First Look at the LEGO Movie 2 Emmet’s Builder Box (70832) and Lucy’s Builder Box (70833)

After spotting the names of some new, and upcoming LEGO Movie 2 sets over at a Polish online retailer website, we now have a first look at two additional tie-in sets: the LEGO Movie 2 Emmet’s Builder Box (70832) and Lucy’s Builder Box (70833). These new sets were spotted over at eBay by Minifigure Price Guide, with both sets featuring a nifty toolbox design.

The LEGO Movie 2 Emmet’s Builder Box (70832) comes in at 125 pieces and allows you to create multiple minibuilds such as a facade of Emmet’s home, a bulldozer and a mini-version of Emmet’s Construct-o-Mech (70814) from the first LEGO Movie. The set also includes an Emmet minifigure and a Duplon figure made up of Duplo bricks.

Lucy’s Builder Box (70833) on the other hand features Lucy and Unikitty, and several mini builds as well. It includes a mini concert stage, a motorbike and ramp, and somewhat of a play area for Unikitty. This set comes in 141 pieces and as mentioned, includes a new Lucy minifigure and the usual brick-built figure of Unikitty.

Since these images have already popped-up on eBay and are now being sold over at the secondary market, we can somehow expect that other LEGO Movie 2 sets might already be out there particularly with other retailers. We can also expect that more info (and hopefully more official images) will come in towards the end of the year especially by January. LEGO has already revved up promotions with the reveal of additional characters like Rex Dangervest (voiced also by Chris Pratt) and the brick-built Watevra Wa’nabi (voiced by Tiffany Haddish). The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is slated to hit US theaters on February 8, 2019.

LEGO Movie 2 Character Posters Released Online

The LEGO Movie 2 official social media channels have uploaded a nice collection of character posters to speed up marketing efforts for the sequel. After actor Chris Pratt (the voice behind Emmet) revealed the physical minifigure counterpart of Rex Dangervest and announcing the scheduled live stream of the film’s next big trailer, we now have our first wave of LEGO Movie 2 character posters that gives us a glimpse on some of the new personalities that will grace the sequel.

Take a look at the following posters of some of the returning, and new characters of The LEGO Movie 2 such as Rex Dangervest and Queen Watevra Wa’nabi. My only complaint is that Benny is seriously missing out from the limelight. He is rumored to have a new robotic arm by the way, so probably LEGO is still putting a tight lid on these new developments. The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is slated to hit US theaters on February 8, 2019.

Chris Pratt Reveals New LEGO Rex Dangervest Minifigure

It looks like the LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is getting a marketing boost now that we’re just a couple of months away from the film’s debut. After the reveal of more additional names in the LEGO Movie 2 tie-in repertoire, we now have actor Chris Pratt taking a hand (pun intended) in revealing the new LEGO Rex Dangervest minifigure.

Shared via social media, Chris gave us a glimpse on one of the first physical minifigure that will accompany Emmet, Lucy and the rest of the Bricksburg gang. In his usual comic antic, he also revealed that a new LEGO Movie 2 trailer will be streamed over the Internet tomorrow Tuesday at 11AM (EST). The LEGO Movie 2’s official Facebook page has also set a reminder for its next big trailer, so you may want to turn on your notifications for that.

What do you think about this new LEGO Rex Dangervest minifigure? What new adventures will this newest character bring in the lives of our brick heroes? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

LEGO Duplo My First Minnie Build (10897) Revealed

LEGO has done its fair share of experimentation and development in the creation of several lines of humanoid figures constructed from LEGO bricks. There was the buildable figure line used in LEGO Star Wars for example, which has been discontinued. Then there’s the BrickHeadz line, rumored to also be on the verge of being axed. And now, LEGO is introducing the buildable figure concept to its Duplo line, in the form of what might be called “My First Build”. That could be inferred from the name of the first Duplo figure set revealed via Amazon Italy: the LEGO Duplo My First Minnie Build (10897) which features a Minnie Mouse brick-built figure.

From the boxed product preview, thanks to transparent packaging, we can see that the LEGO Duplo My First Minnie Build (10897) is a simple, straightforward build that features a head, ribbon, torso, hips and leg pieces to complete a basic Minnie Mouse figure. And apparently it also contains alternative colored pieces to change up how the Duplo Minnie would look.

