As of this posting, it seems that that the gift with purchase LEGO Ideas Space Rocket Ride (40335) is still available. However, bear in mind that this promo might as well be over soon but if you see this appear in your shopping cart, then there is a good chance that you might still get one of this.

The UK LEGO Shop@Home portal lists both these new LEGO polybag promotional items as available from July 1 to 14 or until supplies last. Bundle this with LEGO’s ongoing Double VIP points promo then this is one great offer that’s hard to resist.

The LEGO Creator Expert NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander (10266) is also a great addition to that LEGO City Space MOC that you might be working on. Another good thing is that both the LEGO City Lunar Space Station (60227) and Deep Space Rocket and Launch Control (60228) comes with double VIP points until the end of this month. So be sure to grab these sets as well.

July 2019 LEGO Store Calendar Highlights and Promotions

LEGO is pushing through with its plans of going entirely digital now that the July 2019 LEGO Store Calendar has been released online. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what’s in store for LEGO fans next month.

LEGO Store Calendar

LEGO Store Calendar

July 1-31: Weekly Building Challenges

Starting every Monday of July, your local LEGO store will feature space-themed building challenges where participants may have their brick creations put on display. I’m not quite sure if registration is required but I guess the calendar implies that walk-ins are also accepted.

July 12-14: It’s Christmas in July!
40292 1
The exclusive, gift-with-purchase set Christmas Gift Box (40292) from last year, 2018.

This is quite interesting since this promo is available only on weekends, and the calendar did not exactly specify what could be the exclusive offer. However, since this portion of this advert mentions that the offer is valid until supplies last, I am assuming that the set to be given away is the limited edition 2018 holiday gift-with-purchase set, Christmas Gift Box (40292).  This is a gorgeous set filled with hidden surprises, so if you missed out on this one, be sure to drop by your local LEGO Store during this 3-day promo event.

July 10-17: Monthly Mini Build – Fun Frog (40326)
40326 1
Fun Frog Mini Build (40326)

To reserve a spot, visit your local LEGO® Store starting July 5. This requires getting a bit of being used to since LEGO has dropped the online registration mechanics in favor of an in-store one. What also seems to be puzzling is that the Mini Builds page of LEGO Shop@Home specifically states that the MMB program has been discontinued since April of this year, with only the building instructions published on their page. Personally, I like the idea of having Monthly Mini Builds since a lot of kids (and adults as well) get to bring home free LEGO. We just have to wait and see where these changes will lead us.

July 18-21: Free LEGO City Space Satellite (30365) Polybag

30365 alt1

For the entire third week of July, LEGO Stores will be running a promotional that fans will find enticing. The LEGO City Space Satellite (30365) polybag can be yours for free for a minimum single receipt purchase of LEGO products worth $40 USD and above, or while supplies last.

As you can see from this LEGO Store Calendar, the month of July also marks the release of some of the highly anticipated LEGO sets such as the LEGO Jurassic Park: T. rex Rampage (75936) and the latest wave of LEGO Harry Potter 2019 sets.  Be sure to drop by at the LEGO brand store nearest you for more details about these promos.

Here’s Your Chance to Bring Home a LEGO Harry Potter Golden Snitch at Barnes & Noble

Barnes & Noble stores will be running a Make and Take building event on July 13 as promoted over at their website. LEGO fans who missed out on Indigo/Chapters Bookstore’s LEGO promotional building event in Canada last October will be glad to know that B&N will be running their own promo with a slightly upgraded  LEGO Harry Potter Golden Snitch freebie.

LEGO Harry Potter Golden Snitch

Expect more info will come in as we approach the end of this month, especially if this event requires pre-registration. While waiting, you may want to check out Rebrickable’s version of this LEGO Harry Potter Golden Snitch and see if you have the parts needed to build it. There are no building instructions included but I guess its relatively easy considering that it only comes in at 35 pieces. Take note that this version was the one given away in Indigo Bookstores in Canada.

In case you haven’t received this next LEGO Gift-With-Purchase set and you happen to be in the UK, you might be glad to know that the exclusive LEGO Marvel Avengers Tower (40334) promotional set is still available in the region both in-store and online. After being first spotted back in March via a Spanish LEGO Store flyer, its good to know that this LEGO GWP set is still up, though only limited currently to the UK and other parts of Europe until the end of this month or until supplies last.

LEGO Stranger Things Castle Byers Rumored to be the Next LEGO Promotional Set

To celebrate the launch of the LEGO Stranger Things The Upside Down (75810) a few weeks ago, LEGO also threw in a sweet Make and Take Event at it’s Flatiron (NY) and Leicester (London) LEGO Stores. Needless to say, the LEGO Stranger Things Castle Byers was a hit to LEGO and Netflix fans where in-store patrons get to build this iconic fort in the woods and bring them home at the same. Eventually, building instructions were released online showing how to recreate this 48-piece set less the two exclusive stickers of course.  Of course, if we will have our way, it will be nice to have this Make and Take promotional be available across all LEGO brand stores in the country. And thanks to a report by The Brick Fan, it might be the case

Castle Byers take away build from LEGO Stranger Things event. More photos and instructions at Imgur link. from lego

It was rumored that after the initial debut of both the Upside Down (75810) and the LEGO Stranger Things Castle Byers, the latter will eventually be introduced as the next Make and Take promotional across LEGO Stores in the US. LEGO Stores are somehow mum about this, but according to The Brick Fan, registration for this event may actually start tomorrow, June 10. That’s good news especially if you’re a devoted LEGO collector. I know this set is relatively easy to make with all its parts readily available in your modest LEGO collection. However, if you’re a LEGO completionist and wishes to have the exclusive Castle Byers stickers that go with it, then be sure to check out with your local LEGO store to confirm this Make and Take promotional.

