New: Exclusive LEGO Harry Potter Tom Riddle Minifigure Freebie

Amazon updated its roster of LEGO-inspired books that Harry Potter fans will love to have. The LEGO Harry Potter Magical Treasury: A Visual Guide to the Wizarding World is currently listed via Amazon, and it also comes with an exclusive LEGO Harry Potter Tom Riddle minifigure based on the second film in the franchise, The Chamber of Secrets.

lego harry potter book 1

This latest LEGO Harry Potter Tom Riddle minifigure is the newest rendition of the infamous character in the film series which made his first appearance as a minifigure back in 2002 in LEGO Harry Potter The Chamber of Secrets (4730). This latest LEGO version of Tom Riddle sees him wearing his old Hogwarts uniform, and is the first of its kind in the LEGO Harry Potter series. Understandably, this is perhaps the main selling point of this upcoming DK offering. Here’s a brief description of the LEGO Harry Potter Magical Treasury: A Visual Guide to the Wizarding World book as listed in Amazon.

LEGO Harry Potter Summer 2020 Sets at the Nuremberg Toy Fair

Promobricks is on the floor of the Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany, and it seems that LEGO still has something up its sleeves even at the last of the International Toy Fair. As it turns out, there have been some adjustments at the LEGO Booth where several LEGO Harry Potter Summer 2020 sets have been put on display. Unfortunately, media representatives were not given the opportunity to see these sets first hand. But this did not prevent our friends to gather some info on what these new LEGO Harry Potter sets are all about.

As a word of caution, please bear in mind that these descriptions are based on non-media sources that managed to glimpse over those sets. So in this case, nothing is final until LEGO gives its official word. Here is the list of these set names, expected retail price and the minifigures included with them.

LEGO Harry Potter Room of Requirement (75966)
Room of Requirement OotP
The Room of Requirement from The Goblet of Fire.

Price: 19.99 Euro | Minifigures: Harry Potter,  Hermione Granger (with her Otter Patronus), Luna Lovegood (with Hare Patronus)

LEGO Harry Potter Forbidden Forest (75967)
centaurs harry potter
The centaurs that inhabit the Forbidden Forest from Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix.

Price: 29.99 Euro | Minifigures: Harry Potter,  Hermione Granger, Dolores Umbridge, Two Centaurs (features a new horse base and torso, probably similar to the new mini leg part used for the minifig character of Hickory in LEGO Trolls World Tour Lonesome Flats Raft Adventure 41253). It also features a buildable Grawp, the giant and maternal half-brother of Hagrid.

LEGO Harry Potter Escape from Privet Drive (75968)
4728 1
The LEGO Harry Potter Escape from Privet Drive (4728) set will have a re-release for 2020.

Price: 69.99 Euro | Minifigures: Harry Potter,  Ron Weasley, Dobby, Vernon Dursley, Petunia Dursley, and Dudley Dursley. This set is practically a re-release of set 4728 from 2002,0 now with the inclusion of the first-ever Petunia and Dudley minifigures.

LEGO Harry Potter Astronomy Tower (75969)
harry potter astronomy tower Favim.com 6201223
The Astronomy Tower scene from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Price: 99.99 Euro | Minifigures: Harry Potter,  Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Draco Malfoy, Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom, Horace Slughorn, and Lavender Brown.

Perhaps the highlight and the largest set in this new wave of LEGO Harry Potter sets, this one will include a second minifig rendition of Horace Slughhorn since he was introduced in 2018’s Bricktober LEGO Harry Potter Minifigure Collection (5005254). Lavender Brown’s entry as a minifigure is also a recent addition in LEGO Harry Potter sets.

LEGO  Harry Potter Buildable Hedwig (75979)
target lego buildable hedwig

Price: 39.99 Euro. This is the first time that LEGO will be offering a solely buildable figure set under the Harry Potter theme. If you recall, a similar set was offered by Target in 2018 as a sweepstakes prize for their 20th Anniversary Potter Event. However, unlike that of the buildable BB-8 (75187) and Yoda (75255), this buildable Hedwig from Harry Potter was not offered for retail. I just hope that at 39.99 Euro, this will somehow be close to what Target has offered to the winner back then.

LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar 2020 (75981)
75964 alt1
The LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar (75964) from last year. LEGO is continuing the tradition of releasing these sets, with the next LEGO Harry Potter Advent Calendar slated to be released in the last quarter of 2020.

It is not surprising that LEGO will continue the tradition of its Advent Calendars. However, what fans of these offerings may find a bit of a let-down is the apparent price increase of this set. From the previous price of 24.99 Euro, it is now expected to retail for 29.99 Euro instead.

LEGO Harry Potter Collectible Minifigures Series 2 (71028)
71022 0
Another series of LEGO Harry Potter Collectible Minifigures will arrive this September following 2018’s Series 1 (71022).

Price: 3.99 Euro/blind bag. It is now confirmed that the LEGO Harry Potter theme will now see its second CMF series following 2018’s Series 1 (71022). We can expect a release date of sometime in September this year, with the included Harry Potter minifigure characters still kept as a closely guarded secret.

