The LEGO BrickHeadz theme had its share of ups and downs since its debut three years ago, and it looks like it’s on its way for another comeback in 2020. Thanks to the eagle-eyed scouts of Star Wars fan site Rebelscum, we are now convinced that a LEGO BrickHeadz Jabba the Hut and Salacious Crumb (75232) set is now on its way.
Rebelscum gathered the pieces of evidence to see if they point to this possibility, starting with third-party retailer Amazon France. Now it can be argued that this particular listing does not really say or hint anything about the famed Hutt crime lord coming to the LEGO BrickHeadz theme. However, a closer look at the set’s piece count (coming in at 240 pieces) and box dimensions (19.1 x 14.1 x 7.1 cm) suggest that this upcoming LEGO BrickHeadz set will be a dual pack, similar to what LEGO released in the past. Prominent twin-packs in the Star Wars subtheme of the LEGO BrickHeadz line include the Boba Fett and Han Solo in Carbonite (41498) set released as an SDCC 2017 exclusive, and the Luke Skywalker and Yoda (41627) released last year.
And on what could be the most convincing piece of evidence that suggests that a LEGO BrickHeadz Jabba the Hut and Salacious Crumb (75232) set is happening is from the theme’s lead LEGO designer himself, Marcos Bessa. In an interview at the LEGO Innovation House in May last year, Marcos made mention of “a certain lizard creature-ish bad guy” was in the works at that time. Eventually, challenges on how to re-create its “weird form” which is quite the “opposite of the proportions of what the Brickheadz are,” have now been hurdled. I know this slight reveal is unintentional on the part of Marcos, but considering the specific details that he gave back then, I couldn’t help but think of Jabba as the most likely candidate.
Whatever is the case the LEGO BrickHeadz theme is still holding on, and with more licensed names poised to be included in its ever-growing line, I wouldn’t mind if a LEGO BrickHeadz Jabba the Hut and Salacious Crumb (75232) set will be added to the mix. For the meantime, be sure the check out the rest of the LEGO BrickHeadz currently available at LEGO Shop@Home.
Special thanks to Rui Miguel Anacleto for these cool LEGO BrickHeadz MOC digital renders of Jabba and Crumb. For more outstanding LEGO Star Wars MOCs, be sure to check out Rui’s Flickr page.
San Diego Comic-Con 2019 is fast approaching and with the recent reveal of the LEGO Star Wars Sith Trooper Bust (77901), LEGO and Lucasfilms have lifted the veil for yet another evolution of the terrifyingly efficient footsoldier of the Star Wars franchise. And just in time for next week’s SDCC’s celebration, LEGO pays tribute to this new Star Wars character in the most glorious way possible: in LEGO bricks of course. This life-sized LEGO Star Wars Sith Trooper statue will be displayed at the LEGO Booth during SDCC to greet the throngs of fans who will flock grandest comic book convention on the face of the planet.
This brick-built, Sith Trooper statue is a life-sized creation made up of 34,307 LEGO pieces, weighs almost 80 kilos and stands at 6 feet 2 inches tall. With a total of 250 hours of design and building time under its belt, this recent LEGO masterpiece is a sight to behold. This new version of the First Order Stormtrooper comes in a very intimidating red color scheme which reminds me of the Elite Praetorian Guards seen in The Last Jedi.
If you recall from last year’s SDCC and those prior to it, it has been a tradition for LEGO to release such brick-built statues which also acts as a marketing tool to promote upcoming films and TV series. We saw the magnificent brick statue of Thanos striking a pose while wielding the Infinity Gauntlet. The latest incarnation of Doctor Who that also received the LEGO treatment in last year’s SDCC with her very own brick-built statue and Ultrakatty which looks surprisingly intimidating in her battle mode just in time for The LEGO Movie 2 promotions.
Since LEGO usually reveals two or three brick statues of this kind during San Diego Comic-Con, we can somehow expect that there are still more to come as we count the days before SDCC. Be sure to subscribe to our blog site for more news updates on LEGO @SDCC 2019. For now, check out this speed build of the LEGO Star Wars Sith Trooper statue as shared by Yahoo! News.
Another LEGO SDCC 2019 exclusive has just been revealed, and just in time for another Star Wars Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker character teaser. The LEGO Star Wars Sith Trooper Bust (77901) is the next 2019 San Diego Comic Con exclusive to be offered to attendees following the Dark Knight of Gotham City (77903) and Captain Marvel and the Asis (77902) sets.
Revealed by LEGO via social media, this latest LEGO SDCC 2019 exclusive comes in at 484 pieces and will retail for $45 USD, available for purchase to all San Diego Comic-Con attendees via electronic raffle. This set takes its cue from the latest evolution of the Stormtrooper which will make its debut in December once Star Wars EpisodeIX hits theaters.
What is interesting about this set is also the fact that it claims to be an Early Release Edition, hinting on the possibility that later, non-exclusive releases of this set will be available to the general public. I have to applaud LEGO for this move if such is the case since for a long time, LEGO fans are clamoring for access to this event and regional exclusive sets.
