Early this month, we covered the reveal of the first LEGO polybags noted to be coming next year. Already we at The Brick Show felt that this batch of 2022 polys would only be the tip of the iceberg. Indeed they were, even if that was barely a surprise. Small and simple as they are, multiple unique LEGO polybags can be churned out in a year. Promobricks.de gives us word of these new reveals, courtesy of brickdex.io, a new price comparison platform. We’ve got multiple polybags under major LEGO themes unlike last time. There’s still no word however on which polybags will sell in-store and which are promo items only.
As you may have noticed, LEGO is now announcing sets coming this 2022, left and right. The reveals range across all popular themes and licensed IPs, as well as size. From sprawling city skylines to towering sci-fantasy rockets to adorable BrickHeadz, the January 1 launch window’s pretty packed. That goes also for the extremely small end of the LEGO set spectrum. Beyond a new LEGO Star Wars Microfighter we’ll also be seeing a selection of polybags. Granted, this particular LEGO reveal is sparsely detailed in comparison. We have no idea if the polybags are purchasable as is or GWPs instead, and when they’ll even appear.
While the following next-year LEGO polybags haven’t even got a LEGO.com listing, we at least know how they look now. Particularly noteworthy is the Technic polybag. Early in November the UK-published “LEGO Giant Series” Technic Mag featured a polybag in the cover. Their product numbers are even close enough by a few tens. Apparently they’d be the first Technic polybags to come out since the last ones in 2000. Sounds like it’s certainly worth collecting, along with the rest, as covered by The Brick Fan:
It’s September, and that means the year 2021 is on its final quarter stretch. For LEGO this means a big wave of product releases serving as a teaser for the coming holidays. Multiple new LEGO sets take center stage in this release bonanza. Licensed LEGO themes such as Marvel, Star Wars, Jurassic World, and Harry Potter all have new sets to offer this month. Let’s take a look at these new arrivals, all currently listed over at LEGO Shop@Home. To add them to your LEGO carts, you may click on their respective affiliate links below.
Last week, we reported on a subtle addition to the functionality of the LEGO Shop@Home webpage interface. A color selection option was implemented on two of its products: the LEGO Creator sets Expert Fiat 500 (10271) and 3-in-1 Mighty Dinosaurs (31058). This hinted that these two sets, and perhaps many others, could have set variants produced.
At the time of that report, the color options for the above-mentioned LEGO Creator sets were only their originals. Nearly a week later, LEGO itself has made an official announcement of this feature. Along with that comes the reveal of the first alternative colors.
The LEGO Group finally shed light on the variant color option for selected sets on its home shopping portal, describing it as a limited-time pilot project. Here’s their official statement:
The LEGO Group is running a pilot with a small number of products to gain a deeper understanding of what our fans want from our portfolio and where they prefer to shop for new or unique products.
The pilot includes variations of some of our existing products, so we can find out more about the colors and sizes of sets that fans of all ages want to see more of in our portfolio.
It certainly sounds like good news, and if you’re wondering about the catch then here it is. Most of these set color variants will be available only in the UK and Ireland. This is via their regional LEGO Shop@Home, physical stores, and third-party retailers. The variations on selected LEGO sets will only be available in these areas until November 30, or while supplies last. The LEGO Creator Expert Fiat 500 recolor is the sole exception. LEGO Shop@Home UK can ship this one internationally.
So far, LEGO has marked four sets for variants. The first two are, as already stated, the aforementioned LEGO Creator sets. LEGO Creator Expert Fiat 500 (10271) has an additional blue color scheme renumbered as set 77942 in addition to its original yellow.
Here’s hoping the pilot test for this thing in the UK takes off. Maybe then LEGO will make these set variants available internationally, and with more to follow.
In case you haven’t noticed yet, LEGO Shop@Home has been recently updated to now include a new functionality on certain of its product pages, particularly applied to some LEGO Creator sets as of this posting.
As pointed out by Stone Wars, the product pages for LEGO Creator Expert Fiat 500 (10271) and LEGO Creator 3-in-1 Mighty Dinosaurs (31058) have been updated to include what looks like to be a color selection function. For now, it seems that LEGO has not yet fine-tuned this page function since we only have a static selection bubble that shows the original color of the set. One can say that this might be experimental as of the moment, and a sort of foreshadowing of what LEGO has to offer for the coming weeks. If I’m not mistaken, this is the very first time that I’ve seen LEGO pulled out an offer like this, providing multiple color variations for a set. The prospect is exciting actually and I would like to see certain LEGO sets offered in other color schemes as well.
LEGO has added what looks like to be color selection options on these LEGO Creator product pages over at LEGO Shop@Home.
