LEGO Harry Potter 20th Anniversary Commemorative Minifigures Revealed

It seems that LEGO has cast a transfiguration spell on this one. And as this year marks another milestone for one of LEGO’s well-loved theme, it seems that a wave of LEGO Harry Potter 20th anniversary commemorative minifigures are on their way.

Shared by wizardingworld over at Instagram, this collection of six LEGO Harry Potter minifigures come in an entirely golden color scheme including their base plates and accessories, and will be included in select LEGO HP sets that are slated to be released in the 2nd half of 2021. This wave of LEGO Harry Potter sets will also be a part of LEGO’s anniversary line of offerings that marks the theme’s 20th year. This is very much the same as what LEGO did with Ninjago’s 10th-anniversary sets earlier this year, where similar golden commemorative minifigs were included in some sets to add to its appeal and collectability.

LEGO HP 20th minifigs

The LEGO Harry Potter characters that are expected to be given the golden magic treatment will be Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Professor Severus Snape, Voldemort, and Quirinus Quirrell. We have no word yet at what particular sets they will be included. But since images of these LEGO Harry Potter 20th anniversary minifigures are already out there, and we’re just a couple of months away before the LEGO H2 sets are officially released, then we can expect a steady wave of LEGO set reveals to be around the corner.

In the meantime, be sure to keep tabs here at our blog site and keep an eye over at LEGO Shop@Home as well.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Delayed Once Again

I guess we have to wait a little longer for this one. In a not-so-very-surprising turn of events, it looks like the much anticipated LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga video game will be delayed once again. And of course, we can’t blame game developer TT Games for this pandemic-stricken situation.

poster lego star wars the skywalker saga

After almost a year when news came out of a possible August 2020 release date, it seems that the journey from studio to console will have to wait a tad longer. The announcement came via TT Games’ official Twitter account which you can see below:

It is reasonable to assume that the LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is now in its final development stages. But since this pandemic has gotten a lot of projects derailed in the video game industry, it is clearly forgivable that delays like this are bound to happen. We’re not just sure yet where exactly this video game stands in terms of releasing, whether it is still being polished with the possible inclusion of an upcoming Star Wars The Bad Batch tie-in, or it’s a matter of logistical issues.

lego sw skywalker saga

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is hailed to be THE largest, galaxy-spanning Star Wars video game that LEGO has ever come up with. And with every known major LEGO Star Wars character reportedly coming to the game as a playable avatar set in a massive open world in a galaxy far away, the potential and excitement for this game are very much expected.  This game also comes in a Deluxe Edition which you can find over at Amazon and will be available for all major consoles and the PC via Steam.

Are you planning to get this game despite of its delays? Let me know what you think in the comments below.

LEGO Looney Tunes Collectible Minifigures (71030) Confirmed!

I had to take a second look at this one, partly because at the back of my mind, I’m still wary about those April 1st “news” that I have to contend with. However, I’m glad to say that this piece of news is excitingly legit and by no means a prank. Because as it turns out, the once rumored LEGO Looney Tunes Collectible Minifigures (71030) is now finally confirmed! Beep beep! Super cool minifigs coming through!

Thanks to a Brickset member, we now have our first legitimate look at this new LEGO CMF. And to remove all doubts that this might be illegally leaked, Brickset member shima55 even uploaded a copy of the sales receipt issued by a third-party retail store from Northern California. The receipt confirms that the LEGO Looney Tunes CMF box contains 36 figures retailing for $215.64. And with 12 minifigs in this series, it stands to reason that each box contains three complete sets.

71030 box

And wow, just wow! I’m already loving this CMF line! The care and effort that LEGO just showed in coming up with an entirely new range of minifigure molds for this series are just awesome. And how these minifigs captured that classic Looney Tunes nostalgia just leaves the entire CMF to be desired. The choice of accessories is just as hilarious as well. I’m really having a blast right now at those anvil and birdseed accessories for Coyote and Road Runner. I bet Sylvester will also have second thoughts on that massive sledgehammer that Tweety is holding, lol. And the references for those Rabbit Season and That’s All Folks printed tiles are just spot-on hilarious.

shima55 was also kind enough to share this CMF checklist as well, where we can see all of the twelve characters included in this LEGO Looney Tunes Collectible Minifigures (71030). I zoomed in at each character so we can have a better look.

#09 Tasmanian Devil

#10 Marvin the Martian

#11 Petunia Pig

Though these minifigs are numbered in such a way that suggests that they are basically paired (like Coyote and Road Runner, or Tweety Bird and Sylvester for example), I couldn’t help but wonder why Elmer Fudd or Yosemite Sam is not included in this list. I’m just crossing my fingers that this offering is just the first series for this line and that a LEGO Looney Tunes CMF Series 2 might be in the works as well.

Whatever is the case, this latest LEGO CMF will definitely be in my must-have minifigs for this year, and I just hope that LEGO Shop@Home will be listing them soon. So what are your thoughts on this latest LEGO CMF offer? Which LEGO Looney Tunes character are you most excited for? Let’s talk about it in the comments below.

