2018 GWP Minifigure LEGO Party Banana Juice Bar (5005250) Now Purchasable at Shop@Home UK

Last year, the summer seasonal LEGO minifigure, in the old house-shaped box packaging, was the Party Banana Juice Bar (5005250). The guy in the banana suit with boom-box was free with a minimum $35 LEGO purchase in July 2018. Now with summer returning and with stocks of 5005250 still left, selling these off becomes viable.

For LEGO minifigure collectors in the UK, their local Shop@Home has a little treat. They now have the LEGO Party Banana Juice Bar (5005250) aka banana-suit guy for sale. Forget the minimum LEGO purchase. UK shoppers need only pay £4.99 for this back-order seasonal minifigure.

Said line of minifigures, costumed characters in boxes shaped like buildings, is quite possibly phasing out. At least, that’s what may be inferred from the 2019 Easter Seasonal Chicken Skater (853958). Instead of a box-house, this chicken-suited minifig was in a pod. No new boxed seasonal minifigures were announced either.

If so, then any of these collectibles will become highly valuable soon. Replacing boxes with studier pods may be reasonable, but it loses the charm of the uniquely-printed “building packages.” For now, Party Banana Juice Bar (5005250) is available for £4.99 on LEGO Shop@Home UK.

Here’s a First Look at the LEGO Spider-Man: Far From Home Minifigure Pack (40343)

By now we can safely say that the frenzy for Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame has begun to subside, while faithful followers of the MCU franchise now look forward to Spider-Man: Far from Home this July. This sequel to Homecoming is the true final part of Phase 3, and has already gotten plenty of tie-ins coming soon from LEGO. However it’s not all adventurous set-pieces and hi-tech vehicles for LEGO Marvel’s Far from Home. They’ll also have some smaller products that can easily be afforded. Rather than one minifigure though, they have a bunch included in this one. Check out this upcoming LEGO Spider-Man: Far From Home Minifigure Pack (40343).

The first image of this product comes to us courtesy of French LEGO news source Brick Heroes. It’s a 49-piece blister pack with enough minifig components for three characters. With the Far From Home Minifigure Pack (40343) we get Spider-Man, Maria Hill and Peter’s friend Ned. There’re also leftovers to make a drone and accessories.

From what Brick Heroes says, we’ll only get the Maria Hill and Ned minifigs exclusively on this pack. That would make this set a hot commodity for collectors looking to complete the LEGO Spider-Man: Far from Home tie-ins. There’s no word yet on its availability, but the film premieres July 2.

LEGO Teases More About the LEGO Stranger Things The Upside Down (75810) Tie-In Set

There’s no other way to describe it: LEGO has been a teasing teaser that teasingly teases lately. Yes, everybody’s on tenterhooks regarding their upcoming tie-in for Netflix’s Stranger Things, and LEGO sure know how to work build on the excitment with their teaser-filled promotional blitz. Eventually, the teasers are finally giving fans a trail of bread crumbs in deciphering the set’s details. The clincher in this case would have to be LEGO’s recent Instagram post of a familiar vehicle from the show. It’s none other than Mike’s good ‘ol bicycle (rendered in LEGO form), and seemingly stuck in the mysterious Upside Down realm which is already a give away on the set’s official name. The LEGO Stranger Things The Upside Down (75810) is set to be released on May 15, initially available to all LEGO VIP members.

The upcoming LEGO Stranger Things The Upside Down (75810) set has already been revealed to include some of the show’s most noticeable characters such as Dustin and the terrifying Demogorgon. Additionally, it is also rumored that this is the only LEGO licensed set to be released from this theme, so it expected if Stranger Things fans will really look forward to have this one-off set. That’s too bad in my opinion, but if it’ll only be one LEGO tie-in, then it should be all good for all true-blue fans of the show.

We can expect LEGO Stranger Things The Upside Down (75810) set to make its debut at the Leicester Square LEGO Store in London on May 15. The LEGO Store in Flatiron, New York on the other hand, will have its own late-night event slated on the 14^th.

Building Instructions for LEGO Star Wars May the 4th Make & Take, Both Tantive IV and LEGO Australia’s X-Wing

If you recall, during May the Fourth multiple LEGO Stores worldwide held a “Star Wars” Make & Take building event. The subject was a miniature version of the new hot set the Tantive IV (75244). We mentioned that the building instructions for these will appear eventually. Guess what: they did.

