This Is Your Chance to See the Untitled Goose Game Become a LEGO Set

Indie game developer House House may find itself in partnership with LEGO, and it all depends on the collective effort of LEGO fans. In just a span of 4 months, the groundbreaking slapstick/stealth/sandbox video game with a no less attractive title, Untitled Goose Game, is now closer to the possibility of having an official LEGO set.

A LEGO fan that goes by the name A Fellow Player over at the LEGO Ideas platform has submitted a product idea that skyrocketed in votes as much as its game counterpart. If the name sounds familiar to you then you might remember that he/she is the person behind that delicious-looking Tricaketops that I featured last August. The LEGO Ideas Untitled Goose Game is A Fellow Player’s attempt to bring into LEGO brick form that horrible goose that most of us fell in love with.

In fact, the LEGO Ideas Untitled Goose Game also won the heart of the LEGO Ideas Team so much so that it even became a staff pick. In just 4 days, it already reached more than 50% of the votes required to hit the 10K milestone. Here’s what A Fellow Player has to say about his/her entry.

The worldwide phenomenon of 2019 comes to LEGO! Enjoy life as a destructive goose in a small garden. Watch out for the gardener and his many tools! Props Included: Jam, Apple, Sprinkler, Goose Sign, Rose Bush, Carrot, Loose Foliage, Spoon, Shovel, Sun Hat, Hammer, Ice Chest, and a Key. Preferably, there would be more than one minifigure, but no others fit this scene. Some difficulties came with the printing and the post will be updated when they are fixed.

New LEGO Ideas Contest: Build United!

LEGO Ideas has launched another contest with plenty of cool prizes up for grabs. To celebrate the release of the LEGO Creator Expert Old Trafford-Manchester United (10272), this next LEGO Ideas contest encourages all LEGO builders to come up with their most creative way of showing support to the famous Red Devils in LEGO brick form. Explore the New 2020 LEGO City Sets

February 1 to 29, 2020

Visit any LEGO Store near you through the entire month of February to have a hands-on, try-before-you-buy experience with the latest 2020 LEGO City Police sets. Adult Valentine’s Bear Build and Take Event

February 11, 2020

You may want to hurry and register for this one. Specifically for AFOLs only, this Valentine’s Bear Build and Take event is happening on February 11 at the local LEGO Store near you. Build an adorable mini Teddy Bear with a customizable heart for someone special just before Valentine’s Day. This event is intended for participants 18 years old and above, and pre-registration is required starting February 4.

Build, Unbuild and Rebuild

February 20, 2020

Visit your local LEGO Store between 4–7PM of February 20 to learn how to Build, Unbuild and Rebuild with any LEGO set. With a Brick Specialist leading the way, the possibilities on what children can create are just limitless. All participants will receive a small gift for participating. Pre-registration is required and will start on February 4 in stores
only. This event is intended for ages kids 6–14.

The LEGO Ideas International Space Station (21321) will be joined by the LEGO Creator Expert Old Trafford – Manchester United (10272) on their launch day on February 1 (for non-LEGO VIPs). Here’s Your Chance to Vote for the Next LEGO Star Wars UCS Set

Its a bit unusual, but the LEGO Ideas platform has announced a new contest that will let LEGO fans choose (or vote to be exact) for the next LEGO Star Wars UCS set. As of to date, LEGO has 26 unique LEGO Star Wars UCS sets – not including re-releases – under its belt, and launching this LEGO Ideas Fan Vote is their way of paying it forward to the LEGO Star Wars faithful. Especially that the subtheme is marking its 20th anniversary at this turn of the decade.

The LEGO Ideas Fan Vote – Help choose one of the next Ultimate Collector Series Star Wars LEGO Sets narrows the voting choices down into three UCS candidates based on the most iconic starships that roamed the Star Wars galaxy.

The Nebulon B Escort Frigate

lego ideas resize 1600 900 — The 2005 LEGO Ideas Nebulon-B Escort Frigate product idea by LDiEgo represents an earlier attempt to give this starship the official LEGO treatment.

First appearing in The Empire Strikes Back and later in Return of the Jedi, there have been a few large-scale LEGO MOCs that took the challenge of recreating this Rebel-reformed Imperial starship. LEGO is yet to release its official version of the Nebulon B Escort Frigate, so voting for a brick-built replica of this massive ship brings us closer to the possibility of seeing one.

TIE Bomber

4479 1 — The LEGO Star Wars TIE Bomber (4479) was the very first LEGO model of this Imperial heavyweight released in 2003.

I think the TIE Bomber is one of the most underrepresented starships in the LEGO Star Wars franchise. After its first appearance as an official LEGO set back in 2003 in the form of the TIE Bomber (4479), it never had a rehashed version of any kind in almost 17 years. Seeing a larger, LEGO version of this TIE big brother is certainly a welcomed gesture.

Republic Gunship

75021 1 — The LEGO Star Wars Republic Gunship (75021) is the largest LEGO set of its kind as of to date.

This relic from the Star Wars prequel has already enjoyed two brick renditions from LEGO since the Republic Gunship (7163) was first released 18 years ago, followed by set 75021 in 2013. Though I wish that this third slot was given to another candidate, I guess there is still a large following for this artifact from the Attack of the Clones.

