Check Out the Winners of the LEGO Ideas Junkertown Inspired Building Contest

Back in July, LEGO Ideas launched another building contest that asked fans to come up with their best brick rendition of the harsh Australian Outback in true, Junkertown-style. Inspired by the LEGO Overwatch sets, the LEGO Ideas Show Us Your Junker-Inspired Interpretation of an Overwatch Hero challenges builders to recreate their favorite Overwatch character if they’re a resident of Junkertown. The winners are in and let’s take a look at these outstanding winning entries.

Junker Orisa

LEGO Ideas Junkertown

This is my interpretation of a Junker-fied Orisa.
in all the chaos in Junkertown, a lot of her armor got damaged, and therefore overlapped and welded with old rusty pieces of metal lying around in Junkertowns surroundings. Though a lot of her changed, she still managed to keep some of her somewhat friendly personality.
I decided not to make huge changes to her, so the original design would be easy to recognize.
The model consists of 674 parts, its made in LDD and rendered with Stud.io ~ AlexWeigelt
Junkertown Hanzo

Hanzo equipped for surviving in the harsh environment of the Outback.
This was a really fun build, both to recreate the character recognizably and also to add the Junkertown twist. I hope you enjoy! (The cloth elements are all LEGO: parts 32652, 32653, 36964, 35863, and bb685pb01.) ~ BallomNomNom
JunkerTown Winston

Even in the thick of the Australian outback, a scientist like Winston can figure out how to make the most of the surrounding junk. Armed with an electromagnetic frag launcher, a jet engine booster pack, a new cyborg arm, and of course, Winston never goes anywhere without his bull hide Spiffy hat! ~ Legofin.

Junkertown Winston

This version of Winston ended up in Junkertown after he escaped from the Moon. He used his scientific and engineering skills to build armor and a jump pack of the remains of his crashed emergency pod and equipped himself with a demolition saw that he found in an abandoned junkyard. After some modifications of his own, he is now equipped and ready to take on the other inhabitants of Junkertown! ~ oOger

Junkhardt

When Reinhardt was stranded in the Australian Outback without his powered armour, he had to adapt in order to survive. Crafting a new battle suit from old vehicle and spaceship parts, he is now ready to take on Junkertown in style… ~ MarkNewnham1

Each of the winners received the entire collection of 2019 LEGO Overwatch sets, plus an exclusive LEGO Overwatch box with special golden guns elements not found in any other LEGO sets. To top it off, winners also received some limited-edition Overwatch merchandise. For more details about the currently available LEGO Overwatch sets, be sure to visit LEGO Shop@Home. Legend of Zelda: BotW Stables Qualifies for the Third 2019 LEGO Ideas Review Stage

It has been long dreamt for by long-time LEGO and Nintendo fans that a sort of crossover happens between these two pop icons – and these next LEGO Ideas product idea may hopefully pave the way for that. The Legend of Zelda: BotW Stables by Hanwasyellowfirst is our next LEGO Ideas project that managed to earn those needed 10K fan votes to enable it to qualify for the Third 2019 LEGO Ideas Review Stage. This LEGO product idea takes its inspiration from the famed stables of the hit video game Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild that was released back in March of 2017 together with the world debut of the highly popular Nintendo Switch.

Legend of Zelda: BotW Stables

The LEGO Ideas Legend of Zelda: BotW Stables faithfully recreates the stables that are commonly found throughout the land of Hyrule. It also features several roof sections that can be opened to reveal the inner workings of the build. Other features include a fire pit and several benches, crates, ingredients, and of course horses. Proposed minifigures for this product idea includes the characters of Link, Kaas, Beedle, Pikango, Stable Master, Traveller, and a Mystery Minifig.

The LEGO Ideas Legend of Zelda: BotW Stables

Here is my first submission for LEGO ideas. The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of The Wild Stable.

I chose the Stable as it captures well the spirit of this great Zelda game. Stables can be found throughout the vast landscape of Hyrule and I think it looks great as a LEGO set too, plus… horses!