In addition to the new LEGO Marvel Avengers Hulk Helicopter Drop (76144) that LEGO will showcase at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the company has revealed two new 2020 LEGO Star Wars sets that will also be displayed at the event. It looks like LEGO will be throwing in a pair of new sets that calls back on some of the most memorable opening scenes from the very first Star Wars movie ever made: Episode IV: A New Hope.
Both sets render these opening scenes as we fondly remember them. The first one being Obi-Wan’s Hut (75270) which comes in at 200 pieces, and features minifigures of Obi-Wan, Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, and a Tusken Raider. Unique to this set is a new microfigure of Princess Leia’s hologram which she used to send a distress signal to Obi-Wan.
The second set is another classic call back with Luke Skywalker’s Landspeeder (75271). To be frank, this is the fourth Star Wars Luke Landspeeder that LEGO has released over the years since the theme’s inception in 1999. So for some, this may no longer come as a surprise. However, this new set boasts of having more details than its predecessors and also features the minifig versions of Luke with a new blaster rifle clip, C-3PO, and a Jawa with his buildable cave hideout.
Read on for the rest of the product descriptions for these new 2020 LEGO Star Wars sets, both of which will be available to the public starting January 1 next year. If you’re happening to drop by at SDCC from July 18 to 21, then be sure to check out these sets to be displayed at the LEGO Booth. Thanks to The Brothers Brick for the tip.

These are definitely the LEGO Star Wars droids that you are looking for. After their official reveal in May, and its subsequent listing at LEGO Shop@Home, LEGO uploaded a designer video to celebrate the release of its LEGO Star Wars BOOST Droid Commander (75253) set. The video features an interview with one of their Senior Designer, Carl Merriam, and Steve Geist LEGO’s Senior UX Designer. Watch and listen to what they have to say about this latest LEGO STEM-inspired set.
The video underscores some of the cool features of this latest robotics-powered set. The LEGO Star Wars BOOST Droid Commander (75253) comes in at 1,177 pieces right out of the box to build three of the most iconic droids in Star Wars fandom. However, do take note that the set only contains one Move Hub which allows only one droid to be powered up. If you wish to animate all of these droids, then you have to purchase additional Bluetooth-powered Move Hubs separately.
One of the advantages of working (and playing) with the LEGO Boost system is that it introduces young kids to coding and robotics very much the same with its LEGO Mindstorms counterpart. With over 40 exciting missions, young builders get to solve LEGO Star Wars puzzles while learning the rudiments of computer programming. The BOOST Droid Commander is currently listed and available at shop.LEGO.com and retails for $200 USD. Check out the rest of the set’s details below.

During this month’s Father’s Day celebration, Toys R Us stores across Canada made this day extra special for AFOL dads through a LEGO Make and Take promotional. The freebie is an impressive 52-piece microscaled model of the iconic LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Trench Run.
However, if you’re not living in the Canadian region and you wish to try making your own remarkable microscaled model of this famous Star Wars scene, then fret not. Thanks to Instagram user officejedi who shared some images of this build’s parts and finished build, we now have an idea on how this can be built using the LEGO pieces that may just be lying at our home.
But in case you find it hard to make sense out of this chaos of LEGO pieces, then you’ll be glad to know that the good ‘ol builders over at Rebrickablehave reversed engineered this set and has now provided the building instructions and parts list in creating this LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Trench Run microscale build. You may access and download the pdf file for these instructions right here. Alternatively, you may view these instructions below. These parts are pretty common so you can easily build this classic, micro X-Wing with parts that you may already have.
After the official reveal of the LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga video game a couple of days ago, LEGO has finally given us a glimpse of the minifig version of their newest droid in town. We’re still 6 months away from the release of the last film installment in the 9-part Star Wars Skywalker saga, but this doesn’t stop LEGO from showing us the cutest droid that will follow the likes of BB-8 and R2-D2. From the way it seems, it definitely shows that the new LEGO Star Wars D-0 will be taking brick fans by storm.
D-0 from Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker as revealed during Star Wars Celebration 2019.
D-0 made his first appearance alongside BB-8 in the teaser trailer for Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker released last April. He then made his first live, public appearance at this year’s Star Wars Celebration held in Chicago. We can very much expect that D-0 will be included in the next wave of LEGO Star Wars tie-in sets later on. Check out the following video where this latest droid is introduced to throngs of Star Wars fans.
Similar to BB-8, this LEGO version of D-0 also comes in as a single-mold minifigure. Though I feel that this video game version of D-0 is closer to his intended LEGO form, the actual minifig may have slight variations, the same way BB-8 appears in many LEGO Star Wars sets. Needless to say, I’m excited to see how this new droid will fare once additional info comes out about the LEGO Star Wars Rise of Skywalker sets sometime in August or September.
For the meantime, I would like to share this excellent LEGO Star Wars D-0 MOC created by hachiroku24. He was even kind enough to share at his YouTube channel how he built this awesome creation, including the LEGO pieces that he used. Check out his video below.
