ICYMI: LEGO Marvel Superheroes Spider-Man Versus Venom and Iron Venom (40454) Revealed

No, this is not an advanced April Fools joke kind of a thing. Because in case you missed it, LEGO Shop@Home has been updated to include a rather quirky minifigure pack inspired by Marvel’s aniverse of Earth-8311. The LEGO Marvel Superheroes Spider-Man Versus Venom and Iron Venom (40454) minifigure pack is slated to arrive in April and comes with a rather interesting set of minifigs.

For the first time ever, it looks Spider-Ham from LEGO Venomosaurus Ambush (76151) has finally met his match in the likes of this minifig version of Pork Grind. Aside from this symbiote-powered hog, this pack also features a Venomized Iron Man with prints that are similar to its counterpart from last year’s Venom Crawler (76163). This set also includes a pair of Spider-Man and Venom minifigures plus a buildable black and white 4-wheel buggy. It comes in at 63 pieces and is expected to retail for $15 once it is available on April 1st.

LEGO Ideas We Love Sports! Contest Crowd Vote Winners Announced

Last month, LEGO Ideas rolled out its list of finalists for its LEGO Ideas We Love Sports! building contest. And following the contest’s fan voting phase, we now have our grand prize winner based on what LEGO fans voted for.

If you recall, the LEGO Ideas We Love Sports! contest has a crowd vote phase where special prizes await the sports-themed LEGO MOC that received the most number of votes from February 15 to 25. And based on this pool of 10 finalists, the LEGO Idea Review Team will select one entry that will go on to become an official LEGO Ideas set, similar to what we have with the Music to Our Ears contest and with its soon-to-arrive LEGO Ideas Legendary Stratocaster. Needless to say, bagging the grand prize for the crowd vote does not guarantee that it will be eventually chosen as the next LEGO Ideas set. But looking at this winners list, I’m really hoping that it will be any of them.

Let’s take a look at this roster of winners starting with the overall grand prize winner.

WATCH: LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh (21326) Designer Video

Now that the LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh (21326) has been officially revealed, LEGO brings us behind the scenes on the creative process that brought us our very first brick-version of this classic A.A. Milne story. LEGO Designer Ilia Gotlib, together with other LEGO graphic and element designers, share their experience in coming up with this nostalgic LEGO set. Watch the video below.

You may also find LEGO’s official press release right after the video. The LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh is now listed at LEGO Shop@Home and is expected to retail for $99.99 once it is made available on March 18 for LEGO VIP members and to the rest of the world of April 1.

RETURN TO THE HUNDRED ACRE WOOD WITH THE NEW LEGO® IDEAS WINNIE THE POOH SET

21326 Prod

4th March 2021: Today, LEGO® is inviting Winnie the Pooh fans to embrace nostalgia and return to the picturesque Hundred Acre Wood with its new LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh set - based on original designs by LEGO builder and superfan Ben Alder. Beneath a large oak tree, complete with beehives and bees, Pooh’s house takes center stage. The house can be opened up to unveil a whole host of furniture and unique items, such as the “Pooh-coo” Clock, box of “Pooh sticks”, Tigger’s locket, and of course, plenty of honey pots – both full and empty!

A. A. Milne’s wonderful tales of Christopher Robin’s adventures have amazed readers of all ages for almost a century and have become even more memorable thanks to the television and film adaptations that have truly brought the characters’ world to life.

LEGO superfan Ben Alder originally submitted the concept to LEGO Ideas; a LEGO initiative that takes new ideas that have been imagined and voted for by fans and turn them into reality. Based on Ben’s original designs, the set is the perfect project for adult builders to take time to relax and return to the halcyon days of youth, recalling the adventures of their favorite bear and his friends.

21326 Back 01

Discussing the design, Ben Alder commented “I love Winnie the Pooh and remember my parents reading it to me as a child. I now read the same Winnie the Pooh stories to my children, so it is certainly something dear to my heart. I decided to make the set so that my children could bring to life our bedtime stories but never quite expected the positive reaction it has received.”

The new set also includes five new molded characters, each with their own accessories. Pooh himself has his red balloon to collect honey from the bees in the branches above, Piglet is wrapped up in his scarf, and Tigger has just moved to the woods with his sack on a stick. Meanwhile, Rabbit has carrots ready for snacking, and Eeyore comes complete with his tail and a removable ribbon.

