It’s Time For Minifigure Candies With These Sweet Custom Creations from Build Better Bricks

Who says that candies and tricks or treats are just for kids? Well, I guess our LEGO minifigs will disagree especially with this latest line of custom LEGO bricks and pieces from Build Better Bricks. Just in time for your latest Halloween trick-or-treat MOCs, this latest creation of minifigure candies from B3 will make any minifig’s mouth water.

These incredibly detailed, high-quality custom printed 1X2 tiles include a dash of LEGO humor with such names as Mr. Goodblock, 3MOCateers, and my favorite Pieces Last Brick. They’re so irresistibly good to look at, one might mistake them for the real thing. The printing on these minifigure candies is so accurate that they will make a fine display on any candy store MOC that you’re working on.

If you’re craving these little sweet temptations, then you might want to know that B3 is running a promo for its first series of Candy Pack which you can avail of for a discounted price of $16 – 20% off from its original price. You may want to check B3’s website for more info on each of these little temptations, and for several new releases that they have including the Nintendo-inspired Red Mushroom Pack.  Be sure to follow B3’s Facebook page for more upcoming custom LEGO creations.

Are We Soon To Have a LEGO Overwatch Winston Bigfig?

LEGO seems to be pushing forward with more teasers for its upcoming LEGO Overwatch sets. If you recall, LEGO came up with a minisite dedicated to this latest LEGO tie-in sets earlier in August and after more than a month, the minisite has been updated with a splash image that hints on the arrival of one of the video game’s popular characters. The said minisite seems to suggest that we will be getting an official LEGO Overwatch Winston, hopefully in big fig form.

The splash image is giveaway on the particular Overwatch character that it is alluding to. It features several banana elements and what seems to be a jar of peanut butter which is Winston’s favorite chill time comfort food. Coupled with one of his quotable quotes, then this hint is a sure give-away.

It’s not difficult to imagine how LEGO will throw in a LEGO Overwatch Winston big fig, given that LEGO already came up with a set that features a gorilla big fig in LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas (76026). It is quite easy for LEGO to use Gorilla Grodd as a template and to accessorize him to be similar to the more level-headed Winston.

If this is indeed confirmed later on, then having an official LEGO Overwatch Winston big fig in any of the 6 upcoming LEGO Overwatch sets will be much welcomed by LEGO and Overwatch fans. We previously reported that there are six expected Overwatch characters that may be included as part of the LEGO Overwatch theme, and with the inclusion of an officially revealed Tracer minifigure, then having Winston in big fig form will give us a total of eight LEGO Overwatch characters to expect: Widowmaker, Reinhardt, Genji, Soldier 76, Mercy, McCree, Tracer, and Winston.

Are you excited for these LEGO Overwatch sets? Let us know in the comments below.

An Early Look at the LEGO Overwatch Tracer Minifigure

It looks like we’re getting closer to a full reveal of the anticipated LEGO Overwatch sets anytime soon. The Overwatch social media channels on Facebook and Twitter have shown our first official reveal of the LEGO Overwatch Tracer minifigure and it looks great! Check out the video clip below.

Last month, the same Overwatch Facebook page also gave us a glimpse of 6 possible characters from the video game that will have their physical minifigure counterparts. This time, it is now set on stone that a confirmed LEGO Overwatch Tracer minifigure will find its way among the 6 LEGO Overwatch sets expected to come out next year.

02 LEGO Tracer

Tracer is a perfect fit to spearhead the reveal of these LEGO Overwatch sets, being a sort of mascot and a household name for Overwatch fans. It’s kind of difficult to imagine the LEGO Overwatch range without even having her as an exclusive minifigure.

LEGO Tracer

Given all the reveals that we have so far, we can expect the characters of Widowmaker, Reinhardt, Genji, Soldier 76, Mercy, McCree, and this time Tracer to be included in the LEGO Overwatch minifigure line up. Earlier today, the LEGO Overwatch minisite was updated with a splash image that hints on the arrival of Winston (as a LEGO bigfig perhaps?) in the LEGO Overwatch world. We’ll have to see in the next few weeks if LEGO will confirm this.

Stay tuned for more exciting LEGO Overwatch updates!

LEGO Creator Expert Winter Village Fire Station (10263) Now Available

LEGO has pretty much gotten the “Christmas Comes Early” thing down to an art form, having their holiday-themed sets being unveiled soon after passing the year’s midpoint, then becoming available way ahead of December. We have the LEGO Advent Calendars already out, and next in line is something more in-tune with the holiday vibes. Already available for early purchase by LEGO VIP members, the LEGO Creator Expert Winter Village Fire Station (10263) is now out on general release starting this month. This very delightful set can now be purchased on LEGO Shop@Home and on LEGO Brand Stores across the US.