Word on brick street is that this recent development may actually become a possibility, with LEGO studying the feasibility and appeal of having several color options of its sets. The capability of choosing a differently-colored set is obviously not practical for all of LEGO’s set offerings, and seeing that they opted for LEGO Creator sets to jumpstart this feature is a good place to start. There were some speculations also that these color options might extend to upcoming LEGO City sets as well, including the still-to-be-released LEGO City Fire Station Starter Set (77943) and Fire Station Headquarters (77944).
Whatever is the case, it is quite certain that LEGO is now prepping up its online shopping portal and is now paving a way for a new and unique customer experience with this color selection capabilities. I guess we can see more developments in the coming weeks, or once September sets in. I’ll keep you posted on this. In the meantime, be sure to check out some of the newer LEGO Creator Expert sets such as the now-available Volkswagen T2 Camper Van (10279) and the upcoming Pickup Truck (10290). Who knows, we might get recolored versions of these sets as well. We just have to wait and see.

If you recall earlier in June, LEGO has given us a glimpse of its new LEGO City subtheme via its Japanese LEGO online catalog. Dubbed as LEGO City Stuntz, this new collection of high-flying, action-packed daredevil acrobats features a collection of flywheel-powered bikes, awesome vehicles, and daunting obstacle courses.
And in case you missed it, this initial wave of LEGO City Stuntz sets includes 10 introductory sets including several monster trucks, and a good number of high-flying motorbikes. This new LEGO City subtheme is slated to arrive on October 1st, just in time for the holiday season.

Following the reveal of this year’s new advent calendars coming from the LEGO Marvel and LEGO Friends themes, the now available Japanese online LEGO Catalog also gives us our first look at the LEGO City Advent Calendar (60303).
A usual staple of LEGO Advent Calendars, this year’s LEGO City offering includes the familiar minifigure characters from LEGO City Adventures such as Big Betty, Shirley Keeper, Officer Sam Grizzled, Fire Fighter Bob, Top Hat Tom, and Fendrich. It also comes with mini builds that add some fun holiday activities – it has a mini copter, monster truck, train, snow-covered tree, lamp post, and many more.
This year’s LEGO City Advent Calendar (60303) is expected to arrive on September 1st and will retail for around $30 similar to last year’s offering. I will update this post once it makes its appearance over at LEGO Shop@Home.
LEGO is all set to launch its first-ever online fan convention dubbed as LEGO CON. And after an initial teaser last week, LEGO is slowly building the hype by giving us a glimpse of the many things to expect once the virtual convention commences on June 26.
LEGO’s tweet hints at the various set announcements that are about to happen on LEGO CON. The most noticeable of this is understandably coming from the LEGO Star Wars front. I feel that it may lean towards the reveal of the LEGO Star Wars UCS Republic Gunship, which was ultimately selected by most fans during the LEGO Ideas Fan Vote back from February last year. There will also be a detailed presentation on the latest LEGO Super Mario sets for the 2nd half of the year, including the new Adventures With Luigi Starter Course (71387) and a host of others. I’m not really sure what LEGO has in mind with its LEGO Technic and Harry Potter presentations, but my best guess is that it might include possible building activities (competition perhaps) involving some of the new sets under these themes. Newer LEGO City sets will also be placed under the spotlight, especially since LEGO has invited an astronaut to grace the occasion. And those fans who will be watching online will also have the chance to participate in a live Q&A with designers of the LEGO Minecraft theme, and with Mojang’s Chief Brand Officer, Ms. Lydia Winters.
We can also be sure that LEGO has plenty of surprises in store during that 90-minute presentation. This includes the promise of more exclusive set reveals and other amazing guests. I’m still dwelling on the thought that the LEGO CON’s 2×2 brick logo may still have a connection to any sets, or activities that will be featured during the free, live online event. So be sure to mark June 26 on your calendars, and check your corresponding local time. For more updates, visit and bookmark the LEGO CON website.
We now have confirmation that the next LEGO City subtheme will be a high-flying rush of a series. Thanks to a now-removed online Japanese LEGO catalog, LEGO has shown us what great lengths minifigures will go through to get that adrenalin fix. The LEGO City Stuntz subtheme is expected to arrive in October, with 10 new sets showcasing their daredevil skills.
From the get-go, the LEGO City Stuntz includes a collection of sets that features what we typically see in a stunt show. It also includes a generous amount of motorbikes and vehicles that incorporate a pull-back action mechanism and unique LEGO Stuntz flywheels. Take a closer look at what each set has to offer by checking out the images below.
The LEGO City Stuntz is expected to make an official appearance via LEGO Shop@Home, perhaps sometime in July or August. I’ll update this post once more information comes in. In the meantime, be sure to check the LEGO City Wildlife Rescue subtheme that is also slated to arrive this summer.
