LEGO Disney Train and Station (71044) Revealed!

LEGO has just revealed its next direct-to-consumer (D2C) set that will surely win the hearts of Disney Park fans. Coming in at 2,925 pieces, the LEGO Disney Train and Station (71044) building set is not just aesthetically pleasing to look at, but also includes a Powered Up Hub and Motor which can be controlled remotely using a smart device. This set will retail for $329.99 USD and will be available to LEGO VIP members beginning August 21, with a general public release on September 1st. This is the next large Disney set that LEGO has offered following the release of the humongous LEGO Disney Castle (71040) back in 2016. In case you’ve noticed, the LEGO Disney Train and Station also gives us our first proper Goofy minifigure. We first saw him given the LEGO treatment in the Mickey and Friends Beach House (10827) Duplo set, but it does not kind of fit the common minifig category. Thankfully, we finally have an official LEGO minifigure version of him. I just wished that LEGO has thrown in a Pluto minifig as well.

Take a Look at These 21 Winning Minifigure Vignettes From the LEGO House

I’m a huge fan of LEGO minifigure vignettes and it goes to show that the people behind the LEGO House in Billund also has a soft spot for this form of LEGO art. In celebration of the 2nd year anniversary of the LEGO House this 2019, LEGO Ideas launched a contest that encourages builders to create fun builds that will wow visitors in the famous House of the Brick. This building contest ran for a month from May 6 to June 6, with the winners announced a couple of months ago. The contest had quite a following with more than 40 winning entries that were chosen. Out of this group of winners, there are 21 winning minifigure vignettes that were specifically chosen to have the bragging rights of being displayed for a year inside the LEGO House until 2020.

These 21 winning minifigure vignettes depict our little actors either in the business of doing their daily chores or living out the adventure of their lifetime. What makes these winning entries stand out is the particular brand of LEGO humor that they convey which is quickly recognizable to any LEGO fan.

Not only do the creators of these minifig depictions got the bragging rights of displaying their work inside the House of the Brick, but they also received the exclusive LEGO House Dinosaurs (40366) set that can never be found anywhere else. As a badge of their outstanding accomplishment, each of the winners was also awarded a uniquely printed personalized LEGO brick, with the name and country of the builder to accompany the model.

WATCH: A Closer Look at the LEGO CMF Series 19 (71025) Box Distribution

We saw its official images a couple of weeks ago, and this time we now have an idea on how many complete sets we can expect right out of the box of the upcoming LEGO CMF Series 19 (71025). YouTuber The Brick Shack managed to get his hands on three unopened boxes of this latest CMF line and has now revealed that we can expect three complete sets from each box of Series 19 collectible minifigs. Watch his video below.

Towards the end of his video, The Brick Shack has confirmed that the box distribution for the LEGO CMF Series 19 are as follows:

So it goes without saying that should you wait for their release on the 1st week of September, then better keep an eye on that freshly opened box in-store if you want to get all of them in one go. It also saves you the time and effort of feeling your way through each blind bag for that matter.

LEGO Ideas Updates: Here Are Additional Product Ideas That Qualify for the Second 2019 Review Stage

It has been a while since I reported on what’s going on with the LEGO Ideas platform, particularly on the various product ideas that garnered the much desired 10K fan approval from the LEGO fan community. And now that were just counting the weeks before the Second 2019 Review Stage commences, I’ve decided to revisit these product ideas that have now entered the coveted ranks of the 10K Club. If you recall, we already shared some details on the first product ideas that earned the support of LEGO fans earlier this year such as the Thunderbirds Are Go, UCS Space Shuttle Atlantis, The Office, and Gravity Falls Mystery Shack. These submissions are among the first product ideas that made it to this year’s Second Review Stage. And after a couple of months, let’s now take a look at the rest of these original brick creations that garnered the necessary fan votes to qualify for the next LEGO Ideas review stage. Welcome to 100 Acre Wood, the home of Winnie the Pooh and his friends. Explore Pooh’s home with Winnie the Pooh himself, Tigger, Rabbit, Owl (he’s sitting in the tree), Piglet and Eeyore.

This fun creation has been designed to look great as a display piece but also has great playability. With a removable house roof access to Pooh’s house and also the hidden nesting area in the tree is made easy.

With this model, I aimed to capture the beauty, tranquility, and style of the traditional Japanese Tea Garden.

This model contains many of the iconic features of Japanese Tea Gardens, including several statues, a torii, bonsai trees, a pond, a tall arched bridge, a pagoda, and a bench to sit on, relax, and take it all in.

At the backside of the model, the ground is cut away to reveal tree roots, a koi fish in the stream, and a hidden underground cavern.

Pursuit of Flight by JKBrickworks

This small kinetic sculpture is designed to celebrate the wonder of flight. The two planes tilt as they move from side to side, giving the illusion of flying gracefully through the air. The mechanism is controlled using a crank on the side of the model.

Medieval Blacksmith by Namirob

I am very happy to present to you, my Medieval Blacksmith. (This model inspired me by Cabanaminis – you can also find Merchant’s house there).

