LEGO City Rumor: Rocket Launch Pad Set for 2022

LEGO and space exploration have long been a classic theme combination. From the basic rocket-ship builds with Benny spacemen, space-themed LEGO sets have gone bigger and better. Some of these sets have been seen in LEGO City as late as 2019. LEGO also teamed up with NASA for some awesome joint projects. Toy-wise we got the Space Shuttle Discovery (10283). Elsewhere, LEGO Education created the “Build to Launch” STEM exploration series. In October came rumors that the “Build to Launch” minifigure characters might appear in new space-theme LEGO City sets. New speculation now reinforces the possibility of a LEGO City space set coming next year.

We’ve started keeping an eye out on Instagram’s brick_clicker for possible upcoming LEGO set leaks. This new one doesn’t disappoint. Apparently LEGO City will get a Rocket Launch Pad set, numbered 60351. The only other information regarding this rumored set includes price ($169.99) and possible launch (punny) window (March 2022). Oh yeah, and apparently this will be a retailer exclusive. We have no idea yet if any included minifigs might depict the “Build to Launch” crew. Judging from pricing though, Rocket Launch Pad (60351) is bigger than 2019’s Deep Space Rocket and Launch Control (60228).

LEGO feels overdue in following up from the 2019 LEGO City space sets, but better late than never. We still await the possibility that the “Build to Launch” characters will migrate from their LEGO Education series. But for now, the above news involves a leak/rumor. Best to take it with a grain of salt. LEGO ought to confirm or debunk this speculation sooner or later.

New LEGO Ideas Sonic Mania Rumor: Possible # of Pieces

Sega’s “Sonic the Hedgehog” once got LEGO representation via character-level pack in the now-defunct “LEGO Dimensions” videogame. LEGO Ideas member Viv “toastergrl” Grannell sought to change that with her product idea. Her “Sonic Mania – Green Hill Zone” passed the Second 2020 Review Stage earlier this year. Afterwards, the now soon-to-be-official set became a prime subject for various rumors. The last big batch of speculations since September included set number (21331), price (€69.99/$83.08) and release date (January 1, 2022). This previous weekend, one new little rumor was caught by Brick Fanatics.

They cite this new info from brick_clicker on Instagram, with his weekend post regarding this heavily-anticipated LEGO Ideas set. According to him, the set may now just be called “Sonic Mania” (dropping “Green Hill Zone”). Next, set 21331 will apparently be comprised of 1,125 pieces. Interestingly, while earlier rumors (care of Promobricks) pegged the set’s retail price at €69.99, the US$ pricing’s roughly similar. Other than that, brick_clicker again reiterates the New Year’s 2022 release. Barring new possible changes, the set will still comprise parts to build Green Hill Zone. Brick Fanatics did its own speculation on additional characters beyond the Sonic minifigure and buildable Dr. Robotnik/Eggman. Nothing’s concrete though.

And with that, we leave you with the reminder that the above info is mere rumor for now. We just hope LEGO will soon give concrete details on their Ideas Sonic Mania set for everyone. Oh, and the above photo is from toastergrl’s original product idea, just for possibility reference.

LEGO “Back to the Future” DeLorean Rumor Returns; April/July 2022 Release?

LEGO is an old hand in making everything old new again, sort of. Many of their set releases and GWPs turn out to be revamps of ones they rolled out years or decades ago. You know the LEGO Harry Potter Gryffindor Dorms (40452) GWP? It’s a slightly more detailed reissue of the “very old” Gryffindor House (4722) set from the theme’s early years. Now German LEGO news source Promobricks tells us of an upcoming set based on an early LEGO Ideas set. How early? The original set, DeLorean (21103), was the fourth release back when LEGO Ideas was LEGO Cuusoo.

Now, this isn’t exactly an original rumor. Earlier this year, social media would speculate that set 10290 was the DeLorean from “Back to the Future.” Of course, we know for very long now that it was the Creator Expert Pickup Truck instead. But Promobricks has it that the LEGO DeLorean rumor still lives. New details allege that the set, number 10300, will release early next year. It will first become available in April 2022 for VIPs, then generally by July. The retail price for this rumored DeLorean (10300) will be €169.99, or $194.70 (direct conversion).

Now, as exciting as that might sound, heed the usual disclaimer. The above is a rumor, and must be treated as such until LEGO gives official word. Still, a new brick-build “Back to the Future” DeLorean sounds cool. Let’s hope this new allegation pans out.

From the Rumor Mill: LEGO Star Wars UCS AT-AT (75313) Expected to be a Black Friday Release

By now, LEGO Star Wars collectors in the know are waiting with baited breaths for November 9. We previously covered a rumor saying this is the day LEGO comes clean about its supposed UCS AT-AT Walker. But if these leaked images do check out, there may be no need to wait for LEGO’s confirmation. It would appear the LEGO Star Wars UCS AT-AT (75313) is real. In other news, we know LEGO has some big Black Friday reveals lined up this November, and this might well include the much anticipated LEGO Star Wars UCS AT-AT (75313) set.