From what information we could gather, the LEGO Duplo My First Minnie Build set (10897) will be released either at year’s end or early 2019, meaning it’ll be coming late to the current 90th anniversary celebration of Mickey Mouse in Disney. Still, it would make for an interesting set to collect.

More LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part Set Names Revealed

Not so long ago, LEGO revealed some of the sets releasing next year in time to tie in with the premiere of The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part. Next, Amazon France revealed the set numbers of the other tie-ins. Now at least, we can put names to them also.

Our fellow LEGO news source The Brick Fan caught wind of a LEGO price comparison website from Poland that not only lists the LEGO Movie 2 tie-in sets from Amazon France, it includes Polish names for them as well. Check out their rough English translations below:

  1. Warsztat Emmeta i Benka/Emmet and Benny’s Workshop (70821)
  2. Najlepsi przyjaciele Kici Rożek/Unikitty’s Best Friends (70822)
  3. Trójkołowiec Emmeta/Emmet’s Tricycle (70823)
  4. Terenówka Rexa/Rex Roadster (70826)
  5. UltraKocia i Lucy Wojowniczka/Ultrakatty & Warrior Lucy! (70827)
  6. Emmet and Lucy’s Escape Buggy (70829) – already in English
  7. Sweet Mayhem’s Systar Starship! (70830) – already in English
  8. Emmet’s Builder Box! (70832) – already in English
  9. Lucy’s Builder Box! (70833) – already in English
  10. Kosmiczna drużyna Benka/Benny’s Space Team (70841)

Another interesting fact is that the Polish listing includes a LEGO Duplo tie-in for the movie – Goście z planety Duplo u Emmeta/Planet Duplo Guests and Emmet (10895), which has the extra-large Duplo bricks but with regular LEGO minifigures included.

As for the rest, we hope to get some official LEGO update soon that would confirm the names. And there’s still several LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part sets known only by numbers thus far. Hopefully they’ll get identified sometime soon too.

Designer Video for LEGO Creator Expert Vestas Wind Turbine (10268) Now Up

Towards the end of this week, one of LEGO’s limited-edition special sets from yesteryear, the Vestas Wind Turbine (4999) will be returning in a big way and a new line rebranding, as a LEGO Creator Expert set renumbered as 10268. It’s the same wind-energy turbine with Power Functions motor, improved.

When a LEGO set release (or re-release) gets to this level of hype that can only mean one thing online: a designer video showing the nitty-gritty of this awesome mechanized set. Once limited only to employees of Danish wind-turbine manufacturer Vestas, a partner of LEGO’s in its energy self-sufficiency drive, now the general LEGO fandom can enjoy its tall majesty.

Indeed, the Vestas Wind Turbine (10268) is one of the tallest LEGO sets out there, and its Creator Expert incarnation has some sustainable plant-based plastic materials among its 826 pieces. That’s two LEGO sustainability projects paid homage in one set.

LEGO senior designer Carl Merriam will talk viewers through the creation of the LEGO Creator Expert Vestas Wind Turbine (10268), which is priced at $199.99 and will arrive in LEGO Stores and Shop@Home this Friday, November 23. I’m sure it’ll look great when integrated with LEGO City sets to add some sustainable energy flavor to them; it’s minifigure-scaled, after all.

2019 LEGO Creator Sets Spotted in Store Shelves in Canada

After our first look at the 2019 LEGO City sets which were spotted on display in Canadian stores, we now have our first look at the 2019 LEGO Creator sets which are also found on the same store shelves of Canadian retailer Mastermind Toys. These latest LEGO sets still follow the 3-in-1 formats with one set dedicated to the creatures of the sea.

There is no official word from LEGO regarding the release of these sets, though it usually happens that some third-party retailers receive these newest LEGO sets firsthand and gets to display them ahead of the LEGO Store or at LEGO.com.

So what do you think about these latest 2019 LEGO Creator sets? I’m not really a fan of these 3-in-1 builds, but seeing how they are designed particularly the Shuttle Transporter and Deep Sea Creatures, I might be tempted to pick them up on Day 1.

