ICYMI: LEGO Harry Potter 2023 Sets Officially Revealed!

In case you missed it, LEGO.com has officially revealed its first wave of LEGO Harry Potter 2023 sets scheduled to be released on March 1, 2023 – two of which are a long time coming. It’s great to see that we will have an official LEGO set that depicts the Fiendfyre escape scene from Deathly Hallows Part 2. And after 18 years, we are seeing the return of the Merpeople in minifigure form, as we saw them from the Goblet of Fire.

On top of these, we are also getting 4 sets that put the spotlight on the activities in the individual quarters of the four houses of Hogwarts. LEGO even added a bit of magic to its design by adding a lenticular feature on each of the set’s backboards giving it a 3D-like illusion of the windows and paintings. And on top of these, we’re getting plenty of new Harry Potter minifigures as well.

The Jazz Club 10312 comes in at 2,899 pieces with 8 new minifigures (Jazz Singer, Bassist, Drummer, Pizza Chef, Pizza Delivery Driver, Club Manager, Tailor, and a Magician) as it highlights for the very first time, a music theme for a modular set of this scale.

First Wave of LEGO Star Wars 2023 Sets Revealed!

LEGO has officially unveiled its first offering of LEGO Star Wars 2023 sets scheduled to be released next month. Calling back to its original trilogy roots, it’s great to see a LEGO rendition of a starship that is a long time coming. And after exactly 20 years since the first LEGO Star Wars TIE Bomber was introduced, a new and larger re-issue of this set is arriving in January.

There are four LEGO Star Wars 2023 sets initially introduced, one of which is a new version of the infamous starfighter of the Galactic Empire and one that fans of the Clone Wars will be glad to have. Another long overdue set, the LEGO Star Wars 501st Clone Troopers Battle Pack will definitely be a hit to fans of the series. Plus the Microfighter subtheme is getting another bump with the exciting addition of Boba Fett’s Slave 1. This is the very first time that we’re seeing the iconic starfighter rendered in brick chibi form.

Here’s a Round-Up of All LEGO 2023 Sets That Were Revealed So Far

This month has been one roller coaster ride of reveals and surprises coming from LEGO. And in case you need to make sense of everything that has been announced so far, here’s a quick overview of all LEGO 2023 sets that are slated to be released by January next year.

From home-grown themes to licensed sets, this initial round of offerings for the first half of 2023 is pretty diverse and has plenty of things to offer to all LEGO fans in general. For your convenience, I also linked these sets to their respective LEGO.com pages so you can quickly find the set that you may want to add to your LEGO wishlist. Those that are still rumored to be part of the LEGO 2023 set ensemble, but are still yet to make their debut are no included in this list. I’ll keep this list up-to-date with any future sets that might be revealed later on.

LEGO Employee Gift 4002022 Celebrates 10 Years of Friendship

It has been customary for The LEGO Group to brighten the season for its employees and active community members (via LAN or LEGO Ambassador Network) with a free LEGO set that is exclusively made for them. Last year, it was Ninjago’s moment to shine with the Temple of Celebrations employee gift. And this time, with only 30,000 copies said to have been released, the LEGO Employee Gift 4002022 – 10 Years of Friendship exclusive focuses on the LEGO Friends theme, and its joyful celebration of a decade of friendship.

The LEGO Employee Gift 4002022 comes in at 1,209 pieces and features the minidoll versions of classic LEGO Friends characters such as Stephanie, Mia, Olivia, Andrea, Emma, and a costumed Santa figure. The set features a colorful fireplace with a touch of LEGO Friends aesthetic. It also features several references to previous LEGO Friends sets in the form of printed(?) tiles and plenty of translucent pieces that serve as a glass-stained decor for the base of the fireplace. On top of the set is a room where the original characters of the theme are gathered for drinks and a little get-together and catching up.

The LEGO Employee Gift is not available commercially or for reselling, however, it can’t be avoided some employees or recipients of this exclusive set throughout the years opted to sell it for parts or for some additional cash to be used throughout the holiday season. But in my case, I will surely be thankful for such a lovely and exclusive set. Any free LEGO is very much welcomed, especially an exclusive such as this.

LEGO Collectible Minifigure Series 24 6 Pack (66733) Arriving Soon!

LEGO.com has been updated once more to now include another tantalizing deal for LEGO CMF collectors. After the confirmation of Series 24’s (71037) release date on January 1, 2023, it is great to hear that LEGO will once more offer a minifigure pack in the likes of the LEGO Collectible Minifigure Series 24 6 Pack (66733).

This latest offering is also similar to what LEGO did with this year’s LEGO CMF The Muppets (71033) when, for the first time ever, it bundled its collectible minifigures into 6-pack boxes. It’s great to see that LEGO seems to be intentional in offering these kinds of bundles moving forward. It’s a cost-effective way of ensuring that you have six characters in your collection right off the bat. I’m not sure though if the blind bags contained in each box have duplicates, or if they consist of entirely different, randomly selected minifigs. In case you grab one, do let us know in the comments below.

In the meantime, we need to wait a couple of weeks more before we can see for ourselves. The LEGO Collectible Minifigure Series 24 6 Pack (66733) is scheduled to be available online and in stores starting January 1, 2023, and is expected to retail for $29.94.

Early Look at LEGO Build-a-Minifigure 2023 Characters

The LEGOLAND Japan Twitter Account gives us an early look at 13 new LEGO Build-a-Minifigure 2023 characters scheduled (or BAM for short) to be available sometime in the first quarter of the next year. As most of you are aware, this unique selection of minifigures is quite different from what LEGO usually offers with its LEGO Collectible Minifigures or CMF. LEGO BAM characters are in-store exclusives and are offered 4 times a year in LEGO brand stores as a strategy to attract more customers.

And thanks to an early reveal by LEGOLAND Japan, we can now see what’s in store in this Q1 offering. Take a look.

I have to say that this LEGO Build-a-Minifigure 2023 series is a pretty impressive collection – with LEGO throwing in plenty of rare accessories, exclusive parts, and even recolored ones. I’m happy to see that there are plenty of costumed minifigures, some of which whose accessories are included in prior CMF series. We have a ship costume, for example, a redesigned crayon costume, a recolored brick suit guy, and even a new strawberry shortcake costume as well. The Panda Suit guy and the blue rabbit accessories also hint that these are designed with the Chinese New Year in mind, with 2023 being the Year of the Rabbit.

There’s no word yet on when they will be exactly available, but our best guess is next month as well, along side LEGO’s January 2023 releases. Whatever is the case, be sure to check with your local LEGO Stores for its upcoming release schedule.

New LEGO Marvel Spidey and His Amazing Friends Sets Revealed!

Younger LEGO and Spidey fans will be glad to know that the 2021 Disney Junior series will now have its very own LEGO sets. Launching next year, the LEGO Marvel Spidey and His Amazing Friends 2023 sets will feature three brick renditions inspired by the animated series, plus a Duplo set that also includes Bootsie the Cat.

The 24-episode series shows a playful rendition of Spidey and his friends from the Spiderverse such as Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy (aka the Ghost Spider). The show also features kid-friendly versions of the Web Crawler’s most notorious nemesis such as Doc Ock, Rhino, Sandman, and the Green Goblin. And similar to other LEGO Disney 2023 tie-in sets slated to be released next month, LEGO will also be giving this Disney Junior series its brick counterparts.
