LEGO Ninjago Season 15 Sets – What We Know So Far

As you may already know, this year marks the 10th anniversary of LEGO Ninjago since its debut back in 2011. Since then, the TV series has quite a following producing several seasons, an animated film, and a lot of cool LEGO sets to boast. And while we are still waiting for the LEGO Ninjago The Island sets to be released next month, it seems that LEGO has already laid out plans for its LEGO Ninjago Season 15 sets.

LEGO Ninjago Season 15 Sets and Beyond

If you’re not too much into spoilers, then I suggest that you might need to hit that back button to keep yourself untainted about these numerous leaks that are spreading over the internet. But let me be clear that I am not posting any leaked images here in respect to LEGO’s embargo on these upcoming sets. However, if you insist, then read on and do a quick search over at Instagram and follow the trail of bricks right there.

If I remember it correctly, it was our friends from Promobricks who first broke the news regarding these LEGO Ninjago 2021 sets back in November. It was also somewhat expected considering that these sets are part of LEGO’s offering for the first half of the year. Though official images are already available back then coming primarily from a third-party retailer, there is an interesting piece of info that was included in the report. As it seems, LEGO not only has LEGO Ninjago The Island sets all ready set up but also including the tie-in sets that are supposed to be released in the 2nd half of 2021.

Particularly, this collection of LEGO Ninjago Season 15 sets will continue the adventure of the team from the uncharted island to the depths of the perilous seas. And this time around, the focus is now shifted to Nya and the mystery behind her elemental powers. Here’s how one particular TV station summarizes Season 15:

When Nya’s powers are disrupted, the ninja set off in search of answers and find themselves at the bottom of endless oceans where they discover that her powers are linked to an ancient mythical creature.

Though there is no working title revealed for this next season, it is clear from the get-go that their next adventure will be a sort of underwater expedition to discover this mythical sea creature. And as expected, the LEGO Ninjago tie-in sets for this season will reflect an underwater adventure theme. As listed by Promobricks, these sets will include:

  • Llyod’s Hydro Mech (71750)
  • Ninja Sub Speeder (71752)
  • Water Dragon (71754)
  • Temple of Endless Sea (71755)
  • Hydro Bounty (71756)
lego ninjago season 15 set
An Instagram post from one of LEGO’s social media channels reveals the LEGO Ninjago Lloyd’s Hydro Mech (71750) as it hitches a ride on a backpack.

Recently, water-marked preliminary images of these sets have started to appear on social media. In fact, Lloyd’s Hydro Mech was actually teased in one of LEGO’s Instagram account, presumably from Chile.  One of the set’s prominent features includes an over-sized shoulder guard which is an inverted roof piece first seen in the LEGO Ninjago Movie Piranha Attack (70629).

The Ninja Sub Speeder is basically a race-car build fitted with turbines for its mags. It comes in a blue, orange, and black color scheme with three minifigures.

The Water Dragon for me is the most impressive by far. It features an underwater, Asian-inspired dragon that is somewhat reminiscent of the now discontinued LEGO Elves theme. It is impressively articulated and I assume that this set might be referencing the mysterious mythical creature that Nya needs to find.

The Temple of the Endless Sea features an underwater shrine of some sort and is guarded by a large and imposing sea creature. The way it is designed is similar to semi-circular temples or shrines from previous Ninjago seasons.

Finally, it seems that Destiny’s Bounty will also have an underwater counterpart in the form of the Hydro Bounty, less its sails of course. The latter has a slimmer and lower profile making it suitable for quick movements under water.

That’s how far I can go in describing these LEGO Ninjago Season 15 sets, and we can expect these to be released sometime in June, or within the third quarter of the year just in time for Season 15’s debut. In the meantime be sure to check with LEGO Shop@Home for the latest LEGO Ninjago offerings that you can expect next month.

The March 2021 LEGO Store Calendar Puts Vidiyo on Center Stage

The March 2021 LEGO Store Calendar has now been uploaded, placing its latest LEGO Vidiyo theme under the spotlight. Other than the full reveal of this latest AR-powered theme which is slated to launch next month, the promotional calendar also features several exciting freebies that LEGO fans can expect from their next LEGO purchase.  Let’s take a look.

