A First Look at the LEGO Architecture The White House (21054)

If you recall earlier this year, attendees at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany had front row seats on the unveiling of the next LEGO Architecture set slated to be revealed this summer. Photography was strictly prohibited at that time, and rightfully so given that such a set is better off not spoiled with an ill-timed reveal. But thanks once again to online retailer Skvis Arena, we now have our first glimpse of the aesthetically impressive LEGO Architecture The White House (21054) set.

Similar to the earlier reveal of the LEGO Ninjago summer 2020 sets, what we have at the moment is a single box art image in a rather low-res quality. However, it is sufficient for us to appreciate the intricacies of this latest Architecture set. This brick rendition of the White House, is in fact, the second iteration of it. If you’re familiar with the theme, you might remember that the LEGO Architecture line had its first model of the said symbol of power back in 2010. However, this particular model is somewhat incomplete giving preference to the central portion (or the Residence Villa) of the White House as its highlight.

21054

Thankfully, the latest LEGO Architecture The White House (21054) supersedes its predecessor, and now includes a more accurate version of the presidential residence. Included in this newest version are the East and West Wings of the White House, with more details for its gardens and yards.

The set comes in at 1,483 pieces and measures at a remarkable 50 centimeters in length, retailing for 99.99 Euro making it a striking display piece. It is also the first LEGO Architecture set to bear the 18+ logo, clearly indicating its target audience. Skvis Arena lists the LEGO Architecture  The White House for a June 1, 2020 release, so we can expect additional and hopefully better images of this set anytime soon.

Special thanks once again to Promobricks for the heads up.

Watch Out for These LEGO House Exclusives Over at LEGO Shop@Home

While the COVID-19 pandemic is raging on across the globe, and most public establishments are closed indefinitely, LEGO is now offering previous LEGO House exclusives to be available to the general public starting May.

21037 1

Since the temporary closure of the Home of the Brick in Billund, Denmark certain exclusive sets such as the LEGO Architecture LEGO House (21037) surprisingly appeared at LEGO Shop@Home last Friday. Its appearance was relatively brief, with LEGO removing its listing right away after stocks ran out. From the looks of it, it may seem to be a dry-run for what the LEGO Group (TLG) intends to do come next month.

According to TLG’s press release, previous LEGO House exclusives such as the previously mentioned LEGO Architecture LEGO House (21037), LEGO House Dinosaurs (40366), and the LEGO House Tree of Creativity (4000026) will be available for sale at LEGO’s home shopping portal for a limited time only. However, its a bit of damper to know that the LEGO House Dinosaurs and Tree of Creativity will only be offered to fans in the UK, Denmark, and Ireland. It looks like the LEGO House is the only set in this group that will have a global offering. Perhaps LEGO is understandably limiting the sales of this set to retain its exclusivity, and because they made it clear that these LEGO House exclusives will only be available until such time that the LEGO House in Billund re-opens once again. Pricing may somehow be adjusted as well due to prevailing currency exchange so I’ll try to give updates on this as well. So if you’re eyeing for the LEGO House Tree of Creativity (such as myself) and you’re not living within these territories then the options that you may have, unfortunately, are either through third-party sellers, or eBay.

LEGO House Exclusives LEGO House Exclusives LEGO House Exclusives

Here’s what LEGO has to say about these exclusive offerings:

LEGO House exclusives to be sold via http://www.LEGO.com

The Covid-19 situation is closing down many great activities, and LEGO® House has had to extend its closing period until further notice. To continue to offer a little bit of the LEGO House atmosphere to all our fans, we have therefore decided to make the three existing LEGO House exclusive sets available via http://www.LEGO.com

The three products are:

LEGO House Set. 21037. (Launched September 2017)
Tree of Creativity. 4000026. (Launched March 2018)
LEGO House Dinosaurs. 40366 (Launched April 2019)

The items will be sold at the same, or locally equivalent, RRP that we sell the sets for in the LEGO House.

We are planning to have the sets available on http://www.LEGO.com from early May 2020. The LEGO House Tree of Creativity and LEGO House Dinosaurs are on limited distribution to UK, DK, and IE only and we expect to have a purchase limit for each customer. Please notice that this is a limited time offer until LEGO House re-opens and the sets are only available while supplies last. As the LEGO House Tree of Creativity is a discontinued set, we have made certain to hold back sets for the (hopefully physical) AFOL Day in LEGO House in September.

LEGO Architecture The White House (21054) Coming In Summer 2020

New reveals just keep coming in from the LEGO Booth at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany. A new LEGO Architecture set has been introduced and it is said to be the largest LEGO set offered under the said theme. The LEGO Architecture The White House (21054) has been revealed and, if the reported numbers are correct, comes in at an impressive 1,500+ piece count.

Same as with other new LEGO summer 2020 sets on display, photography or filming is not allowed so we have to refer to Zusammengebaut who has been on the floor of the International Toy Fair. Accordingly, the LEGO Architecture The White House (21054) is also the first-ever set to be tagged with an “18+” label. It may refer to the difficulty level of building this set which caters specifically to adult LEGO fans. Though the label mentions that the set contains 3,700 pieces, this was actually reported as an error in printing. Once complete, The White House (21054) will measure at an impressive 50 centimeters in length, which is already substantial for an elegant display set.

