And the 150th LEGO BrickHeadz Set Will Be…

Last month, the LEGO Ideas platform has launched another fan activity that celebrates the upcoming release of the 150th LEGO BrickHeadz set. Fans of the brick-built collectible theme were given a chance to vote for the next BrickHeadz, coming from four pre-determined candidate themes.

As of this writing, there are currently more than 100 BrickHeadz that were already released, and it will definitely take some time before we see the likes of the 150th LEGO BrickHeadz set. And to make the voting process even more fun, the LEGO Ideas Team has rolled out four likely candidates that will be given the honor to mark such an occasion: Lilo & Stitch, Minecraft, Jaws, and Star Wars.

150th lego brickheadz set

I have to say that I was excited about the idea of finally seeing an official, brick-built Stitch set (which somehow almost made it to the cut with Tyler’s LEGO Stitch product idea). But this being a majority vote among 13,000 LEGO fans who participated, the honor of being the 150th LEGO BrickHeadz set is now reserved for yet another LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz set. That’s how democracy works I presume, even if you don’t particularly like the outcome.

lego brickheadz star wars
The 150th LEGO BrickHeadz set will feature a Star Wars character.

Currently, the Stars Wars subtheme of the LEGO BrickHeadz series is by far the most represented theme in the said genre – with 16 LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz sets under its belt. I guess that’s a testament to how popular this LEGO subtheme is among the majority of the brick-loving masses.

It is also interesting to note that LEGO may also be continuing its trend of offering official brick renditions of some of the most popular pop-icons of our generation, similar to the likes of LEGO BrickHeadz pairs such as that of Marty MacFly and Doc Brown (41611), and Peter Venkman and Slimer (41622).  And bringing the possibility of having a LEGO Jaws set on the table is quite revealing on the part of LEGO. Does it mean that LEGO has something in the works coming from this direction? We just have to wait and see.

In the meantime, we might need to wait a little longer before we can see the 150th LEGO BrickHeadz set under the Star Wars theme. And with so many present and future Star Wars candidates to choose from, it will be quite a challenge for LEGO to zero-in on the best SW character to fill in the commemorative spot.

So who do you think from the galaxy far, far away will be honored as the 150th LEGO BrickHeadz set? Which Star Wars characters do you think will eventually win this title? Or are you even happy with the results? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Here Are The LEGO 2021 Polybags To Watch Out For

Our brick-minded friends from Promobricks managed to round up several, crisp images of what I am personally looking forward to as a LEGO collector. And thankfully, we now have an idea of what we can expect for next year’s collection of LEGO 2021 polybags.

From the looks of it, it seems that each particular LEGO theme will once offer a new polybag – from home-grown themes to licensed ones, each of these LEGO 2021 polybags offers a mini-scale version of a particular set in its upcoming subtheme (like in the case of the new LEGO Ninjago and DOTS series) or expands your collection of useful LEGO pieces. Such is the case for the LEGO City Pop-Up Store (30569), considering the printed tile pieces that go with it.

They’re not usually listed over at LEGO Shop@Home, though you can find them in your local LEGO brand store and other third-party retailers as well.  Expect these polys to be around starting January and throughout the first quarter of 2021, retailing for $4.99. Which one of these will you pick up? Let us know in the comments below.

Be Sure To Catch These LEGO Promotional Items This December

The holiday season is now in full swing and while perhaps most of us are waiting for the arrival of some of 2021’s most anticipated sets like the upcoming LEGO Creator Expert Police Station modular set, you might want to draft your end-of-the-year LEGO shopping list and bag these neat LEGO promotional items this December.

LEGO Shop@Home in the US has just updated its offers and promotions page to now include not one, but three LEGO promotional items that will be added to your cart for free with LEGO qualifying purchases that you’ll make this month.

LEGO Seasonal Ice Skating Rink (40416)

304 pieces | Available from December 1 to 12, 2020 or while supplies last

LEGO Promotional Items LEGO Promotional Items LEGO Promotional Items

This year’s holiday seasonal freebie now comes in the form of a playable skating rink. As a fan of minifig vignettes, I love the way how designers cleverly used the splat-gear pieces to make the minifigure skaters circle the ice skating rink. The choice of color is also perfect in my opinion as it captures the holiday fun of playing outdoors. Coming in at 304 pieces, this freebie also comes with 2 minifigures, some pine trees, a small stall, and a mini fountain of sorts at the center of the build. This promotional item will be added to your cart for a single-receipt purchase of any LEGO product(s) worth $150 and above. This promo will end by next week December 12, so be sure to plan your next LEGO purchase before then if you wish to bag this one.