Other notable inclusions to the set include; a campfire and log for Pooh to think about the things that he discovers, his front door complete with “Mr. Sanders” sign above it, his adorable blue bell to ring the front door, and finally, a signpost to the Hundred Acre Wood to make sure Pooh finds his way home.

LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh

Federico Begher, VP of Global Marketing at The LEGO Group commented, “Winnie the Pooh is a 95-year-old story that is loved globally, so seeing Ben’s design sparked a lot of nostalgia for us all.  Plus, his personal story about how he created the set for his family to play out the lovely Winnie the Pooh stories using LEGO bricks felt like a beautiful combination of family, LEGO bricks, and Winnie the Pooh that we wanted to share with others.

We also had the rare treat of being able to create all-new characters for this LEGO Ideas set. We simply had to see how the line-up of Pooh, Tigger, Rabbit, and Piglet would look like in minifigure shape. As well as creating a brand-new Eeyore figure!

The stories of the Hundred Acre Wood come to life with this set and there are plenty of intricate details for fans of both Disney and LEGO to discover.”

The LEGO Ideas® platform is a LEGO initiative that takes new ideas that have been imagined and voted for by fans and turns them into reality. The LEGO® Ideas Winnie the Pooh set is available directly from LEGO Stores and LEGO.com from 18th March, 2021 for LEGO VIP members, and 1st April 2021 for all.

LEGO fans can now nostalgically return to the classic 100 Acre Wood with the LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh (21326) set. After releasing a teaser on its arrival, LEGO Shop@Home has been updated to include this classic A. A. Milne tale-inspired-set that is fitting for the entire family.

LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh (21326)

The LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh (21326) is the brainchild of LEGO fan designer Ben Alder (aka benlouisa over at LEGO Ideas) that features Pooh’s iconic house beneath the oak tree. His product idea eventually won the support of more than 10,000 LEGO fans and was given the thumbs-up of the LEGO Ideas Review Team to become the next official LEGO Ideas set during the platform’s Second 2019 LEGO Ideas Review Stage.

The build itself opens to reveal the fine details of Pooh bear’s colorful abode, complete with its furniture and other familiar items.  The set also comes with new-for-2021 minifigure versions of Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Rabbit, and Eeyore together with their accessories. I’m glad how these new minifigure characters turned out, with LEGO taking the time to create new, insanely accurate moulds and prints for their headpieces.

LEGO Teases the LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh (21326) Set

LEGO has released a teaser for its next LEGO Ideas set, and I’m sure that a lot of LEGO Disney fans will be very excited about this one. The LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh (21326) is releasing soon, and this teaser says it all.

If you recall, this next LEGO Ideas set is based on the approved product idea by LEGO fan designer benlouisa during the Second 2019 LEGO Ideas Review Stage along with the now-released LEGO Ideas Medieval Blacksmith (21325).

lego ideas winnie the pooh 2
Pooh bear’s minifigure version is all set up and ready to play… but for some reason that red balloon is giving me the chills.

Brief as it may, the 16-second teaser is sufficient enough to assure us that similar to 123 Sesame Street (21324), we can expect several new moulded minifigure heads for this motley crew of 100 Acre Woods residents. Pooh Bear’s minifig head is spot on, as well as those from Piglet, Tigger, Rabbit, and Eeyore. I really can’t put my finger on it, but I think Pooh’s honey pot minifigure accessory also comes in as a new printed element.

LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh
Love the prints on this honey pot.

The LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh (21326) set is expected to come in 1,265 pieces and will retail for 99.99€. Be sure to stay tuned here on our blog site for the official reveal of this next LEGO Ideas set anytime soon.

The LEGO House The Brick Moulding Machine (40502) Exclusive Set Officially Revealed

LEGO has unveiled another LEGO House exclusive earlier today, following the likes of last year’s LEGO House The Wooden Duck (40501). And just like its predecessor, the LEGO House The Brick Moulding Machine (40502) celebrates another piece of LEGO history that highlights the company’s manufacturing process of the iconic brick.