21006 1
The very first LEGO Architecture The White House (21006) was released in 2010, with its successor expected to be significantly larger and more detailed.

The arrival of this set is a long time coming. If you recall, the last time that LEGO released a similar set was way back in 2010 with the LEGO Architecture The White House (21006). It is a sort of microscaled model with only 500 and more pieces. But with the arrival of its successor, we can expect a more detailed and fine-tuned version of the US executive headquarters.

The newer LEGO Architecture The White House (21054) is expected to arrive in June 2020 and will have an expected retail price of €99.99. It joins other newer LEGO sets revealed at the Toy Fair, namely those from the LEGO City, Creator, and Friends themes.

First LEGO Architecture 2020 Sets Revealed

We now have our first images of the LEGO Architecture 2020 sets for the first half of the upcoming year. These sets take their cue from some of the famous landmarks in the world, and for the following year, LEGO is putting the spotlight on Tokyo and Dubai’s skylines.

Traditionally, LEGO releases around 4 or 5 LEGO Architecture sets within a year. For 2019, we saw the release of two Architecture sets that also carry the Skyline subtheme: the LEGO Architecture San Francisco (21043) and Paris (21044).  On the other hand, the rest of the sets released for this year focused more on the theme’s Landmark Series such as the Trafalgar Square (21045) and Empire State Building (21046).

These upcoming LEGO Architecture 2020 sets will join the rest of the new-for-2020 sets to be released beginning January 1, 2020. If you’re a fan of this particular LEGO theme, then be sure to keep tabs with LEGO Shop@Home or here at our blog site for more updates. A hat tip to Promobricks for the timely info.

A Look At The Set That Never Was (Supposedly) – The LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038)

If you recall back in 2017, the LEGO Architecture Skyline subtheme had a particular set that never made it to the mainstream public. Triggered by the unfortunate events of October, 2017’s Mandalay Bay Hotel shooting, the LEGO Group deemed wise to cancel the impending release of the LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038), and was eventually replaced by a redesigned set that noticeably deviated from the original plan of including the famous hotel along the Las Vegas strip. This is completely understandable and was a welcomed move from TLG that highlights the social and moral compass that guides the company.

LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038)

The unreleased 487-piece LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038) set suffered from an initial delayed release date which was soon followed by another until it was officially announced that it will be replaced with a redesigned model. It was quite a sad day for LEGO Architecture fans, but it was a necessary step if LEGO will stay true to its core values of not depicting real-life violence in its toys.

So for almost 2 years, we thought that this set does not eventually exist. Not until a surprising report from Tom Alphin aka the Brick Architect, revealed that some LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038) sets found their way in a retail store in Johannesburg, South Africa. It does not come as a surprise if LEGO has this set planned ahead long before the unfortunate shooting took place. So these sets either missed LEGO’s recall train or has found their way into the market from some LEGO warehouse from who knows where.

According to Tom, this set is not actually his but was provided to him to be reviewed. In fact, Tom did a superb review that I highly recommend that you go through as well. Apart from the lamentable circumstances in which this set has been connected to, it is commendable how this set introduces several new pieces that are believed to be only found in this set such as the Technic 3-Blade Rotor (32125) and the 1x2x1⅔ Brick w/ 2 studs 1-side (32952), both in Pearl Gold colors that replicate the Mandalay Bay Hotel’s signature architecture. Needless to say, the build also introduces an interesting building technique that captures the hotel’s unique design.

These Pearl Gold pieces are only found in the unreleased LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038).

No one knows exactly how many of these unreleased LEGO sets are out there – even a search over at eBay does not even yield any positive result. We may never see the LEGO Architecture Las Vegas (21038) grace our Skylines collection, but I am thankful that someone was kind enough to go out of his way to give us a closer look at this set that never was. Thanks also to Huw from Brickset for additional info.

Expand Your LEGO Architecture Great Wall of China (21041) With This Great Price Cut From Amazon

Thinking of how to make your LEGO Architecture Great Wall of China (21041) look even better? Then why not adding another section to this iconic World Heritage Site rendered in LEGO bricks, especially that Amazon is currently offering this set at 20% off from its original price.

21041 alt2

Since its reveal last April, we saw that the LEGO Architecture Great Wall of China (21041) followed a certain organic design which is somewhat different from other Architecture sets that are based on modern man-made structures. This gives the Great Wall a more natural aesthetic and the opportunity to allow multiple copies of the same set to be snapped together, creating a more realistic, brick-built rendition.

21041 alt4

Coming in at 551 pieces and retailing for $49.99, the cost of getting another set is quite steep, to be honest. However, it may not be much of a problem now that Amazon is running a promo that offers the LEGO Architecture Great Wall of China (21041) at 20% off, reducing its price to $39.99 per set. So if you’re looking forward to build that Great Wall project using LEGO bricks, then you may want to click on the link below and check out the rest of this Amazon promo. Happy building!