LEGO Disney Frozen 2 Olaf’s Traveling Sleigh (40361)

97 pieces | Available from December 1 to 31, 2020 or while supplies last

40361 1 40361 alt1 40361 alt4

This next freebie is not entirely new since it was already offered before in 2019 as one of the LEGO promotional items to promote the launch of  LEGO Disney Frozen 2 sets. However, if you missed out on Olaf’s Traveling Sleigh (40361) during that time, then here’s your chance to get it for free. For every single-receipt purchase of any of the following LEGO Disney Frozen 2 sets – 41164, 41165, 41166, 41167, 41168, 41169, and 43172 – worth $50 and above, you’ll have Disney’s most adorable snowman added to your cart for free. The set comes in at 97 pieces, and a great way to get Olaf’s minifigure for free.

LEGO Star Wars BB-8 (40288) polybag

48 pieces | Available from December 1 to 31, 2020 or while supplies last

40288 alt1

Here’s another opportunity to bag a missed promotional, in case you missed this one back in 2018. The LEGO Star Wars BB-8 (40288) polybag was also one of the LEGO promotional items that were launched as a way of celebrating 2018’s LEGO May the 4th celebrations. This mini-build of BB-8 has proven to be quite popular that LEGO opted to do a re-run of this promo in October of the same year. And if for some reason you still missed out on this polybag freebie, then here’s your chance to bag this one. Coming in at 48 pieces, the LEGO Star Wars BB-8 will be available throughout December or while supplies last. It will be yours free for every single-receipt qualifying purchases of any LEGO Star Wars products worth $40 and above.

Needless to say, these freebies are nice little gifts that LEGO has in store for us this month. Just be sure to check with LEGO Shop@Home or with the LEGO brand store nearest you. Happy holidays and keep on building!

New LEGO Star Wars Trouble on Tatooine (75299) Announced for 2021

It looks like the hit Disney+ series will get another LEGO Star Wars set dedicated to its name. Following the latest episode of This Week in Star Wars over on YouTube, it was revealed that Mando has earned another LEGO set that captures his journey together with the mysterious Child. Check out the details of the LEGO Star Wars Trouble on Tatooine (75299) set as seen in this video.

75299 01

This latest Mandalorian-inspired LSW set is the 5th under the belt of this fearless minifigure warrior. Coming in at 276 pieces, the LEGO Star Wars Trouble in Tatooine includes minifigure versions of the Mandalorian himself in his shiny, new Beskar armor, a The Child, and a Tusken Raider. The set also features a small desert encampment, a Speeder Bike, and a Tusken plane equipped with a spring-loaded harpoon. It is expected to retail for $29.99 when it arrives in January 2021.

LEGO Star Wars Trouble on Tatooine

For the price of 30 bucks, I have to say that this set is a nice deal in itself. Compared to the pricier LEGO Star Wars The Razor Crest (75292) and LEGO Star Wars The Child (75318), the Trouble in Tatooine (75299) set is a great way to get The Child minifigure without breaking the bank.

75299 02

As of this posting, LEGO Shop@Home has not yet listed this latest LEGO Star Wars set, but as per the video announcement, we can expect more updates on Monday next week so hopefully, we can get to see further details about this set by then, along side other LEGO Star Wars 2021 sets that we believe are slated to be officially revealed anytime soon.

LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate (77904) Coming Soon to Amazon

After making its appearance via the LEGO Customer Service portal, it seems that the elusive LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate (77904) will now be coming soon to Amazon as well. And though there was no mention of any particular release date whatsoever, the arrival of this set is now confirmed by Amazon considering how it is clearly advertised in the LEGO Star Wars section of Amazon’s LEGO Shop landing page.

LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B

The LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate (77904) is expected to be in high demand among LEGO fans considering that it was originally intended to be released as an SDCC 2020 exclusive. Coming in at 459 pieces, this brick version of the iconic rebel cruiser also bears the 40th-anniversary emblem of the Empire Strikes Back, celebrating the film’s first screening way back in 1980.

77904 boxart

As I’ve mentioned in my previous report, we still have no official word from LEGO on when the Nebulon-B Frigate will arrive in LEGO brand stores, but a cursory search over at eBay will tell us that some folks already have this in hand, with some posted images even suggesting that these sets may have been sourced from LEGO stores as well. It doesn’t come as a surprise though, since it is understandable that these stores may already have kept a very limited stock of these sets ahead of their soon-to-be-announced release date.

