LEGO Star Wars UCS Imperial Star Destroyer (75252) to Come With a Certificate of Authenticity

If you’re in the Leicester Square area in London as you’re reading this, then you might want to check out what is happening at the local LEGO Store right there. Across social media, LEGO has announced a particular LEGO Star Wars UCS  Imperial Star Destroyer Designer Event that is about to start anytime soon. And from the looks of it, those who are near the LEGO Store in Leicester Square will have a head start in being one of the first to try and build this latest mammoth-sized set from LEGO ahead of its official VIP launch on September 18th.  What is cool about this event is the fact that you will not just get to meet and greet, and have your own LEGO Star Wars UCS Imperial Star Destroyer (75252) set signed by its designer Henrik Andersen, but you’ll also get a Certificate of Authenticity signifying that what you have right there is the real, genuine LEGO Star Wars thing. Here’s LEGO’s statement regarding this:

75252 Prod

LEGO Star Wars fans. You do not want to miss this…😱

Here is all you need to know about this event:

Become one of the first owners in the world of the brand new Ultimate Collector Series LEGO® Star Wars™ Imperial Star Destroyer set.* 🙌

Purchase the set and get LEGO Star Wars set signed by the LEGO Designer Henrik Andersen plus receive double VIP points!

Last but not least, all purchases of the 75252 set at the event will receive a certificate of authenticity.

Line up early to ensure entry, as stock is limited. First come first served.

*The number of sets is limited to one per person.

Please note this set is particularly large and heavy! The box dimensions of the LEGO® Imperial Star Destroyer Set are 53,3 x 46 x 38,5 cm, and weights 12,5 kilos. No cardboard wheels will be included.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
May the Force be with you!

Imperial Star Destroyer (75252)

Now if you’re planning to get this set, you should be aware that unlike the LEGO Star Wars UCS Millenium Falcon (75192) when it was released back in 2017, the Imperial  Star Destroyer (75252) will NOT include a trolley or cardboard wheels to help you carry it around. This is in spite of its almost identical box size and at 12.5 kilos weight. Now I’m not really sure how the LEGO Store in Leicester Square will manage to pack this set, especially for customers who will be requiring additional assistance. I hope that the least that they can do is to offer another protective box covering or cardboard just to ensure that the actual box will not get damaged.

Nevertheless, I’m sure for the most devout LEGO Star Wars fan, this might just be a minor inconvenience. With a signed boxed set from Henrik Andersen plus a Certificate of Authenticity to be proud of, I’m sure carrying 12.5 kilos worth of LEGO pieces will not be that bad. 😉  Lastly, I’m not sure at this point if this Certificate of Authenticity is only limited to those who will buy the set at the LEGO Store in Leicester Square, but I hope and expect that this will be a regular offering across all LEGO brand stores, and even if you will opt to purchase online. Kindly give me a heads-up if you’re planning to get this set on launch date, and give us a tip about your in-store experience.

Of course, our LEGO shopping experience ain’t complete without the great freebies on the side. There are three promotional sets that go perfectly well with your new LEGO sets for this month. We have the free the LEGO BrickHeadz Bumble Bee (40270) for every single-receipt purchase of any LEGO products worth $65 and above; another free item that is added to your cart is the LEGO Hidden Side Newbury Juice Bar (40336) for LEGO purchases worth $50 or more; and in case you want to give your LEGO collection a sort of oriental vibe, then you might want to pick up the LEGO Dragon Boat Race (80103) which will automatically entitle you to a free LEGO Year of the Pig (40186) set. As of this posting, I can still see these freebies in my shopping cart over at shop.LEGO.com upon checkout, so you may want to hurry a bit on that next LEGO purchase if you wish to grab these free goodies.

The LEGO Store September 2019 Calendar Is Now Available

The LEGO Store September 2019 Calendar is now up online and we can see a handful of promotional events that you may want to catch on with. From Hidden Side goodies to buzzin’ BrickHeadz, there’s a lot to take away from the LEGO Store this month. Let’s break down each of them.

Free LEGO Hidden Side Newbury Juice Bar (40336)

40336 5

I already reported that this latest freebie from the Hidden Side theme will soon arrive next month, though we haven’t had a clue on the promo mechanics of how to avail it. Thankfully, the LEGO Store September 2019 calendar finally confirms how we can avail the Newbury Juice Bar (40336). Every single-receipt purchase of any LEGO merchandise from equivalent to $50 USD and above entitles you to bring home this freebie. This promotional will run from September 2 to 15, or until supplies last. It was previously thought that this promotional set is only limited to any LEGO Hidden Side purchase, but it’s a good thing that it applies to any LEGO merchandise as well.

