Two New LEGO Botanical Collection Sets Coming February Next Year

Plenty of praise must go to LEGO for trying to appeal to as many hobby niches as possible. Tie-in sets of major licensed IPs are simple enough to attract fans of said big-name franchises. But LEGO has also delved into themes and subjects you usually don’t expect to see plastic building bricks involved. Model trains? Check. Pop artworks? Check too. How about botany or floral design, which normally involves plants? Check three. LEGO Botanical Collection sets cover this particular topic well with some impressive sets released over the years. And we can rest assured there will be more coming next year.

The LEGO Botanical Collection Sets Are Leveling Up!

German LEGO news source Promobricks gives us word of at least two new LEGO Botanical Collection sets in 2023.

Wild Flower Bouquet (10313)

10313 1 1

One looks to be a new take on a previously-released item. The other is a nice change from the free-standing plant displays we’ve gotten from this theme line. By February next year, we can expect a new Wild Flower Bouquet (10313) contrasting 2021’s (conventional) Flower Bouquet (10280).

Dried Flower Decoration (10314)

10314 1 1

The second release that month will be the Dried Flower Decoration (10314). As the name implies, this set could depict pressed blooms in a flat display. It’s reminiscent of many sets from LEGO Art.

LEGO’s Botanical Collection sets currently fall under the wider LEGO Icons umbrella, and as expected they’re mostly rated Age 18+. Wild Flower Bouquet (10313) could have 939 pieces for the price of €59.99. Dried Flower Decoration (10314) meanwhile could be priced at €49.99 for 812 pieces. In possible US conversion, the possible prices might be roughly the same. Then again, these LEGO Botanical Collection sets are still far off from launch, so we’ll be waiting for details.

LEGO Icons Eiffel Tower Set Rumor: Will it be a Spectacular Black Friday 2022 Surprise?

Word on brick street that LEGO has something huge (as in very huge!) in store for this year’s grandest sales event. If the rumor turns out to be true, we may see the humongous LEGO Icons Eiffel Tower set revealed on this year’s Black Friday 2022 event.

Rendering Iconic Landmarks in LEGO

In the realm of creative construction, LEGO continually captivates builders, enabling them to manifest their grand ideas into tangible wonders. Builders have the choice to craft towering structures from their own imaginations, using the extensive array of LEGO bricks and components at their disposal.

Alternatively, they can opt for specialized LEGO sets, faithfully replicating iconic structures from the real and fictional worlds. Renowned landmarks worldwide have been beautifully recreated in LEGO form, transcending various themes such as those seen in LEGO Architecture, for example.

Among these stands the iconic Eiffel Tower, a symbol of Paris, France, which has been previously available in sets such as the 1:300 scale, LEGO Eiffel Tower 10181 released way back in 2007. However, rumors have been swirling since February about an enhanced version of this classic LEGO set.

This version of a LEGO Eiffel Tower back in 2007 will be dwarfed by its much larger cousin this year just in time for Black Friday 2022.

New Revelations About the LEGO Icons Eiffel Tower Set

According to Brick Fanatics, exciting updates have surfaced regarding the anticipated LEGO Eiffel Tower set. Earlier this year, speculations pointed to its release under the prestigious LEGO Creator Expert line, bearing the set number 10307, with a launch date scheduled for November. Recent insights shared on Instagram Stories by the LEGO news source, brick_clicker, shed new light on this development.

The LEGO Icons Eiffel Tower (10307) is now poised to become part of the LEGO Icons series, set to make its debut on this year’s Black Friday. Additionally, there’s been a slight price adjustment, with the set now retailing at $679.99, a $50 increase from the initial estimate. Given the recent price fluctuations in LEGO’s product range, this change is not entirely unexpected.

The LEGO Icons Eiffel Tower is set to Break LEGO Records

The rumored LEGO Icons Eiffel Tower set holds the promise of setting new LEGO records. Boasting a staggering 10,001 pieces, builders can anticipate constructing an awe-inspiring structure that reaches an impressive height of 150 centimeters, earning its title as the “tallest LEGO set yet.” Moreover, there are hints that some components will share the same brick DNA as those from the LEGO Technic theme, enhancing the stability and structural integrity of the final model.

With Black Friday 2022 swiftly approaching on November 25th, we have approximately two months to validate the authenticity of this thrilling rumor. While there may be little reason to doubt its credibility, it’s always prudent to exercise caution and stay tuned for further updates.

2022 LEGO Winter Village – Icons Holiday Main Street (10308) Now Listed

Thanks to its core concept of building and assembling, LEGO has long been crossing into numerous and different niche hobbies. Model railroads? LEGO’s got many sets for that over the years. Their vehicle lines, particularly Technic, could go toe-to-toe with conventional plastic model kits. Even LEGO Botanical with its brick-built blossoms more than hold their own aesthetics-wise against artificial flowers. But the best work LEGO does is undoubtedly with model buildings, obviously. And with the approach of the 2022 Holiday season, their latest addition to the Winter Village set line is ready. In fact, LEGO Shop online has listed it.