LEGO’s Winter Village series keeps on getting better since it launched its first set in 2009 with the Winter Village Toy Shop (10199)Every year, LEGO has added a winter-themed Creator Expert set to add on to the existing Christmas themed series:

The LEGO Creator Winter Village Fire Station (10263) retails for $99.99 on Shop@Home and in all LEGO Brand Store. It comes in at 1,166 pieces and includes a new brick-built Christmas tree, lamppost, mini skating rink with statue, and botanical elements that features LEGO’s first ever elements and pieces made from environmentally sustainable materials.

LEGO Star Wars Solo Polybags Spotted in Dallas LEGO Brand Store

It’s often a pattern with LEGO product releases that, after they have introduced and made available the large sets – usually vehicle models – that come in boxes, eventually they also bring out micro-build versions of the same sets, packed in polybags. They usually run for a limited period as exclusive on certain retailers then simply disappear. Such is the case, as it seems to be, for the LEGO Star Wars Solo polybags.

However, there seems to be a slim chance in grabbing some these microbuild collectibles now that they were spotted in a  Dallas LEGO brand store by a LEGO Star Wars fan, and was eventually reported by Star Wars insider Rebelscum. If you recall, these LEGO Star Wars Solo polybags were once listed at Walmart’s online portal, but were now flagged as out of stock. These polybags were microbuild versions of their larger LEGO Star Wars counterparts, particularly the Imperial TIE Fighter (75211) and Imperial AT-Hauler (75219).

Both of these above LEGO Star Wars Solo polybags have also gotten their build instructions uploaded on LEGO Customer Service for DIY recreation, but apparently the actual polybag products aren’t yet “retired” as it were. And it looks like both the micro LEGO Star Wars Solo Imperial TIE Fighter (30381) and AT-Hauler (30498) polybags are still available at the said Dallas LEGO Brand Store. As seen in the featured image above, the Solo tie-in polybags are priced at $6, much like its fellows on the shelf.

Meanwhile, a lot of new LEGO Star Wars sets did become available for purchase at branded stores, retailers and online at the start of the month. In terms of polybags, the latest one is the Mud-trooper Han Solo (40300)  minifigure, free for every minimum LEGO purchase of $35 at Shop@Home.

These LEGO Star Wars Sets Now Come With Double VIP Points

One thing we’ve noticed about the LEGO VIP program is that it has a tendency to be tied to the LEGO Star Wars product line, perhaps more than all others. We need look no further than the glossy Black VIP Card first introduced in the hectic days of the mammoth UCS Millennium Falcon (75192) set. Every now and then, LEGO pulls some promotional deals of assigning double VIP points to purchases of specific LEGO sets for a set duration. These promos aren’t usually broadcast so blatantly by LEGO in advertising, though they can be checked by VIP members on their account info page at LEGO Shop@Home.

75218 1 75218 alt1

With the start of a new month, LEGO has refreshed its selection of LEGO sets that will earn double VIP points when bought. For October that will be a couple of LEGO Star Wars sets, in particular the 2018 LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter (75218) and Yoda’s Hut (75208).

75208 1 75208 alt1

There’s a lot of VIP points to be doubled with either of these, with Yoda’s Hut (75208) carrying an estimated 59 (118 when doubled) and the X-Wing a hefty 159 (318 ditto). The double points are in effect when buying the sets until the end of October, so if you haven’t gotten them yet, now’s the best time to add them to your LEGO Star Wars collection.

Target Now Lists the LEGO Bean There, Donut That (40358) Set

Earlier this month, we featured a particular LEGO set that was marked as an exclusive retail item for the Target store chain. Known by the quirky name of LEGO Bean There, Donut That (40358), the nifty urban outdoor set looks to fit right at home with the LEGO City line.

At first the set has only been found on display at Target store shelves without much fanfare. There were questions on whether it would be a regular set for sale or something to be gotten as part of a promo. There still hasn’t been a peep about LEGO Bean There, Donut That (40358), but it’s plain to see now that it’s available on most if not all Target stores.

LEGO Bean There, Donut That (40358)

As already stated before, the LEGO Bean There, Donut That (40358) is worth $19.99 on Target, although holders of the Target RED Card might be able to knock of 5% of the price upon purchase.

Of course, if you’re interested in this one-off LEGO set but can’t seem to find it in stock on your local Target outlet, then they can be sought out via its DCPI number, 204-00-0606, to find where else might happen to have LEGO Bean There, Donut That (40358) in stock.

