Amazon France Releases More Official Images of 2017 LEGO Nexo Knights Summer Sets.

This piece of news has been floating around for quite some time, but seems to have fallen off the radar. LEGO is definitely preparing the way for its next batch of offerings, as its servers have been gradually uploading official images of its summer sets slated to be released in June. We already saw the additional images of this year’s MCU-themed sets, which includes those from LEGO Marvel Superheroes’ Spiderman Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok.  This time, Amazon France released additional images of the LEGO Nexo Knights summer sets, with a scheduled release date of June 1. These sets include the vehicles and stone army monsters as seen in Season 4 of the series. LEGO servers don’t include them yet in their database, but since Amazon France has taken the initiative of listing them for pre-order, it will not be long until we see them posted at shop.LEGO.com as well.

I understand that not everyone is that optimistic nor excited about the Nexo Knights theme, with some pointing out to its relatively unattractive, seemingly hodgepodge design only to be worsened by its unappealling, translucent blue and orange color scheme. There are even rumors floating around that LEGO might be pulling the plug on the Nexo Knights theme, even to the extent of not releasing this year’s summer sets. However, as we can see from Amazon’s French website, there is still life on this underrated theme. I guess we just have to wait and see for what the future holds for our heroes of Knighton. For the mean time, let’s take a look at these images.

More Official Images of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Thor: Ragnarok Now Up.

It seems that LEGO’s servers have more to offer recently other than the official images of the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Spiderman Homecoming sets which we shared earlierThis time, LEGO has uploaded more images of its next MCU-themed sets in line with Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok. This next MCU film is the third to be offered this year, with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 jumpstarting things earlier this month (by the way, be sure to check Tyler’s awesome UCS Milano MOC), to be followed by Spiderman Homecoming in July, and Thor: Ragnarok in November. 2017 is truly a great year to be a LEGO Marvel Superheroes fan!

Box art (place holders only) of the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Thor: Ragnarok sets, along with those from Spiderman Homecoming, were first shown during the Nuremburg Toy Fair in Germany last January. However, since the release of the film’s official teaser trailer last month, more and more info has been revealed about these LEGO Marvel sets, which also gives us a glimpse of what will probably happen in the film. Such an early release of these images also gives me a feeling that we might soon see the official images of LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes’ Justice League sets. If you recall, we shared a report regarding the unofficial release of an image lifted from LEGO’s catalogue that show pictures of these sets. In response to the LEGO Group’s request, we have them removed from our site due to possible spoilers about the film.

As I mentioned before, since these images from the Thor: Ragnarok sets are now officially uploaded to LEGO servers, we can expect their product descriptions and release dates to be announced soon.

More Official Images of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Spiderman Homecoming Now Available!

LEGO servers have now uploaded more official images of two of its sets dedicated to the next MCU film, Spiderman Homecoming just in time for the film’s debut in July. We saw them back at the New York Toy Fair last February, but LEGO was still understandably cautious then on giving away any spoilers about the film.

These sets were roughly teased on the film’s official teaser trailer, and now we get to take a closer look at some of their cool play features and minifigures. I’m not that particularly excited about the sets save, for the minifigures included with them, especially those of the masked robbers in ATM Heist Battle (76082). As it appears, they come with dual printed headpieces that can be used for a variety of MOCs. I should also say that the way the van was designed in the Beware the Vulture (76083) set is pretty cool in itself, where the stud shooters can be neatly tucked in or concealed inside the van. Since these images were uploaded already by LEGO, we can expect that these sets to be released any time in June. Let’s take a look.

Kylo Ren Will Get A New TIE Fighter in The Last Jedi – and Will LEGO Pick It Up as a New Star Wars Set?

Last month, we featured our take on the LEGO Star Wars The Last Jedi sets that we want to see based on the film’s official teaser trailer. As always, resident master builder Tyler was quick to draw inspiration from the trailer and came up with his own version of one of the sets mentioned in our wish list – the LEGO Star Wars Resistance Skimmer MOC.

