship as seen in the original trilogy. One Star Wars character’s actually a fan of it: Chewbacca himself.
At least that’s how this little skit from The Star Wars Show plays out. Chewie returns “home” to the online show’s Lucasfilm HQ set with a box of the Kessel Run Falcon (75212). He assembles it, with difficulty. Hilarity ensues. It starts at around 1:33 at the video down below.
This latest episode of The Star Wars Show features an interview with director Ron Howard about Solo: A Star Wars Story, and shout-outs to both a new Solo featurette with cast interviews and news about the new and upcoming anime-style TV series Star Wars: Resistance.
The latest LEGO happening with the Kessel Run Millennium Falcon (75212) is that it’s still available at The LEGO Store and shop.LEGO.com, as according to the LEGO Star Wars-themed May promotional calendar. The “Kessel Run Adventure” is still up on the LEGO Life app, from April 23 to June 24.
While the LEGO Star Wars rendition of the then-new Falcon is totally impressive, we also invite fans to check out the actual ship in action, when Solo: A Star Wars Story arrives in cinemas later this month, on May 25.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Trouble in Wakanda is next LEGO animated special to watch out for.
It’s almost a week ever since Avengers: Infinity War arrived in cinemas last April, and plenty perhaps are still smarting over the developments. Spoilers ahead, but surely the loss of Wakanda’s King T’Challa, the Black Panther, weighs heavily on fans who watched his movie just this February. It’s so unfair.
Check Out the New LEGO Marvel Animated Short, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Trouble in Wakanda!
Well, until we get to see the resolution to Thanos’ victory next year on Avengers 4, we might settle for this little offering by LEGO to promote their Avengers: Infinity War tie-in sets and merchandise. It’s called LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Trouble in Wakanda, an animated special on Marvel HQ.
As the subtitle pretty much spells out, this series of animated shorts will star possibly the coolest Marvel hero on film today, Black Panther. The Mad Titan Thanos is again stirring some bad juju over Wakanda, and T’Challa means to get to the bottom of it.
Leading his hometown allies, and with outside help from the Avengers, the Black Panther aims to scratch up and beat down anybody who messes with his beloved kingdom. Whether they be Klaue the mercenary, Killmonger the usurper, or Thanos himself. We can rest assured the LEGO special is pure action-comedy.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Trouble in Wakanda, brought to us by Marvel and Pure Imagination Studios, will run five episodes long on Marvel’s official YouTube channel, Marvel HQ, starting May 11. Eventually, the five LEGO Marvel episodes will be compiled into a special premiering on June 3 on Disney XD. Wakanda Forever!
UPDATE: It looks like we already have our first LEGO Marvel Superheroes Ant-Man and The Wasp set reveal. Check Brian’s video about the Quantum Realm Explorers (76109) at the end of this article.
A tiny piece of news in minuscule proportions has just been dropped by LEGO over its social media channels. LEGO has just teased on some LEGO Marvel Superheroes Ant-Man and The Wasp sets to be released starting this June 1st. The announcement came in via LEGO’s official Facebook and Twitter pages.
There is nothing new in particular with regards to the teaser, except for what could be our first look at The Wasp minifigure. The only criticism that I have about the Ant-Man minifig featured in the teaser is that it is a bit far off from how it looks like from the official trailer. Anyways, rumor has it that the soon-to-be announced set will be coming in at 200 pieces and will also include nanofigures of our heroes. One set will also feature the film’s villain which is the Ghost and a vehicle that looks like a minisub and fly hybrid.
In any case, we’re just less than a month away from the sets official release so we can expect for more info and set images to be out soon.
The month of May also marks the release of another LEGO BrickHeadz sets that most fans of the theme has been waiting for. First revealed in this month’s LEGO Store May Calendar, this unlikely super-powered pair finally completes the roster of DCEU’s Justice League characters given the BrickHeadz treatment.
