Marvel Thor’s Hammer (76209) Officially Revealed – Launching March 1st

We at The Brick Show have one last upcoming LEGO set to feature today, coming to us from Brickset. Do you still recall the buildable Infinity Gauntlet set (76191) from LEGO Marvel Infinity Saga last year? It seems we’ll be getting more in that vein soon enough. And what other Marvel, or MCU, item deserves to be replicated in LEGO? How about Mjolnir, Thor’s hammer? It’s certainly a magnificent weapon. Fans must’ve winced at its destruction in “Thor: Ragnarok” and rejoiced at its temporary return in “Avengers: Endgame.” Well, we’re getting LEGO Mjolnir alright, with a major US retailer getting it exclusively outside of LEGO.com itself.

The lucky retail giant is none other than Target, which now lists LEGO Marvel Thor’s Hammer (76209). It’s a magnificent brick-build of Mjolnir, resting on earth as it did in the first “Thor” movie (2011). The set comes with a Thor minifigure and three micro-builds of other stuff from Odin’s treasure room in Asgard. Remember those from “Ragnarok” (2017)? Like many other LEGO sets we’ve covered this week, it’s launching on both Target and LEGO.com this March 1. Preorders are also now available:

10-K Support: Norton74’s “Santa’s Cottages” Enters Ideas Review Stage (After Holidays)

We might be able to observe some trends in what product ideas are submitted and supported on LEGO Ideas. For instance, some submissions based on licensed IPs might be posted to celebrate said franchise’s milestone anniversary. These ones tend to gain 10-K support and enter review at least before the anniversary year arrives. For example, we have the Seinfeld set (21328, Ideas #36) from last year. It hit shelves three years after the 30th anniversary of the sitcom it’s based on. Other Ideas submissions tend to be seasonal, popping up at appropriate times of the year. This one gained full support later than the season it’s depicting. But it’s good.

ideas norton74 santascottage 1

Norton74, a LEGO Ideas 10K Club Member, got his build up to 10,000 supporters well after the Holiday season. It shouldn’t matter perhaps, if “Santa’s Cottage” is possibly announced before the Yuletide this year. This building set puts a modern spin on Santa Claus’ North Pole workshop. Still, builders will get a bright white reminder of where it is. It can be seen in the snowflake-covered trees, frost on the ledges, and the snowy surrounds. The cottage’s snow-white roof can be removed to easily access the interior, which can also be seen from the back.

ideas norton74 santascottage 2

Inside Santa’s cottage, two floors feature plenty of furnishings for jolly Saint Nick. Through the hobbit-like front-door he can sit down for meals. The dining room leads to Santa’s workshop at one end, and a fireplace in the other. Stairs lead up to his bedroom where he can rest before and after his toy-delivery runs. And do you remember how we mentioned the cottage being modern? That’s because Santa gets around in a rugged off-road vehicle. He shares his domicile with a husky dog and an elf apparently living underground.

LEGO Art Elvis Presley “The King” (31204) Revealed

Last week, we gazed in wonder at the official product listing of a new upcoming LEGO Art set. At least, fans of superheroes in general and DC’s Batman in particular would. After all, the Art set in question not only depicts the Dark Knight (and some of his equally iconic rogues). The designs were based on actual artwork by Jim Lee, comic-book artist extraordinaire and publisher-chief creative officer of DC Comics. Surely the Jim Lee Batman Collection (31205) won’t be topped by any other LEGO Art set coming soon? To that, the King of Rock and Roll issues a challenge.

Brickset tells us that LEGO.com has a new LEGO Art listing: Elvis Presley “The King” (31204). This one is for music lovers, especially followers of The King. One can use the tiles to build one of three possible Elvis portraits. Do you want the fresh-faced rocker, the movie star or The King in glory? Even better, combine three sets 31204 to create a memorabilia artwork that LEGO’s keeping secret for now. Like the Jim Lee Batman Collection (31205), LEGO Art Elvis Presley “The King” is coming out this March 1.

