First Image of LEGO Titanic Set (10294) Leaked Ahead of Supposed November Release

You’d be surprised at the number of MOCs by dedicated LEGO builders featuring vehicle disaster scenes. You get no points in guessing that these particular builders love replicating the doomed passenger liner the Titanic. Some Titanic MOCs from years back are absolutely humongous. Then earlier this year a rumor arose of LEGO planning to release a Creator Expert Titanic set. The news sparked collector interest particularly due to its size, at 9,090 pieces. It makes this LEGO Titanic (10294) the second-largest LEGO set ever put out. While LEGO has kept mum on this set’s existence, now some images have been leaked to technically confirm it.

German LEGO news source Promobricks.de notes that local retailer Brick-meister.de, may have released the earliest image of the RMS Titanic (10294) set. We now have an idea for the box art, showing the ocean liner in its red-black-white-gold livery. The foreshortened angle of the image nicely sells the size, even if the “largest set” rumors already got “debunked.” LEGO even put a scale measurement of the ship in the box’s upper-right corner. Converting a 269.1-meter ship into a 1.23-meter brick-built scale model gets its LEGO designers much praise from us.

Other info

Promobricks also gleaned some further details about the LEGO Titanic (10294). While already understood to be too small-scale for minifigures and microfigures, the set could be disassembled into segments. That allows for a display of the interior layout, which also depicts floor furnishings and facilities in some detail. Furthermore, this is not a licensed-IP set. It carries no marks from Titanic’s former company, White Star Line. The line merged with their rival Cunard Line in 1934, with Cunard itself now part of Carnival Corporation. Surely Cunard itself might have contacted LEGO about the set. Anyway, LEGO Titanic (10294) might be released next month, November 1 (October 20 for LEGO VIPs). That bit of info remains rumor until LEGO confirms it.

August-Released LEGO Marvel Sakaarian Iron Man (76194) Possibly Based on Unfinished “What If…?” Episode Now In Season 2

Back in August and September several LEGO Marvel products came out, based on the Disney+ streaming series “What If…?” The premise of this animated anthology centered on various alternate timelines created by divergent events from the canon MCU. This was reflected in the Minifigures Series (71031) plus the Captain Carter and HYDRA Stomper (76201). One set however stands out; more so now that “What If…?” has only one episode left. Tony Stark’s Sakaarian Iron Man (76194) doesn’t seem to fit with any of the alternate storylines featured. When in the series does it fit, then?

76194 1

Again, Brick Fanatics has the possible answer: the Sakaarian Iron Man belongs to a “What If…?” episode that was moved to season 2. They cite an August interview with the series executive producer Brad Winderbaum on Collider. Winderbaum notes that the series would comprise of 10 episodes for its inaugural season. The pandemic however affected production so much that one episode got pushed back. “What If…?” premiered August 11 so this info didn’t seem too important. But now that episodes 8 and 9 turn out to be a connected story, it suddenly became relevant again.

Episode 8 “What If…Ultron Won?” ended in a cliffhanger this past September 29. It suddenly didn’t seem feasible that the series finale could feature a storyline on Sakaar with Tony Stark. Therefore, the Sakaarian Iron Man (76194) likely features in the episode that’s now in “What If…?” season 2. Tony Stark and Valkyrie’s minifigures being accompanied by series narrator the Watcher here did seem strange. We feel how unfortunate that is. The Hulkbuster-sized Iron Man armor that transforms into a racecar would have been cool to watch on streaming. “What If…?” concludes season 1 on Disney+ this coming October 6. No date’s confirmed yet for the premiere of season 2.

Rumors of New LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Sets Apparently Due Next Year

Now that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is moving again, screening- and streaming-wise, LEGO’s got some new Marvel sets waiting. At least that’s the rumor according to The Brick Fan, after they noticed more listings on Brickmerge.de. The German LEGO price comparison site apparently has listed at least nine Marvel-themed items arriving in 2022. They have some (semi-descripitive) names, but not all of these are even MCU tie-ins. Three of these have “Classic” in their name. It’s possible they may depict Marvel characters outside of their MCU portrayals. But we’ve talked long enough. Here are those LEGO Marvel sets Brickmerge mentions:

  • Spider-Man’s Techno Trike (10781) – €9.99/$11.71
  • Hulks and Rhinos Truck Duel (10782) – €19.99/$23.43
  • Spider-Man in Doc Ock’s Laboratory (10783) – €29.99/$36.15
  • Spider-Man’s Headquarters (10784) – €49.99/$58.59
  • Marvel Avengers Classic (Set A?) (76202) – €9.99/$11.71
  • Marvel Avengers Classic (Set B?) (76203) – €9.99/$11.71
  • Marvel Spider-Man (76204) – €9.99/$11.71
  • Marvel New Theatrical (MCU?) (76205) – €29.99/$36.15
  • Marvel Avengers Classic (Set C?) (76206) – €39.99/$11.71

All suggested retail prices in dollars are direct conversions.

