The LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City (70620) Official Images Revealed + More Cool Details.

The official images of the LEGO Ninjago Movie sets were already revealed a few days ago, and earlier today, LEGO’s Facebook page has finally lifted the veil off of its rumored direct-to-consumer set, and it’s gigantically awesome! The LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City (70620) has been kept under wraps for quite some time, and now we finally know why. It is one exciting set that is full of visual imagery and colors that dwarfs any other set in comparison. In fact, as noted by Brickset, the Ninjago City is the largest LEGO set released under the Ninjago theme (by far larger than the Temple of Airjitzu 70751 and even Destiny’s Bounty 70618), and in fact, the third largest LEGO set of all time, coming in behind the Taj Mahal (10189) and Star Wars Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon (10179).

70620 26

Coming in at almost 5,000 pieces, the Ninjago City (70620) will retail for $299.99 and will be available starting September 1, just in time before the LEGO Ninjago Movie hits theaters on September 22. This next LEGO D2C set is also expected to be available for early VIP access sometime in August so better watch out for it. In similar news, Yahoo just recently ran an article describing the creative process behind this ‘insanely’ detailed set through the designers’ various concept arts and preliminary sketches. It’s indeed a work of art, brick art if you may, which is entirely in a league of its own. The building techniques used by the designers, and the Easter eggs that they threw in as well are all for the win. Who wouldn’t adore that minifig with the Galidor shirt?

Here’s the complete set description of the LEGO Ninjago Movie Ninjago City (70620), followed by the rest of its official images.

LEGO Europe Store Calendar Reveals The Iconic Cave (5004936) Set.

Promo Bricks has recently spotted the LEGO Europe Summer Store Calendar, and with it comes a promotional find that most minifig collectors will find interesting. For a minimum purchase of £25 or 30€ from August 10 to August 30 both in-store and online, you can get to bring home the Iconic Cave (5004936) set for free. The promotional set contains two cave people minifigures very similar to LEGO’s Caveman and Cave Woman CMF from Series 1 and 5 respectively.

The Iconic Cave set follows the tradition of other similar re-bundled CMF promotionals like the Gingerbread Man and Chicken Suit Guy. We’re not sure yet if the Iconic Cave will find its way in the US and other countries, considering that we already know what’s in store for the month of July such as a pretty cool  LEGO BrickHeadz Wonder Woman Build Event, free Mini Piggy Bank (40251) promotional, and the rumored LEGO Creator Expert Double Decker Bus (10258).

Garmadon’s Takes on the Spotlight in These Latest Poster and Set Images from the LEGO Ninjago Movie.

While most fathers all over the world took time off from their usual daddy duties during the past weekend, Warner Bros Animation took it to the Internet to show that Father’s Day is indeed for all dads, even if they are the four-armed, villainous type.

In a Twitter post by LEGO Senior Creative Director Simon Lucas, he shows how the lighter side of Lord Garmadon may look like when he is not out there, busy conquering the rest of the world, as we see him in the LEGO Ninjago Movie.

Accompanied by a greet that comically reads, “Happy Garmadon’s Day”, we then see the film’s main antagonist hanging out in a serene study room, wearing a brown business suit and a tie, and holding a mug with the words “I’m Ninjago’s #1 Dad” written on it. Of course, the reference is clear: Garmadon may be a despicable tyrant, but he is still Lloyd’s dad, and that must be something.

As Brickset pointed out, it will definitely be nice to see this version of Garmadon in its actual minifigure form, perhaps in the upcoming collectible minifigure series tied up with the film. This is a great way to add Garmadon to your collection if you wish to see him away from the action-packed sets of the LEGO Ninjago Movie. As of to date, we only have two distinct versions of the infamous warlord as found in the LEGO Ninjago Movie Master Falls (70608) and Green Ninja Mech Dragon (70612). A slightly modified version of him may also be found in the recently revealed Garma Mecha Man (70613) – previously known to be Garmadon’s Robo Shark – by Belgian online toy store Mister Bricks.