New 2019 LEGO Architecture Sets Listed in Austrian Online Retailer

As we approach the final leg of 2018, it looks like LEGO and its retailers are giving us a sneak peek on how the brick landscape will look like in 2019. In this case, the latest reveals are now coming from the 2019 LEGO Architecture line where we are given a glimpse of the initial sets to be offered next year, particularly from the Skylines subtheme.

If you recall, one of the most recent LEGO Architecture Skyline set release this year is the necessarily delayed Las Vegas (21047). The delays due to the necessary redesigns for the LEGO Architecture Las Vegas are understandable, and hopefully, LEGO is now back in track with its release schedules as we can now see from an early listing from an online Austrian retailer.

Austrian online marketplace Alternate.at has put listings on upcoming LEGO Architecture sets for tagged as LEGO Architecture San Francisco (21043) and Paris (21044). No images were provided but they did indicate the number of pieces, product description and the set price of €49.99 for both of them. Here’s a brief description of these sets as published by Alternate and posted here via Google Translate.

Nuremberg Toy Fair 2017 Is Now In Full Swing!

Toy Fair season is definitely upon us, with the London Toy Fair just being recently concluded, we now move on to the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2017 – the next leg of international toy fairs that give us a glimpse of things to come especially in the world of LEGO bricks.

The Nuremberg Toy Fair 2017 in Germany, dubbed as the largest toy fair in the world, has now opened its doors to all retailers and guests, and covering the action right there at the LEGO booth are the ever-reliable teams of Promobricks and Zusammengebaut. Credit goes to their kind efforts in sharing these images with the world.

Suffice it to say, LEGO did a good job of having its active themes covered on the opening day of the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2017, so let’s take a while to break down what was revealed so far during the past hours. We’ll try to comment on these images as the opportunity arises, but in the meantime, feel free to share your thoughts on these sets. A huge thanks to Promobricks for sharing these images!

LEGO Technic

nuremberg toy fair 2017

This may come as a surprise for LEGO Technic fans. LEGO has revealed at the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2017 a building guide that allows you to combine this year’s Technic sets particularly, 42057, 42061, and 42063, to come up with the iconic Technic chassis from 1977.

We know that LEGO has a sweet spot for the Technic theme since it is one of the longest lines of sets that it has ever came up with. If the inclusion of the 40th commemorative beam in its 2017 sets is already a very much welcomed token, then the presence of the commemorative building guide as revealed at the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2017 (which will be made available for free during the second half of the year according to Zusammengebaut) is a great bonus.

LEGO Marvel and DC Comics Super Heroes

Though LEGO has not revealed any images yet, it’s great to know that The LEGO Group has finally confirmed its latest line of superhero sets dedicated to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and DC Comics Super Heroes. The box art that was on display at the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2017 confirms that we’ll be seeing several sets all dedicated to the much-awaited films such as Spider-Man: Homecoming (sets 76082 & 76083), Thor: Ragnarok (sets 76084 & 76088), and DC’s Justice League (sets 76085, 76086, and 76087).

Also on display were the recently revealed LEGO Marvel Superheroes:

LEGO Speed Champions

The 2017 LEGO Speed Champions collection was also on display, less the McLaren Road Car (75880) that is yet to be revealed.

LEGO Juniors Cars 3

nuremberg toy fair 2017

There seems to be another previously reported ‘fake’ news that turned out to be true after all. Hot off the trail that the rumored LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean – Dead Men Tell No Tales (71042) was eventually legit, the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2017 has revealed that LEGO indeed has its sights in coming up with a line of sets dedicated to the third comeback of Lightning McQueen in Disney Pixar’s Cars 3. These watermarked box arts were put on display bearing set numbers 10730, 10731, 10732, 10733, 10742, 10743, 10744, & 10745.

LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 17 and LEGO Ninjago Movie

We know that Series 17 of LEGO’s CMF is just around the corner. In fact, leaked images of some of its minifigs are already out there in the wild. However, LEGO has been particularly tight-lipped with its next line of cinematic CMFs, particularly on its next theatrical offering, The LEGO Ninjago Movie.

Though the box on display at the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2017 was sort of the generic type, the number of minifigs (20 in this series) gives us a hint that LEGO intends to repeat its minifig offerings, the same as that from the LEGO Batman Movie. The picture also below somehow gives us an idea of how our teen ninjas will look in their first-ever cinematic debut.

Other LEGO Highlights at the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2017

Some of LEGO’s highlights at the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2017 also include a demonstration of its upcoming LEGO Boost Creative Toolbox (17101) and the official launch of the social media platform for LEGO fans, the LEGO Life app.

Noticeably missing in action during day 1 of the Nuremberg Toy Fair are the recent LEGO Batman Movie summer sets, those from the LEGO Ninjago Movie, and from the LEGO Star Wars theme.

So what do you think brick fans? What other sets will LEGO reveal in the next few days? Drop us a note in the comments below or head over at our Facebook page and join in the conversation.