Free LEGO Storage Bucket (5005630)

LEGO Store September 2019 Calendar

From reversible canvas bags to picnic blankets, LEGO seems intent to provide us an array of outdoor accessories with this next offer. From September 23 to 28, LEGO fans with purchases over $100 USD will receive a free LEGO Storage Bucket (5005630) while supplies last. It’s a great way to bring with your LEGO sets to the park or at the beach for some outdoor fun. Just be sure you don’t mix it up with your snacks.

Free LEGO BrickHeadz Bumble Bee (40270)

40270 alt1

I saw this promotional ad appear in my email just a few moments ago, and it’s nice of LEGO of throwing in last year’s seasonal LEGO BrickHeadz Bumble Bee (40270). In case you missed this set, this can be added to your shopping cart for free for any purchase of any LEGO merchandise or set totaling $65 USD and more. This promo began yesterday and will run until September 8 or until supplies last.

In-Store Make and Take Triceratops

LEGO Store September 2019 Calendar

It seems that LEGO Stores are still continuing the tradition of offering Monthly Mini Builds, in one form or another. Be sure to visit your local LEGO brand store on September 18 to build your very own Triceratops. Like previous make-and-take events, this building event has limited space and pre-registration is required which will begin on September 5 in stores only. This activity is intended for younger LEGO fans ages 6 to 14, and build dates may vary from store to store so be sure to get in touch with your local brick specialist for more details.

Wanted: Ghost Hunters!

LEGO Store September 2019 Calendar

For the entire month of September, from September 2 to October 3, join Professor J.B.’s team and build a ghost-hunting vehicle. While you’re at the LEGO Store, you’ll also get a chance to try the augmented reality (AR) play features that the LEGO Hidden Side sets have to offer.

LEGO Life Meeting: Batman’s 80th Anniversary

LEGO Store September 2019 Calendar

Mark your calendars on September 21 because this next LEGO Life meeting is quite a unique one. This month, LEGO Stores will be celebrating Batman’s 80th anniversary with a fun Bat-Vehicle and villain getaway car build. Adult fans also get to try and build their own Bat-Vehicle starting at 3PM. You’ll also get a chance to win a $50 USD LEGO Store gift card by uploading your creation using the LEGO Life app. Be sure to sign-up on September 5 though since this event has limited space as well.

The month of September also marks the general release of the exciting LEGO Disney Train (71044). Featuring LEGO’s latest Powered Up technology, this set comes with its own control hub and motor that can be controlled remotely using the LEGO Powered Up app, in any mobile device. This set comes in at 2,925 pieces and retails for $329.99 USD.

Disney Train and Station (71044)

Another set slated to be released on September 1st is the LEGO Ideas Central Perk (21319). Taking inspiration from the hit 90s TV show, this building set includes all the main characters from the FRIENDS sitcom including Ross Geller, Rachel Green, Chandler Bing, Monica Geller, Joey Tribbiani, Phoebe Buffay and Gunther.

21319 Box1 v39

These were not mentioned in the LEGO Store September 2019 calendar, but be on the lookout for the LEGO Year of the Pig (40186) promotional for every qualifying purchase of the seasonal LEGO Dragon Boat Race (80103). If you recall, the Year of the Pig set was first offered at the start of this year as a New Year seasonal set, and it’s a good thing that its returning as a promotional item once again. The LEGO Star Wars Mini Droid Commander gift-with-purchase set was also missing from the store calendar, but I’m pretty sure that it will pop-up as a freebie anytime soon in September.

Check out the entire LEGO Store September 2019 calendar below, or you may download it in PDF format right here.

The LEGO BrickHeadz Bumble Bee (40270) Is Buzzing Again This Time As a LEGO Store Promotional

Here’s your chance to catch the seasonal LEGO BrickHeadz Bumble Bee (40270) once more in case you missed it. Though it is still listed for sale at LEGO Shop@Home for the usual 10 bucks, this set now comes as a freebie for every qualifying purchase of any LEGO products worth $65 and more.

