The New York Toy Fair 2020 is now happening at the Javits Center and as always, there are some cool reveals waiting to happen at the LEGO Booth this year. The Brothers Brick and German LEGO fan correspondent Andres Lehmann of Zusammengebaut are both at the floor of the International Toy Fair reporting the latest sets that are being unveiled at the LEGO Booth. And LEGO does not disappoint. The rumoredLEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 20 (71027) has now been officially revealed and we can now have a closer look at what to expect from this new CMF series. Check out the following images below.
This latest LEGO CMF series marks the theme’s 10th year anniversary and is slated to be released sometime in May.
The Toy Association’s annual recognition for those who contributed a great deal in the toy industry has been concluded, and it’s great to know that out of 16 categories, LEGO managed to bag 3 wins for the 2020 Toy of the Year Awards. If you recall, 5 LEGO sets were shortlisted to be included as nominees across the various categories recognized by The Toy Association.
Held at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in New York City, the 20th Annual Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards is like the “Oscars” of the toy industry where The Toy Association recognizes the best of the best among toys, games, and properties within the year. It also serves as a kick-off for the grandest toy fair on the planet, which is the North American International Toy Fair or better know as the New York Toy Fair. Check out The Toy Association’s full press release for the 2020 Toy of the Year Awards right here.
Though last year saw a better winning streak for LEGO during the 2019 Toy of the Year Awards where it received a total of four awards, this year is still considered a great achievement for the LEGO Group now that it marked its 4th win (since 2017) for the Specialty Toy of the Year Award Category.
Though LEGO wasn’t able to bag the 2020 Toy of the Year Award similar to its accomplishment back in 2017 with the LEGO Friends Amusement Park Roller Coaster (41130), being recognized across 3 out of 16 categories is an extraordinary achievement for the LEGO Group. It’s a testament to the company’s pursuit of providing the best possible play and building experience to children and adult fans as well.
Now that the red carpet is rolled out and the winners announced, be sure to stay tuned here in our blog site for more news coming from the LEGO Booth at this year’s New York Toy Fair. Will there be any new LEGO reveals? We’ll soon find out.
Following the success of the Mini-fig Scale Project Gemini earlier this month, we now have our next 2020 LEGO Ideas First Review Stage qualifier. The Retro Bowling Alley by Astronaut Avila managed to get 10,000 fan support over at the LEGO Ideas platform, effectively taking a step closer to becoming an official LEGO set.
If you recall, fan builder Astronaut Avila is also the person behind another 10K achieving project which is the Modular Arcade during the LEGO Ideas 2018 First Review Stage. Though this retro-styled gaming hub did not manage to best the rest of the entries dominated by now official LEGO Ideas sets The Flintstones (21316) and Tree House (21318), I am hopeful that this next entry will eventually get the thumbs-up approval of the LEGO Ideas Design Team.
Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect from this LEGO Ideas project.
LEGO Ideas Retro Bowling Alley
Following the theme of 10260 Downtown Diner, I present the Retro Bowling Alley. Features include:

What do you think of Astronaut Avila’s product idea? Do you think the Retro Bowling Alley has a good chance of becoming an official LEGO Ideas set? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

This year marks another milestone for The LEGO Group, especially that it’s LEGO Collectible Minifigure Series is marking its 10th Year Anniversary. We know that the next wave of LEGO’s CMF is slated to be released in May of this year, considering that the LEGO Catalog for the first half of the year has teased it already. This time, Promobricks reports that the LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 20 (71027) will be the next CMF line and will feature some character throwbacks to some of LEGO’s most loved themes.
Do take note that these are unofficial names for the LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 20, and are only based on how we can describe them. However, given that we’re just a couple of months away from Series 20’s official release in May, expect more information to come in during the next few weeks.
Accessories: a 2×3 green brick costume similar to the Red Brick Guy and Blue Brick Girl from 71021, brown hairpiece, and a 2×2 tile with the number 10 printed on it in celebration of the CMF’s 10th year anniversary.
LEGO is slowly revealing some of its new sets ahead of this year’s New York Toy Fair which will commence this weekend – and it looks like the Mandalorian and the Child (aka Baby Yoda) is getting an additional LEGO treatment. LEGO Shop@Home has now listed two new LEGO Star Wars the Mandalorian sets, including an earlier revealed BrickHeadz set dedicated to the duo.
Earlier this week, we saw the unintentional listing of Amazon Canada for a LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz The Mandalorian and the Child (75317), and this time around, LEGO finally confirms this as another entry in the growing number of BrickHeadz sets under the Star Wars theme.
Additionally, in a rather surprisingly welcomed move from LEGO, we can now expect a full LEGO set dedicated to the highly-rated Disney+ series – that includes the official LEGO Baby Yoda minifigure! The LEGO Star Wars The Razor Crest (75292) is slated to be released in September – just a month early before Season 2 of The Mandalorian series streams on Disney+. For most LEGO fans of the miniseries, the obvious selling point will be the inclusion of the much-hyped Baby Yoda minifig. Strictly speaking, Disney execs and writers are quick to point out that “The Child” is not in any way the toddler representation of the Master Jedi himself, but since fans were so adamant in referring to it as such, then Disney somehow let it slide.
The LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz The Mandalorian and the Child (75317) comes in at 295 pieces and will retail for $19.99 once it is released on August 1. The LEGO Star Wars The Razor Crest (75292) clocks in at 1,023 pieces with a retail price of $129.99, slated to be released on September 1.