If you wish to give it a try in creating your own collectible  LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate (77904), then you may want to take a look at its building instructions and see if you can create your own using the LEGO pieces that you have. There seems to be no particular part or piece that is exclusive to this set so you might want to take a look at your own LEGO collection and see if you have the required pieces. These pieces are also made up of mostly dark and medium stone gray colors, so it something that is also pretty common in most LEGO sets.

Again, considering that this set was meant to be a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, better expect that this set will disappear quite quickly from store shelves and online. I’ll update this post once the Nebulon-B Frigate (77904) Amazon listing goes live, or you may also want to keep tabs with LEGO Shop@Home for more updates.

Thanks to Brickset for the heads up.

Upcoming LEGO Sets

LEGO Super Mario
71361 11
And of course, LEGO obviously has more plans for its latest collaboration with Nintendo. In 2021, we can expect another series of Character Pack similar to its LEGO Super Mario Character Pack Series 1 (71361)

71380 Starter Course Set 2 (366 pieces, €59.99)
71381 Expansion Set (160 pieces, €19.99)

The names of these upcoming LEGO sets under the Super Mario theme are understandably kept under wraps, but from the looks of it, we can expect a new Starter Course set, 3 Expansion Sets, 2 additional Super Mario costumes, or Power-Ups, and another series of Character Packs. The Starter Course Set 2 is quite interesting and we’ll have to see how this will turn out.

LEGO Harry Potter

Rumor has it that the LEGO Harry Potter theme will receive its Disney-like series of Storybook Adventures, but in this case, based on the various classrooms of the iconic Hogwarts Castle. Each LEGO Harry Potter Storybook playset is expected to retail for €29.99, with a release date of January 2021.

LEGO Star Wars
75193 1
Yeah, I know it may sound redundant already but hey, the Millennium Falcon still holds a special place in LEGO Star Wars fandom. As proof of that, we can expect another LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon Microfighter similar to what we have in set 75193 to be part of a repertoire of upcoming LEGO sets.

75295 Millennium Falcon Microfighter (101 pieces, €9.99)
75299 The Mandalorian Set (276 pieces, €29.99)

75306 18+ Helmet Series: Imperial Probe Droid (683 pieces, €69.99)
75307 18+ Helmet Series: ??? (??? pieces, €69.99)

This is an exhaustive list though since we can still expect plenty of new information to come in as we approach the last quarter of this year. However, since LEGO is quite mum about these things, for now, I highly suggest that we consider all of these things for the rumors that they really are for the time being. Unless we hear LEGO’s official press release and product reveal regarding its upcoming LEGO sets, then let’s take this piece of news with a healthy amount of salt.

ICYMI: The LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate (77904) Has Been Revealed

There has been a handful of LEGO reveals earlier this week, and one of which is something that has been kept under wraps probably because it was intended to be an event-exclusive set. The LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate (77904) has been revealed to the public courtesy of LEGO’s Customer Service Portal.

To be more exact, the building instructions for the LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate were uploaded via the said customer service portal showing us what to expect from the key features of this set.  Coming in at 459 pieces, this set was intended to be a San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2020 exclusive. But due to the program cancellations brought about by this pandemic, LEGO will most likely offer this set over its online shopping portal, and most likely within a limited time only. The box art itself sports the SDCC 2020 logo, including the 40th-anniversary emblem of the Empire Strikes Back film as you can see below. Image courtesy of The Brick Fan.

77904 boxart

The LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate set is somewhat a long time coming. Many LEGO SW fans were already raring to see this set in actual brick form and were finally shown a ray of light during the LEGO Ideas Fan Vote earlier this year. However, it turned out that the impressive Rebel-reformed Imperial Starship was outnumbered in votes, with the majority of fans voting for a brick version of the Republic Gunship as the next LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series set. This first and only official version of the Nebulon-B Frigate may not be on a similar scale to that of the standard LEGO Star Wars UCS set, nor that of the Master Builder Series, but it is still nice to have on display given its elegant and sleek design, mounted on its own commemorative stand.

LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate

Given that we already have its corresponding parts inventory, I guess its just a matter of time before we can build one of our own. There seems to be no particular part that is exclusive to this set so you might want to take a look at your own LEGO collection and try to build one of your own. The pieces are also made up of mostly dark and medium stone gray colors, so it something that is also pretty common in most LEGO sets. Check out the inventory below and see if you have the needed parts to build the LEGO Star Wars Nebulon-B Frigate.