Disclaimer: Unfortunately I have zero graphic design expertise. So when it comes to the minifigures you will have to use your imagination, I have tried to get something as close to representative as possible from what was on offer.

This, therefore, is also the case for any printed elements or stickers you imagine would be involved,

some classic Hylian script and some tasty recipes on the inside wall!

The Build:

The roof sections are hinged to allow the stable and horse pen to open up. Inside are 4 beds, a table and chairs, a recipe and the reception desk (for the trusty Stable Master to turn trusty Inn-keep).

Grab some apples or monster parts and cook up something tasty! Missing an ingredient? Why don’t you check the crates, or ask Beedle! I’m sure I saw a Lizalfos horn somewhere about…

Feed the stable dog a nice piece of prime meat, maybe he will reward you!

You may even be able to see signs of a sneaky Korok nearby…

Contents:

  • Stable
  • Fire Pit & Benches
  • Crates and Ingredients (various)
  • Weapons (various)
  • Horses x3

Minifigures:

  • Link
  • Kaas
  • Beedle
  • Pikango
  • Stable Master
  • Traveler

This is the second LEGO Ideas submission that is credited to builder Hanwasyellowfirst that managed to gain 10,000 LEGO fan votes. If you recall, the LEGO Ideas The Seven Dwarfs’ House product idea is currently in review as a qualifier in the on-going Second  2019 Review Stage. The LEGO Ideas Legend of Zelda: BotW Stables is the third set to enter the Third 2019 Review Stage following the likes of Queen: I Want to Break Free and Seinfeld 30th Anniversary Set.

Disney LEGO Stores to Host Midnight Sales for Triple Force Friday

We’re just counting the days before Triple Force Friday kicks in, and in case you’re planning to head over at Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California or at Disney Springs at Disney World in Orlando, Florida then you may want to pay a visit at the Disney LEGO Stores in these locations on October 3 to 4.

The Disney Parks blog site has announced that in keeping up with the tradition of launching a new Star Wars film and its tie-in merchandise, the LEGO Stores located in the abovementioned Disney parks will be offering an early midnight sale which will include new LEGO Star Wars sets based on the last installment of the Star Wars Skywalker saga The Rise of Skywalker, Disney+’s The Mandalorian series, and a couple of LSW sets based on earlier Star Wars movies. Truth be told, these sets were already made available at some online retailers and were even spotted on store shelves of third-party retailers ahead of their official launch next week. But in case you haven’t made up your mind on that next LEGO Star Wars purchase, then sealing the deal on Triple Force Friday is a great way to earn some exclusive freebies and huge discounts.

Here’s a quick reference to this sales event as mentioned by Disney Parks.

You can join in the conversation on social using Triple #ForceFriday and at in-store retail celebrations around the globe when products set on Oct. 4. Fans in Orlando and Anaheim will be able to experience Oct. 4 midnight shopping at World of Disney at Disney Springs and Downtown Disney. Disney Springs will also feature midnight shopping at the LEGO Store, along with Star Wars-themed food and beverage offerings and a LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon Master Build Event.

So if you have plans of tracking down the latest and hottest Star Wars merchandise at these Disneyland locations then be sure to add the LEGO Stores in these locations to your bucket list. Traditionally, these sales events are quite popular to Star Wars and LEGO fans because of the pretty nice promos that LEGO attaches to it. From October 4 to 6, fans with qualifying LEGO Star Wars purchases of $75 and above will entitle them for a free and exclusive LEGO Star Wars Battle of Endor 20th Anniversary (40362) set.

Other than the new LEGO Star Wars sets that will launch on October 4, LSW fans that are looking for a good bargain will also pleased to know that the majority of currently available LEGO Star Wars sets will be offered at great discounts. We can expect that these discounts will go live as early as midnight of October 3 leading to October 4, and this will be offered across LEGO Stores both in-store and online. Better be quick though, since these discounted LEGO sets can run out pretty quickly. I’ll post some updates as soon as I can once new info comes in so stay tuned.

These Triple Force Friday products, including the leaked 2019 LEGO Star Wars sets, will also be officially revealed this Thursday.