There are also six “LEGO Super Hero” sets listed on Brickmerge’s database without descriptor names. We’ve decided not to include them in case the Super Hero characters they depict are from DC. The three Marvel Avengers “Classic” sets above are very interesting in their labeling. One should see distinct differences in how Marvel Super Heroes look between their iconic comic-book and MCU selves. We can’t help but wonder what they’ll be like. But we digress. Even when listed in Brickmerge, we must treat these set numbers as rumors until LEGO confirms/debunks them.

Rumor of New LEGO Minecraft Sets Arriving in 2022, for Theme’s Possible 10th Anniversary

LEGO Minecraft is an established “licensed IP” LEGO theme today, with several sets to its name. But it technically began in 2012 as a LEGO Ideas submission. That product idea (Minecraft Micro World [21102]) is now recognized as having started the LEGO Minecraft line. As the theme approaches its first decade, it feels only appropriate to have lots of set releases. Some acknowledgement of the milestone anniversary would sound nice too. Well, German LEGO price comparison website Brickmerge.de has listed what appear to be six upcoming LEGO Minecraft sets. None of them feel “anniversary” in name, but they’re currently rumors.

As discovered by Brick Fanatics, here are the alleged LEGO Minecraft sets appearing in 2022. The price range progression for all of them feels reasonable too. The names also hint at getting some of the more uncommon mobs from the “Minecraft” games. Without further ado, here are those rumored sets.

The above prices in dollars are direct conversions.

Despite being listed in an in-depth LEGO price comparison site, the usual disclaimers must apply. These are only rumors until LEGO gives us official word. With that, we leave with this speculation also shared with Brick Fanatics. The reasons these 2022 LEGO Minecraft sets feel lackluster for arriving on the theme’s 10th anniversary, is that they’re not. Perhaps LEGO doesn’t count the 2012 LEGO Ideas set as the starting point. The first “official” LEGO Minecraft sets in that branding arrived just the following year, 2013. It does make one wonder. I guess we’ll find out sooner or later, as usual.

LEGO Games Gets New Logo (And Possible New Branding Purpose) as Rumors Spread of Upcoming “Overwatch” Set

Going into the weekend, LEGO made a little aesthetic change to the logo of one of their more niche themes. LEGO Games has been used to denote videogames in the LEGO style, usually their original creations like “LEGO Worlds.” The previous logo with “Games” set in gold has been replaced with a minimalistic white version. Coming along with this little alteration are speculations that the name will be used for branding new LEGO sets. LEGO already has themes for individual videogame franchises like “Super Mario,” “Minecraft” and “Overwatch.” But the rumor goes that the new LEGO Games branding will be catch-all for upcoming game-related sets.

That’s how The Brick Fan sees it. And it ties into some rumors about new “Overwatch” LEGO sets coming under this new theme branding. German LEGO news site Stone Wars has been abuzz about a LEGO set number, 76980. Apparently it’s for a LEGO Overwatch set similar to the ones that came out in 2019. Stone Wars believes that the set depicts a Null Sector Titan and will release in November 1. It might just be the ticket to reinvest LEGO collectors who also play “Overwatch”. Blizzard is supposed to release the sequel in 2022.

Possible new set aside, the idea that LEGO will use LEGO Games as overall theme for videogame-related releases is sound. Try as might, individual franchise lines like LEGO Super Mario and LEGO Overwatch don’t produce many sets. Eventually they’ll get buried and forgotten under more long-lived LEGO themes like “Star Wars” and “Harry Potter.” Grouping game franchises with licensed sets under LEGO Games might give them more visibility. Then again this is again just rumor and speculation. LEGO Super Mario did just release the Mario 64 Question Mark Block (71395) recently. It’s likely to come down to confirming set 76980.

