While Star Wars fans are gearing up for the grandest fan event in the galaxy with Star Wars Celebration 2019, LEGO as it seems will not miss this opportunity to launch its newest LEGO Star Wars set. Similar to the release of 2017’s mammoth sized LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon (75192), LEGO is slated to release a special set that takes its cue from one of the first rebel ships that appeared in the film franchise. A redesigned set from 2009, the LEGO Star Wars Tantive IV (75244) has now been revealed, with the first image of its box art now making its round over the internet and said to be released just in time for the May the 4th fan fare.
There is no official announcement from LEGO as of this posting, but from what we can surmise, the LEGO Star Wars Tantive IV (75244) will come in 1,768 pieces and comes with new minifigures of Leia and Bail Organa, Captain Antilles, a Rebel Trooper, C-3PO and R2-D2. It is expected to retail for $199.99 USD. Though it is not expected to be a sort of UCS or a Master Builder set as shared by Promobricks, but is a good catch otherwise considering that the last time this iconic ship was given the LEGO treatment was 10 years ago.

Let nobody doubt LEGO’s mad skills in promoting major films, especially if their IPs were licensed for making tie-in sets. LEGO Porgs in London for “The Last Jedi” in 2017 is an example. Recently they’ve started work on brick-built promo exhibits for “Avengers: Endgame.” The Captain Marvel statue’s pretty cool.
But this “Endgame” promotion in China might top even that. In a Shanghai commercial complex at Nanjing East Road, LEGO-built masks of the Avengers are on display. The big draw is that the character faces are designed to resemble traditional Chinese Opera masks. Now that’s effectively engaging the Chinese market.
This is the brainchild of Prince Jiang, a LEGO Certified Professional from China. He depicts the first six original Avengers in the MCU movies: Hawkeye, Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk and Black Widow. Each Avenger mask is 1.3 meters tall and 1.1 meters wide. Prince Jiang divided a total of 600,000 LEGO pieces between the six masks on display.
Shoppers and tourists along Nanjing East Road can see the “Avengers: Endgame” Chinese-Opera promo display there until the movie premieres in China. Elsewhere, the film will arrive in the US on April 26. LEGO’s tie-ins are already on sale and the promotional set Avengers Tower (40344) is now gift-with-purchase ready.
We at The Brick Show and all our fellow LEGO news sources have already shared that this year marks 20 years of LEGO Stars Wars. But when exactly does this anniversary of one of LEGO’s hottest product lines fall? It happened this week, April 9.
This past Tuesday, LEGO kicked off a milestone celebration of their IP franchise partnership, which eventually became one of their bestselling product lines. With over 700 sets released and more than a thousand different individual minifigures too, this is a big celebration. We’ve already seen an earlier beginning to the 20th Anniversary craze with their anniversary-edition LEGO Star Wars sets.
“LEGO play and Star Wars is a dream collaboration for us,” says LEGO Star Wars Creative Director Jens Kronvold Frederiksen. “This 20-year milestone is really a dedication and testimony to our loyal fans who have built, reimagined, battled and shared their LEGO Star Wars adventures with us for two decades.”
Speaking on behalf of Lucasfilm, Licensing VP Derek Stothard answers, “Our collaboration with the LEGO Group remains a huge success because it allows people to explore the Star Wars galaxy in a very unique way. Whether you’re meticulously building the Millennium Falcon for a display shelf or reimagining the battles with LEGO Star Wars models, the LEGO Star Wars range allows us to engage with fans of all ages who find the Star Wars galaxy as special as we do.”
As part of their official press release commemorating two decades of LEGO Star Wars, LEGO released some great promotional images containing factoids about the popular product line over the years. Here we have a sample:
We knew tie-in sets for Disney-Pixar’s “Toy Story 4” were coming as far back as last year. In February we even got to see the first images of them. The previews showed some simple sets geared for young builders. But those were only the first wave, with the next products actually released without much fanfare.
Two additional LEGO Disney “Toy Story 4” tie-in sets recently were found already available on retail. The discovery was made at a Target store by LEGO-fan YouTuber Just2Good. Both sets are of the 4+ designation. Still, while basic in construction they offer lots of features.
First on the reveals is Duke Caboom’s Stunt Show (10767). This set features a motorcycle stunt spectacle featuring Evel Knievel expy Duke Caboom, with Woody a reluctant hanger-on. It features a ramp, two parked obstacle cars, ring of fire, a promo board, and a motorcycle ridden by Duke Caboom and Woody for the big jump.
Next we have the Buzz and Bo Peep’s Playground Adventure (10768). It features a nice playground gym build with climbing wall, ladder bridge, slide, a go-kart and merry-go-round. Aside from minifigs of Buzz Lightyear and the missing Bo Peep, they’re also joined by the warm yet sinister talking doll Gabby-Gabby.
The Target store pricing for 10767 is $19.99 while the larger set 10768 is $24.99 instead. Just2Good hasn’t shared any further info regarding where else these nice “Toy Story 4” LEGO sets might be found. Still, Target’s a good place to start looking for them.

Normally when we hear about LEGO “gift-with-purchase” promotions, we think of little polybags or small box sets. But once in a while they throw in something big too. Last month a LEGO Store flyer from Spain revealed a LEGO Marvel Avengers Tower set (40334). It too was labeled a gift-with-purchase.
It needs to be said that more recent LEGO promotions are more difficult to pin down due to LEGO Store Calendars no longer listing them. Weeks have passed since the flyer reveal without word on the promo that’ll give away the Avengers Tower (40334). Last weekend, we wondered no more.