WATCH: LEGO THE LAST JEDI RESISTANCE SKIMMER “SET” REVIEW (MOC)

We’re still half through the year before we hear any words from LEGO regarding the official sets planned for The Last Jedi, but some online retailers may probably be giving away some hints and minor spoilers about The Last Jedi that may well translate to another promising LEGO set.

This is particularly the case as Making Star Wars have revealed several days ago. They were quick to take note (and a screen grab) of what they believe to be a pre-order listing from online store Mikado (the listing has been taken down eventually) about a Hot Wheels version of Kylo Ren’s TIE Fighter. Thankfully, Making Star Wars managed to a get a shot of the said TIE Fighter, though the image quality is not that clear to allow us a more detailed look.

IMG 8383

In a related post, MSW managed to get some insider info on how Kylo Ren’s new starfighter will look. According to their post,

Supreme Leader Snoke was let down by Kylo Ren when he failed to stop the “girl.” Now he is trying to prove himself. He doesn’t wear his helmet as much as he did in the first film from what I’ve been told. His new TIE has pointy wings like the TIE Interceptor, but with a pill shaped body. The cockpit is sort of like an old B-29 bomber compared to the classic TIE cockpit window. The thrusters in the back remind me of the Falcon as they glow blue and sort of evoke the Falcon. The custom ship was supposedly made to his specifications so he could take down the Resistance and I believe we see Kylo fly from the Mega Destroyer in his new ship.

This comes close to the image of what Mikado released, with Kylo Ren’s TIE Fighter having a sleeker, design akin to that of a TIE Interceptor. It has wide and slender wings, with a cockpit similar to that of the old B-29 bomber. We never got to see Kylo fly his own ship before in The Force Awakens, and as Star Wars News Net has noted, it will be an awful lot of wasted heritage if we don’t see Kylo up there engaging in a space dog fight. His granddad was once touted to be the best star-pilot in the galaxy, while his father is famous for flying through an unforgiving asteroid belt and making it out alive. Not to mention piloting the iconic Millennium Falcon, and making the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.

LEGO has released several versions of the TIE Fighter in the past and it will certainly be great to see Kylo Ren in action as he engages the Rebel forces aboard his very own TIE Fighter. As of to date, LEGO has only released Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle (75104) as a nod to his very own ship (which he didn’t pilot by the way) as seen in the first scenes of The Force Awakens.

75104 1

We might as well add Kylo Ren’s TIE Fighter to our wish list of LEGO TLJ sets that we want to see, and we certainly hope to have this as an official LEGO set later on.

So what do you think, brick fans? Excited about this possibility? Let us know in the comments below.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Now Available for Pre-Order.

After our previous post regarding Traveller’s Tales and WB Games’ announcement of the long awaited sequel, LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2, retail giants Best Buy and Amazon has now listed the highly anticipated video game for pre-order. The box art teases a variety of Marvel super heroes both from their MCU iterations and comic book counterparts. We see the Black Panther stalking in the background, GOTG’s Rocket and Baby Groot (earlier seen in the game’s teaser video), the mystically imbued Captain Marvel and MCU’s Doctor Strange, Gladiator Hulk as he is seen in Thor: Ragnarok, alongside with Cowboy Captain America, and our friendly neighborhood wall crawlers Spider-Gwen, and Spider-Man 2099 straight from the comics. The box art also hints at the game’s overarching nemesis, the infamous Kang the Conqueror, whose image you can see in the background. Here’s the press release courtesy of Business Wire, and stay tuned for the game’s full trailer on May 23. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is slated to be released on November 14, 2017.

LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 Officially Announced – Will Be Available Across All Major Consoles, Including the Nintendo Switch.

A few moments ago, Traveller’s Tales and WB Games have announced the long awaited sequel to its Marvel-powered 2013 video game smash hit, LEGO Marvel Superheroes, with Baby Groot being on the spotlight (or should I say crossfire). The hit video game may be considered as the most successful, and best LEGO video game of its time, second only to the hilarious LEGO City Stories: Undercover. But given the huge popularity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe nowadays, and considering the recent box office success of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, then it only naturally follows that a LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 is in order.