LEGO BrickHeadz Bumble Bee (40270)

This promotional is available both in-store and online starting August 26 until September 8 or until supplies last. This 140-piece seasonal BrickHeadz set first appeared in 2018 just in time for Valentine’s Day. It features a bright yellow BrickHeadz bee with movable wings, a detachable heart decor, a pot of honey and a couple of flower elements.

LEGO BrickHeadz Bumble Bee (40270)

Build your way to someone’s heart with this cute LEGO® BrickHeadz™ construction character. Check out its cute pink cheeks, movable wings, detachable heart decoration, pot of honey and flowers. It also comes with a buildable collector’s baseplate with a seasonal calendar and BrickHeadz logo.

The LEGO BrickHeadz Bumble Bee (40270) promotional follows another freebie that LEGO offers for the month of September. The LEGO Seasonal Year of the Pig (40186) is also returning as a gift-with-purchase set, together with the LEGO Hidden Side Newbury Juice Bar (40336), and as well the upcoming LEGO Star Wars Mini Droid Commander set.

Here’s a Look at What’s Happening at LEGO Stores This August

As you may have noticed, there has been a lot of changes with the way LEGO has promoting it’s content and product line-up during these past months, and one of these is the way it delivers info regarding the happenings inside our local LEGO stores. For starters, we all know that the monthly LEGO Store Calendar as we know it has gone through an overhaul, with the digital copy of the calendar only made available at the start of each month.

As such, most fans now need to be quick on spotting LEGO store promos especially those that tend to be offered on a very limited time period. And I guess this is exactly the case with this month’s LEGO Store promos. I have to admit that this may not be new for most of our readers but still, it may be helpful for some who are looking for the best promos this month at their nearby LEGO stores. Just click on the following images to see the LEGO Store August Calendar up-close, or you may opt to download it as a PDF copy.

Free Baby Velociraptor Playpen

30382 alt1

This promotional polybag comes free with LEGO Jurassic World purchases worth $35 and above. You have to be quick though because this LEGO Jurassic World Baby Velociraptor Playpen (30382) polybag will only be available until August 7, 2019.

Free Mia’s Water Fun Pack

30410 alt1

Unfortunately, this promo is long over as of posting time. The LEGO Friends Mia’s Water Fun (30410) polybag were only available for a day (August 4, 2019) for a minimum single-receipt purchase of any LEGO merchandise worth $35 and above.

Free Reversible Tote Bag for LEGO VIPs

5005910

From August 1 to 14, LEGO VIP members with LEGO purchases equal to $200 and more are entitled to a free LEGO Reversible Canvas Bag (5005910) to help you carry your latest LEGO haul. This promo is not new actually since a different version of this tote bag was offered to the general public back in June and November of 2017.

Build a Mini Harley-Davidson Motorcycle and Take It Home for Free

LEGO Harley-Davidson Mini-Build

I reckon that this is the most appealing promotional offered for this month. This make-and-take building event is slated in LEGO stores just for one day on August 6, so better expect this to be gone really fast. This mini-build of the iconic Harley-Davidson bike has made its appearance in places like in Germany and China and takes its cue from its larger cousin, the recently released LEGO Creator Expert Harley-Davidson Fat Boy (10269). Do take note that this building event requires pre-registration (which already started last August 1) at your local LEGO store. You must also be age 18 and above to participate.

Ice Cream Truck Building Event

40327 1

For younger LEGO builders, the LEGO Store is the place to be on August 14 and 20. Children ages 6 to 14 can pre-register to have the chance of building and bringing home this excellent Ice Cream Truck model. Though LEGO didn’t mention specifically that this model is similar to the now practically discontinued Monthly Mini Build promos, the way it works seems to be similar.

Live In-Store LEGO Lab Demos

42099 2 1

Throughout the whole month of August, LEGO will be introducing a new hands-on concept to fans and first time LEGO Store visitors. Dubbed as LEGO Lab, LEGO Stores will now have live demonstrations of its latest LEGO sets especially those that feature breakthrough technologies, robotics, and new interactive Powered-Up sets. This includes sets that most likely include the new augmented-reality technology as featured in the LEGO Hidden Side theme and those from new Technic sets that feature the Power-Up technology such as the 4×4 X-Treme Off-Roader (42099).