There is no word yet on when this set will be listed over at LEGO Shop@Home and for how much. I will update this article once the set goes live, so be sure to check back with us anytime soon.

New LEGO Star Wars Luke Skywalker with Blue Milk (30625) Polybag Revealed

While we are still waiting for the arrival of the biggest LEGO Star Wars video game as of to date, Warner Bros and TT Games are throwing in a LEGO freebie to sweeten the deal. Those who will be purchasing the Deluxe Edition of the LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga video game will be treated with a new and exclusive minifigure – the LEGO Star Wars Luke Skywalker with Blue Milk (30625) polybag.

30625

The polybag itself features a new minifigure version of Luke Skywalker, albeit based on a younger version of himself with his fave blue milk drink of all time. Thanks to Dutch video game retailer Game Resource, we can have a closer look at what this latest exclusive polybag has to offer. For what it seems, purchasing the Deluxe Edition of the said game will include the base game, a Character Collection Pack that includes six (6) exclusive playable characters, and the LEGO Star Wars Luke Skywalker with Blue Milk minifigure. It is most likely that the polybag itself will also feature a unique unlock code that will let you have this blue milk-drinking version of master Luke exploring the open brick worlds of the game.

30625 1

If you noticed, this minifig version of Luke Skywalker is not entirely new. Its first appearance was back in 2016 together with the release of the LEGO Star Wars Death Star (75159), and once again this year particularly in three new sets: Obi-Wan’s Hut (75270), this year’s LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar (75279) and the most recent set in the Master Builder Series, the Mos Eisley Cantina (75290). However, what sets apart this exclusive minifigure is, of course, the unique blue milk mustache print and the milk carton box with a Bantha silhouette. The milk carton box is further accentuated with the inclusion of a white cheese slope piece.

The LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga Deluxe Edition is also currently available for pre-order via Amazon. This latest LEGO video game offering is slated to be finally released on December 31st, after some apparent slip-up regarding initial announcements of its release date. This galaxy-spanning culmination will also available across multiple gaming platforms including the latest ones such as the upcoming Playstation 5 and X Box Series X.

LEGO Star Wars The Child (75318) Officially Revealed!

After being spotted in a store shelf in Luxemburg earlier this month, the LEGO Group has finally made it official and has now listed the LEGO Star Wars The Child (75318) for pre-order over at LEGO Shop@Home.

LEGO Star Wars The Child

Just in time before the Disney+ hit series The Mandalorian streams again for its 2nd season, the LEGO Star Wars The Child (75318) will also be available starting October 30 with LEGO’s online shopping portal now taking pre-orders. The set features a buildable and articulated brick version of Baby Yoda and is expected to retail for $80 coming in at 1,073 pieces. And as a sort of a cherry on top to sweeten the deal, this set also comes with a minifigure version of The Child previously found only in the Razor Crest (75292) set.

Today, the LEGO Group reveals its latest construction set featuring the beloved character from the Lucasfilm series Star Wars: The Mandalorian™. The LEGO® Star Wars™ The Child construction set is inspired by the small-in-size but powerful-in-charisma character, the Child (or Baby Yoda as fans have affectionately dubbed the character), from the series. The building set will be available globally from October 30th, with pre-orders starting today as part of the Mando Mondays program announcement from Disney and Lucasfilm.

Measuring just under 20cm (7.8 inches) in height, builders can experience the fun of building a set inspired by one of their favorite The Mandalorian™ stars in 1,073 pieces. Designed for fans aged 10 and over, builders can make the model their own. With a posable head, movable ears, and an adjustable mouth, fans can choose from a range of the Child’s famous expressions when putting their finished model on display.

“When I received the challenge to create a LEGO brick-built version of the Child, I knew that I had to get it just right,” says Michael Lee Stockwell, Design Manager, LEGO® Star Wars™. “The goal was to capture the charm, and above all, the cuteness of the character, so we worked meticulously, choosing and placing every brick. We even included authentic details like the gearstick knob – a favorite toy of the Child as seen in the series.”

The construction set comes with an information plaque, which includes the Child’s height and age, and a LEGO® Star Wars™ Minifigure of the Child to complete a charming display.

75318 LEGO® Star Wars™ The Child construction set will be available for pre-order from 21st September and then globally from 30th October, directly via LEGO.com, LEGO Stores, and other retailers.