Baby Groot may not be that happy as the rest of us, as he dodges Green Goblin’s explosive mayhem, but seeing the teaser trailer below sure got a lot of fans excited. Not only does the trailer promise a full reveal of the game on May 23, Tuesday next week, it was also announced that LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 will be available across all major consoles, including the Nintendo Switch. Here’s what to expect.

Join your favorite Super Heroes and Super Villains from different eras and realities as they go head-to-head with the time-traveling Kang the Conqueror in an epic battle across Chronopolis, from Ancient Egypt and The Old West to Sakaar and New York City in 2099. The promotional poster for the game also hints that we will be seeing more MCU iterations of our favorite Marvel superheroes and villains. Brick Show’s Top 10 Marvel-Inspired LEGO MOCs!

Every now and then, we feature a top 10 Brick List that showcases the best, LEGO creations out there, and even those that we wish to see in the future. For this week, we would like to share our selection of the best Marvel-inspired LEGO MOCs, thanks to the efforts of our Brick List researcher and narrator James Hicks. In no particular order, this is our take on the best Marvel-themed MOCs around.

WATCH: 10 AMAZING LEGO MARVEL CREATIONS

#10  – X-Men Sentinel by Henry Pinto

Sentinel unleashed!!! #legosentinel #lego

If you recall, the Sentinel has been the mechanical bane of the X-Men for as long as they can remember. When the X-Men TV series took off in the 1990s, it even started the season by paying tribute to these technological atrocities. This brick-built version of the walking behemoth was perfectly captured by Australian builder Henry Pinto using 7.5 kilograms of LEGO bricks just in time for the Sydney Brick Show in April last year.

#9 – Spiderman vs the Sinister Six by Tim Lydy

Spider-Man vs. The Sinister Six

Tim’s MOC captures the apparent frustration of the web crawler as he tries to save everyone on this construction site, against the unholy allegiance of super-powered villains collectively called as the Sinister Six. It’s just a terrible lot to be caught in.

#8 – Ghost Rider by Dennis Qiu

MOC - Ghost Rider

This is by far THE best LEGO Ghost Rider MOC that we have ever seen for a while. Dennis managed to recreate the horrifyingly cool atmosphere that surrounds this Marvel hero from hell using mostly LEGO technic parts for the motorcycle build, and Bionicle pieces for the Ghost Rider himself. Dennis also underscored the Rider’s terrifying presence by adding plenty of flame elements around it.

#7 – Baby Groot by Tyler

I am Groot

Of course, our very own Tyler Clites also makes it to our Top 10 Marvel-inspired LEGO creations, with his own version of the adorable Baby Groot as seen in the first Guardians of the Galaxy Film. This fun version of Baby Groot highlights Tyler’s impressive building techniques as he captures the looks of Baby Groot dancing to the tune of the Jackson 5.

#6 – The X-Men Mansion by Glen Bricker

Mansion with figs

cerebro and observation deck

Glen Bricker lives up to his name by building a modest looking LEGO version of the famed X-Men Mansion. On the outside, there seems to be nothing special about it, but once you turn it around, then the Mansion reveals its inner working in all of its modular glory. The build itself is layered and I love the many possibilities that its modular design can offer.  Glen has also included the iconic Danger Room at the bottom of the Mansion.

#5 – She-Hulk and Iron Man Team-up by Ben Cossy

She-Hulk and Iron Man Team up

This MOC is inspired by Superior Iron Man #1 comic. The build cleverly portrays Magneto as he ‘lifts’ the vehicles around and throws them towards She-Hulk. Ben uses several transparent rods to hold the vehicles in place, giving the impression that they are suspended in mid-air. I also like the painstaking details that Ben added to the pavement using a handful of circular gray plates and studs.