LEGO House The Brick Moulding Machine

For those of you who have already visited the famed House of the Brick in Billund, Denmark, you have probably noticed that this LEGO House The Brick Moulding Machine (40502) set is the replica of the one that is found on the ground floor of the LEGO House. The set comes in a lime green color scheme similar to its larger real-life counterpart and comes at a sizeable 7.4 x 11.4 inches.

The LEGO House The Brick Moulding Machine (40502) comes in at 1,205 pieces and is expected to retail for 599 DK (around $100) starting March 4 when the doors of the LEGO House opens once again to the public. For more information about The LEGO House, you may visit their website right here.

Here’s LEGO’s official press release.

LEGO® House reveals new LEGO House Exclusive product:
40502 – The Brick Moulding Machine

40502 2 40502 3

The newest product in the Limited Edition series of LEGO® House Exclusives is soon to be available at the LEGO House Retail Store in Billund, Denmark.

Ever since the opening of LEGO® House, it has been an important milestone for LEGO House to create exclusive products because we believe they add significantly to the experience of visiting LEGO House – the pinnacle LEGO experience.

The first three exclusive products were the LEGO House Architecture set, the LEGO House Tree of Creativity, and the LEGO House Dinosaurs.

One thing is remaking our iconic models in LEGO House into LEGO sets. But since we also want to tie the LEGO Group and not least the LEGO Group history closely to LEGO House it made a lot of sense for us to introduce this new series that we call: The LEGO House Limited Editions. The Wooden Duck is the first item in the series of LEGO House Limited Editions.

We are now happy to announce the latest product in our Limited Edition series – The Brick Moulding Machine!

The Brick Moulding Machine is representing an era in the history of the LEGO Group going from producing toys in wood into plastic. It is the story about putting all efforts into one focus and leaving your core competencies behind to explore the new possibilities and technologies in producing toys with plastic materials.

The first machine arrived in Billund in 1947 and it took up to four people to manually operate one single machine efficiently.

Today the LEGO Group has around 1,000 moulding machines operating all over the world and one LEGO employee can operate 32 machines. The Billund facility alone produces 1,360 LEGO elements each second from these machines.

In LEGO House guests can experience a real-life moulding machine up close. The green machine is identical to the moulding machines found at the LEGO production sites in Denmark, Hungary, Mexico, and China. The difference, however, is that it has a special custom-made mould designed to only contain six bricks. Standard moulds produce many more bricks.

Did you know?

• The first moulding machine is bought in 1946 after Ole Kirk Kristiansen attended a demonstration of a plastic injection moulding machine at a fair in Copenhagen.

• In 1949 the LEGO® Group’s plastics department manufactures various kinds of toys. Among these are the company’s first plastic bricks, which are marketed under the name “Automatic Binding Bricks”.

• On 28 January 1958 at 1:58 pm, the modern LEGO brick is born when a patent for the unique clutch power is secured.

• In 1960 the second-generation owner, Godtfred Kirk Christiansen decided to put all eggs in one basket and purely focus on the LEGO brick.

• A real-life moulding machine can be found in LEGO House where guests can see it up close. It is identical to the ones in other LEGO production sites but is custom-made to only produce six bricks at a time and run at a slower pace.

• In the 60s and 70s, Godtfred Kirk Christiansen initiated decommissioned moulds to be cast into the concrete foundations of new factories in Billund to prevent them from falling into wrong hands.

• In the History Collection in LEGO House, you can also find decommissioned moulds hiding in the floor for visitors to see.

First Image of LEGO Marvel Shang-Chi Battle at the Ancient Village (76177) Box Art Revealed

It looks like the leaky faucet is at it again. We’re now getting new information from brick street and it seems that we now have our first look at a new LEGO tie-in set that focuses on Marvel Studios’ second MCU film of the year. Check out the box art image of the LEGO Marvel Shang-Chi Battle at the Ancient Village (76177).

Just to be accurate, this particular image was shared over at Instagram and does not feature any confidential watermark, suggesting that this was not lifted from any preliminary catalog. The following image also suggests that it was taken from the set’s actual box art suggesting that the set might be already in the wild, or tucked away in any third-party LEGO reseller warehouse. In any case, if the LEGO brick police should request us to remove this image, we will comply promptly.

