This LEGO Ideas F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Set Will Be There For You Soon

LEGO has released a teaser of its next LEGO Ideas set via social media.  As expected, this LEGO Ideas set will be based on the Central Perk Coffee Shop from the hit sitcom TV series F.R.I.E.N.D.S. This teaser for the LEGO Ideas F.R.I.E.N.D.S. set features the minifigure characters of Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey and Phoebe as they hang out in front of the famous FRIENDS fountain seen in the opening sequence of the show.  You just got to love it how LEGO was able to render this in bricks.

This LEGO Ideas F.R.I.E.N.D.S. set was inspired by the original creation of  Aymeric Fievet (or Mric76 over at the LEGO Ideas platform) and was eventually chosen as the next LEGO Ideas set candidate during the Second 2018 Review Stage, alongside the now available  LEGO Ideas Steamboat Willie (21317)

I’m certain that LEGO will release several official images for this new LEGO Ideas set pretty soon, so be sure to stay tuned. You may follow us on social media – on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram – for more LEGO news, updates and the latest happenings in the LEGO fan community.

LEGO Star Wars 20th Anniversary Obi-Wan Kenobi Collectible Minifigure Revealed

Following the reveal of the LEGO Star Wars 2oth Anniversary Podracer (30461) and Snowspeeder (30384) polybags, fans can expect another collectible that celebrates 20 years of LEGO Star Wars. Thanks to a local eBay listing,  we now have a look at the LEGO Star Wars 20th Anniversary Obi-Wan Kenobi Collectible Minifigure (30624) expected to arrive anytime soon.

Obi-Wan Kenobi Collectible Minifigure

Obi-Wan Kenobi Collectible Minifigure

This next LEGO Star Wars collectible takes its cue from the first Obi-Wan minifigure that was released in LEGO Star Wars Landspeeder (7110) from 1999. It also comes with a buildable stand featuring a printed base with the exclusive 20 Years of LEGO Star Wars logo. This is similar to other collectible minifigures included in the line-up LEGO Star Wars 20th Anniversary sets.

We have no other info as of press time regarding the availability of this polybag, but Toys N Bricks surmise that this Obi-Wan Kenobi Collectible Minifigure (30624) may be available as an upcoming LEGO promo. LEGO in the past has similarly released several related promotional CMFs including the Han Solo Mudtrooper (40300), DJ (40298) from The Last Jedi subtheme, and the Scariff Stormtrooper (40176) and R3-M2 (40268) both from Rogue One. All of these minifigs were given away for free for qualifying LEGO purchases worth $30 to $50 USD. So it is not far-fetched to consider if this Obi-Wan collectible will have the same treatment.

We’ll be on the lookout once news about this new LEGO Star Wars collectible breaks out. For the meantime, be sure to check out the rest of the LEGO Star Wars 20th Anniversary sets by clicking on the links below. LEGO Worlds Have Finally Come To An End

Since its launch in 2016, the LEGO open-world video game LEGO Worlds, have so much potential to become the next sandbox game to contend against Minecraft. However, after three years and a failed a Survivor DLC update, it seems that the end is finally near with LEGO Worlds. The announcement has been made via the game’s official YouTube channel when the final collection of free LEGO Worlds downloadable content has been released. Here’s the video announcement earlier in July.

The final collection of LEGO Worlds content is finally here for you to download and it’s absolutely FREE! As a thank you to all our Master Builders we’ve amassed a humongous bundle of minifigures, brick builds, props and more for you to craft even more lavish LEGO creations and continue your exciting adventures. The Showcase Collection Pack 2 is available to download right now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.

Get all the AWESOMELY FREE content we released on the showcase in 2018! Download your favorite characters, builds, props and more from ALL of the amazing sets we released, including original models featuring Pirates, the Wild West, and Ancient Egypt.

This final free DLC features an array of expansion packs such as Cloud Castles, Treasure Islands, City Life, Ancient Egypt, The Wild West, Ninjago City, Carnival Fun Fair and much more. Though some fans were clearly upset about this announcement, LEGO Worlds really didn’t take flight as compared to other LEGO video games such as LEGO Marvel Superheroes and its sequel, and LEGO DC Super-Villains. The game clearly has potential, but I guess it failed to click with some gamers and fans.

So what do you think went wrong with LEGO Worlds? What improvements could have been made in order for it to be a top-LEGO video game? Share us what you think in the comments below.

A Look at the LEGO Technic Liebherr R 9800 (42100) and LEGO Technic Control+ App

With the release of The LEGO Technic 4×4 X-treme Off-Roader (42099) at the start of the month (currently on backorder status as of this posting), follows the release as well of its accompanying LEGO Technic Control+ app that allows a wide range of remote control access to this set via any app-compatible smartphone. Like the rest of the new Technic sets that take advantage of LEGO’s new Powered-Up technology, the 4×4 X-treme Off-Roader is a good starting point to launch the theme’s flagship set for 2019: the LEGO Technic Liebherr R 9800 (42100).