Well actually, some of these 2019 LEGO Star Wars sets were already made available to fans in some locations, and there were numerous reports were these sets are already available for purchase both locally and abroad. In fact, a cursory search over YouTube will reveal a couple of early reviews of these sets made by the LEGO fan community who managed to legally purchase them from retailers ahead of their official global launch this week. In any case, even if you feel its a bit anti-climactic, the embargo on these 2019 LEGO Star Wars sets will inevitably be lifted soon.

2019 LEGO Christmas Tree (40338) Gift-With-Purchase Set Revealed

LEGO seems to be on a roll as we feel more and more of the Christmas vibe in the air. After revealing the Gingerbread House (10267) and LEGO BrickHeadz Reindeer, Elf & Elfie (40353), we now have another seasonal set to add to that Winter Village MOC that you might be working on, or just to simply have around as a pretty neat holiday decor around the house. Thanks to Promobricks, we now have a first look at this year’s LEGO Christmas Tree (40338) gift-with-purchase (GWP) seasonal set.

LEGO Christmas Tree (40338)

If you recall, this promotional set has been like a sort of tradition for the LEGO Group every holiday season, similar to the likes of last year’s LEGO Christmas Carousel (40293) and LEGO Christmas Box (40292). Both sets came with a certain qualifying purchase, and both looked lovely as holiday-inspired sets. Similarly, we can also expect that the LEGO Christmas Tree (40338) will be available to all LEGO fans perhaps as part once again of this year’s Black Friday deals.

LEGO Christmas Tree (40338)

The LEGO Christmas Tree (40338) comes in at 392 pieces and features a better version of a brick-built Christmas tree. It features several cool touches such as a rotating base, a series of nicely colored brick-built gift boxes, a microscaled train, and several colorful bulbs that imitate the tree’s flashing lights. By far, this is the best Christmas tree model that LEGO came up with at a very long time.

I’ll keep you posted once more info comes in regarding this set’s availability. But as I said, I’m assuming that this promotional set will go live once Black Friday 2019 kicks in, similar to what LEGO did in the past. Furthermore, we can also expect another LEGO seasonal Christmas set to be offered before the year ends so I’ll keep an eye on that as well. Thanks again to Promobricks for sharing this.

Seasonal LEGO BrickHeadz Reindeer, Elf & Elfie (40353) Revealed

After the announcement of this year’s sweet Winter Village set, LEGO is bringing in more Christmas cheers with another seasonal set coming from its collectible BrickHeadz line. This has been in our radar for the past couple of weeks since the reveal of the LEGO BrickHeadz Ghost (40351) last month. However, it’s nice to finally see some crisp, clear images of this 3-character set that will add up to that festive holiday spirit. Check out these official images of the LEGO BrickHeadz Reindeer, Elf & Elfie (40353) set.

Reindeer, Elf & Elfie (40353)

I like this set personally since it’s a great set to display together with last year’s similarly themed LEGO BrickHeadz Mr. & Mrs. Claus (40274). And in case you missed out on this set, you’ll be glad to know that this is still available at LEGO Shop@Home. The LEGO BrickHeadz Reindeer, Elf & Elfie (40353) set features three character builds which is a first in this particular theme. It also comes with a couple of accessories such as a red mailbox with a nice Mr. Claus BrickHeadz print and a signpost. Traditionally, LEGO BrickHeadz sets usually come with printed pieces. However, a closer look at the signposts shows that this set uses stickers as well. I’m not really the type to nitpick on this but I guess all of us will agree that it will be way better to have printed LEGO parts instead. Nevertheless, this set will be a great way to jumpstart your next Christmas-inspired LEGO decor project.

Reindeer, Elf & Elfie (40353) Reindeer, Elf & Elfie (40353)

The LEGO BrickHeadz Reindeer, Elf & Elfie (40353) comes in at 281 pieces and is expected to retail for $19.99. Be sure to keep tabs with us to know more on when this set will be available. Thanks to Brick Fanatics for the tip.