Back in September last year, LEGO in partnership with Amazon has launched the LEGO Mindstorms Voice Challenge Powered by Alexa calling all talented LEGO Mindstorms builders and programmers to come up with their coolest and brick-built robots operated and controlled by Amazon’s Alexa. After almost 4 months of review, the results are in with six Finalists and one Grand Winner bringing home the title of being the Ultimate LEGO Mindstorms Champion. Step into your astronaut boots with the new LEGO® IDEAS International Space Station

The LEGO Group has announced the new LEGO Ideas International Space Station, packed with authentic details as part of its 10-year celebration of the LEGO Ideas programme.

[21st January 2020] Realise your own dreams of becoming an astronaut with the new LEGO Ideas International Space Station, available to buy from LEGO stores and online at LEGO.com from February 1st.

Based on a concept from a LEGO fan, the new model contains 864 pieces, including the iconic space station itself and a LEGO brick-built NASA space shuttle with three mini cargo spacecrafts and two astronaut microfigures, making this a must-have for space enthusiasts and adult LEGO fans alike.

The realistic set features a posable Canadarm2 and two rotating joints that coincide with eight adjustable solar panels, to replicate the out-of-this-world complexity of the real space station that orbits the Earth sixteen times a day!

In addition, a display stand means that builders can proudly display it in any room once complete and celebrate the achievements of the five international space agencies that brought the incredible real-life ISS to life and have enabled humans to live in space for 20 years.

LEGO fan Christoph Ruge submitted the original design for the LEGO Ideas International Space Station set after submitting other various space model entries via the LEGO Ideas platform.

LEGO Ideas offers fans the opportunity to submit their own brick creations with the chance to have their concept brought to life with the help of LEGO master designers and a share of the profits.

After three years, Christoph’s design was selected through the special review to celebrate the 10th anniversary year of the LEGO Ideas programme that has seen amazing sets come to fans including The Flintstones, Steamboat Willie and Friends Central Perk in the last year alone.

Hasan Jensen, Engagement Manager at The LEGO Group, said: “To celebrate 10 years of crowdsourcing and collaboration between LEGO Ideas (called LEGO CUUSOO until 2014) and LEGO fans around the world, we decided to dive into the archives of LEGO Ideas projects that had gathered 10,000 supporters but hadn’t quite made it into production.

“We decided that one of these great ideas should have a second chance, so we thought we would turn the LEGO Ideas process upside down. This time we started the internal review and came up with four exciting projects that we thought showed the greatest potential – and then it was up to the LEGO Ideas community to decide which of the four would be made into LEGO Ideas
set number 29. It was great fun to follow the fan vote and we were excited to be able to finally welcome the International Space Station into the LEGO Ideas family.”

Upcoming LEGO Train (40370) Set Celebrates the Theme’s 40th Anniversary

It is clear by now that LEGO loves to celebrate many of its milestones with sets that reflect a particular theme’s humble beginning. From LEGO 60 Years of the LEGO Brick (40290) to the LEGO Creator Expert Assembly Square (10255), these sets serve as a great reminder of how these themes have begun and endured even until today. And from the looks of it, another set will be offered by LEGO as a way of celebrating one of its early sets that were loved by many AFOLs even until today. The LEGO Train (40370) could be the next promotional set that you may want to watch out especially if you’re a fan of these types of commemorative builds.

According to Promobricks, the promotional LEGO Train (40370) set will be an anniversary set that marks the 40th anniversary of the LEGO Train theme. Frankly, I’m not sure why LEGO pegged 1980 as the birth of the theme since there has been a good number of train sets that were released already as early 1966. Anyhow, the LEGO Train (40370) set is a replica of the Push-Along Steam Engine (7810) from 1980 and comes with the very same train attendant minifigure. It also comes with a display base and a special 40th-anniversary tile. I’m not sure if this will be a sticker or a printed tile since its hard to see from this low resolution that is being shared over on Instagram. It will certainly be nice if LEGO will opt for a printed tile for this set like what it did with its past exclusive promotionals.

There are no further details except for this image, but you can expect that I will update this post once more information comes in about this commemorative set.

LEGO Ideas International Space Station (21321) Officially Revealed

After some teaser via social media and a brief appearance at a signing event in Germany two weeks ago, the LEGO Ideas International Space Station (21321) has now been officially revealed and listed at LEGO Shop@Home. This next LEGO Ideas set came up on top during the LEGO Ideas 10th Year Anniversary Fan Vote where previous product ideas that garnered 10K fan support but never made it pass through the Review Stage, had another shot of being an official LEGO set.

LEGO Fairground Minifigures Pack (40373) Revealed

After the successful release of 2019’s series of Minifigure Packs, we now have a new entry in the series that will add more value and accessories to that custom LEGO amusement park that you might be working on. Official images of the LEGO Fairground Minifigures Pack (40373) were seen online courtesy of Promobricks.

Similar to last year’s releases, this upcoming fairground-themed minifig pack comes in at 51 pieces with four minifigures: a young girl and his dad visiting the fair, and two amusement park attendants. It also comes with a small shooting gallery build with targets, stud shooter and teddy bear prizes.

The LEGO Fairground Minifigures Pack (40373) is not yet listed at LEGO Shop@Home as of posting but it is expected to retail for $12.99, same as its predecessors. There’s also an upcoming LEGO Ninjago Minifigure Pack (40374) that comes in 73 pieces and follows the one that was released last year. We don’t have good, clear images of this yet but based on Promobrick’s report, it will feature a golden Zane minifigure with three black minifigures, probably similar to the Oni Battlepack characters.