While we’re waiting excitingly for Episode 3 of LEGO Masters US to air tonight, let’s go back and see some of the highlights of last week’s episode. Though it’s the reality show’s first high-stake chapter where we see our first heart-breaking eliminations – sadly, it was Jessie and Kara who have turned in their minifig avatars – we also saw some of the most epic Space Smash creations that LEGO Masters US Episode 2 can bring.
Episode 2 brought a smashing challenge to our 10 pairs of LEGO Masters where they are tasked to create an epic alien-inspired build that will be obliterated in the most magnificent fashion. Check out the final entries of our brick contenders. All images are courtesy of Fox.

Victory smiled favorably on the newlyweds, Tyler and Amy, with their gorgeous, brick storytelling of “The Sacrifice”. Their story is straightforward but emotionally compelling both on visual and conceptual levels. The Hero, in order to permanently stop the scourge of the alien monster, offered his life by dropping a canister bomb that destroys the alien and himself in the process. The story’s dramatic tone was felt even more striking when Tyler and Amy rendered the Hero’s Sacrifice in the most spectacular way using an ingenious combination of LEGO bricks and good ‘ol gravity.
Thanks to our Hero’s sacrifice, Tyler & Amy were handsomely rewarded, with the couple dominating LEGO Masters US Episode 2.
I love how the organic shape of the monster alien turned out, with its over-sized eye and menacing tentacles, in contrast to our Hero’s mech-inspired build. But of course, it was the way the build exploded when LEGO Masters US host Will Arnett dropped it from the balcony that surely impressed contest judges Jamie Berard and Amy Corbett. “The Sacrifice” secured Tyler & Amy in the first place for this episode, while Sam & Jessica and Jessie & Kara dragged behind the rankings. Sadly, Jessie & Kara were struggling to put everything together with their Alien Attack build and was eventually the first pair to be eliminated from the competition.
As a tribute to the brick Hero of LEGO Masters US Episode 2, Tyler created a miniaturized version of this story that retells the triumph of selfless space defender.
In case you missed it, Tyler & Amy also stood out in the show’s pilot episode with their Funny Farm theme park MOC. You may also want to see Tyler’s mini build version of this.
Remember to tune in tonight at Fox for the third episode of LEGO Masters US 9/8c. Tonight’s challenge will be “Cut in Half” where our now 9 pairs of brick masters will have to build the missing half of any random objects in the most spectacular LEGO fashion.

Other than a LEGO City-inspired minifig set, LEGO Ninjago is also getting another minifigure pack for 2020 and it looks like it will be a kind of shoutout to one of Ninjago’s previous seasons. The LEGO Ninjago Golden Zane Minifigure Accessory Set (40374) is now listed at LEGO Shop@Home and is slated to be released on March 1st as well.
This new minifigure set is inspired by Season 3 of LEGO Ninjago released back in 2014, and includes an exclusive Golden Zane minifig together with a trio of Nindroids. Though this particular season of Ninjago introduced us to our ninja’s mysterious golden power, it seems that only two of the main Ninjago characters – Lloyd (The Golden Dragon 70503 and 70666, Temple of Light 70505, LEGO Dimensions Lloyd Fun Pack 71239) and Kai (exclusive Bricktober 2017 Ninjago Minifigure Collection 5004938) – were given their official golden power minifigures. This latest minifigure offering now adds to a relatively rare collection of LEGO Ninjago Golden Power minifigs, so I would assume that this will be popular among collectors.
Read on for the full details of this new minifig set, and you may add this to your LEGO shopping wishlist so you won’t miss out on this one once it is available.