Life-sized LEGO Speed Champions Porsche 911 Turbo Featured at WeatherTech Raceway

Ever since LEGO made the impossible possible by recreating the Bugatti Chiron into a life-sized brick construct with working Power Functions engine, the concept of a large LEGO car as an attraction for special events has become popular. That would explain why a life-sized LEGO Speed Champions Porsche 911 Turbo was found at the WeatherTech Raceway recently.

The racecourse, located at Laguna Seca in California, played host to a special event by Porsche on Friday, September 28, called “Champions in Racing”. That was where they unveiled the limited-production new-age Porsche 935. But another car that drew looks wasn’t even a real vehicle.

Part of Porsche’s display in partnership with LEGO is a nearly life-sized LEGO Speed Champions Porsche 911 Turbo, part of a dual-set with the 911 RSR (with set number 75888). Unlike the aforementioned Bugatti Chiron model, made of the same kind of LEGO Technic pieces as the official set (42083) but more, the 911 Turbo was not only immobile but not even made of actual LEGO bricks.

In addition to the Speed Champions upsized Porsche being made available for photo-ops, LEGO also included a LEGO build zone, where kids could construct to their hearts’ content while the grownups watched the race on the WeatherTech Raceway with the actual new-age Porsche 935 participating.

Just to make things clear, the 935 that raced at WeatherTech Laguna Seca was based more on the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Only 77 units of this 935 were produced and all will be going to the carmaker’s VIP customers.

Second LEGO Brand Store in China Opens in Shanghai

While quite a number of new LEGO Branded Stores are on the verge of opening across the US this coming November, but out west across the Pacific, one particular flagship store has opened in what can be considered LEGO’s newest frontier: the second LEGO Brand Store in China will now cater to LEGO fans in Shanghai, making LEGO’s branding and presence even more felt in this side of Asia.

While LEGO has long been a rising presence in the Chinese retail scene, thus far it has not got on the branded store bandwagon with other international markets of the iconic toy brand. The one LEGO Store in the country before this was in Disneyland Shanghai. Finally, that has changed with the opening of this next LEO Brand Store in China.

Outside of the theme park and right in the urban center of the city itself, China’s second LEGO Branded Store finally opened its doors to eager shoppers in People’s Square of Shanghai’s Huangpu District. Occupying two stories, the new flagship has an attention-getting general design theme: The Future of Shanghai.

Immersion-Portal720

LEGO China General Manager and the LEGO Group Senior VP Paul Huang, was pleased to welcome families and shoppers saying. “Our store brings more opportunities for Chinese children, parents and LEGO fans of all ages to explore the many different LEGO products and experiences while enjoying a truly unique and high-quality engagement with the LEGO brand.”

Among the interactive features of the LEGO Store Shanghai are free-play Future City building tables featuring customizable brick-built skylines of future Shanghai, “Immersion Portals” for LEGO City and Ninjago with 3D experience booths, and even a rare Mosaic Maker machine for creating personalized mosaic portraits (40179), priced at 999 Yuan ($145).

Not only will the new flagship LEGO Store be a boon for Chinese LEGO buyers, it can also be a major draw for tourists to Shanghai who probably haven’t made plans to go to Disneyland.

LEGO Brand Store (40305) Now Found in Flagship US Stores and Available on shop.LEGO.com

Back in May, we reported on one of the earliest sightings that we had about one of the best micro-scaled builds that LEGO came up with so far. The Micro-scale LEGO Brand Store (40305) was an impressive micro-scaled set that manages to fit several key LEGO store features in such a small build.

We also mentioned that this LEGO Brand Store (40305) set is already being sold as a shelf product – no promos needed – at LEGOLAND parks in Billund and Malaysia, but that it was expected to become available in regular LEGO Stores in the US eventually. As it seems, the wait is finally over.

LEGO fans in the US have reported to fellow LEGO news source The Brick Fan of their own sightings of the LEGO Brand Store (40305) in real-life LEGO brand store shelves across the country – the flagship locations for now, but from this we can surmise that they’ll be everywhere soon. In addition to this, the set is now listed via shop.LEGO.com’s regional portals (UK for example) which hints on the possibility that it will be offered soon in the US as well. As of this posting, the LEGO Brand Store set is yet to appear in the US portal of LEGO Shop@Home.

Priced online at $34.99, the LEGO Brand Store set (40305) is made of modular sections that can be rearranged to one’s likes, and has brick pieces to make a Pick & Build wall, Build a Mini stand, cash register and even a wall-mounted ATM. Two minifigures (customers) are also included.