706131 e1498005542767 lego 70613 3 70613 1

It is exciting to consider the possibility of seeing Garmadon in this not-so-usual minifigure get up if indeed he will be included in the LEGO Ninjago Movie CMF. It’s not a long shot, considering LEGO’s history of introducing wild and wacky minifig characters in its CMF series. After all, who would have thought LEGO will throw in a Fairy Batman collectible minifig as a part of its TLBM CMF? With LEGO, anything goes.

Dad Garmadon

What do you think about this version of Garmadon? Do you wish to see this minifig version of him land a spot in the LEGO Ninjago Movie collectible minifigure series? I would surely love to see that. Let us know in the comments below.

LEGO Dimensions Beetlejuice Gameplay Shown At The Final Leg of E3 2017

Though the final day of the LEGO video games presentation at this year’s E3 confirmed our suspicions that nothing really new is slated for LEGO Dimensions, it was quite exciting to see how the latest Wave 9 characters will play out on screen. During Day 3 of WB Games’ live coverage, we now get to see how the iconic Beetlejuice is transported in LEGO Dimensions. Arthur Parsons (TT Games’ Head of Design) and James McLoughlin (Game Director at LEGO Dimensions) shared some exciting details on what can be expected from the Beetlejuice Adventure world.

03 Day3E3 02 Day3E3 01 Day3E3 00 Day3E3

We also get to see the different places and location in Beetlejuice’s realm, including the Deetz Residence, the model town in the Deetz’ attic, and the classic Waiting Room. Playing as Beetlejuice, you can get to explore the model town in the attic as seen in the 1988 film. Parsons also shared a bit of a trivia, revealing that the Beetlejuice Adventure World was copied from an actual physical model which was later on scanned into the game. The show concluded with a Beetlejuice cosplay contest where the winner gets home to bring a LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack and a Beetlejuice Fun Pack (71349), two months earlier of Wave 9’s release date in September 12. Watch the gameplay video below.

18-Inch LEGO Marvel Medusa Brick Statue Revealed At E3.

Day 3 of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles finally revealed the mystery prize of the LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 sweepstakes, which we reported a few days ago. The mystery prize is an 18-inch LEGO Marvel brick-built statue which was hinted to be that of a ‘formerly frightful’ Marvel character. Today, Arthur Parsons (TT Games’ Head of Design) and Ryan Penagos (VP and Executive Editor of Marvel Digital) were so excited to reveal not just the winner of the sweepstakes, but also the who was this LEGO Marvel mystery figure. Valued at $2,875, the prize was none other than the brick-built figure of Medusa, straight from Marvel comics.

05 Day3E3 04 Day3E3

As one of the members of the villainous Frightful Four in the Marvel comic books, Medusa now comes in her digital minifigure form in LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2. During the demo gameplay, Parsons highlighted some of the cool things about Medusa’s abilities and the length that the game animators went through to give life to her iconic character. Her signature, giant hair and sleek moves were all brought to life in LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2, and the level of animation involved is fantastic. Check out this gameplay video below.

LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 is now available for pre-order and slated for release on November 14, 2017. It also comes with a Deluxe Edition that includes the Classic Guardians of the Galaxy Character Pack which features playable classic GOTG characters including Charlie-27, Yondu, Major Vance, and Starhawk among others.

We Heard that The LEGO Creator Double Decker Bus is Coming, and We Certainly Hope It’s True!

If you recall, the July LEGO Store Calendar already teased next month’s exclusive VIP set. We don’t have the faintest idea then on what it could be, considering that we already have the most recent LEGO Creator Expert Carousel (10257). But thanks to Hoth Bricks, we now have info on what this mystery set will be.

04 July Store Calendar Front

Already listed on Brickset, the LEGO Creator Expert Double Decker Bus (10258) is slated to be the next Advanced Model set that takes cue from its smaller cousin, the LEGO Creator London Bus (40220). It is expected that the July D2C exclusive will be a faithful representation of the iconic London Bus that may probably designed to be at a minifig scale.

london bus lego creator 10258 1

Interestingly, the LEGO Creator Carousel (10257) designer video may have already hinted on the Double Decker Bus when it featured one the LEGO designers having a doppelganger of some sorts.