New 2019 LEGO Star Wars Sets Already On Sale Online

This may not new to most of you, but seeing them posted online and even currently on sale makes me feel that LEGO has given this the green light. French online retailer Auchan has listed for sale three new 2019 LEGO Star Wars sets just two weeks before the official launch of Triple Force Friday. If you recall, this wave of new LEGO Star Wars sets that was leaked all over the internet several weeks ago, primarily depicts scenes from the upcoming The Rise of Skywalker film that Disney and Lucasfilms were trying really hard to keep under wraps.

Now that we’re just counting the days before the much-awaited Star Wars sales event of the year, then we can expect that some of these new 2019 LEGO Star Wars sets will gradually be available. In fact, Auchan has them on sale so if you happen to be in France while you’re reading this then you may want to take this opportunity of purchasing these sets ahead of their global release next month. Check out these images from the French online store.

I also suppose that these sets will have a special place among LEGO Star Wars fans considering how big and ambitious the film is expected to be. Thanks to Hoth Bricks for the tip.

LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309) Now On Sale

One of the best sets that ever came out from the LEGO Ideas theme is the LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V (21309). It was a highly sought after set when it was first launched (no pun intended) in June of 2017, and LEGO fans were so into this set that stocks were immediately depleted due to the high demand. If for some reason you are still missing out on the NASA Apollo Saturn V even after 2 years when it was released, then you might be glad to know that Amazon has it on sale right now for as much as 17% off of its original price. This is the lowest price so far for the LEGO Ideas NASA Apollo Saturn V set, effectively making it less than a hundred dollars.

LEGO Ideas Seinfeld 30th Anniversary Product Idea Qualifies for Third 2019 Review Stage

After achieving the necessary 10,000 votes needed to move forward, the LEGO Ideas Seinfeld 30th Anniversary product idea by BrentWaller now qualifies for the Third 2019 LEGO Ideas Review Stage. This original LEGO Ideas project proposal celebrates 30 years of the beloved classic 90s comedy TV series, following a similar vein as such that of the now available (but temporarily out of stock) LEGO Ideas Central Perk (21319).

LEGO Ideas Seinfeld 30th Anniversary

The LEGO Ideas Seinfeld 30th Anniversary product idea won the votes of 10K LEGO fan supporters in just a few months since its entry in the crowd-sourcing platform in June of this year. It’s quite an accomplishment for a LEGO Ideas product idea considering the relatively short amount of time that it took to earn the necessary LEGO fan votes to move on to the Review Stage. This proposed LEGO set comes in at approximately 900 pieces, almost at a similar piece count to that of the  LEGO Ideas Central Perk. If you look closely, these sets also somehow share a notable similarity in terms of design, with both of them making good use of a central piece where all the characters interact. It will be really interesting to have these sets displayed side by side if in case the former becomes an official LEGO set. The LEGO Ideas Seinfeld 30th Anniversary product idea also includes minifigure versions of Jerry Seinfeld, George Costanza, Elaine Benes, Cosmo Kramer and “Newman”.

LEGO Ideas Seinfeld 30th Anniversary Product Idea

LEGO Ideas Seinfeld 30th Anniversary

On July 5th, 1989 the show about nothing was born.

This LEGO Ideas project celebrates the 30th Anniversary of the beloved classic 90s comedy sitcom with an accurate recreation of Jerrys Upper West Side Manhattan apartment using approximately 900 LEGO Pieces.

It also includes 5 minifigures including Comedian and show namesake, Jerry Seinfeld, neurotic best friend George Costanza, friend Elaine Benes, eccentric but kind-hearted neighbour Cosmo Kramer and Jerrys arch nemesis, mailmanand neighbour known only as “Newman”.

With your help and vote this project could become a real LEGO set so you too can recreate your favourite scenes about nothing.

The Seinfeld 30th Anniversary product idea joins Queen: I Want to Break Free as the second project to qualify for the Third 2019 LEGO Ideas Review Stage. So what do you think about this 90s sitcom-inspired set? Do you think it will win the approval of the LEGO Ideas Design team? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