Germany’s Promobricks.de brings us these jaw-dropping leak developments. Multiple leaked images on Instagram have shown images of this upcoming set, with the one featured here coming from lego_fulcrum. As can be seen in our top image, it’s a beauty. Further leaked details shared on social media and gathered by Promobricks provide the following figures and specs:

  • Pieces: 6,782
  • Minifigures: 9 (Veers, Pilots x2, Snowtroopers x5, Luke Skywalker)
  • Price: €799.99/$924.28 (direct conversion)
  • Release: November 26, 2021

This mammoth-sized brick-built walker features a roomy interior that is enough to house all but one of the above-mentioned minifigs. Access is granted by merely lifting the side armor flaps. And as the date would have it, we’re getting set 75313 on Black Friday 2021. This bit of news may be a done deal now. Still, for formality’s sake, we ask readers to regard all leaked information as rumors. We must wait until they come right out of LEGO’s mouth.

LEGO Marvel 2022 Rumor: Hulkbuster Mk-II?

LEGO collectors of themes based on licensed IPs usually have a good sense of what sets to expect per franchise. With LEGO Marvel the focus tends to go on big vehicles. Character-wise, Tony Star/Iron Man can be counted on to have sets centered on him. Powered armors do make for lots of brick-building potentials. Speaking of Iron Man’s armors, you can look no further than Stark’s Hulkbuster. This armor-for-an-armor specializes in tackling Hulk-sized problems, as seen in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. That Hulkbuster was given the LEGO treatment back in 2018 with the introduction of the  LEGO Marvel Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition (76105). And apparently, a new LEGO Hulkbuster is probably coming by next year in the likes of the Hulkbuster Mk-II

We have another LEGO rumor to speculate on courtesy of Promobricks. As hinted above, LEGO’s apparently planning a new Hulkbuster set for their Marvel Super Heroes line. This one will be based on the Iron Man Mk-XLVIII armor, aka the Hulkbuster Mk-II. Where the first Hulkbuster was in the “Age of Ultron” movie, this one’s from Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Ironically, Iron Man himself never uses this Hulkbuster in the film. Instead Bruce Banner – at the time unable to “Hulk-out” – commandeers the armor for the Battle of Wakanda. The buster Mk-II boasts different weapons load-outs.

Promobricks’ rumor details have this LEGO Marvel Hulkbuster Mk-II at 50-60cm [twice larger than the Hulkbuster: Ultron Edition (76105)]. It also gets an info plaque for the base, a collector’s badge and Tony Stark minifig. But other than that the rumored upcoming set has fewer extras than 76105. With an alleged 2,500+ pieces and a €200-250/$231.70-289.62 price, the set’s due for 2022. Now, remember that this is still rumor, and LEGO has plenty of time to confirm or debunk it.

Long-Rumored LEGO Star Wars UCS AT-AT Gets Possible Reveal Date

Some LEGO rumors get confirmed or debunked in a matter of days or weeks. Other times it takes up to a month or more before the truth comes out. The former case just happened with the LEGO Disney “Encanto” sets, first hinted late October and revealed over a week later. In the latter case we look to this rumor since September of a new LEGO Star Wars AT-AT UCS-grade set. This one feels more nebulous considering LEGO did release a new AT-AT set just this past 2020. But the rumor claims the UCS AT-AT might be revealed sometime this November.

And chalk up another one to Brick Fanatics for catching this new rumor on the aforementioned alleged set. They point to lego_club_news on Instagram for putting a specific date this month for a possible UCS AT-AT reveal. There is a possibility that LEGO might finally say something about that Tuesday next week, November 9. If true, then this LEGO Star Wars UCS set will out-price the LEGO Titanic at $800 ($799.99?). Other tidbits relating to this rumor include the possible set number (75313?) and piece number (6,782?). A UCS Imperial AT-AT will definitely tower over standard minifigure-size Stormtroopers, for sure.

Our standard spiel regarding rumors on The Brick Show goes here. Take the above with a grain of salt until LEGO themselves give the official word. It’s not as if we’ll have long to wait for any possible confirmation, anyway.

Rumor of LEGO Creator Expert Vespa (10298) for 2022, with Tie-In GWP (40517)

LEGO boasts a multitude of product lines and themes featuring vehicles, for their gear-headed collector customers. What set theme to choose depends on how you like your fave rides depicted in LEGO bricks. Do you want small and speedy Speed Champions? Do the mechanical details in LEGO Technic  sets fascinate you? Or do you favor the artistic quality of Creator Expert releases? The third line has wowed us with Porsches and Camper Vans and Pickup Trucks this year alone. What might the Creator Experts teams have in store for their faithful collectors next year? Fancy another two-wheeled LEGO vehicle building project?