Elvis Presley “The King” (31204)

Age 18+ | 3,445 pieces | $119.99 |coming March 1

Display your passion

Build 1 of 3 wall decor pictures of Elvis Presley through the years – his start in music, in his prime or later in his career. Can’t choose one? Combine 3 sets to make the ultimate memorabilia piece. As you build, scan the QR code and listen to the Soundtrack, with nearly 2 hours of content tailor-made to really immerse you in the project. Finish the art piece with an Elvis Presley signature tile, ready to display on a wall or shelf.

31204 alt4

  • Choose from 3 designs – Explore the different faces of an icon as you build this LEGO® Art Elvis Presley “The King” (31204) wall art set, featuring a portrait kit with 3 build options
  • Made for display – This 3,445-piece LEGO® hobby project includes 9 canvas wall decor plates, an Elvis Presley signature tile, 2 hanger elements, a brick separator and brick-built frame
  • Created for Elvis Presley fans – Pay tribute to the King of Rock & Roll, creating a LEGO® portrait of the entertainer during his rise to fame, in his prime, or later in his career

LEGO Speed Champion Sets Coming March 1 Now Listed on LEGO.com

We’ve got more March 1 LEGO release info coming your way, this time courtesy of Brick Fanatics. Next on the reveal train is LEGO Speed Champions. And unlike the Creator 3-in-1 sets we found on a German retailer, these ones are officially added to LEGO shop.

The above is a social media post from LEGO regarding their Speed Champion sets coming March 1. All cars are on display. Since we know one of the revealed numbers was a double-vehicle set, this confirms the unnamed item as a double-car. But we’ll let the listings speak for themselves.

First Peek at LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Sets Coming March 1

Judging from the buzz we’ve been getting online over the weekend, LEGO is gearing for another mass release in March. A number of reveals covering several prominent LEGO themes are getting collectors excited for what’s coming. Some of these sets have been teased far back in the year that came before. These following items in particular surfaced in September 2021, when we covered them here on The Brick Show. Several set numbers for LEGO Creator were rattled off back then. Brickset managed to spot some of them off German retailer JB Spielwaren. If you like Creator 3-in-1 then you’re sure to love these upcoming launches.

  • Off-Road Buggy (31123)160 pieces, €14.99/$16.74

If you’d recall the September 2021 report we did on these 2022 Creator sets, you’ll realize this list is incomplete. Four more sets remain unlisted. They might not even come out on March 1. You know what that means: more waiting. In fact, we must also wait for until LEGO officially lists these Creator 3-in-1 items in the online shop. We’ll probably see that as February 2022 arrives this week.

Jiwoo’s “The Library” gains 10-K Support on LEGO Ideas

Many submissions to LEGO Ideas vying for official-set status tend to fall into already-existing main LEGO themes. We’ve certainly featured a multitude of contemporary building sets that would look right at home in LEGO City neighborhoods. The previous Review Stage gave us a music store and train station among several 10-K-supported sets fitting the City mold. Heck, LEGO City may be one of the easiest go-to themes for conceptualizing a product idea. Take for instance this submission by Ideas member Jiwoo, depicting a library building. But it’s not just any public library; it’s “The Library.”

ideas jiwoo thelibrary 1

Jiwoo pretty much mentions LEGO City as being where his submission easily fits in. The Library is a brick-built triumph of LEGO architecture, blending historical structural design with a bold present-day twist. The building is 3/4ths old-timer building with a large book-shaped edifice on one side. This fourth of the structure houses the stair access to the library’s two stories and roof deck.

ideas jiwoo thelibrary 2

The first floor is a cozy reading room dominated by tall floor-to-ceiling windows.

ideas jiwoo thelibrary 3

Floor two houses the book collection and an electronic database for quick reference. If a minifig patron prefers to read in the open air, they can use the table and chairs at the rooftop.

The Library exterior goes out of the way to make the establishment very welcoming. At the corner stand a classic lamppost and sign.

ideas jiwoo thelibrary 4

There’s even a pencil-shaped bench on one side to indicate that yes, this is a library building.

ideas jiwoo thelibrary 5

As for the book stairwell, three panels allow builders to peek into the interior for easy play access.

About the only downside we can see in this great submission is the fact that it includes only one “manager” minifigure. Regardless, Jiwoo’s “The Library” earned its 10-K support, so good luck.