Rumor of LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Gryffindor Dorms (40452) as GWP from Late October-Early November

LEGO’s an old hand at “everything old is new again.” We’ve seen some of their older sets revamped and renumbered years or even decades later. The latest versions tend to be bigger and more detailed. Compare the LEGO Star Wars UCS’s for Millennium Falcon (75192) and Republic Gunship (75309) with earlier iterations. Now, it looks to be happening again to another major IP done in LEGO, “Harry Potter.” Rumors circulate on LEGO-specific social media about a GWP for next month. It’s said to be a rehash of an earlier LEGO Harry Potter set, reimagined for the licensed theme’s 20th anniversary.

Brick Fanatics reports that Instagram users ac_bricks_03 and 1414falconfan are hyping a LEGO Harry Potter GWP for October-November. They call it the Hogwarts Gryffindor Dorms (40452), a gift-with-purchase to buyers of a minimum $100 in LEGO HP sets. Speculations on said IG pages claim that the set will include Harry and Ron minifigs. That sounds awfully like the early LEGO Harry Potter Gryffindor House (4722) set. That one had minimal brick-built reproductions of the Gryffindor Common Room and a student’s bedroom. This alleged GWP set 40452 expands the setting and apparently makes it compatible with the modular 20th anniversary sets.

If so, then LEGO HP collectors who have yet to buy Hogwarts: Polyjuice Potion Mistake (76386) and its brethren are in luck. If they purchase said 20th anniversary sets from October 25 to November 7 then they might score this GWP. That makes for a lot of modular assembly fun in fleshing out the “Harry Potter” story in LEGO. Then of course, word about Hogwarts Gryffindor Dorms (40452) is still rumor at this stage. Keep that grain of salt handy as we wait for LEGO to come clean about this.

Rumor of 9 New LEGO Technic Sets Coming Next Year

LEGO Technic is advertised by LEGO as the line that can teach children in construction of complex devices. Their specialized building pieces are thus the go-to for producing complicated LEGO-built vehicles. Whether for pleasure, sport, or work, vehicle sets from the LEGO Technic theme are beautiful art pieces one and all. Owning to the technical nature of their builds, Technic set releases in a year are not really numerous. Fans of the line however will wait excitedly for what LEGO brings out next. Thus, this rumor from a social media post will pique their curiosity.

According to LEGO speed-builder and news hound bricksmelody, at least nine LEGO Technic sets are coming in 2022. In an Instagram post, bricksmelody enumerated the rumored Technic products with their set numbers, piece-numbers and possible prices. The sets range from younger-age vehicles with pull-back function to potentially massive construction equipment. One set is supposedly licensed to a real-life heavy-vehicle manufacturer. Two sets have no names. Here’s the Instagram entry in question, with our own enumeration.

  1. Monster Truck (42132) – 139 pieces, $9.99
  2. Compact Excavator (42133) – 203 pieces, $14.99
  3. Pull-back Hot Rod (42134) – 266 pieces, $19.99
  4. Pull-back Go-Kart (42135) – 268 pieces, $19.99
  5. Racing Water Scooter (42136) – 467 pieces, $29.99
  6. Backhoe Loader (42137) – 893 pieces, $59.99
  7. [To be determined] (42138) – 726 pieces, $69.99
  8. [Licensed] Tractor (42139) – 1,286 pieces, $119.99
  9. [To be determined] w/ Control+ (42140) – 398 pieces, $129.99

You know what comes next. The above information is a rumor at the moment, and we’ll have to wait until LEGO itself breaks any news. Still, new Technic sets are nothing to sneeze at. Some of them have wowed us before, especially the Technic-cars that get life-sized reproductions using actual Technic pieces. Let’s look forward to what the line comes up with next, no matter how long the wait is.

Yet Another LEGO Star Wars Rumor: Hoth-Variant AT-ST Walker (75322) Coming January Next Year

Casual viewers of the original “Star Wars” trilogy would believe that the Imperial AT-ST “chicken-leg” walker first appeared in “Return of the Jedi.” But they actually show up in the background of the Battle of Hoth in “The Empire Strikes Back.” As you may have guessed, the AT-ST is the latest bit of LEGO Star Wars rumor about sets coming in 2022. Between a supposed Battle Pack (75320?) and a possible UCS AT-AT Walker (75313?), Episode V’s getting lots of LEGO love. Now Germany’s Promobricks.de is saying that an AT-ST could be joining the aforementioned Hoth-themed sets.