Our fellow LEGO news source Brick Fanatics actually put up the official instructions day after May the Fourth. Now, LEGO Star Wars fans that couldn’t get to the Make & Take at participating LEGO Stores can build the micro-Tantive themselves. But it turns out not all LEGO Stores offered that.

Over down under, LEGO Australia had their own Make & Take event during May the Fourth last week. Rather than Princess Leia’s blockade runner, the subject was another famous Rebel spacecraft. This was shared by “Star Wars” news site Rebelscum. Aussie fans instead got to make the more-iconic X-Wing fighter.

Now, the Make & Take event held by LEGO Australia had provision for only 100 participants. Luckily Rebelscum managed to acquire the official building instructions. Like Brick Fanatics did with the mini-Tantive IV, Rebelscum have now shared their find online.

It might take some hunting down of the specific parts needed (plus online retail scrounging if necessary). The result will be a nice mini-build of the X-Wing with S-foils locked in attack position; Happy building.

Revisit “The Goblet of Fire” with Two More Newly-Revealed LEGO Harry Potter Summer 2019 Sets

There are so many LEGO sets being announced this summer that it can be daunting to track them all. Luckily you’ve got us to help you keep tabs. This one’s for LEGO Harry Potter fans. Remember the summer sets revealed last April? It turns out there’s still more coming up.

For a change, our source for the official images of these new LEGO Harry Potter sets’ a dedicated Potter-site. MuggleNet shared these sweet photos of more Potter-goodness in LEGO form. Similar to the other announced sets, these depict iconic scenes from the films. This time, it’s “The Goblet of Fire.”

Both sets are due for August according to LEGO. That slots them in between some of the earlier-announced sets, which also includes the 2019 LEGO-Potter advent calendar (75964), due September.

Tease Some More: LEGO Stranger Things Previews Just Keep Coming Ahead of Launch

As the 15^th of May comes ever closer, things have been getting even Stranger. LEGO Stranger Things is the hot new upcoming licensed franchise for LEGO. It stands to reason that it’ll get a lot of attention in terms of promotion. Following the announcement of details for its London launch, LEGO now reveals how this will go in New York.

Lest you forget, ahead of the midnight launch of LEGO Stranger Things at the Leicester Square Store, its NY counterpart at Flatiron will have a late-night event of its own on the 14^th. There’s also a new teaser on Twitter.

Rather than a mockup of an ostensibly 1980s LEGO commercial this teaser references a memorable still-life scene from Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” but rendered in LEGO. If you need help, the Morse-code caption reads “Coming/SE/Soon.” With that, we’ll now discuss what new details the Flatiron District LEGO Store has for getting the LEGO Stranger Things set.

We already know the event schedule of 9 to 11 PM (EDT) on May 14. Aside from being able to buy the new set, guests can participate in a “special building experience.” A LEGO mural is also on hand for selfies. Participants will also have refreshments while they hang out with fellow “Stranger Things” fans.

About the only thing the NY launch event lacks is the opportunity to have their LEGO Stranger Things sets signed. The lead designer’s over in Leicester Square. Oh well, at least the US is getting the hot new set early.

LEGOLAND Windsor Depicts Royal Baby Presentation, with Free Admission to Guests Named “Archie”

LEGOLAND Windsor, the LEGOLAND resort for the UK, has been something of a brick-built crier for important Royalty-centered events. Its Miniland area contains brick-built scale replicas of the British Royal residences, including nearby Windsor Castle. Thus the displays get constantly updated for all important occasions.

We covered when the LEGOLAND Windsor building teams interpreted the 2018 birth of Prince Louis to Prince William and Kate. The same went for the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle that same year. Now, the builders have completed their latest Miniland Windsor Castle update for guest viewing.

Outside the brick castle are Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex. With them is the latest addition to the British Royal Family: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. It’s in his honor that the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort is throwing its most generous guest promotion yet.

Is your name “Archie” like Archie Harrison? Then LEGO Windsor will gladly allow you free admission to the resort. Guests named Archie need only present proof of their identity with the name. It also has to be “Archie” and not its variants like the full form “Archibald” for example. This magnanimous promo from LEGOLAND Windsor will last until July 12.

LEGOLAND Windsor lead model-maker Paula Laughton remarks that their constant special renovations to their Miniland build of Windsor Castle was simply their resort’s signature LEGO way of sharing celebrating news from their “Royal Neighbors.” “Our guests love to spot our new models in Miniland and we can’t wait to see what they think of our latest royal addition,” Laughton said.