Thanks once again to Brickset for sharing these images.

SPOTTED: 2019 LEGO City Sets Now Available in Canada

It looks like our friends in Canada will have a head start with these new 2019 LEGO City sets. Thanks to an eagle-eyed LEGO fan, these new LEGO City sets have been reportedly found on physical store shelves of Canadian toy store Mastermind Toys.

We first mentioned about these sets back in August, and this time we now have a first look at their respective box arts. From the looks of it, these new 2019 LEGO City sets follow a predominantly Fire fighting theme complete with light accessories which is kind of a throwback on certain LEGO sets released in the 80s. You may also have notice that 2 of these sets belong to the new 4+ theme that LEGO will be formally introducing next year.

With these 2019 LEGO City sets spotted out in the wild, better expect LEGO to release their official images and info anytime soon. Check out their images below courtesy of LEGO insider CM4sci.

Thanks also to Brickset for the tip.

2019 LEGO Spider-Man Sets To Be Released This December

A lot of info traffic has been circulating on LEGO news circles regarding the upcoming Spider-Man sets in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. We’ve already showcased several awesome sets earmarked for release in 2019; at the same time we caught wind of rumored other LEGO Spider-sets arriving next month in December, as tie-ins for Sony Animation’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie. With the recent appearance of an advertising flyer from a Georgia Walmart, first shown on Twitter and confirmed by our fellow LEGO news sources The Brick Fan and Brick Fanatics, one thing’s becoming clear: the 2019 LEGO Spider-Man sets will be arriving earlier in some markets; and these same sets may be the tie-ins to Into the Spider-Verse after all.

That’s quite the surprise if it’s true, although the presence of more Spider-Men minifigures than just our familiar Peter Parker seems to confirm that idea.

Well, at the very least the 2019 LEGO Spider-Man sets have the Miles Morales Spider-Man, aka the main Spider-hero of the film (Spider-Bike Rescue 76113), as well as Gwen Stacy/Ghost-Spider (Spider-Mech vs. Venom-Mech 76115). These two are prominent is trailers shared by Sony so far. There’s another alternate Spider, 2099 (Spider-Crawler 76114), that hasn’t been featured in previews, if he’s even in the film at all.

Are the Spider-Verse LEGO tie-in sets still rumor? Or are they now reconciled with the 2019 sets that are revealed to be coming earlier on certain retailers like Walmart? To paraphrase Sherlock Holmes, we need more data to be certain. What we are sure is that Sony’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is premiering December 12.

LEGOLAND Florida Teases “LEGO Movie 2” Inspired “Masters of Flight” Attraction with Brick-Built Mock-Up

Last month, there was a buzz of excitement when LEGOLAND Florida first announced that they were constructing a new themed area in their theme park, one that’s inspired by The LEGO Movie and its upcoming sequel. They expect the expansion area to be open for guests by spring next year.

Among the several new ride attractions that are being planned for the soon-to-be-called LEGO Movie World area of LEGOLAND Florida, is the Masters of Flight flying theater, where guests could go on a ride aboard Emmet’s couch with a full-dome virtual display. During the IAAPA 2018 event, the management demonstrated a scale version of the ride assembled using LEGO bricks.

Merlin Entertainments’ global creative arm Merlin Magic Making touted LEGO Movie World in Florida as the ultimate destination for those wanting a full LEGO Movie universe experience. Merlin Magic Making project director Keith Carr adds, “We are confident this will be an incomparable and unforgettable escape that the whole family will want to experience again and again and every seat will offer an amazing view as wind, mist, and scent fully engage the rider’s senses.”

The virtual journey that riders of Masters of Flight will undertake include white-knuckle tours Cloud Cuckoo Land, Middle Zealand, Pirates Cove and others, with LEGO Movie characters popping up, all voiced by their film portrayers.

Other rides to be expected when LEGO Movie World opens in LEGOLAND Florida in 2019 are Unikitty’s Disco Drop and Battle of Bricksburg, alongside the Emmet’s Super Suite meet-and-greet area. Establishments include The Awesome Shop (themed merch) and the Taco Tuesday Everyday light dining eatery.