#4 – Marvel Superhero Battle by Johnny Walker

DSC_0060

With so many things going on in this MOC, it’s kind of hard to decide where to start first. We have Ice Man, Doctor Octopus, Iron Man, and a host of Marvel superhero legends battling it out in front of a humble comic book store. It features several fight scenes among the heroes and baddies of Marvel such as the Green Goblin vs Spider-Man, Captain America going on a free fall, Ice Man joining the fray, Rogue jumping into action, and Iron Fist ready to take a swing with his destructive knuckles among many others.

#3 – Spider-Man vs Sandman by Thorsten Bonsch

Spider-Man vs. Sandman

Thornsten’s MOC seems to look like it leaped from a comic book page. Spider-Man seems to get more than what he bargained for when he confronts Sandman and his intimidating sand creation. The building techniques used in creating the ‘sand hand’ gives a seamless effect throughout the build. Throw in a terrified crowd of minifigs, and you have one action packed scene straight from the comics.

#2 – X-Men Phoenix by Alex S

LEGO - Marvel/SuperHeroes - Phoenix heats up...

This Marvel creation is based on the original Dark Phoenix Saga published in 1980. We see the Jean Gray’s minifigure as it is engulfed in flames. Alex made very good use of various red flame pieces and lighting techniques to create that mesmerizing effect of showing that breaking point in Jean’s psyche. It is a very impressive build that seems to come alive as a set.

#1 – LEGO Avengers Tower by DownUnder Bricks

This MOC by Australian YouTuber and LEGO aficionado that goes by the name DownUnder Bricks, was put on display during last year’s Brickvention in Australia. The level of detail on this MOC starting with the pond and garden beds outside the Avengers HQ, and even Tony Stark’s bar and lounge, is absolutely impressive.

This 1,500 Piece LEGO UCS-Style Milano MOC is of Galactic Proportions!

What defines a superhero? Is it the clothes he wears, the gadgets that he wields, the awesome mix tape that he plays, or the sweet, sleek ride that he takes pride on? If you have a band of heroes as big the Guardians of the Galaxy, then it wouldn’t hurt to have a bit of them all. Throw in some neat character builds, a retro music player and a 1,500-piece, LEGO UCS style Milano and you’re all set.

Yes, you heard it right. Our resident master builder is back with another GOTG-inspired, jaw-dropping build that will make any LEGO Ultimate Collector Series set pale in comparison. Admittedly, we wish LEGO could have done a better design with their reboot of the Milano as seen in the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Milano vs The Abilisk (76081) set. However, we just feel that the official LEGO sets did not capture the magnificence of this ship as portrayed in Marvel’s cinematic universe. In fact, this second iteration of the famed spaceship is noticeable smaller than its predecessor as seen in The Milano Spaceship Rescue (76021) set released in 2014. So with a healthy amount of discontent, Tyler is back with another build that pays tribute to the Milano, and at 1,500 pieces, it is pretty closer to the real thing.

01

Tyler’s latest creation boasts of a UCS-type version of the Milano that comes with various play features even at a minifig scale. It roughly measures 2-feet wide from one wing tip to the other, and 1-foot long from the front all the way to the back engine. It has a cockpit that opens using a canopy piece used in the Milano vs the Abilisk set, and it is actually big enough to fit in three minifigures. Its huge wings feature 4 flexible panels at the end that can be posed at varied angles.

UCS Milano 2 UCS Milano 3

The back of this Milano also features tons of details. Starting with the engine, the ship features a textured and faceted surface, with a prominent orange, gray, and blue color scheme. What I find nice about the tail part of Tyler’s Milano MOC is how he was able to create pairs of articulated engines of sorts, very similar to how we saw them in the Milano, as it fly and maneuver in the film.

02

Perhaps the best part of Tyler’s Milano UCS MOC is the inclusion of an interior. Yes, this Milano has play features cleverly concealed – you simply remove the top portion to have access to the cool, fun details inside.

04

It sports two compartments, the one being a sort of meeting room just behind the cockpit area where you can find Baby Groot and Rocket. Perhaps a bit of a pep talk from the surrogate dad? Anyways, the last part of the compartment is a kind of bunker where our heroes can rest. It uses the same dark orange pieces as seen in the cockpit seats. Finally, this Milano MOC even comes with a stand for display purposes, and a full range of GOTG minifigures.