Coming in at 4,108 pieces and utilizing the latest Powered-Up accessories, this mammoth build is the largest and most advanced set ever created for the Technic line. For those who are eagerly waiting for this set, we might need to be more patient since it has been reported that the LEGO Technic Liebherr R 9800 will be released on a later date, from an initial August launching it has been apparently moved to the month of October. We had an initial look of its physical features back in April when several German LEGO fan sites published several promotional images of the set were provided by the Liebherr Group.

Now thanks to a now-expired eBay auction, we now have a couple of official images of the LEGO Technic Liebherr R 9800 (42100). It may not be that much, but it does give us an idea of how grand this set is.

Liebherr R 9800 (42100)

Liebherr R 9800 (42100)

In preparation for the launch of this set including that of the 4×4 X-treme Off-Roader, LEGO has also released its accompanying app the LEGO Technic Control+ via Apple App and Google Play stores. The Control+ app allows a wide range of remote control access to the LEGO Technic Liebherr R 9800 (42100) and to other future LEGO Technic sets that will also make use of the new Powered-Up components. Here’s the official description of the Control+ app.

German LEGO fan site Klemmbausteinlyrik was kind enough to share their interview with the design team behind the LEGO Technic Liebherr R 9800 (42100) during the 2019 LEGO Fan Media Days that happened in Billund last May. The video gives us a glimpse at the enormous scale and complexity of this set, together with the many features of the Control+ app.

The LEGO Technic Liebherr R 9800 (42100) is expected to retail for a whopping 450 Euros or approximately $500 USD. It comes in at 4,108 pieces and includes 2 Powered-Up smart hubs and 7 motors, with a release date of sometime in October.

Here’s a Look at What’s Happening at LEGO Stores This August

As you may have noticed, there has been a lot of changes with the way LEGO has promoting it’s content and product line-up during these past months, and one of these is the way it delivers info regarding the happenings inside our local LEGO stores. For starters, we all know that the monthly LEGO Store Calendar as we know it has gone through an overhaul, with the digital copy of the calendar only made available at the start of each month.

As such, most fans now need to be quick on spotting LEGO store promos especially those that tend to be offered on a very limited time period. And I guess this is exactly the case with this month’s LEGO Store promos. I have to admit that this may not be new for most of our readers but still, it may be helpful for some who are looking for the best promos this month at their nearby LEGO stores. Just click on the following images to see the LEGO Store August Calendar up-close, or you may opt to download it as a PDF copy.

Free Baby Velociraptor Playpen

30382 alt1

This promotional polybag comes free with LEGO Jurassic World purchases worth $35 and above. You have to be quick though because this LEGO Jurassic World Baby Velociraptor Playpen (30382) polybag will only be available until August 7, 2019.

Free Mia’s Water Fun Pack

30410 alt1

Unfortunately, this promo is long over as of posting time. The LEGO Friends Mia’s Water Fun (30410) polybag were only available for a day (August 4, 2019) for a minimum single-receipt purchase of any LEGO merchandise worth $35 and above.

Free Reversible Tote Bag for LEGO VIPs

5005910

From August 1 to 14, LEGO VIP members with LEGO purchases equal to $200 and more are entitled to a free LEGO Reversible Canvas Bag (5005910) to help you carry your latest LEGO haul. This promo is not new actually since a different version of this tote bag was offered to the general public back in June and November of 2017.

Build a Mini Harley-Davidson Motorcycle and Take It Home for Free

LEGO Harley-Davidson Mini-Build

I reckon that this is the most appealing promotional offered for this month. This make-and-take building event is slated in LEGO stores just for one day on August 6, so better expect this to be gone really fast. This mini-build of the iconic Harley-Davidson bike has made its appearance in places like in Germany and China and takes its cue from its larger cousin, the recently released LEGO Creator Expert Harley-Davidson Fat Boy (10269). Do take note that this building event requires pre-registration (which already started last August 1) at your local LEGO store. You must also be age 18 and above to participate.

Ice Cream Truck Building Event

40327 1

For younger LEGO builders, the LEGO Store is the place to be on August 14 and 20. Children ages 6 to 14 can pre-register to have the chance of building and bringing home this excellent Ice Cream Truck model. Though LEGO didn’t mention specifically that this model is similar to the now practically discontinued Monthly Mini Build promos, the way it works seems to be similar.