So far this is what we know about the LEGO Harry Potter Summer 2020 sets that were said to be revealed at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. We’ll continue to update this page once more info comes in. Thanks again to Promobricks for the heads up.

LEGO Bricktober Harry Potter Minifigures (5005254) To Be Available in Barnes & Noble For Only 1 Day

After LEGO confirmed the release of the LEGO Bricktober Harry Potter Minifigures (5005254) at Barnes & Noble stores last August, there has been mixed reports regarding its availability at the different branches of the said retail giant. There has been numerous anecdotal reports that the highly sought after collectible minifigures were put on display at some B&N stores, selling for $7.99. For several months, Barnes and Noble was mum about it, and has neither confirmed nor has released any official confirmation if ever these collectible LEGO minifigs were actually being sold already.

However, it looks like that Barnes & Noble has now finally broken its silence and gives us a definite answer on when the LEGO Bricktober Harry Potter Minifigures (5005254) will be released in their stores. According to an email newsletter from Barnes & Noble, the company has now confirmed  that the much coveted minifigures will now be officially released on November 17 as a LEGO promotional – and only, take note, ONLY for a day. The following ad was included in B&N’s newsletter correspondence, as shared by Brickset.

Barnes and Noble’s website also provided several details on its other in-store only exclusives, collectively tagged as Explore the Magic at B&N’s Wizarding World Event.

PROD-13876_HP_Blog_10-18

Thus on November 17, one day after Crimes of Grindelwald premieres in the US and UK, Barnes and Noble will be inviting guests to their stores for their Explore the Magic event, and it will be wise to expect that plenty of LEGO fans will rush to their stores on this date because of the release of the LEGO Bricktober Harry Potter Minifigures (5005254). Bear in mind also that these minifigs will be given for free but with a price point of $75 worth of LEGO products purchased in their stores, and while supplies last.

Here’s what else to expect from Barnes & Noble on November 17:

  1. $10 reward card with the purchase of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald screenplay available (until Nov. 21)
  2. 10% off select Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts wands and wearables such as the Sorting Hat, Harry Potter Glasses, and Dobby Ears available
  3. Free WREBBIT3D™ Harry Potter Ford Anglia™ Puzzle w/ the purchase of a Harry Potter WREBBIT3D Puzzle available
  4. New Chocolate Wands will be 3 for $30 available (until year’s end)
  5. $1 Bertie Bott’s 1.2 oz Every Flavour Beans available

That list doesn’t even include other freebies that B&N stores are going to shower guests with. Also, in contrast to previous reports, the LEGO Bricktober Harry Potter Minifigures (5005254) will not be available for regular purchase during this 1-day event, but will be accessible as a purchase promo.

I wish you all the best in bagging this one.

LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle (71043) Now At Double VIP Points

October ended last week, and with it the mind-blowing promo on LEGO Shop@Home that had been Double VIP points for everything. However, while that blanket double-points period no longer is, it’s merely reverted to having that “VIP point buff” on specific LEGO sets. And with November having started, that means there’s a new LEGO set or two that has been designated as worth double the VIP points upon purchase on Shop@Home for the rest of the month. That lucky set is one of the biggest releases of 2018, the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle (71043).

That’s right – the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle (71043) is going for double the VIP points for this month until November 30. At $399.99, the amount of VIP points you would get for buying this now on Shop@Home is potentially staggering.

LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle (71043)

The LEGO Hogwarts Castle (71043) is one of largest sets ever designed, and it’s understandable that the characters included in it were rendered as nanofigures. Replicated details are the Great Hall and main castle structure, plus outlying landmarks like the Whomping Willow, Hagrid’s hut and the First-Year boats. There’s also an army of microfigures to populate the LEGO Hogwarts, as well as bonus minifigures of the school’s great founders.

To refresh your memory with the uberness of the LEGO Hogwarts (71043), if you haven’t gotten one of your own yet, be sure to check out its designer video. Purchasing the set this month will feel appropriate especially with Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald premiering next week.

LEGO Harry Potter Collection for the Xbox One and Switch Is Now Available

Rowling and Warner Bros. is on the prequel adventures of Newt Scamander and his Fantastic Beasts.  But fans will always be drawn to the original saga of Harry Potter and his seven years’ struggle against the evil Voldemort. LEGO and Harry Potter fans in the 2010s have been blessed with the series of WB Interactive and Traveller’s Tales LEGO video games about the Boy Who Lived, released on multiple video game platforms and re-released in a remastered format on today’s latest consoles. The newest take on this, LEGO Harry Potter Collection, is finally out starting today and to celebrate its release, WB Games UK have put out one last trailer for launch, again showcasing the good old LEGO Harry Potter gaming experience in high-definition graphics quality.

The LEGO Harry Potter Collection contains the original games from LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 (2010) and Years 5-7 (2011), and was first re-released in its remastered form for the PlayStation 4 two years ago. This year it comes out for the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, and also includes two DLC packs, one for extra characters and variations and one for more magical spells.