For a brief time on the Offers and Promotions page over at Shop@Home, LEGO spilled the beans on the promo details for Avengers Tower (40334). It can be gotten at a minimum $75 total purchase in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes products. The promo period will run from April 19-May 2.
The Avengers Tower set (40334) is a nifty micro-scale built of the former New York Avengers HQ as seen in the MCU. It comes with a micro Quinjet model (suspended by clear parts on the tower launch-pad) as well as an Iron Man minifigure with removable helmet. Its approximate price value is at $19.99 stateside.
Getting the minimum $75 LEGO Marvel set purchase to avail this promo should be easy. There’s rumor that the official tie-ins for July’s “Spider-Man: Far from Home” might release April 22. That should provide enough new-set fodder to spend big.
The LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary New Edition 2019 has been finally listed over at Amazon and is now made available to the general public.
As LEGO is a constantly evolving toy line, many reference materials produced in partnership with publishing companies need updating now and then. For instance, the LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary from Dorling-Kindersley UK first arrived in 2009 and received only an expansion in 2014. That promise has finally come.
Here’s What to Expect from the LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary New Edition 2019
It’s just like companies working on products and merchandise related to a major IP to time their releases during a significant milestone. DK Publishing has just released the new and updated LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary New Edition 2019, just in time for the LEGO Star Wars 20th Anniversary. Amazon has the hardcover reference book listed, and major bookstores carrying LEGO books should already be stocking it on shelves.
We probably didn’t forget but just in case: like most other LEGO books from DK and several other partner publishers, this visual dictionary comes with a bonus exclusive minifigure. Revealed this February, we know it’s going to be Finn in his Bacta Tank suit from Episode VIII – The Last Jedi.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe will come to an ending that’s been ten years in the making this month. Fans of the franchise and Marvel superheroes can catch that this April 26 when “Avengers: Endgame” premieres. Merchandising partners such as LEGO have already begun releasing their tie-in products. But leave it to LEGO to do extra.
In what’s undoubtedly another contribution to promoting the upcoming MCU movie, the longest running-time of all series so far. LEGO designers have constructed a brick-built statue of one of the heroes involved. It’s none other than Captain Marvel, the superhuman cosmic champion lead character of her own film last month, and the most powerful good guy in the franchise yet.
With possibly all the LEGO-piece resources they could need, LEGO’s pro builders used 17,661 of them over the course of around 165 hours to assemble the brick statue. They even went the extra mile to match the physical dimensions to the character’s actress Brie Larson.
Upon completion, LEGO’s brick-built Captain Marvel statue matched Larson’s height of 5 feet seven inches. The design team even included an Avengers logo for background, making the figure a prime photo-op opportunity for MCU fans.
LEGO hasn’t quite revealed yet where this sweet build will be located for promotional purposes. It’s also possible that it could be located away from an obvious spot like a cinema. The Porg promotional statues during “The Last Jedi” were scattered in London, for example.
“Avengers: Endgame” arrives at last in theaters on April 26.
Refresh. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the LEGO Star Wars product line, just as the final segment of the Sequel film trilogy and the Skywalker family saga concludes with “Episode IX.” The two decades of LEGO making “Star Wars” sets might be overshadowed by other celebration developments, if not for their latest offerings.
We got a good look at these sets months ago, both of the “new for 2019” variety and the special 20th Anniversary Collection. After weeks of waiting they’re now listed as available on LEGO Shop@Home. It’s shaping up to be another great year for LEGO Star Wars collectors, tiding the excitement until “Episode IX” releases.
As you already know, LEGO Shop@Home already has the tie-ins for MCU’s “Avengers: Endgame” movie listed. Those awesome vehicle and action sets have long had their official images pored over by fans for hints to the movie’s plot. And now they can finally get these sets in the flesh plastic.
But the added listing of the “Endgame” tie-ins isn’t just with Shop@Home, but on all prominent LEGO/toy retail platforms. In particular, Target not only has them online, two of these sets actually have discounts. This is probably one of the earliest sales Target has done for new LEGO sets available for less than a week.
First it was the LEGO Avengers: Endgame War Machine Buster (76124). Then it was followed by the Iron Man Hall of Armor (76125). Third is the Avengers Ultimate Quinjet (76126) that’s a bit mislabeled. These three sets have their prices shaved on Target’s online platform.
To compare, Amazon is offering the War Machine Buster (76124) for $27.99 (to Shop@Home’s $34.99); Hall of Armor (76125) for $47.99 ($59.99); and Ultimate Quinjet (76126, which Target says is a “Spider-Man: Homecoming” tie-in) is at $63.99 to the official price of $79.99 on Shop@Home. Only Target’s Captain America: Outriders Attack (76123) and Avengers Compound Battle (76131) listings are unchanged.
Now that you know, you have a choice on whether to buy full-price from LEGO Shop@Home or discounted on Target (at least the three above). If with the former, at least Ultimate Quinjet (76126) and Avengers Compound Battle (76131) have double-VIP points all April. You decide which bonus is better.
March is nearly done, and come April we’ll be in the endgame. By that we mean Marvel’s “Avengers: Endgame” which will conclude the first 10 years of the MCU franchise. Merchandise-wise, we already know that LEGO has tie-in sets coming for the movie, spoiled earlier this month by Amazon Germany.
The Amazon listing said the LEGO Avengers: Endgame sets will be released April 1. We can now confirm that neither them nor LEGO is pulling an April Fools’. At the start of the month, they will be available. And now LEGO’s giving us the official low-down on their “Endgame” sets.