Brick Fanatics got this rumor courtesy of brick_clicker on Instagram. Their post details an alleged new set releasing early next year, for the Creator Expert/LEGO for Adults/18+ line. It will be a scooter build depiction of Italy’s iconic Vespa luxury brand, numbered 10298. brick_clicker pegs its launch sometime in early 2022 for the price of $100 (or $99.99 more likely). Also included, apparently, is another Vespa-themed promotional set numbered 40517, releasing at the same time. Brick Fanatics believes it to be a GWP. The setup is similar to the Creator Expert Camp Nou (10284) with the GWP Barcelona Celebration (40485). It’s rumored to repeat with Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

With that info out of the way, we must now close with the disclaimer. This tidbit is a rumor and should remain so until LEGO eventually confirms or debunks it. But that shouldn’t discourage collectors from hoping that it’s real.

Rumor of LEGO Muppets CMF Series (71033) for 2022

Trying to guess what LEGO stuff to expect next year, can be rather fun. That goes double for when you at least know the product number, and just speculate on the contents. Last week we touched on the rumors regarding LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 22 (71032). These contain original LEGO minifig characters, but the licensed-IP series are great too. This year we had such neat batches like Looney Tunes and Marvel (from Disney+ MCU series). It should just be the right time for rumors regarding a licensed-IP CMF series to surface. Kind of like this one courtesy of Brick Fanatics.

Speculation on a possible LEGO Muppets collectible minifigure series have been circulating since September. Now however, the alleged CMF series just got its possible product number – 71033. Yep, that immediately follows the original-LEGO CMF series 22 (71032). LEGO’s supposed to release the Muppets minifig series on May 2022. They’re supposed to have the same price-per-minifig as Looney Tunes (71030) and Marvel (71031). But which Muppet characters make the CMF cut? We got this rumored list:

  • Animal
  • Beaker
  • Dr. Bunsen Honeydew
  • Fozzie Bear
  • Gonzo
  • Janice
  • Kermit the Frog
  • Miss Piggy
  • Rowlf the Dog
  • Statler
  • Swedish Chef
  • Waldorf

There you have it: the 12 minifigs for the alleged LEGO Muppets CMF (71032). Note that the information provided are just rumors, to be taken with that grain of salt until LEGO speaks up.

LEGO Rumor: Creator Expert Set of Real Madrid’s Stadium for 2022?

Are we going to get a new major-league football/soccer stadium LEGO set released year by year now? At the start of 2020 LEGO brought us a Creator Expert build of Manchester United’s home stadium, the Old Trafford (10272). This year they did it again. Surely you can still recall the sweet Creator Expert rendition of FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou (10284). Once might be a stroke of fortune and twice, a coincidence. But LEGO pulling a hat trick would totally be deliberate. At least that’s how it looks considering a new “stadium set” rumor brought to us by Promobricks.de in Germany.

Here’s the buzz: another LEGO Creator Expert set of a football stadium. The surprise part: it’s the home of another heavyweight Spanish team. After FC Barcelona we’re apparently getting the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu of Real Madrid. Check out these details:

  • Set #: 10299
  • Age: 18+
  • Release: 2022
  • RRP: €329.99/$383.14 (direct conversion)

No number of parts given yet. Actually this does bring up a question. The Estadio Santiago Bernabeu is under renovation (since 2019, with operations unhindered due to modernized Roman building techniques). Will LEGO depict the stadium as it did before the start of changes? Or will they flash forward to the finished product, due next year (possibly earlier due to COVID closure)? Promobricks also included rumors of a GWP (40541?), just like with Camp Nou (10284).

You know the disclaimer. The above info is just rumor at present. Maintain your salt diet until LEGO gives word.

LEGO Disney Rumor: Three “Encanto” Tie-In Sets in December

Back in 2017, Disney and Pixar showed their deft hand at handling Latin-American culture in their stories with “Coco.” Now, Disney is flying solo with another Latino-inspired story in “Encanto.” From the Mexican setting of “Coco,” we shift to Colombia. And instead of an afterlife journey themed on Dia de Muertos, here we get the adventures of a super-powered family. Well, super-powered except for one “normal human” member, Mirabel. “Encanto” is set to premiere next month on November 24. Disney of course has plenty of merchandise lined up. And if this new rumor is true, that merch includes LEGO sets.

This just in from Germany’s Promobricks.de: three LEGO sets based on “Encanto” coming in December. We fully expect them to be grouped under the LEGO Disney line. What we didn’t expect is the sets being with the Disney Princess sub-theme. Of course, that’s just according to the rumor dug up by Promobricks. The sets are:

  • Antonio’s Magic Door (43200) – age 5+ | 99 pieces | 2 figures | €19.99/$23.28
  • Isabela’s Magic Door (43201) – age 5+ | 114 pieces | 3 figures | €19.99/$23.28
  • Madrigal House (43202) – age 6+ | 587 pieces | 3 figures | €49.99/$58.22

Those are direct conversions.

All rumored LEGO Disney “Encanto” sets appear to be early-age level. Making them Disney Princess sets also means larger character figures. We’re supposed to expect these tie-ins to release on December 1. But keep in mind that they remain rumors until LEGO confirms or denies.