Free Exclusive LEGO Amelia Earhart Tribute (40450)

March 2021 LEGO Store Calendar

This offer is valid from March 6 to 14, 2o21, or while supplies last. First discovered earlier this month, this limited-edition set celebrates the life and accomplishment of the legendary aviator Amelia Earhart when she flew over the Atlantic in 1932. This exclusive gift-with-purchase set features a red Lockheed Vega 5b on top of a brick-built display set bearing our heroine’s name. It also comes with our first-ever minifigure version of Earhart which will undoubtedly be a prized possession for minifig collectors. I’m not really sure what LEGO’s intention behind the release of this set since the timing of the release is a bit early if we want to recognize her iconic flight which happened in May of 1932. Nevertheless, it’s a great collectible set I wouldn’t mind added to my cart. The LEGO Amelia Earhart Tribute (40450) will be automatically added to your cart for free once your single-receipt LEGO purchase reaches $100 and above. This offer is available both in-store and online.

Free LEGO Seasonal Easter Bunny’s Carrot House (40449)

March 2021 LEGO Store Calendar

Just in time for this year’s Easter celebrations, the LEGO Seasonal Easter Bunny’s Carrot House (40449) is the next promotional item to be available from March 15 to April 5, 2021. This set will be yours for free for every single-receipt purchase of any LEGO products worth $60 and above. It features a carrot-themed house with plenty of interior details and a mini rabbit build. I can easily imagine the Carrot House to be a great complementary set for 2018’s Easter Bunny minifigure. Similar to other promos, the Easter Bunny’s Carrot House will be available both in-store and online.

Free LEGO Easter Chick (30579) Polybag

30579 1

For a lower promotional price point, you can get a free LEGO Easter Chick polybag from March 15 to April 5, 2021, for every single-receipt LEGO purchase worth $40 and above. It’s a rather scaled-down, polybag version of 2020’s limited-edition exclusive LEGO Easter Egg (40371).

Other than these freebies, LEGO has heavily promoted the release of the LEGO Vidiyo sets that features a pretty interesting collection of minifigures coming from its BeatBoxes and Bandmates subtheme. As of date, we can expect six LEGO Vidiyo Beatboxes, and 12 additional Bandmates to be available come March 1st.

And finally, in case you missed it, the LEGO Creator Expert Porsche 911 (10295) has already been released to LEGO VIP members, and will also be available to the general public beginning March. Be sure to check with LEGO Shop@Home for more information on other upcoming sets.

Get Your Game Face On With the LEGO Ideas We Love Sports! Fan Vote Contest

If you recall from late December of last year, LEGO Ideas launched a contest similar to what it did with the Music To Our Ears fan vote contest. And this time around, the contest’s theme centers on our love for sports – whether be it your favorite athlete, team, or for the love of the sports itself. The LEGO Ideas We Love Sports! fan vote contest is now in its crowd vote phase, with 10 outstanding builds that fans can support and vote for.

The mechanics of the contest is pretty straightforward: the contest entry with the most number of fan votes from February 15 to 25 will be declared as the Grand Winner and thus, entitled to receive the following goodies:

And from this pool of 10 finalists, the LEGO Ideas Review Team will select one product idea that has the potential to become the next official LEGO Ideas set. Similar to the mechanics of its previous Music To Our Ears contest, the Review Team’s choice of a product idea is independent of that from the product idea that received the most number of fan votes. If an entry was eventually chosen to be the next official LEGO Ideas set, then the fan designer will receive:

  • 1% of the total net sales of the product
  • 10 complimentary copies of the entry’s official LEGO Ideas set
  • Credit and bio in set materials as the LEGO Ideas Fan Designer

With that out of the way, let’s take a look at the finalists for the LEGO Ideas We Love Sports! fan vote contest. You may click on the following links below to vote for your favorite sports-themed build. Remember that you can only cast your vote once so be sure to choose your entry carefully. The fan vote phase will also end on February 25 next week.