The LEGO Stranger Things The Upside Down (75810) is currently available at LEGO Shop@Home retailing for $199.99 USD. Coming in at 2,287 pieces with eight (8) instantly recognizable Stranger Things minifigures: Eleven, Mike Wheeler, Lucas Sinclair, Dustin Henderson, Will Byers, Joyce Byers, Chief Jim Hopper, and the Demogorgon.

Free LEGO Avengers: Endgame Art Print for VIP Members

LEGO VIP members are in for a treat starting next Monday, June 10. For every single receipt purchase of LEGO sets worth $35 USD and above, LEGO VIP members are entitled to a free LEGO Avengers: Endgame art print exclusively illustrated by artists Andrea Divito and Laura Villari. If you recall, LEGO VIP members also received a similar art print a few months ago in connection with the release of MCU’s Captain Marvel film and its LEGO tie-in set. Now that the spotlight is currently on Avengers: Endgame, this second VIP promotional offering marks the second among three exclusive art prints lined up by LEGO.

LEGO Avengers: Endgame Art Print

Though I can’t say that this LEGO Avengers: Endgame art print is 100% movie accurate, it is still a nice poster to be displayed in your LEGO playroom. Furthermore, LEGO VIP members can collect all three posters (the obvious guess is that the third LEGO-inspired art print will be dedicated to the last MCU Phase 3 film, Spider-Man: Far From Home) to combine into a single, collectible poster. Just be quick on that purchase trigger though if you’re on shop.LEGO.com since this LEGO VIP promo will only run from June 10 until 16. Read on for the full promo mechanics.

LEGO Ideas Space Rocket Ride (40335) Official Images Released

After making a brief appearance in April at a LEGO Certified Store in Croatia, we now have our first official images of the LEGO Ideas Space Rocket Ride (40335). If you recall, this particular set is inspired by the winning entry created by LEGO fan builder mjsmiley for the LEGO Ideas LEGO Moments In Space Contest. The contest intends to inspire LEGO fan builders to come up with their own version of LEGO’s next promotional set. Take a look at the following images.

LEGO Ideas Space Rocket Ride (40335) 40335 2

The LEGO Ideas Space Rocket Ride (40335) is intended to be the next gift with purchase (GWP) set, though the promo mechanics on when and how to avail this set has not yet been disclosed by LEGO, though we can assume that this promotional item might be released next month. Perhaps as a GWP set when you purchase the LEGO Creator Expert Apollo 11 Lunar Lander (10266)? We just have to wait and see.

This set comes in at 154 pieces and in spite of its small size, features a couple of play features such as a rotating crank that allows the Space Rocket to move, a coin slot, and child minifigure with a classic LEGO Space logo printed on its torso.

40335 3 40335 4

My radar hasn’t picked up yet where this promotional item will be offered, but you can be sure that I’ll be giving you updates once more info comes in. As someone who collects exclusive GWP sets, this one is certainly on my must-have checklist in spite of the slight controversy that surrounded it a year ago. Special thanks to Promobricks for sharing these images.

********** UPDATE **********

LEGO has confirmed that as a Gift with Purchase set, LEGO Ideas Space Rocket Ride (40335) will be available starting June 5. No price points have been set yet for qualifying purchases as of this publication.

LEGO Store Calendars Will Only Be In Digital Versions Starting This July

If you’ve noticed, I haven’t covered much LEGO Store-related news lately, particularly with regards to their monthly LEGO Store Calendars – the last one that I covered being the December 2018 Calendar. My primary source of information back then was at cache.LEGO.com which is somehow available to the public a few months ago. Now that LEGO has virtually removed advanced access to their monthly store calendars (save for the current month that is now available for download), the only means that we can know what is happening in LEGO Stores in advance is if you pay a visit at your local LEGO store and requesting for a physical copy. Now that may even change as well.

LEGO VIP members were recently greeted with an email from LEGO Customer Service saying that beginning July, LEGO Store Calendars will now go paperless. That being the case, those who are fond of collecting their physical copies of these monthly calendars may hold on tight to their collection. I know that LEGO means well with this move, considering their advocacy on environmental sustainability. I just wish that they will bring back early access to monthly LEGO Store Calendars as they used to so fans can have a glimpse of the events and happenings that are really important for them.

I’m also a bit apprehensive on the effects of this move on the promotions of LEGO’s in-store activities because there are still some LEGO fans that primarily get their info on the physical LEGO Store Calendars that are handed out to them by store staff and employees. Unless local LEGO Stores actively campaign and promote the paperless format of their in-store calendars, then LEGO fans and visitors may possibly miss out on the really important stuff.

One way to possibly go around this is to set up an information kiosk in every store. Instead of being handed out a physical copy, store visitors can browse a digital version of the store calendar right there and then. It will be nice to see an interactive digital board where all the in-store happenings are scheduled. Perhaps with a possible integration to your calendar app of choice so you can seamlessly add these events in your own personal calendar. Well, these are just my two cents about this but I have to say that it will be rather cool to see a digital calendar such as that.

So what do you think about this decision of going paperless as far as LEGO Store Calendars are concerned? Do you prefer to have it this way, or do you still go for the feel of having an actual, hard copy? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