As a gentle reminder and in case you are wary of spoilers, you are free to stop that mouse from scrolling down, and you may hit that back button anytime.

And with those things out of the way, check out this first box art image of the LEGO Marvel Shang-Chi Battle at the Ancient Village (76177) set.

lego shang chi 76177

If you recall, Shang-Chi is this year’s second MCU film for the big screen. The movie is slated to be released this July, and seeing this set out in the wild given at this time does not come so much as a surprise. For starters, we already have the LEGO Marvel Black Widow’s Helicopter Chase (76162) released last year, and this is even way before we have the Black Widow film making its theatrical entry this May. So seeing this LEGO Marvel Shang-Chi set at this point is somehow expected.

The Battle at the Ancient Village (76177) set features a dragon in a white and red color scheme, on what seems to be a portal of some kind. The brick-built dragon itself is central to the set and features some of the distinct Asian features of this mythological creature. According to sources, Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi will most likely introduce these mystical creatures in the MCU multiverse including the extraterrestrial villain Fin Fang Foom.

The LEGO Marvel Shang-Chi Battle at the Ancient Village (76177) is rumored to retail for $40 – a pretty steep price considering its modest size. However, it comes with five minifigures which include Shang-Chi, Xialing, Wenwu (or the Mandarin as the legendary leader of the Ten Rings), the enigmatic Death Dealer, and a figure of a still to be revealed creature named Morris.

Since this is out in the wild already, we can cross our fingers and hopefully see this set’s official images anytime soon. Let us know what you think about this set in the comments section below.

LEGO Ideas A Map of Middle-Earth Project Reaches 10,000 Supporters

If winning the support of the LEGO fan community is not enough for the second time, why not earn it for the third time? Such feat is now impressively accomplished by LEGO fan builder and designer Artem Biziaev with his next product idea that managed to earn the support of 10,000+ LEGO fans – the LEGO Ideas A Map of Middle-Earth.

LEGO Ideas A Map of Middle-Earth

If you recall from last week, I reported on the current status of product ideas that have achieved support already over at LEGO Ideas, even if the First 2021 LEGO Review Stage is yet to commence in April. From this listing, we can find that other projects submitted by Artem eventually entered into that elite circle of 10K product ideas, which includes Hyrule Castle (The Legend of Zelda) and Baba Yaga. And now with the inclusion of his LEGO Ideas A Map of Middle-Earth product idea, almost all of his entries virtually advance to the next level.

middle earth 1

The LEGO Ideas A Map of Middle-Earth features a brick-built version of Tolkien’s map of Middle-Earth, highlighting the many different places that were mentioned in the author’s Lord of the Ring trilogy. And much more, doing it in such a way that makes these locations easily recognizable even at a microscale. Mordor’s black, and infamous landscape can easily be recognized in this sort of 3D map (not to mention the wicked, all-seeing eye of Sauron), including The Shire and the kingdom of Erebor. Artem also included a handful of nanofigures of some of the most popular characters in the trilogy, adding a certain play feature to his product idea. You can chart a course for Frodo and  Sam towards the land of Mordor, or you can send Pippin and Merry on a mission to Fangorn Forest.  And of course, I love how this minifigure version of Tolkien turned out with several book accessories representing the Lord of Rings series plus The Hobbit.

middle earth 2

Here’s how Artem Biziaev describes his LEGO creation.

banner middle earth

Hey, Lego fans!
I’m Artem. I really love The Lord of the Rings trilogy. And i’m so excited to show you my little Idea.
Before we start let me ask you: do you know that Minas Morgul is across the river from Minas Tirith? That very close! BOOM! Now you know. And can explore more…
Look at this beautiful Middle Earth Lego map! The legend on your table.
I have placed and signed all the key objects from both trilogies. Now everyone can visually explore the path of the heroes there and back again.
Also here are the pretty travelers microfigures for your convenience.
Put your micro-Frodo and micro-Sam in the Dead Swamps, Pippin and Merry in the Fangorn forest, and everyone else in Helm’s Deep – so you played the events of the Two Towers.
I hope you enjoy my Middle-earth map! 😉
Artem’s LEGO Ideas A Map of Middle-Earth product idea is the 30th project to make it to the next LEGO Ideas review stage. Congratulations and I wish him all the best!