03 05

As typical of Tyler, he shares several building techniques as he explains the features of his MOC. Here’s Tyler with more details on how he built this very impressive LEGO UCS-style Milano MOC.

If you are impressed by Tyler’s creations as much as we are, be sure to check out his other GOTG builds such as his character figures and Star-Lord’s Classic Walkman.

Is This How the LEGO Star Wars Han Solo Sets Will Look?

Since the release of the first, highly anticipated official teaser trailer of Star Wars: The Last Jedi in April, many LEGO Star Wars fans (including us here at Brick Show) couldn’t help but wonder what particular sets LEGO has in the works for this 8th instalment in the Star Wars saga. We gave our own two cents, so to speak, with our take on seven possible LEGO Star Wars: The Last Jedi sets that we want to see, based on the film’s official teaser trailer.

The Last Jedi is slated to hit theaters this December, and shortly right after that, five months to be exact, the second of Lucasfilm’s spin-off/anthology films following Rogue One, will make its theatrical debut. We already know that Han Solo: A Star Wars Story, is now in production with actor Alden Ehrenreich taking the role of the younger version of the coolest rogue in the galaxy. There has been very little information about the film other than the official announcement of its cast, and a (very) limited tour of the Han Solo production set led by Warwick Davis as part of their Force for Change campaign.

However, this time around, we may now have more details about the Han Solo anthology film other than the actors and their production setup. Thanks to Bothan spies from Star Wars News Net, we now have a look on some possible vehicles and mode of transport that will be used in Han Solo. SWNN claims to have taken hold of some concept art images used in the film when it was still coded as Project Red Cup. Red Cup if you recall, is a pun on the red plastic cups manufactured by a company named as, as you may have guessed, Solo. According to SWNN, they found an eBay listing that shows “multiple brand new concept art images featuring ship designs and a sketch of Han Solo’s costume from the movie”. The said eBay posting was taken down from the site, but not without SWNN saving some of those images. Take a look.

Based on these images, we can glean four possible, Han Solo ships that may well translate into the next wave of LEGO Star Wars sets dedicated to the film. The first three images suggest a kind of Speeder Bike common to several sets such found in LEGO Star Wars Scout Trooper and Speeder Bike (75532), Bounty Hunter Speeder Bike Battle Pack (75167), and Ezra’s Speeder Bike (75090).

The second and third concept art clearly shows a kind of transport vehicle both used by Resistance and Imperial forces as seen with the Imperial Troop Transport (75078) and Resistance Troop Transporter (75140) sets. The concept art for this Han Solo transport vehicle features a walking platform for several Imperial Stormtroopers, and seems to designed for land or terrestrial transport. It also hints on vertical launching capabilities as the wings can be folded upwards.

The last concept art is the only image that suggests of a typical Star Wars ship capable of intergalactic travel. It is quite an intriguing design which sports a U-Wing kind of look similar to what is seen in the Rebel U-Wing Fighter (75155). The over-all look of the ship seems to point out on the possibility that the prominent, wing-like structure attached to its sides may well act like auxiliary boosters of some sorts similar to the functionalities of the hyperdrive ring seen in the Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive (75191) set.

Curiously, the eBay posting of these concept arts did not include Han Solo’s iconic vehicle that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs. There was no hint of the Millennium Falcon among these sketches which makes you wonder what is the real score between the younger Solo and his beloved ship.

Will the Millenium Falcon make an appearance in Han Solo: A Star Wars Story?

Bear in mind that these images are early concept arts, and since Han Solo: A Star Wars Story is still in production, there are so many things that can change in the course of the film’s development. Nevertheless, it is quite interesting to think of these possibilities and if we will eventually see these sets translated into actual LEGO builds.

So what do you think brick fans? Do you like what you see in these Han Solo concept arts? Do you think these ships will eventually be made into actual LEGO sets? Share us your thoughts in the comments below or join in the discussions in our Facebook page.