LEGO BrickHeadz Statue of Liberty (40367) Images Released

It looks like there are more reasons to celebrate the 4th of July for LEGO fans in the US. As we know by now, the LEGO BrickHeadz theme is still going strong this year, especially with the introduction of its new line of 2019 seasonal sets. Thanks to Promobricks, we now have our first look at some of the official images of the latest LEGO BrickHeadz Statue of Liberty (40367).

FYI, hints of this new BrickHeadz set was first spotted on German LEGO retailer website, Brickmerge, where the LEGO BrickHeadz Statue of Liberty (40367) set is listed, coming in at 153 pieces. Like other BrickHeadz sets, this will most likely retail for $9.99 USD. However, what could be the main selling point of this set for LEGO fans is the fact that it mostly consist of those highly desired Sand Green pieces. Few LEGO sets feature this particular color such as its larger counterpart LEGO Architecture Statue of Liberty (21042), the LEGO Movie 2 Welcome to Apocalypseburg (70840) and the LEGO Minecraft Ocean Monument (21136).

Unfortunately, there are some rumors going around that this latest set will also be a regional exclusive, only to be available in the US in time of the 4th of July celebrations. There’s hope though since we have recently seen how LEGO ruled in favor of LEGO fans with regards to the availability of certain regional exclusives. So there is still a chance for avid completionists outside of the US to have their own LEGO BrickHeadz Statue of Liberty (40367) set after 3 to 6 months. We just have to wait and see if LEGO will follow through on its promise.

Signing Event for LEGO Stranger Things Sets Slated Next Week

LEGO Stranger Things: to say that is both weird and exciting as one thinks of the possibilities. The hit Netflix series is both a 1980s nostalgia trip and a scary cool coming-of-age story. It also becomes perhaps one of LEGO’s big-boy (age-wise) licensed franchises alongside LEGO Overwatch and the like. After building a foundation of anticipation with their first teases, LEGO is now ready to promote their LEGO Stranger Things sets. It’s no longer a secret that the theme will launch next week at the Leicester Square LEGO Store. New details have popped up about it though, as updated on the LEGO events page on Facebook.

For starters, not only will the LEGO Stranger Things line be introduced there at London, there will be autographs signed. By that we mean Leicester LEGO Store buyers of the new set can meet their lead designer, Justin Ramden. He’ll be on hand to sign.

One more thing: there will be a suggested dress theme for Londoner guests appearing at the product launch. As if you don’t know, it’ll be an Eighties party there on the 15^th, with “tubular” refreshments on hand for all comers.

Collectors should save £179.99 for this LEGO Strangers set. Furthermore, only 400 participants will be able to buy the set at Leicester Square on launch day. Lastly, each buyer can only have two sets max per purchase, to leave enough for everyone on that day. With that, we’ll leave you with this curious “80’s era” LEGO commercial that we think is part of the promotion.

Possible LEGO Trolls Movie Tie-In Sets Teased for 2020

It’s always awesome when two companies from the same country collaborate on one effort or other. LEGO isn’t the only classic toy to come from Denmark, you see. In the 1960s another Danish woodworker, Thomas Dam, created the iconic troll doll. It became a recurring toy fad throughout the decades, and is now currently under DreamWorks. And that’s why DreamWorks released the “Trolls” movie in 2016. It was popular enough that it got a sequel green-light. “Trolls World Tour” is expected to premiere next year. And it looks like this Danish-originating toy line is teaming up with LEGO for a bunch of LEGO Trolls movie tie-in sets.

This much could be inferred from a recent Twitter post by LEGO. It showed a minifigure from the shoulders down, wearing a tag with the movie title. They captioned the image with “It’s all glitter and happiness,” two taglines long associated with the Trolls line.

The question of how DreamWorks Trolls will be interpreted in LEGO is quite interesting. Troll dolls are famous for their furry up-combed hair. Could we be having minifigure heads with Troll hair wisps on the scalps? That’s an intriguing possibility.

It should be recalled that the original DreamWorks “Trolls” movie in 2016 got an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. One has to wonder how “Trolls World Tour” will try to match or top that. In any case, this is a wonderful instance of Danish toy brand power, and one we hope could happen again. “Trolls World Tour” premieres 2020.

From the looks of it, it seems that LEGO is looking forward to expand its licensed themes following its recent tease of the LEGO Stranger Things line. Though we may not always agree with LEGO on its choice of what particular pop culture reference it would like to immortalize on plastic, we can be quite sure that LEGO will always bring out the best from these themes.