Other than these activities happening or slated to happen in LEGO Stores, this month also marks the launch of new LEGO sets such as LEGO Architecture Empire State Building (21046), LEGO Hidden Side Newbury Haunted High School (70425), and the entire range of LEGO Jurassic World Legend of Isla Nublar sets including the largest among the four, the T. rex vs Dino Mech Battle (75938).

Be sure to check out these promos and events at your local LEGO Store and let us know what you think in the comments below.

LEGO Harley Davidson Mini-Build Make and Take Event Arriving in NYC

Earlier this month, we reported on a LEGO Harley Davidson mini-build make and take event that was launched in China. I have to admit that this is a nice mini-build that I wouldn’t mind breaking down to see how it is was assembled. It’s a cool LEGO collectible to display alongside its bigger brother. LEGO fans in China also had the rare opportunity of meeting one of LEGO’s top designers in the person of Mike Psiaki, who is also the designer behind the LEGO Creator Expert Harley-Davidson Fat Boy (10269).

LEGO Harley Davidson Mini-Build

For the rest of us outside of China, our only option to have our hands on this mini-build is to have someone share the building instructions and parts list needed to assemble this. Thankfully, we have Mecabricks user Nigel sharing to us his digital rendition of this LEGO Harley Davidson mini-build. You may check out his page and see if you have the parts needed. Just click on the Editor tab.

You also have a second option though, now that it seems that this make and take promotional will soon arrive in the US. The LEGO Store in the Flatiron District, New York will be hosting the same LEGO Harley-Davidson mini-build make and take event on August 10. Other than this highly-sought after freebie, LEGO Store visitors will also get to see a life-sized, brick-built LEGO Harley-Davidson Fatboy consisting of 69,569 LEGO bricks. Plus, you’ll also get to participate in building a LEGO Mystery Mural which will be put on display at the said LEGO Store.

If you’re in the Flatiron District on August 10, be sure to drop by the LEGO Store and participate in these building events. It is unclear though if you need to pre-register, so you may want to keep tabs with this event by following LEGO’s Facebook page and their other social media channels. Thanks once again to Nigel to sharing his digital rendition of this LEGO Harley Davidson mini-build.

The LEGO VIP Rewards Program Just Got Even Better

After the announcement of several significant changes in their system, LEGO Shop@Home is now revamped with an all-new and improved VIP Rewards Program. If you’re already a LEGO VIP member, then you’ll notice that the LEGO VIP Rewards Program has now much to offer via a dedicated Rewards Center page. This mini-site gives helps you keep track of your earned VIP points, plus access to all the perks of LEGO VIP membership. Aside from this, you can also earn points by completing simple tasks other than making direct purchases. You now also have the chance of choosing your special VIP rewards and have more control over how you can spend it on certain reward items.

VIP points can now also be earned by following LEGO via its social media platforms and completing simple surveys. However, the best way to increase your points is to take advantage of the double-VIP points promo that LEGO releases every now and then.

maximize vip points

Additional perks are also made available via this new LEGO VIP Rewards Program wherein VIP members now get to choose how they spend their rewards. Access to certain exclusive rewards is also available for redemption depending on the available VIP points that the member has.  For example, LEGO VIP members can now choose to either redeem certain exclusive items or use their points as vouchers for their next LEGO set purchase. As of now, these exclusive items include coloring pages, exclusive art prints, a couple of limited-edition sets, and redeemable tickets to LEGOLAND Parks and Discovery Centers, including the famed LEGO House in Billund, Denmark.

Lastly, you also have the option of having a special, digital version of your LEGO VIP Card which you can use for purchases in-store and online like your current physical card. This digital LEGO VIP card can be downloaded via Apple Wallet and Google Pay apps and must be used in conjunction with the LEGO VIP Rewards Center.

The new LEGO VIP Rewards program is still in its initial stages so we can be sure that there are more perks and improvements to come. Be sure to set up your LEGO VIP account and check out the Rewards Center every now and then.

This LEGO Harley Davidson Mini-Build Make and Take Event is Happening in China

It looks like LEGO fans in China will get a lot of LEGO love this month. After yesterday’s reveal of the LEGO Creator Expert Harley-Davidson Fatboy (10269), it looks like this set will have a LEGO Harley-Davidson mini-build version that will be given away as a make and take promotional across Chinese  LEGO stores.