After two months of work, my model was finished. I put a special focus on many small details and the design. Also, I’ve varied a lot with the colors to give the Blacksmith the best possible expression. A harmonious color scheme was important as well, but one of the biggest challenges was the roof because there are many different angles and special techniques.

Of course, there is also an interior in this model. You can explore two different storeys, which you can see by a lift-off technique. On the first storey the forge can be seen and on the second is the living area.

From the outside, the Medieval Blacksmith is surrounded by many plants, animals and a large tree. Moreover, this set includes 3 minifigures and a lot of small details. In addition, the big carmine is characteristic of this set.

LEGO Jurassic World Video Game Coming to Nintendo Switch

The LEGO Jurassic World video game has been out for quite some time. Since 2015, it has been available across major gaming platforms even older ones such as the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. And as far as Nintendo is concerned, this collaboration between TT Fusion and WB Interactive has everything covered including being available to the 3DS and Wii U users. This time around, Nintendo Switch owners will have the chance of revisiting all four films but of course with a LEGO twist, starting September 17.

The LEGO Jurassic World for the Nintendo Switch will feature the original games based on all four Jurassic films: Jurassic Park (1993), The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), Jurassic Park (2001) and Jurassic World (2015). Other than its expected launch date on September 17, we still have no info on its pricing and other game features that may be unique for its Switch version. It would be interesting if WB Interactive will throw in a DLC or add a new level on the game considering that we already have Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom from last year.

The Nintendo eShop hasn’t updated its listing yet to include this latest offering so I suggest that you keep tabs with the online selling portal as well for any updates on the Switch version of the LEGO Jurassic World. Take a Look at the Wackiest Bedrock Inventions in this LEGO Ideas Contest

The winners have been chosen! If you recall from last June, the LEGO Ideas platform launched a contest that challenges builders to come up with their wackiest Bedrock inventions inspired by the recent LEGO Ideas The Flintstones (21316) set. The building champs have been finally selected, with a grand prize winner and two runner-ups bringing home the titles of being the coolest builders around Bedrock. Mini Scale Rockhead Quarry

This build is amazing at so many levels. First off, I’m a fan of mini and microbuilds and this winning entry from Digibricks_Kit managed to capture all these familiar dinos in such a tiny scale. The best part of it is that this minibuild was even able to provide a humorous context for this creation where a three-stud tall Fred and Barney are easily seen busy operating their, well, dinos.

“My Mommy Always Said There Were No Monsters… Only A Vicious-Looking Custom LEGO Aliens Xenomorph”

From a LEGO Facehugger MOC to a custom LEGO parasitic chest buster, it looks like the next step to this nasty alien’s brick evolution has finally arrived. We are all very familiar with that lingering sense of fear of being physically invaded and being turned to a host by that terrifying Xenomorph from the Alien movie franchise. Over the years, director Ridley Scott’s vision of this dreaded alien powerhouse managed to become a sort of pop culture icon immortalized in many different forms. And this time, our brick rockstars from Build Better Bricks managed to capture the alien’s final form in a custom LEGO Aliens Xenomorph.

Coming in at 599 pieces, this latest offering from B3 gives you an ultra-realistic version of this iconic monster, complete with all the fine details of the alien creature from the 1980s. For example, this alien’s head is perfectly replicated using shoulder pad pieces and Technic click hinges, while the mouth can be opened and even placed with a tiny, inner jaw. For added realism, a transclear 1×4 antenna may be connected underneath its mouth for that menacing drool.

Another cool feature of this build is its highly articulated and flexible tail, thanks to its use of Technic ball joints. These joints allow the custom LEGO Xenomorph to be posed in many different ways as well. The way in which these joints are connected also closely resembles the monster’s tail and skeletal structure as seen in the movie. The LEGO BrickHeadz Ghost (40351) Is An Early Halloween Treat

Following the trend of LEGO BrickHeadz seasonal sets and the promise of more BrickHeadz sets to come in future, LEGO has now updated its servers to include a couple of official images of its next signature brick collectibles. We now have a look at the next seasonal set to arrive in LEGO Stores in September – the LEGO BrickHeadz Ghost (40351).

The LEGO BrickHeadz Ghost (40351) comes in at 136 pieces and is expected to retail for $9.99 USD. This new seasonal set follows the Easter Chick (40350) which is still available at LEGO Shop@Home if you’re still interested in adding this to your collection. I like how this Ghost turned out, with all the challenges of creating a recognizable character (in this case, with all the curves and design challenges of this Ghost figure) and adopting the distinct BrickHeadz style to it, I have to say that it’s not an easy feat. It was also nice of LEGO to throw in some specific Halloween-themed parts such as the pumpkin head and the bat figure.

I’m also looking forward to this year’s holiday-inspired BrickHeadz which is the Reindeer, Elf and Elfie (40353). Its a sort of a megapack if I may use the word where you can get 3 characters in 1 set. This will be most likely available sometime in October or early November.