Leaked word is that a new LEGO Star Wars AT-ST set is due for release in January of 2022. This Imperial walker sports colors from the Battle of Hoth in “Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.” That means it’s somewhat different from their more visible appearance in “Return of the Jedi.” “Star Wars” tech manuals indicate that the earlier Hoth model differs from the Endor model in weapon shape. The Hoth AT-ST apparently sports longer legs and closed viewports too. The LEGO Star Wars rendition of this Imperial walker variant will apparently bear the number 75322.

About that leak…

Details from the leak shared by Promobricks claim the Hoth AT-ST set has 586 pieces and three minifigures. That’s more pieces and less minifigs than the most recent LEGO Star Wars AT-ST. That would be the Raider variant (75254) as seen in “The Mandalorian” on Disney+. It had Mandalorian Din Djarin and his companion Cara Dune against two Klatoonians piloting the walker. The Hoth AT-ST (75322) would have one Imperial as pilot, facing Chewbacca and a Hoth Rebel trooper. Oh and there’s supposed to be an Imperial probe droid included.

Once this set arrives next year (if true), then the Hoth AT-ST could partner with the November-releasing UCS AT-AT (75313) and Hoth Battle Pack (75320) to create another LEGO Star Wars rendition of the big battle scene from “The Empire Strikes Back.” But of course, all three products remain rumors at present, until LEGO makes official statements to confirm them.

LEGO Star Wars Rumor: New Star Destroyer Set (40484) as GWP for Still-Unconfirmed UCS AT-AT, All Coming November

It’s another day, and we have another rumor percolating for LEGO Star Wars stuff. While those of the Star Wars Helmets are not until next year, this one’s (probably) coming a lot sooner. And rather than a buy-alone set (though still a possibly), this one’s a gift-with-purchase. The tidbit comes to us from Brick Fanatics by way of LEGO_club_news on Instagram. It’s possible that this could be the GWP to yet another unconfirmed set, supposedly another UCS. And as it’s supposed to come out sometime in November the reveal (if any) will be even closer.

As you can see from this Instagram post by LEGO_club_news, we’re looking at another LEGO Star Wars Star Destroyer. Numbered 40484, this set is said to have 396 pieces. According to Brick Fanatics that’s about the same size as the Midi-scale Star Destroyer (8099) retired in 2010. Given LEGO’s penchant for revamping old nearly-forgotten sets with new numbering, this 40484 version sounds plausible. What’s yet to be substantiated is the LEGO Star Wars UCS set this one’s supposed to be GWP for. A UCS Imperial AT-AT (75313?) just over a year after the already-large 75288 version’s kind of too soon.

When it comes to rumors as we’ve said before, it’s not really real until LEGO says so. This rumor pegged the LEGO Star Wars Star Destroyer (40484) as coming in November, so we have until October. The same likely goes for the UCS AT-AT which has an alleged November 26 release. That’s more calendar dates to mark for LEGO Star Wars collectors. Let’s see if we get more pleasant surprises than disappointments with these speculations.

LEGO Teaser Substantiates Rumors of “Queer Eye” Apartment Set (10291)

Funny how we were recently talking about LEGO sets geared for AFOLs in particular fandoms. It’s true that quite a bit of LEGO Ideas submissions might be for adult-oriented IPs. One comment from the Brickset.com story about this teaser noted how many “The Office” sets aspire for LEGO Ideas. And there has been talk that LEGO will make sets for “The Batman” starring Robert Pattinson. Production’s been pushing to get it an R-rating. But back to this new LEGO teaser: observers are sure about the show from the images. LEGO “Queer Eye” sets are coming?

If somebody didn’t get it, “Queer Eye” is a reality show streaming on Netflix since 2018. It features a makeover team of five gay guys helping a wide variety of people better their lifestyles and relationships. The teasers on LEGO’s official social media hint at icons symbolizing the “Fab 5” headlining the show. It pretty much confirms an earlier rumor: “Queer Eye” Apartment, numbered 10291. Speculation on this set of 974 pieces began last August, with a possible release date sometime within this month. If so, then LEGO Queer Eye Apartment (10291) could be blown wide open any day now.

Once the set releases, it will join a nice ensemble of “apartment” LEGO sets based on various franchises. How cool would it be to build a LEGO neighborhood withFriends,” “Seinfeld” and “Queer Eye” together? We first need to see how the “Queer Eye” set looks like first, though it surely won’t be long now.