LEGO Harley Davidson Mini-build

Thanks to a tip from StoneWars, we learned that this make-and-take promotional build was announced via the Chinese social media platform WeChat. To make the deal more enticing, it was also revealed that only 3,000 copies of this LEGO Harley-Davidson mini-build will be released for those who will be getting its larger LEGO Creator Expert counterpart. LEGO fans who will purchase the LEGO Creator Expert Harley-Davidson Fatboy (10269) set will receive a coupon that will entitle them to participate for the make-and-take building event.

lego harley davidson mini build event 2
The announcement for the LEGO Harley-Davidson Mini-Build Make-and-Take event released in Chinese social media.

Additionally, LEGO fans in China will also have the opportunity to meet and greet Mike Psiaki – the LEGO Designer behind this awesome big bike rendition. In case you’re in the area and are planning to get this set together will all its perks, then be sure to drop by at any of these LEGO Stores in China during the following dates:

  • July 17: LEGO Brand Retail, Shanghai People’s Square
  • July 20: LEGO Brand Retail, Shanghai Disneytown
  • July 21: LEGO Brand Retail, Beijing Wangfujin

I have to say that this mini-build version is spot on, with its orange and white background and stand. Though I strongly feel that the Harley-Davidson logo is rendered as a sticker, it is still an excellent display model nonetheless. I just hope that this promo will find its way to other regional LEGO stores worldwide for everyone to enjoy.

10269 Prod

The LEGO Creator Expert Harley-Davidson Fatboy (10269) is slated for a LEGO VIP release on July 17, and for the general public on August 1. It comes in at 1,023 pieces, retailing for $99.99 USD.

LEGO Astronaut Training In-Store Event Happening at the LEGO Store Leicester Square

LEGO’s official Facebook page has posted an event that will bring out the LEGO Astronaut in you. Dubbed as LEGO Astronaut Training, this series of in-store events will be held at the LEGO Store Leicester Square in London throughout the entire week from July 22 to 28. One of the event’s highlights is July 24’s Make and Take activity where participants will get to build a LEGO mini space shuttle and they will get to bring this home as well. July 2019 LEGO Store Calendar Highlights and Promotions

LEGO is pushing through with its plans of going entirely digital now that the July 2019 LEGO Store Calendar has been released online. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what’s in store for LEGO fans next month.

LEGO Store Calendar

LEGO Store Calendar

July 1-31: Weekly Building Challenges

Starting every Monday of July, your local LEGO store will feature space-themed building challenges where participants may have their brick creations put on display. I’m not quite sure if registration is required but I guess the calendar implies that walk-ins are also accepted.

July 12-14: It’s Christmas in July!
40292 1
The exclusive, gift-with-purchase set Christmas Gift Box (40292) from last year, 2018.

This is quite interesting since this promo is available only on weekends, and the calendar did not exactly specify what could be the exclusive offer. However, since this portion of this advert mentions that the offer is valid until supplies last, I am assuming that the set to be given away is the limited edition 2018 holiday gift-with-purchase set, Christmas Gift Box (40292).  This is a gorgeous set filled with hidden surprises, so if you missed out on this one, be sure to drop by your local LEGO Store during this 3-day promo event.

July 10-17: Monthly Mini Build – Fun Frog (40326)
40326 1
Fun Frog Mini Build (40326)

To reserve a spot, visit your local LEGO® Store starting July 5. This requires getting a bit of being used to since LEGO has dropped the online registration mechanics in favor of an in-store one. What also seems to be puzzling is that the Mini Builds page of LEGO Shop@Home specifically states that the MMB program has been discontinued since April of this year, with only the building instructions published on their page. Personally, I like the idea of having Monthly Mini Builds since a lot of kids (and adults as well) get to bring home free LEGO. We just have to wait and see where these changes will lead us.

July 18-21: Free LEGO City Space Satellite (30365) Polybag

30365 alt1

For the entire third week of July, LEGO Stores will be running a promotional that fans will find enticing. The LEGO City Space Satellite (30365) polybag can be yours for free for a minimum single receipt purchase of LEGO products worth $40 USD and above, or while supplies last.

As you can see from this LEGO Store Calendar, the month of July also marks the release of some of the highly anticipated LEGO sets such as the LEGO Jurassic Park: T. rex Rampage (75936) and the latest wave of LEGO Harry Potter 2019 sets.  Be sure to drop by at the LEGO brand store nearest you for more details about these promos.