First 2021 LEGO Ideas Review Stage

The LEGO Ideas Website Now Has a New Look

Over the years, the LEGO Ideas website had its share of aesthetic and functional improvements. And this time around, the LEGO fan builder platform has made its most significant visual refresh to date.

As reported by LEGO Engagement Manager Hasan Jensen, it is their way of making all of these little improvements consistent or complimentary of each other, giving the site a de-cluttered, and more simplified look. Specifically, here’s what we can expect:

Over the last months, the team has worked towards giving LEGO Ideas a brand new look focused on simplifying, modernizing and improving the visual experience and consistency across the site.

As we have added new experiences and functionality over the years, we came to the realisation that this was not done in the most consistent way and needed an overhaul to get it all aligned.

During this time, we also took the opportunity to make minor tweaks in various places including:

  • Moving the Blog into the top navigation and subsequently moving Community into the Explore tab
  • Moved from a 4 column design in Explore/Search to place focus on the individual design. Focus on the design submitted is further enhanced by a reduction of the supporter counter.
  • Adding a “Supporting” flag on all Product Ideas you have already supported
  • Moved your “Followers” and “Following” in the profile tab to the left side of the profile page, making the central part all about the content you submit
  • And more…

Other than realigning some of the site’s functionalities and directories, Hasan also made mention of some new rules regarding posting main images of product ideas. This is done so that all entries will now be consistent with how the new LEGO Ideas website looks like.

In order to maintain a clean and consistent look across the site, main images of submissions will no longer be allowed to contain any text or titles, unless otherwise specified.

The only exception is text that is a part of stickers/prints on elements that are explicitly a part of the LEGO model submitted. Text/titles placed on LEGO elements so as to bypass this will not be allowed.

lego ideas new rules

For builders and fan designers to have some time to adjust to these new rules, the LEGO Ideas Team will start moderating entries beginning Monday next week, February 22. This means that any submissions done after midnight of the 21st will no longer be allowed to have text on their main images as stipulated in the guidelines. And though the LEGO Ideas Second 2020 Review Stage has already been concluded, we can expect these changes to be applied to future and current product submissions.

Like any other online collaborative platform, the LEGO Ideas website is not perfect and it will appreciate any feedback that it can get from the LEGO fan community. So what do you think of these changes? Do you think the LEGO Ideas Team has it all covered, or do you have some areas or functionalities that you want to look into? New LEGO Speed Champions 2021 Sets Arriving This Summer

In case you haven’t noticed, LEGO was quite mum at the start of this year regarding its plans of releasing its lineup of LEGO Speed Champions 2021 sets. It was obviously missing from its H1 2021 catalog and was not even mentioned in our list of expected sets for the first half of the year. This led to some speculations that LEGO might be pulling the plug for this long-running theme, worrying some fans that we might soon see the end for these mid-sized speedsters.

But thanks to new information from Promobricks, we can be assured that LEGO has not given up on the theme and is now expected to release its next wave of LEGO Speed Champions 2021 sets this summer. According to reports from brick street, it seems that LEGO had issues with its planned market launch due to the pandemic. But the sets are all ready to roll-out and we can expect several info and images to be out in the next couple of months. In the meantime, here’s what we know so far based on the brick intel gathered by our friends from Promobricks.

There is a total of six new LEGO Speed Champions 2021 sets that we can expect this June, with new models based on existing brands and a couple of dual-packs consisting of modern and classic speedsters. We don’t have official images as of the moment, but we can surely have an idea of what they are based on their set names and other specifics. The images of their real-life counterparts included here are just an approximation, and might be eventually different from the final LEGO Speed Champion sets that will be offered this summer.

There is another set labeled as 76905, and though we don’t have any further details about this except for its price point of $49.99, then we can perhaps expect this to be another dual-pack set similar to the previous 2 sets above. And considering that their release date is expected to be in June, we can assume that LEGO might be releasing these sets’ official info sometime in April. Be sure to stay tuned for more updates.