LCDV

It also seems that LEGO intends to have this mini-versions and large set counterparts as main staple of its Creator line. In 2011, we saw the Volkswagen T1 Camper Van (10220) getting the LEGO treatment and two years later, having a mini-me version in the form of the Mini VW T1 Camper Van (40079) polybag. Then just last year, we have the Volkswagen Beetle (10252) and its smaller cousin the Mini Volkswagen Beetle (40252) LEGO Store promotional.

If this indeed our July LEGO Creator Expert Store exclusive, then we can expect an official word from LEGO anytime soon. The LEGO Creator Expert Double Decker Bus (10258) will be available for early VIP access from July 17-31, retailing at 129.99 Euros. What do you think about this set brick fans? Will you fancy building yourself a Double Decker Bus? Let us know in the comments below, or head over at our Facebook page to share your thoughts.

LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 Comes With A New, Multiplayer Battle Mode and a Diverse World Hub.

In continuing with the exciting reveals at Day 2 of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, the top guys over at TT Games and Marvel Gaming led by Arthur Parsons (TT Games Head of Design), Philip Ring (TT Games Executive Producer), and Bill Rosemann (Executive Creator and Director at Marvel Games) led the discussions that saw the reveal of other awesome features tucked inside the sequel, LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2.

banner LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2

Lauded for being the biggest and most ambitious open worlds project that TT Games ever embarked on, LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 features Chronopolis – the game’s hub world that allow players to access 18 different locations all based on the Marvel comic book storyline. According to Rosemann, there is a reason why they chose Kang the Conqueror to be the main villain and antagonist in the game, being able to warp time and space, and mesh them around his city of Chronopolis. Kang may not be that well known in other Marvel games or in the more recent Marvel Cinematic Universe, but in the comics, he is as formidable as any of the major villains in Marvel history. Players can access the different locations in the Chronopolis hub via in-game menus that works like a comic book page.

06 LMSH21

Other than the unique, open world places within Chronopolis, Parsons also revealed other superhero characters that will be available within the game. For the first time, Agent Venom and Spider Gwen now have their LEGO digital minifigure counterparts in LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2. Straight from the comics, these two characters are just two among the many characters that will be available in the game.

Lastly, players will have a blast battling each other in a free for all arena where up to 4 combatants can play head on under the Game Master’s watchful eye. The Battle Arena also features the Infinity Gauntlet where players can access any of the Infinity Stones that grants them temporary ability upgrades. Using these Infinity Stones is like using power ups that can significantly affect the outcome of any battle.

Here’s a gameplay demo that was shown live during this day’s WB Games presentation.

We have another day to go for more exciting E3 reveals. So what do you think will be revealed next? Be sure to stay tuned here at the Brick Show for more E3 2017 updates!

LEGO Worlds Will Get A New Free Survivor DLC Update.

Hot off the heels of yesterday’s announcement of a paid, Classic Space DLC Pack for the sandbox game, LEGO Worlds, Day 2of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) saw the announcement of an another reveal by WB Games. Chris Rose, Associate Producer at TT Games, and TT Games Community Manager, Bear Parker, sat down with host Katie Wilson to talk more about the upcoming, free DLC which will come out later in Fall.

01 LWS

Called LEGO Worlds Survivor, the free DLC allows you to play as a minifig character stranded on a beach island where, in order to survive, you must be able to gather and creatively manage your limited resources to be able to escape. Perhaps build a boat, a plane, or anything that you can think of with the bricks and pieces that you can find around you. Unlike the usual LEGO Worlds gameplay where all the sets and pieces are provided to the player, in LEGO Worlds Survivor, your brick-building creativity will be stretched a little more in trying to figure out how to effectively use the resources provided to you. But fear not, a talking Pirate Parrot will be guiding you throughout your stay in the island – pretty comforting right? Watch the trailer below.

In LEGO Worlds Survivor, you will be provided with a journal that will serve as your nifty survival guide, telling you what materials or pieces that you need to accomplish a certain task. In the process, you have to fend off the not-so-friendly locals of the island and other harsh elements that will constantly challenge you.

There is no exact release date yet, but we will soon find out probably around August or early September. LEGO Worlds is currently available across all major gaming platforms, including the Playstation 4, Xbox One, Switch and Steam (PC).