Brickset tells us that the 2022 LEGO Icons (formerly Creator Expert) Winter Village set has finally been revealed. If you feel the previous Winter Village sets have been leaning too “residential” then take heart. The Icons Holiday Main Street (10308) is anything but. Build a busy commercial hub for your LEGO Winter Village with two storefronts and some public transportation. Nothing says “traditional” Christmas shopping like a trip to the toy store or music shop. Expect the Icons Winter Village Holiday Main Street (10308) to launch next month, October 7. Further product details down below:

LEGO Icons Atari 2600 (10306) Officially Announced!

LEGO has now officially listed the LEGO Icons Atari 2600 (10306) – coming in August!

One can say that LEGO’s made a killer collaboration with videogame companies for new products. Look no further than the various sets for “Super Mario”, “Minecraft”, “Overwatch” and so much more. That synergy has also reached the very gaming platforms these games are played on too. Nostalgia must’ve filled LEGO-collecting gamers with the Nintendo Entertainment System set (71374) from 2020. So what if the brick-built NES console can’t actually play games? It just looked and felt so incredible. And Nintendo (and Sega) aren’t the only iconic names in gaming linking with LEGO. The Icons line will be getting a replica of yet another classic: the LEGO Icons Atari 2600 (10306) set.

LEGO Icons Atari 2600

Ladies and gentlemen, as The Brick Fan tells it, the official listing for LEGO Icons Atari 2600 (10306) is up. Like the earlier NES set, this is a to-scale reproduction of a historical early-80’s videogame console. And like 71374, the Icons Atari (10306) packs some surprises like only LEGO can make them. Atari’s even two-upping the NES’s solo “Super Mario” brick cartridge with three top-ranked carts. The LEGO Icons Atari 2600 also packs a controller, cart storage, mini-dioramas for said titles, and more. It might be a lot easier to just direct you to the link, and these product info snippets. For this writer, who played the Atari 2600 at a very young age, is still somewhat overwhelmed.

LEGO Icons Loop Coaster (10303) Gets Official Product Listing

Way back in 2018, LEGO wowed amusement park collector-builders with a Roller Coaster set (10261) of the Creator Expert line. Some four years later, speculation began building of a possible follow-up, with a set number even: 10303. The release date is supposed to be this mid-2022. It also means that this set will now come out under the new LEGO Icons moniker, replacing Creator Expert. Well now we can stop wondering because LEGO has made its official reveal according to Germany’s Promobricks. It won’t have the new Icons logo on the packaging yet, but that’s not really important at present.

10303 alt10

Anyway, here we have images and information snippets for the LEGO Icons Loop Coaster (10303). If this is a follow-up of sorts to 2018’s (now-retired) Roller Coaster (10261), it’s a big step up. Where the older set featured turns and inclines, the Loop Coaster boasts more advanced track elements. By that we mean this ride has loops (naturally). Another key feature is the elevator ascent from the station. The lift carries the coaster up to the top of a 90-degree incline. That’s enough momentum to propel the ride through two loops before returning to station.

10303 alt5

Being an 18+ Icons set, Loop Coaster will cost a pretty penny when it launches, though LEGO’s not specifying yet. Here’s some more info from the official LEGO.com product listing:

  • Fairground details – Accessories include a park bench with map, balloon cart, pretzel cart, hot-dog stand, height marker and a covered boarding station with opening barriers and a control panel
  • 11 minifigures – Includes a ride operator, balloon seller, pretzel seller, hot-dog seller, a grandma, a young boy, and 5 riders. 6 of the minifigures have reversible heads to show different emotions

LEGO Creator Expert Becomes LEGO Icons in June – Packaging Rebrand Starts 2023

One significant development in the naming of LEGO themes happened back in the year 2020. That was when the brand officially retired the “Creator Expert” offshoot of LEGO Creator. The company reasoned that the naming potentially scared off potential LEGO newbies. As part of the reorganization LEGO began using the Age 18+ classification for sets formerly under Creator Expert designation. You might notice though that we still tended to mention the name in our reports. The LEGO.com Shop continued using Creator Expert in their online listings after all. But starting next month, Creator Expert will finally have a new moniker – enter LEGO Icons.

According to Brick Fanatics, the former LEGO Creator Expert line will now become LEGO Icons effective June 1. The new designation will also blanket encompass specific set subthemes that originally popped up under Creator Expert. If you recall the Botanical Collection and Modular Buildings that LEGO.com lists as Creator Expert sets, they’ll become Icons sets. That upcoming LEGO Optimus Prime (10302) will thus be known as a LEGO Icons set upon launch. Icons itself will slot under the wider “LEGO for Adults” classification of 18+ sets introduced in 2021.

LEGO’s statement on the reveal of the Icons theme is to help “adult consumers”. They note that 18+ builders tend to go for sets that either reflect their interests/passions or be deeply immersive. That being said, apparently upcoming sets will not carry the mark in product packaging until next year. We at The Brick Show might bet that the next LEGO modular-building set in 2023 will debut the Icons mark. For the moment, let’s appreciate the nifty branding as featured in the banner image at top.