A big thank you once again to Brickset for sharing this good news.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Venom (76187) Officially Revealed

I guess you have to make space for one more brick-built LEGO sculpture this April. After a LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Carnage (76199) set was eventually unveiled a couple of weeks ago, it was only a matter of time before we see Marvel’s favorite symbiote officially given the LEGO treatment. LEGO Shop@Home has now officially listed a LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Venom (76187) set slated to arrive on April 26, 2021.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Venom

Though I understand that most LEGO Marvel fans are looking forward to having this new Venom set, I have to say that its reveal is a bit underwhelming. Partly because right off the bat, it is simply a recolored version of what we saw with Carnage’s brick version. In fact, it seems to use the same kind of LEGO elements (with a different color scheme of course), with 20 additional LEGO pieces thrown into it. However, to give this set its defining feature, a long protruding tongue and a unique printed tile piece bearing the anti-hero’s name, are also included in this official LEGO sculpture of Venom.

If you consider the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Venom (76187) set as a must-have this April, then you may want to take a look at its product description and official images below. It will be available at the end of the month retailing for $59.99. You may click on the following affiliate link below to add this to your LEGO wishlist.

LEGO Rolls Out Two New LEGO DC Super Heroes Batmobile Sets

A Vietnamese toy retailer has revealed two new LEGO DC Super Heroes Batmobile sets that take their cue from the Batman classic TV series. MyKingdom has published their set images and names, with the option of purchasing them directly from their online shopping portal.

The LEGO DC Super Heroes Batman vs The Joker Batmobile chase (76180) is a 4+ set that features a classic, scaled-down version of the Batmobile designed with younger LEGO fans in mind. Its design is somewhat similar to its larger 18+ cousin, the LEGO 1989 Batmobile (76139). It includes minifigures of Batman and the Joker, and what looks to be a new rendition of the Batgirl.

The LEGO DC Super Heroes Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile (76188) is more like a re-release of the portion of 2016’s direct-to-consumer (D2C) LEGO Batman Classic TV Series – Batcave (76052). This re-issued version of the Batmobile even has an information plate giving it a certain premium feel in such modest size. It also comes with minifigs of the 1966 classic TV versions of Batman and Joker. If you missed out on the LEGO Batcave from five years ago, and wish to add this classic version of the LEGO Batmobile, and then here’s your second chance to get it without diving deep into your pockets.

There is no further information as of this posting regarding the piece count and US retail price of these new LEGO Batmobile sets. I’ll give you updates soon as they make their appearance over at LEGO Shop@Home.

Is LEGO Giving Us a Glimpse of a New LEGO Star Wars UCS R2-D2 Set?

Eagle-eyed LEGO fans were quick to take notice of what seems to be a new LEGO Star Wars UCS R2-D2 set included in a promotional video intended for its recently announced LEGO Imperial Probe Droid (75306).

The now-deleted video puts the spotlight on the brick-built sculpture of the Imperial Probe Droid while having a sizeable R2-D2 peeking under the table. And because the said video has been deleted, it goes to show that someone from LEGO is certainly doing some sort of damage control.

01 UCS R2 D2 teaser 75308
Peek-a-boo, I see you R2!

As you can see from the above screenshot, this version of R2 looks to be a brand new model, significantly different from its predecessor, the LEGO Star Wars UCS R2-D2 (10225) released in 2012. The newer version uses several curved slopes and plates giving it a more sleek and smooth look. And if what Promobricks’ sources tell us turns out to be true, then we can expect this to be part of this year’s line-up of LEGO Star Wars May the 4th releases.

10225 1
A UCS LEGO Star Wars version of R2-D2 was first released back in 2012. Are we going to see another rendition in 2021?

Please bear in mind that at its best, these are just speculations, and it’s always prudent to wait for LEGO’s official announcements and press release. I’ll keep this post updated once additional information comes in.

So what do you think of this possible new LEGO Star Wars UCS set? Do you think it’s long overdue? Let me know what you think in the comments below.

More LEGO Star Wars Helmets Revealed – Now Up at LEGO Shop@Home

After its initial launch in March of last year, LEGO has now added more Instagram-worthy sets under its LEGO Star Wars Helmets collection. And this time around, the Empire is getting another boost with the introduction of the LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Helmet (75304), and the Scout Trooper Helmet (75305).

These latest additions to the LEGO Star Wars Helmets feature some of the most iconic figures in Star Wars lore. This most recent version of the Sith Lord is by far his largest brick sculpture to date. If you recall back in 2019, LEGO has also released a Target-exclusive LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Bust (75227) as part of LEGO’s promotional event in celebrating LEGO Star Wars’ 20th anniversary. However, this year’s offering c0mes with almost 3 times the number of LEGO pieces compared to its predecessor.

Additionally, the LEGO Star Wars Scout Trooper Helmet (75305) comes as the third Imperial-inspired set among the LEGO Star Wars Helmet collection, following that of the Stormtrooper Helmet (75276) and TIE Fighter Pilot Helmet (75274). It will be great if LEGO will also come up with a Rebel Pilot Helmet of some sort to balance things out. We just have to wait and see.