Live In-Store LEGO Lab Demos

42099 2 1

Throughout the whole month of August, LEGO will be introducing a new hands-on concept to fans and first time LEGO Store visitors. Dubbed as LEGO Lab, LEGO Stores will now have live demonstrations of its latest LEGO sets especially those that feature breakthrough technologies, robotics, and new interactive Powered-Up sets. This includes sets that most likely include the new augmented-reality technology as featured in the LEGO Hidden Side theme and those from new Technic sets that feature the Power-Up technology such as the 4×4 X-Treme Off-Roader (42099).

Other than these activities happening or slated to happen in LEGO Stores, this month also marks the launch of new LEGO sets such as LEGO Architecture Empire State Building (21046), LEGO Hidden Side Newbury Haunted High School (70425), and the entire range of LEGO Jurassic World Legend of Isla Nublar sets including the largest among the four, the T. rex vs Dino Mech Battle (75938).

Be sure to check out these promos and events at your local LEGO Store and let us know what you think in the comments below.

Create Your Own LEGO Harley-Davidson Mini-Build With These Building Instructions

LEGO fans near NYC, specifically at the Flatiron District, are now just counting the days before the LEGO Store opens its doors for another Make-and-Take Event slated this August. As a way of promoting the new LEGO Creator Expert Harley-Davidson Fat Boy (10269), this next LEGO Make and Take event allows LEGO fans to build a mini-replica of the iconic motorbike using only 70 LEGO pieces. Most of us will probably miss out in bringing home this LEGO Harley-Davidson mini-build due to obvious geographical reasons, but thankfully, we have the good ol’ folks of Promobricks and their friends to help us figure out how to create our own.

Towards the end of July, bikers and other participants of Dresden, Germany’s Harley Days were in for a brick surprise from the LEGO promotional team. Other than showcasing a life-sized brick model of the famous big bike, participants of the celebrated biker event were treated with a LEGO Harley-Davidson mini-build which they can construct and take home. As such, those who joined the event managed to snap images of its respective parts list and building instructions as you can see below.

LEGO Harley-Davidson Mini-Build
Search your LEGO collection if you have these parts to have your own LEGO Harley-Davidson Mini-Build.

lego harley davidson mini build 2 lego harley davidson mini build 3

Coming in at 70 pieces, the parts list is pretty straightforward with most of it consisting of Technic parts. There seem to be no exclusive parts included in this mini build, with the exception of the unique Harley-Davidson logo sticker which is exclusive to this mini-build. But even without the sticker sheet, this is still an excellent build that any LEGO rider will surely love to include in his or her collection.

Building Instructions for LEGO SDCC 2019 Exclusive Sets Now Available

For LEGO fans who were not able to join in this year’s San Diego Comic-Con and thus have access to the LEGO SDCC 2019 exclusive sets that are to be found in the LEGO booth, this might be our chance to have our own versions of these. LEGO Customer Services was kind enough to upload the building instructions for this three LEGO SDCC 2019 exclusive sets: the LEGO Star Wars Sith Trooper Bust (77901), the LEGO Marvel Superheroes Captain Marvel and the Asis (77902), and LEGO DC Comics The Dark Knight of Gotham City (77903).

Check out the building instructions for each of these sets by clicking on the following links.

Though there are no exclusive parts included in these sets save for the 2×3 special anniversary printed tile that goes with the Dark Knight of Gotham City (77903), the rest are relatively common. There are also a couple of first-for-2019 parts that are still exceptionally rare like the Black 1X2 Roof Tile used in the Sith Trooper Bust, and the Medium Stone Gray 2×2 Inverted Plate with Snap for the Captain Marvel and the Asis, both of which are found only in 4 to 5 sets. With some improvision, these parts can be somehow replaced if you’re not the completionist type.

If you need a handy tool to know if you have all the necessary parts needed to build these sets LEGO SDCC 2019 exclusive sets, then you may want to check out Rebrickable. Not only does the site have the needed parts inventory from these sets, but it also features a handful of powerful search tools to help you see if you have all the parts that you will require as compared against the LEGO sets that you currently have. It also allows you to connect to Bricklink or Brickowl to directly purchase any missing LEGO parts to third-party sellers if in case you need to find that rare piece.

So what do you think about this collection of LEGO SDCC 2019 exclusives? Which one will you build this weekend?

A Look at the LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 19 (71025)

I was mostly offline during these past few days since I shared some of my initial thoughts on the next wave of LEGO collectible minifigs (was struggling with a ridiculous amount of schoolwork during these times).  I must also admit that I based my opinion of them on a blind bag checklist that was leaked on social media sites. But thanks to online German toy store JB Spielwaren, we can now have a better look at these images. These are official images by the way that LEGO provided to third party retailers and as of this posting Spielwaren has them up on their site so I guess its fair game sharing these here are as well. I’m still waiting for LEGO to announce the official names of these characters from the LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 19 (71025), so for the meantime let’s settle for these preliminary names.
